Megan Elise Switzer

Megan Elise Switzer, 54, of Arlington, OH passed away at 3:55 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. Megan was born on November 23, 1956, to William E. and Selema (Liebes) Striff in Toledo, Ohio. Megan married Scott C. Switzer on June 21, 1996, and he survives. Megan is also survived by her mother, Selema Striff of Dewey, AR; brothers: Christopher Striff of Toledo, OH and Michael E. Striff of VA; and mother-in-law, Anita Switzer. Megan was also preceded in death by her father; and father-in-law, James Switzer. Megan worked for St. Rita's Hospital as a Social Worker. Megan was also a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. She had a love for animals, especially her dogs. All services will be private and entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Memorials may be made to the Arlington Vet Clinic for Animal Welfare, 500 South Main Street, Arlington, Ohio 45814 and/or Teddy's Rescue, 12409 County Road 99, Findlay, Ohio 45840.

Martha May Killien

Martha May Killien, age 93, of Findlay passed away at 5:15 AM Friday, January 4, 2008 at her residence. Martha was born in Findlay on October 18, 1914 to the late Albert O. and Lottie Belle (Andrews) Garrett. On December 22, 1943, she married Frank G. Killien and he preceded her in death on August 10, 1986. Martha is survived by twin daughters, Sandra K. Snyder and Brenda L. Rall, both of Findlay; brother, Paul E. Garrett of Alvada; and sisters, Mary (Jack) Hochstettler of Wharton and Fran (Loren) Phillips of Bowling Green; one granddaughter, Theresa (Jon) Boes; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron Boes and Julie Boes. Two brothers, Ralph E. Garrett and, Richard Garrett; sisters, Ruth Wighaman and Laura Miller all preceded her in death. Martha was a homemaker throughout her life and greatly enjoyed being with her family and friends. Her interest included gardening, cooking and reading. A graveside service will be held in her honor at 11:00 AM Monday, January 7, 2008 at Van Horn cemetery, Amanda Township with Pastor Chris D. Cravens officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3:00 and 5-7:00 PM Sunday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Memorials may be made to Birchaven Cancer Center, Bridge Home Health and Hospice or to Donors Choice in her memory.

James E. McCamey

James Eugene McCamey, age 78 passed away on January 7, 2008 at his residence. He was born in North Baltimore, OH on November 29, 1929 to the late John and Elizabeth (Rader) McCamey. He married LaDonna R. Gephart and she survives. Also surviving are four brothers; Richard (Bernice) McCamey of Findlay, John (Mary)McCamey of Bay City, MI, Elmer (Delores) McCamey of Findlay and Charlie (Jill) McCamey of Beavercreek, OH, sister Helen (Paul) Engard of Findlay, three step-children, 17 step-grandchildren and 29 great-step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Ferne Jimison. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a life member of the McComb VFW and the Findlay Amvets. James was also a member of the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539. Visitation will be held on WEDNESDAY, January 9, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Pontius, officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. In lieu of flowers friends who wish may contribute in memory of James to Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Ln, Findlay, OH 45840.

Zoellen Schindler

Zoellen Schindler, age 82 of Findlay passed away on January 11, 2008 at The Heritage. She was born in Seneca County on March 21, 1925 to the late Lester and Esta (King) Humm. She later married Donald M. Schindler on September 16, 1945 and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1998. Zoellen was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She worked for over 30 years at the Blanchard Valley School as the payroll clerk. She was an avid bowler, a member of the Moose Lodge 362, the D.A.V. and the Amvets. Zoellen was also active with the Hancock County Agency on Aging where she belonged to New Beginnings and helped with the senior citizens dance club. She is survived by two brothers; Marion (Lillian) Humm and John Humm both of Findlay, three sisters; Ina Mae Steiner of Findlay, Sarah(Arthur) Oswald of FL and Maxine Cramer of Findlay. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Leland Humm and Russell Humm, two sisters; Evelyn Humm and Mildred Snyder and two brothers-in-law Loren Steiner and Clyde Cramer. Visitation will be held on SUNDAY, January 13, 2008 from 1:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2008 at the funeral home with Rev. Lowell Reeder officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Zoellen to Cancer Patient Services.

Mary Jane Lantz

Mary Jane Lantz, age 37, of 2208 Hope Lane in Findlay, died at 6:00am on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Findlay, Ohio on November 17, 1970 to the late Max Howard and Carol A. Decker of Arlington. She marrried Patrick J. Lantz on March 30, 1991 and he survives. She is also survived by one son: Michael A. Lantz and three daughters: Mychelle A., Hailey S., and Patti J. Lantz all of the residence. Also surviving are two brothers: Charles E. Howard of Northwood, Ohio and Dirk E. Howard of Findlay and two sisters: Lois (James) Speck of Findlay and Janice (Kenneth) Holbrook of California. She was preceded in death by a son: John Lantz and a brother: Derek Howard. She was a 1989 graduate of Arlington High School and a past member of the Salvation Army. She was a cashier at Ponderosa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9-11:00am at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay. The funeral will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, at the conclusion of the visitation. Captain Corina Stine will officiate and interment will be at Knollcrest, east of Findlay. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Madeline Ruth Williams

M. Ruth Williams, 76, of 17 La Plas Drive, Findlay and 2615 Cove Coy Drive, Clearwater, FL, died at 4:50 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. She was born on March 26, 1931 in Findlay, to the late George and Ella Street. She married Jack E. Williams, Sr. on August 30, 1952, in Arcadia, Ohio and he survives. Also surviving are her son, Jack E. (Cathy) Williams, Jr. of Findlay; a daughter, Teressa K. (Steven) Channels of Findlay; 4 grandchildren, Tiffany A. (Mark) Callaway, Jack E. Williams III, Eric R. Bower and Kyle R. Bower, all of Findlay; 2 great-grandchildren, Javen M. Williams and McKensia R. Callaway, both of Findlay; a foster sister, Laura A. Clymer of Aurora, CO. Ruth was a secretary for The Ohio Oil Company in Findlay and East Lansing, MI and Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in Findlay, having retired in 1986. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Findlay and attended Gateway Church, Findlay. She was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Findlay, a member of the Order of Eastern Star 23, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Dendaroh Court #10, Toledo, Findlay Ladies Shrine Club, Findlay Garden Club, Evergreen Branch and the Royal Order of Jesterettes of Seminole, FL. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Pastor Craig Cramer officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held 2 hours (1 p.m. - 3 p.m.) prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Zenobia Shrine Temple, P.O. Box 437, Toledo, OH 43697 or St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 120 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay or Gateway Church, 9555, C.R. 9, Findlay, in her memory.

Drusilla Mae Curtis

Drusilla Mae Curtis, age 57, of 806 Bright Road #403 in Findlay, died at 6:55pm on Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center. She was born on August 6, 1950 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Lester and Virginia A. (Dull) Estep. She married George R. Curtis on Aug. 8, 1996 and he survives. Also surviving are a son: Bryan A.M. (Aleisha) Gilmore of Findlay; stepson: James Curtis of Las Vegas, Nevada; stepdaughter: Andrea Curtis of Findlay as well as a brother: Michael O'Hagan of Tiffin, Ohio. Her four grandchildren are Shawn Jefferson, Carter, Elijah and Zoe Gilmore. She was a retired health care provider. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-6pm at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday with Pastor Don Garner officiating. Burial will be at Knollcrest, east of Findlay. Memorials may be given to the family, in care of the funeral home.

Freda Rose

Freda L. Rose, age 83 died at 6:57 p.m. on January 15, 2008 at the Judson Palmer Home. She was born on February 4, 1924 in Cass Township to the late Don E. and Edith C. (Horner) Wineland. Freda is also preceded in death by her husband Glen L. Rose. Surviving Freda is her brother Robert (Eleanor) Wineland of Pemberville, OH, sister Helen (Clarence) Oestreich of Lagrange, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on TUESDAY, January 22, 2008 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Paul Sittason Stark officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 Tuesday before the service. Burial will be in Bechtel cemetery, Allen Township. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Freda to the Judson Palmer Home, 2911 N. Main St, Findlay, OH 45840.

William D. "Bill" Riegle

William D. "Bill" Riegle, age 69, of rural Findlay passed peacefully surrounded by his family at 11:15 AM Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital. Bill passed following a brief and unexpected illness he had suffered on December 26, 2007. He was born on October 20, 1938 in Blanchard Twp. Hancock County to the late Hallie and Ethel (Kidd) Riegle. On November 1, 1959, he married Hope Stauffer and she survives. Also surviving are five children, Larry (Barb) Riegle of Arlington; Tami (Rob) Heiman of Highland, MI; Lori (Kelly) Wolfe of Findlay; Allen (Jennifer) Riegle of Findlay; and Mark (Molly) Riegle of rural Arlington; fourteen grandchildren, Sarah, Aaron and Adam Riegle; Luke, Blake and Ross Heiman; Ryan, Mitchell and Heather Wolfe; Brooke and Nathan Riegle; Isabelle, Grant and Cade Riegle; two great-grandchildren, Taylah and Aliyah Riegle; two sisters, Maxine (David) Gerber of New Holland; Shirley Hendricks of Findlay; and brother, Don (Jeannette) Riegle of Carey. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Riegle; brothers, Richard and Dean Riegle and sisters, Doris (Jack) Alge; Betty (Leo) Bowers and Jane (Jim) Borkosky. Bill was a 1956 graduate of Mt. Blanchard High School. He was a life-long farmer and one of the founders of Riegle Brothers Excavating. He and his wife are members of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church East. A member of the Marion Twp. Zoning Board, Jackson Twp. Zoning Board of Appeals, the Hancock County Farm Bureau, the UCOA Gun Club; the GMC International RV Club, GMC Great Lakers and was proud to have traveled to 49 of the 50 states. Bill was an innovative man who had great mechanical aptitude and always felt "at home" in his shop . He enjoyed RV travels with his wife Hope, bi-annual fishing trips to Canada and loved to tell stories and jokes. He is greatly loved and will always be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 19, 2008 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay with Pastor David Noel officiating. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery, Mt. Blanchard. Visitation will be from 1:00-9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church East, 10720 TR 190, Findlay, Ohio 45840 or Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, Ohio 45840.

Eva Jo Hines

Eva Jo Hines, age 65 of 921 Central Ave. in Findlay, died at 7:55am on Friday January 18, 2008 at her residence. She was born on July 28, 1942 in Wayne, West Virginia to the late Boyd and Gladys Faye (Lane) Davis. She married Gary Ronald Hines on March 16, 1963 in Waverly, Ohio and he survives. Also surviving are 2 sons: Franklin B. (Debra) Hines of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and Terry A. Hines of Findlay as well as 1 daughter: Norma L. (Jay) Crates of Findlay. She also has 3 brothers: Ernest J. (Beverly) Davis and Boyd (Brenda) Davis Jr. both of Findlay and Glen (Mary) Davis of Carey and 6 sisters: Ada H. (Don) Leatherwood of Chillicothe, Geneva (Mitchell) Jenkins of Givens, Nola (Richard) Brown of Xenia, Glenna Niederkohr of Carey, Wanda S. (Jim) Nichelson of Florida, and Peggy Earhart of Findlay. She also has 2 grandchildren: Jessica L. (Brent) Risser and Joshua A. Crates as well as 2 great grandchildren: Nathan L. and Andrew T. Risser. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Tami Lynne Hines and a brother: Adrian Davis. She had worked for 30 years at the Budd Company in Carey and previous to that she was employeed by Westinghouse in Upper Sandusky. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay where funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Monday. Interment will be at Knollcrest cemetery with Pastor David Rouch officiating. Memorials may be made to either Bridge Home Health and Hospice or to Cancer Patient Services.

Lucile M. Bird

Lucile M. Bird, 98, a resident of the Judson Palmer Home, died Saturday morning, January 19, 2008. Lucile was born October 27, 1909 in Orange Twp., Hancock County to the late Ira N. & Maryetta (Hutchinson) Brundige. She married John F. Bird on March 24, 1934 and he died June 4, 1985. Surviving are a son, David W. (Kathleen A.) Bird of rural Vanlue; a daughter, Sue E. (Walter W.) Crum, Jr. of Findlay; six grandchildren, Rhonda, Randy, Robin, Laurie, Scott and Terry; twelve great-grandchildren, Natalie, Paige, Alex, Cody, Taylor, John, Amanda, Ashley, Broklyn, Miranda, Austin and Dustin. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ray H. Brundige. Lucile was a homemaker and a nurse. She was a former resident of the Grand Court, Findlay. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor David A. Shaffer, officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Judson Palmer Home or Bridge Home Health & Hospice.

Ann M. "Annie" Gibson

Ann M. "Annie" Gibson Ann Merrill Gibson, age 56, of rural Findlay passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday morning January 19, 2008. She was born on December 3, 1951 in Sidney, Nebraska to William S. and Nancy C. (Fuller) Sargent, her mother survives in Findlay. On August 7, 1976, she married Albert S. Gibson and he survives. Also surviving are three children, Clinton (Shawna) Gibson of Findlay; Laura (Josh) Podach of Findlay; and Lucas (Tiphanie Kirk) Gibson of Alvada; step-daughter, Tracy (Anthony) Salamay of Columbus; grandson, Maxwell Podach and two brothers, William Sargent of Houston, TX; and Dean (Cora) Sargent of San Francisco, CA. She was preceded in death by her father. Ann was a graduate of Findlay High School and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Findlay. She was a substitute teacher for both the Findlay City Schools and Blanchard Valley School where she also served as a bus aide. Ann was a volunteer for Special Kids Therapy and thoroughly enjoyed working with special needs children. She and her husband attended the Upper Room Church of God. Ann enjoyed traveling with Al to Virginia and their trips to Lake Erie. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her new grandson, Maxwell. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services celebrating Ann's life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Upper Room Church of God, Findlay with Pastor Terry McBeath officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest cemetery, east of Findlay. Family and friends may call from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Kids Therapy, 1333 Lima Ave., Findlay, OH 45840 in her memory.
