Nancy S. Weiss
After a long and wonderful life of fierce independence and devotion to The Golden Rule, Nancy S. Weiss lost her fight with an extended illness. She was 92. Born into small town Pennsylvania in a family that had arrived 200 years earlier, educated in a one room schoolhouse, she was the first in her family to graduate from college (Penn State) and graduate school (Carnegie Tech). With her masters of library science in hand, she worked as a children's librarian in Washington, D.C. until her late husband, Walt, convinced her to move to Emporium, Pennsylvania, where her four children, Janet, Patricia, Stephen and Robert Matthew, were born. All survive. Arriving in Findlay with Walt in 1971, after living in several other states, she was active in the community as a member and President of the Garden Club, an avid golfer, avid bridge player and an active and proud member of the local chapter of the American Association of University Women. She died at The Heritage surrounded by her family.
