MARY ELIZABETH HUMPHREY
MARY ELIZABETH HUMPHREY, formerly of Wheeling, WV died Saturday, September 29, 2012. at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.
She was born in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Samuel and Mayme (Boss) Humphrey.
She was a timekeeper at Sylvania Electric Co. of Wheeling, until they moved to Pittsburgh and then she retired from Genuine Parts of Wheeling. She was a Catholic by faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and William Humphrey; two nephews, James Humphrey, Sr. and Eugene Humphrey; great-nephew, James Humphrey, Jr.; niece, Barbara Humphrey; great niece, Sandy Humphrey; sister-in-law, Hazel Humphrey; life long friend, Jack Williams; her beloved dog, Taffy.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Jenny Humphrey, Warwood, WV; two nieces, Judy (Robert) Houston, CA and Jill (John) Vessels, Wheeling, WV.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Paul Schafer officiating.
Interment followed in Greenwood cemetery, Wheeling at the convenience of the family.
JEAN W. JONES
JEAN W. JONES, 94 of Martins Ferry, Ohio, and formerly of Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday morning, October 9, 2012 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry.
Born in Factoryville, PA, on March 9, 1918, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Ruth (Swartwood) Walton, Jr.
Jean was a graduate of Factoryville High School, and Los Angeles School of Business. She was employed as a Library Aide for the Wyoming Valley West School District for 18 years, retiring in 1984. Jean resided in Forty Fort for 50 years before moving to Ohio. She was a member of the Forty Fort Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder, Clerk of Session, a member of the Women's Association, and a member of the Quilters. She also served as Secretary of Forty Fort V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Chester R. Jones in 1999, and sisters Roberta Millington and Pauline Parisi.
Surviving are her son William Jones and his wife Barbara (Venosh) of Oarks Summit, PA, daughter Linda Webster and her husband Rev. William Webster of Martins Ferry, Ohio, three grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel and Matthew Webster, sister-in-law Mildred Morris and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Friday, October 12, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, PA 18704, with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. her son-in-law, officiating.
Interment followed in Washburn Street
cemetery, Scranton.

DAVID L JOSEPH
DAVID L JOSEPH, 65, of Columbus Circle, Steubenville, OH and formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Friday, October 12, 2012.
Dave was born in Martins Ferry, OH on June 4, 1947, a son of the late Joseph T. and Ethel M. (Nagy) Joseph who survives him of Martins Ferry.
He was a retired salesman at Iron City Distributing, Mingo Jct., OH. He retired in 1986. Dave taught school at Chopticon High in MD for two years and coached football; taught at Akron Hoban and coached football for two years; both schools he worked for Dan McGrew. For five years, at Steubenville Central Catholic High School, he was a successful head basketball and baseball coach.
His teaching fields were biology and world history. Dave also taught one year at Martins Ferry High School as a substitude teacher in biology and physical education. He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by brother, Kenneth E. Joseph, Martins Ferry, OH; niece, Pria L. (Michael) Myers, St. Clairsville, OH and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Monday, October 15, 2012 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating.Entombment followed in St. Mary's cemetery Mausoleum, Martins Ferry.

ELIZABETH LEE WILDMAN
ELIZABETH LEE WILDMAN, "LIBBY", 91, of S. 3rd St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, October 14, 2012.
She was born in Staunton, VA on December 27, 1920, the daughter of the late Samuel and Emma (Forbes) Mitchell and step-daughter of Grover Snodgrass.
She was a retired cook at Bellaire Hospital. Libby was a lifetime member of Grace Presbyterian Church; member of the Women's Auxilary of the Martins Ferry Fire Department.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Otho Wildman; daughter, Robyn Lynn Soriano; sister, Louise Snodgrass Sponholtz and brother Darrell Snodgrass.
She is survived by two sons, Terry A. (Jane) Wildman, Martins Ferry, OH; Andrew R. (Marilyn) Wildman, St. Clairsville, OH; seven grandchildren, Taralyn (Jerry) Manukin, Brookside, OH; Terry A; Wildman, Jr., Grove City, OH; Andrew L. (Dallas) Wildman, Granville, OH; Jennifer (Chris) Brown, Martins Ferry, OH; Diane (Chad) Senakievich, St. Clairsville, OH; Heather (Frank) Quesenberry, Bridgeport, OH; Amy (Tyler) Laughman, Tipp City, OH., and 16 great grandchildren
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Entombment followed in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling, WV.

MARGARET LOUISE HENDERSON
MARGARET LOUISE HENDERSON, "MARG, " 85, formerly of Pearl Street, Martins Ferry, OH, died Saturday, October 27, 2012.
She was born in Martins Ferry on March 7, 1927, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Protin) Rochus.
She was a retired secretary at First Presbyterian Church and a former employee of the former Tri-State Asphalt. Margaret was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church and a member of the Eastern Star all of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Henderson; brother, John W. Rochus.
She is survived by her son, Scott R. Henderson, Moundsville, WV; two granddaughters, Tiffany Crane, Bridgeport, OH and Ashley Henderson, Martins Ferry; two great granddaughter, Hannah Coffield, Bridgeport, OH and Olivia Augenstein, Martins Ferry; great grandson, Evan Augeastein, Martins Ferry; sister, Elizabeth Young, Fairborn, OH.
Services are private at the convenience of family. Interment will be at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
MARIAN REASBECK SKORICH
MARIAN REASBECK SKORICH, 69, of Bellaire, OH passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012.
She was born February 20, 1943, in Martins Ferry, OH, the daughter of the late Robert and Betty (Coleman) Reasbeck. Marian was a parishioner at St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, OH, and a nurse by profession. She was employed by The Khoury Surgical Group, Inc. She was a 1961 graduate of Martins Ferry High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Judith and Elizabeth Ann.
Marian is survived by her husband of almost 48 years, Richard Skorich; two sons, Mark Skorich of Norwich, OH and Eric (Rebecca) Skorich of Hilliard, OH, as well as a daughter, Elaine Skorich (Chris Batog) of Cross Lanes, WV; a brother, Robert (Maureen) Reasbeck of Wheeling, WV, and a sister, Marjorie (David) Artman of Duncan Falls, OH. She is also survived by the loves of her life, grandchildren Laraine Skorich, Ava Skorich and Benjamin Skorich as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her furry son, "Mr. Cat."
Mass of Christian burial was held at noon Saturday, November 3, 2012 at St. John Church in Bellaire with Father Dan Heusel as the celebrant.
Interment followed at Powhatan Point cemetery.

JOSEPHINE C. CONNER, "JOSIE"
JOSEPHINE C. CONNER, "JOSIE", 91, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Thursday, November 29, 2012.
She was born in Steubenville, OH on July 17, 1921, daughter of the late Leonard and Teresa (Belfiore) Monteleone.
She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; Member of the Catholic Women's Club and a Honorary member of the Wayne L. Hayes Towers Club all of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Ann Flaherty; three brothers, Frank, Sr., James and Leonard Monteleone and one sister Elizabeth Monteleone.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Yankavitch of Wheeling, WV; three sister-in-laws, Lottie, Ann and Mary Jean; several nieces and nephews and step-children.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 10 A.M. on Monday, December 3, 2012 with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.
Interment followed at Greenwood cemetery Wheeling, WV

LOIS K. MITCHELL
LOIS K. MITCHELL, 90, of So. Zane Highway, Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012.
She was born in Martins Ferry, OH on October 3, 1922, a daughter of the late Adam H. and Edith M. (Paxson) Ehni.
She was a retired Assistant Treasurer and Vice President for the former Sky Bank of Martins Ferry. She was a long-time member of Grace Presbyterian Church and a member of the Eastern Star, both of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, Carl A. Mitchell, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty L. Mitchell; brother, Edwin A. Ehni; daughter-in-law, Sharon W. Mitchell and her mother-in-law, Hannah J. Mitchell.
She is survived by two sons, Carl R. Mitchell, Martins Ferry and Richard "Dick" A. Mitchell, Worthington, OH; two daughters, Carole A. Mitchell, Upper Arlington, OH and Lois A. Mitchell, Martins Ferry; sister, JoAnn M. O'Toole, Martins Ferry; two granddaughters Stefanie E. Mitchell, and Stacey E. Mitchell, both of Chicago, IL.
Funeral services were held at the Grace Presbyterian Church, Cor. 4th and Hanover Sts. Martins Ferry on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11 A.M. with Rev. William O. Webster officiating.
Interment followed at Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Bereavement service was held by the Elders of the church at the funeral home Friday at 7 P.M.

MIKE Z. KOTELLOS
MIKE Z. KOTELLOS, 86, of N. 10th Street, Martins Ferry, OH, died Friday, January 31, 2014.
Mike was born in Martins Ferry on October 21, 1927, a son of the late Mike and Katina (Verenakis) Kotellos.
He was a retired advertising manager at the Times-Leader of Martins Ferry and also safety director for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Follansbee, WV plant.
Mike was a well known numismatist in the Ohio Valley; enjoyed his life, traveling to the Kentucky Derby for 25 years, visiting relatives in Greece, hitting the Las Vegas Strip, and watching his children and grandchildren grow up. His knowledge and hobby of coin collecting led him to meet many interesting people in all walks of life..
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and John Kotellis
He is survived by his wife, Anna May "Annie" (Callarik) Kotellos; son, Mark Kotellos, Lafollette, TN; two daughters, Kathleen Hadorn, Mingo Junction, OH and Michelle (Brian) Tucker, Beaver, PA; brother, Harry (Jean) Kotellos; grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob and Jessica Kotellos; Kayla, Taylor, and Carley Kuminkoski; Alissa Hadorn; Brielle Tucker; sister-In-law, Anastasia Kotellis.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Stammerjohn, officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.

JAMES W. FROHNAPFEL
JAMES W. FROHNAPFEL, 76, of Colerain Pike. Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, February 2, 2014.
Jim was born in Martins Ferry on October 1, 1937, the son of the late Walter James and Bernadine (Fox) Frohnapfel.
He was a retired employee of the former LTV Steel of Cleveland, OH. Jim was also a well known self employed contractor in the valley. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church of Colerain, OH. He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Jean Vargo.
In addition to his wife, Nellie E. (Carter) Frohnapfel, he is survived by four daughters, Carol (Jack) Hameister, Chicago, IL; Elizabeth (David Wyckoff) Frohnapfel, Barnsville, OH; Stephaney Farris and Brandy McCorkle-Carroll, both of Martins Ferry; two grandsons, Jackson Hameister and Scotty Farris; granddaughter, Cia'ra Farris.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church on Saturday February 8, 2014 at 1 p.m.

MANUEL M. VETANZE
MANUEL M. VETANZE, "SOCKO", 98, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014, due to complications from pneumonia. He has been residing in San Juan Capistrano, CA with his beloved daughter Madeline and son in law, Nick since December of 2009.
Socko was born in Martins Ferry on May 30, 1915, a son of the late Ralph W. and Lena (Riccioni) Vetanze.
He was a retired machinist for Consolidated Aluminum. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary T. (Hodor) Vetanze; one brother, Candido Vetanze.
He is survived by a son, Nelson W. (Debbie) Vetanze, Aurora, CO.; daughter, Madeline (Nicholas) DiNapoli, San Juan Capistrano, CA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
