Elmer F. Crane, age 81, of 126 Huron Road, Findlay died at 4:47 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Birchaven Retirement Village. He was born on August 27, 1922 to Glenn C. and Estelle C. (Otto) Crane. He married
Helen L. Beemer on July 19, 1945 and she died on April 2, 2001. He is survived by one son, David A. (Lois) Crane of Findlay; and a daughter Peggy A. Shackelford of Van Buren; and 3 grandchildren. Mr. Crane had been employed by Burdett/AGA Gas for 29 years as a truck driver, dock worker and dispatcher. He was a member of the Hancock Handlebars, the YMCA, and the F.H.R.C. He served in the United States Marine Corp. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-2:30pm at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky St., Findlay, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday. Pastor William H. Reist will officiate and burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery in Findlay. Betty King, age 68, of Oak Harbor and formerly of Findlay, died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, June 6, 2004 at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, Ohio. She was born on June 7, 1935 to William H. and Olive E. (Wilkins) Brocksieker in Gibsonburg, Ohio. She married
Ralph E. King on March 14, 1955 in Angola, Indiana and he survives. Also surviving are: one daughter, Tonia S. (Larry) Wymer of Van Buren, Ohio; two grandsons, Timothy R. (Jackie) Wymer of Acworth, Georgia and Nickolas E. Wymer of Van Buren, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Audrey, Devin, Elise and Seth, one sister, Judy (Larry) Durain of Van Buren; and one brother, William (Donna) Brocksieker of McComb. Mrs. King was preceded in death by one sister, JoAnn Honecker-Young and one brother, Bobby Brocksieker. She had worked at Findlay Industries for twenty years and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. Aside from her deep love for her family and friends, she also took time out to appreciate the wonders of nature. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9789 W. Oak Harbor SE Rd. Oak Harbor, Ohio 43449 or to the American Cancer Society, 110 South Main St. Findlay, Ohio 45840. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Cheryl Ressel and Rev. Ben Lowell officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest cemetery, East of Findlay. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Dale E. VanVorce, 88, formerly of 138 Clifton Ave., Findlay died at 4:20 P.M. Thursday July 29, 2004 at Blakely Care Center, North Baltimore. Born on September 9, 1915 in Wood County to Carl and Elizebth (Wolfe) VanVorce and both are deceased. On October 19, 1936 he married
Iris Dishong and she died October 2, 1996. Dale is survived by his daughter Virginia "Ginny" Long of Findlay, along with 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Two brothers Ray and Fred VanVorce, and two sisters, Thelma Feak and Clara Romaker all preceded Dale in death. Dale retired from Garwood Industries and served his country in World War II receiving two Purple Hearts while serving in the U.S. Navy in both the European and Pacific Theaters. Dale belonged to: Ralph D. Cole Post No 3 American Legion, Disabled Americn Veterans Buddy Chapter No 43, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5645, AMVETS Post No 21, Loyal Order of Moose No. 698 and he attended Hammonsburg School. Funeral services will be at 11:00A.M. Monday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Dutch VanderVlucht officiating. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens. Full military graveside service will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorials Squad. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Leroy F. Bormuth

Leroy F. Bormuth, 83, of rural Arlington died at 11:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2004 at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. He was born on May 28, 1921 in Eagle Twp. to George and Ida Marie (Rettig) Bormuth. He married
Esther E. Riegle on Aug. 15, 1942 and she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Velma D. Weihrauch. Leroy was a retired farmer, a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Delaware Twp. where he served as a trustee and was a chorister for 53 years. He was a member of the following: AARP Board in Findlay, the Arlington Elevator Board of Directors and the Good Samaritan Care Center Board of Directors. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II serving in the European Theatre of operations and he survived the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Arlington VFW. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004 at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington with Pastor Bruce Ford officiating. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery, Delaware Twp. where Full Military Rites will be conducted by the Arlington VFW memorial squad. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in his memory.

Glenn R. “Deafy” Kerr, 70 of Findlay, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, August 1, 2004 at his residence. He was born on June 16, 1934 in Bowling Green, to Joseph and Jessie (Crawford) Kerr. He married
Jan Misamore on April 7, 1990 and she survives. Mr. Kerr retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company after 42 years, he previously attended State School for Deaf in Columbus, was a member of the D.A.V. No. 43, Loyal Order of Moose No. 698, Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 2118, and Amvets No. 21. Also surviving are a son David (Annette), Jenera; daughter Glenna (Harry) Saxion, Tiffin; granddaughters Leah Saxion, Tiffin and Tia Collier, Findlay; sister Mrs. Ethel (Shorty) Lentz, Findlay; brothers Cecil, North Baltimore, Buck (Alice), McComb, and Gerald (Lou Ann), Deshler. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother Chester; sisters Blanche King and Anna Stump. A funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private. Pastor Chris Cravens officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in care of Coldren-Crates Funeral Home.

Leora Rosella Ehrnsberger, age 71, of Findlay went home to the Lord on Sunday, August 1, 2004. She died at 4:40 p.m. at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay. She was born Dec. 15, 1932 in Wyandot, Co. to Oyama and Viola (McCleary) Obenour. She married
Donald E. Ehrnsberger on Jan. 21, 1977 and he survives. Also surviving are: a brother Everett Obenour of McComb; two daughters, Mrs. John (Marianne) Baker of Findlay and Mrs. Columbus (Pamela) Human of Mt. Blanchard; three step-sons, David Ehrnsberger of Elida; Donald L. Ehrnsberger and Randall Ehrnsberger, both of Lima; one step-daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Phyllis) Rupert of VanWert; 17 granchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a step-son Dennis Ehrnsberger, and a grandson Jacob Rizor. Mrs. Ehrnsberger was a teacher with the Findlay City Schools for 30 years. She was an avid traveler, having traveled to all 50 states and 41 countries. She was Current Regent of the Fort Findlay Chapter D.A.R., a member of the Lady Grace Chetwood Chapter Colonial Dames 17th Century, a life-member of OEA-NEA and Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She held a number of offices and contributed to numerous programs and book reviews. She was a 1950 graduate of Dola High School and went on to receive her B.S. and Masters in Education from Bowling Green State University. She attended four other colleges, including The University of Findlay where she was involved with the concert band. Mrs. Ehrnsberger studied abroad in Spain through the University of Santa Clara, CA. She presented programs for circles and nursing homes and was the co-chair of the Hancock Co. Retired Teachers Travel Program. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church where she participated in choirs and instrumentals. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Findlay with Pastor Erick Moon and John Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at COLDREN-CRATES FUENRAL HOME, Findlay. Memorial contributions can be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice and/or D.A.R.
