Charles E. Moyers, 63, Fostoria died Thursday 10:35 PM in Lima Memorial Hospital, November 4, 2004, after an extended illness.
He was born July 19, 1941 in Catlettsburg, KY, to Charley & Pauline (Pennington) Moyers, and his mother survives in Catlettsburg. He married
Katherine Hutton on November 4, 1989 in Catlettsburg, KY, and she survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are 2 daughters- Leah (Pfingsten) Hunt, Fostoria, and Becky (Montgomery) Bower, McComb, 3 sons- Michael Moyers, Lima, Frank Moyers, McComb, and Scotty Moyers, Marion, 3 brothers- James Moyers, Upper Sandusky, Ray Darrell Moyers, Carey and Bill Moyers, Sycamore, 3 sisters Bonnie England, Kirby, Mary Stuart, Rush KY, Barbara Moyers, Catlettsburg, KY, and 12 Grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father- Charley Moyers, and a brother Johnny Moyers Sr.
He retired in 1997 from Ball Metal, Findlay, was a member of the First Christian Church, Fostoria, and a US Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam Era.
Visitation will take place from 10-11 AM Tuesday in the First Christian Church, Fostoria with a Funeral Service at 11 AM in the Church, with Pastor Mark Harris officiating.
Committal services will take place in the Veterans Memorial Chapel of Fountain cemetery where the United Veterans of Fostoria will conduct military honors, and burial will follow in Fountain cemetery.

Richard L. "Rick" Herge

Richard L. "Rick" Herge, 57, of 10970 W St Rt 18, Fostoria, died Friday 6:20 PM in Northwest Ohio Hospice, Toledo, October 29, 2004.
Rick was born August 28, 1947 in Defiance, Ohio to Robert C. & Norma A. (Russell) Herge, and his mother survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are his wife Nancy J. (Gerken) Herge, whom he married
June 27, 1970 in Hamler, Ohio, and she survives in Fostoria along with a daughter Mrs Matt (Krista L.) Feindel, Fostoria, a son Todd R. Herge, at home, and 2 grandchildren Alexis & Darek Feindel, and a brother- Bob Herge of North Carolina.
He was predeceased by his father.
Rick retired in May 2004 after teaching at Hopewell-Loudon High School 24 years. He was also a previous co-owner of the Loudon Meadows Golf Club from 1987-1995. Rick a member of Loudon Meadows, maintained a strong passion for the love of golf. He began his career as a teacher after graduating from Ohio Northern University in 1970, in Holgate, Paulding, and Montpelier. Thoughout his career Rick coached many boys basketball, football, and baseball teams. His committmnet and dedication are qualities that everyone valued. He also represented Prudential Insuance Company while living in Indiana. He was a member of the Fostoria Elks Lodge # 935, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 1567, Sons of the American Legion, and a Seneca County Republican Committee member. As a hobby Rick built and flew many remote control airplanes. Rick will be remembered by his family as a positive, dedicated, and patient man, who surrounded his family with love.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 10:30AM in Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin Street, Fostoria, Ohio 44830. Reverend Terry Steinhauer, officiating.
Visitation is Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM in Hoening Funeral Home.
Burial is in Sandridge cemetery, Bascom.

Helen A. Scharf

Helen Ann Scharf, 96, formerly of Stuart Road, Fostoria, died Saturday morning 4:30 AM in the Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, where she had resided. October 9, 2004.
Helen was born July 12, 1908 in Hancock County to Curtis & Sophia (Borer) Fox. She married
Maurice Joseph Scharf on June 18, 1931 at St Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and he died August 23, 1974.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, 1 Son- Daniel Scharf, 4 Sisters- Rosetta Bohn, Marcella Burns, Ruth Conine, Jeanette Miller and an infant brother- Leo Ervin Fox.
Helen was the owner and operator of the "Foxy Beauty Salon" in Fostoria for many years. She was a member of St Wendelins Catholic Church, and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. A 1926 graduate of Arcadia High School who attended the Vellequette School of Beauty Culture. A former member and chair lady of the social committee for the Fostoria Woman's Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 10:30 AM in St Wendelin Catholic Church with Reverend Daniel J. Ring officiating. A rosary will be prayed at the church at 10 AM Wednesday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will take place Tuesday from 2:00-3:30 & 6:30-8:00 PM where a CL of C memorial service will take place at 7PM and a Christian Wake service will be held at 7:45 PM all in Hoening Funeral Home, 242 West Tiffin Street, Fostoria, Ohio 44830.

He was born August 9, 1955 in Prestonsburg, KY to Odis Lee & Virginia A. (Sammons) Owens, and his father is deceased. His mother Virginia, survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are 3 brothers- Rodger L. Owens and Gary E. Ownes of Fostoria, and Jimmy Ray Owens of Blue River, KY. One sister- Barbara A. Baumer of Kansas, Ohio, along with 3 nephews & 2 nieces.
Ronald was a "bartender", and an avid pool player, who belonged to many area pool leagues.
Funeral services will be held Friday 10:30 AM in Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with burial in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 7-9 PM in Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Phyllis E. Benson, on September 11, 1948 at St Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and she died May 20, 1996.

3 Sisters- Mrs Walter (Helen) Feasel, Fremont, Mrs Jack (Wilma) Ziegman, Orrville, Ohio, Mrs Robert (Janice) Colman, Fostoria.
He was predeceased by 1 Son- Charles Filliater, 1 Brother- William J. Filliater, 3 Sisters- Regina Schlachter, Ardella Russell and Geraldine Canterbury and a Great Granddaughter.
Mr. Filliater retired from the Norfolk & Western Railroad, and was also known for roasting and marketing Filliater Peanuts in the Fostoria area. He was also an US Marine Corp veteran serving in WW II.
He was a member of St Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, a life member of the Fostoria Elks Lodge #935, and the United Sportsman Club, Honorary Life member of Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree Council # 1197, Fostoria, and member of American Legion Post #73, Fostoria.
A Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday 1:00 PM in St Wendelin Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be prayed at 12:30 PM.
Burial is in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia, where the United Veterans of Fostoria will conduct military honors.
Visitation is Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be held at 8:45 PM.

Jessie James Paugh on February 2, 1945 in Kentucky and he died May 1, 1993.
Surviving are 2 Daughters- Mrs Gerald (Sylvia) McCartney, Bloomdale and Joyce Stinson, McComb. 2 Sons- Roger Lee (Andrea) Paugh, Fostoria, and Richard Wayne (Bonnie) Paugh, Fostoria. 8 Grandchildren, 7 StepGrandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, 3 Step Great Grandchildren. 4 Sisters- Dola Powell, Chillicothe, Mrs Marty (Sharon) Hutchinson, Londondary, Ohio, Margaret Cadwell, Welston, Ohio and Mary Archey, South Dakota. 2 Brothers- Pete Archey, Londondary and Tom (Eleanor) Archey, Little Rock, Ark, and special friend Theron Rowe, Fostoria.
Predeceased by 3 Sons-Robert, James L., and Howard E. Paugh, Sister- Mildred Fout, 4 Brothers- Ernie, Ralph, Calvin, and Billy Archey.
Hester was a homemaker, and also operated the former "Jim's Live Bait" shop from 1960-1971, she also worked at a "powder plant" in Londondary, during WW II. Hester was the past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Fostoria. She is a member of the Tiffin Moose and Fostoria VFW.
Hester was known as a very loving and giving person. She enjoyed fishing, and was a talented mushroom hunter.
Funeral services will be held Monday 10:30 AM in Hoening Funeral Home, 242 West Tiffin Street, Fostoria, Ohio 44830. Rev. Pamela Mundorff-Bowen and Rev. Donald Goodwin will officiate. Burial will take place in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be take place Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8PM in Hoening Funeral Home.

Jim was born May 29, 1928 in Fostoria, Ohio to Glenn V. & Helen (Dieter) Emerine, who preceeded him in death.
He married
Mary Joan Bragg on September 2, 1950 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and she survives. Also surviving are 5 sons- Michael J. (Linda) Emerine, Fostoria, Joseph K.(Helen) Emeine, Fostoria, Mark L. (Karen) Emerine, Fostoria, Martin D. (Michelle) Emerine, Celina, Matthew J. Emerine, Fostoria. 2 Daughters- Mrs. John (Joyce) Valachovic, Fostoria, and Mrs. Harry (Amy) Peters Jr., Fostoria. 10 Grandchildren- Bradley Emerine, Amanda Fox, Angela Maley, Jonathan Emerine, Jimmy and Lexie Valachovic, Tara and Adrienne Emerine, Veronica Peters, and Shelby Emerine. 2 Great Grandchildren- Leandra and Brennen Emerine. 1 Sister- Mrs. Jack (Joanne) Holderman, Fostoria. He was predeceased by 1 Son- James R. Emerine and a sister- Shirley Wright.
Jim retired in 1990 as a Platemaker from Gray Printing, Fostoria, he was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II, where he was a Honor Guard for President Harry Truman.
Jim was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and a 1946 graduate of St. Wendelin High School. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 1197, Fostoria. Jim enjoyed golfing and fishing, was a Cleveland Indians & Browns fan, and also an Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Cindy was predeceased by her mother Alma B. Lowery.
Cindy had worked over 27 years with what is now Honeywell, Fostoria, after graduating in 1972 from Hopewell Loudon High School. Cinday was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, and a member of the New Riegel American Legion Auxiliary, and the Amvets Auxiliary. She was an active participant in Fostoria area Relay for Life, Cancer Survivors Group, and the Victory House, Fostoria. She enjoyed camping with the Ford Wagon Train Camping Group, watching Nascar racing, and reading as a pastime. Cindy loved her family especially her grandson "Gaber".
A Mass of Christain Burial will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 14, 2004 in St. Wendelin Catholic Church with Father William Pifher officiating. The family will meet in the parish hall immediately following the mass for a luncheon and gathering.
Visitation will take place Monday from 6:00 - 9:00 PM in Hoening Funeral Home 242 West Tiffin Street, Fostoria, Ohio 44830.

Harry L. Flinders Sr., passed away suddenly Friday evening 5:04 PM in Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born December 26, 1953 in Vanceburg, KY to Harry Flinders Jr, and Betty (Jordan) Flinders-Southward. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Marion, Ohio.
He married
Becky Ray on April 11, 1971, and they were divorced. He then married
Alicia Adams on July 14, 2003, and she survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are fours sons- Harry Lee (Kelly) Flinders Jr., Jacksonville, Fla., Gregory (Susan) Flinders, Enterprise, Ala., John and Adam Flinders, Fostoria; three stepdaugters- Brandi(Kirt)Banister, Lisbon, Rebeca Meade, Girard, and Melissa Meade, Masury; seven grandchildren; brother- Wayne Flinders, Marion; three sisters- Vada (David) Driggs, Arcadia, Debbie (Bryan) Perfetti, Highland, Ill., and Tammy Frisch, Cloverdale; five nephews and four nieces.
Harry was employed by Ross Main Trucking, Burcyrus. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1567, Fostoria, and a 1971 graduate of Fostoria High School.
