Craig N. "Bub" Poland, age 48, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, March 18, 2007, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge, Ohio.
He was born October 29, 1958, in Cambridge, son of the late Nile E. and June E. Creager Poland.
He was an oil field worker, a carpenter, and most recently was employed as a mowing crew leader for GMN.
He was a member of the Caldwell Eagles and the Belle Valley Sons of the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Poland.
Surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth Jane Poland of Zanesville; one son, Craig N. Poland II of Caldwell; one brother, Edgar J. Poland of Caldwell; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday, March 20, 2007, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 21 at 2PM with Pastor Jay Loucks officiating.
Burial will follow at Halleys Ridge cemetery, Ava. Eagles services will be held Tuesday evening at 7:30PM.

Gertrude C. Ziemann, age 98, of Caldwell, Ohio, formerly of Akron, died Monday, February 26, 2007, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell.
She was born June 27, 1908, in Dietzhausen, Germany, daughter of the late Adolph and Elsie Karstat Goebel.
As a young woman, she worked as a housekeeper and cook, and was later employed by Rudy's Bakery on South Main Street in Akron.
She retired from the McKesson and Robbins Pharmaceutical Company of Akron.
She was a member of the German American Club and the Liedertaffel Singing Society of Akron.
Surviving are one son, Werner O. E. (Becky) Ziemann of Caldwell; three grandchildren, Laura (Wesley) Caldwell of Canton, Cheryl Ziemann of Canton, and Eric Hammonds or Florida; and one great-grandson, Cameron Caldwell of Canton.
A memorial service will be held at Hummell Funeral Home, 500 East Exchange Street in Akron at the convenience of the family.
Burial will follow at Glendale cemetery, Akron.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Charles Robert Copus, age 58, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at his home.
He was born April 25, 1948, in Ashland, Ohio, son of the late Charles Jacob Henry and Margaret May Williams Copus.
He was employed as an engineer and designer with NCR in Atlanta.
He was a member of the Cambridge Eagles and the Cambridge Moose.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Sheets.
Surviving are three daughters, Bobbie (Larry) Mason of Salesville, Little Doe "Doddie" (Doug) Fair of Caldwell, and Laura (Darrell) Farnese of Caldwell; one son, Charles R. (Linda) Copus, Jr. of Caldwell; one brother, Paul Copus and one sister, Dorothy Pridemore, both of Tennessee; ten grandchildren: Benita Gallagher, Bo Mason, Monica, Zackery, and Brandy Griffin, Stephanie & Darren Farnese, Brett and Kody Fair, and Charles Copus, III; four step-grandchildren: Tichina Parrish, Joseph Church, Heather Hill and Justin Robey; his life companion, Elaine Stennett; her mother, Ann Kovalchik; her daughter, Amy McDowell; and her grandson, Tyler Boggess.
No visitation will be observed.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 12, 2007, at 11AM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, with Ken Perkins officiating.
Burial will follow at Guernsey Memory Gardens in Cambridge, Ohio.

Frances Elaine Thorla, age 86, of Byesville, Ohio, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Autumn Health Care Center, Cambridge, Ohio.
She was born October 12, 1920, in Noble County, Ohio, daughter of the late Dye and Anne Jones Woodard.
She was a graduate of Belle Valley High School, and she graduated with honors from Muskingum College, New Concord, Ohio, with a degree in education.
She taught the sixth grade at schools in Byesville and Pleasant City.
She enjoyed music, especially playing the piano, and travelling.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, J. D. Thorla, who died in 2006.
Surviving are her husband, Dean Thorla, whom she married
February 8, 1940; one daughter, Dianna Jean Baird of Caldwell; one sister, Jean Reed of Columbus; and three grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at Olive cemetery, Caldwell, at the convenience of the family.

Clifford Dean Thorla, age 94, of Caldwell, Ohio, formerly of Byesville, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell.
He was born March 16, 1919, in Renrock, son of the late Forest E. and Stella P.K. Dye Thorla.
He was a graduate of Belle Valley High School and a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Navy.
Mr. Thorla was a retired employee of Columbia Gas, and he was an accomplished artist who enjoyed woodworking, painting and sculpting.
He was especially proud of a working canon and motor boat that he built.
Along with his late wife, he traveled to all corners of the world, including Africa, Europe, Asia and throughout the United States.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Elaine Woodard Thorla, whom he married
February 8, 1940, and who died March 11, 2007; one son, J.D. “Jan” Thorla, who died in 2006; one daughter, Dianna Jean Baird, who died in 2007; one brother, Z. Zaile Thorla; and three sisters, Irene Ralph, M. Janette Dunkle and Christine Denny.
Surviving are three grandsons, Paul (Mikeala) Baird of Sutherlin, Oregon, Keith (Michelle) Thorla of Portland, Oregon and Brian (Ashley) Thorla of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Karen Thorla of St. Louis, Missouri; special friends, Jim Finley, John Cline, and Judy Robinson; his many friends at Summit Acres Senior Apartments; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
No visitation will be observed.
A graveside service will be observed Monday, April 15, 2013, at Olive cemetery in Caldwell at 2PM with Ken Perkins officiating.
Military honors will be presented by Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.

Wilma A. Tilton, age 87, of Canton, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
She was born August 24, 1923, in Glenwood, Noble County, Ohio, daughter of the late Linus and Jura Andrews Tilton.
She moved to Canton in 1948, and retired from The Timken Company in 1980 following 32 years of service.
She was a member of the United Steel Workers Local #1123 and the Timken Retirees Club.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Charlotte Russell, Lettia Tilton, Fidella Robinson, Edith Bryan, Austin Tilton, Alfretta Syme, Ernest Jr. Tilton, Jack Tilton, and Elizabeth Bender.
Surviving are a special niece, Norma Jean King of Canton; a good friend, Grace Ungaslick of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.
