Jerald C. Applegate, 55 of Homestead, Florida died April 24, 2000. Mr. Applegate was born May 12, 1944 in Mansfield, Ohio residing in Homestead, Florida most of his life. He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ and Rotary Club.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanne Marcella Elias Applegate of Homestead, Florida; a son, Jeffery Applegate of Denver, Colorado; three step-sons, Glenn Knorr of Winterpark, Colorado; Scott Knorr of Homestead, Florida; Donovan Miller; one step-daughter, Melanie Hodges of Homestead, Florida; one brother and sister-in-law, Raymond & Virginia Applegate of Mansfield, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clare and Evelyn (Warner) Applegate.
Graveside services will be held Monday, May 1, 2000 at Mansfield cemetery, conducted by Rev. Lon McSherley. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors are handling the arrangements.

Catherine F. (Roeger) Haring
August 12, 1902 - May 09, 2000
Catherine F. Roeger Haring, 97, of 640 S. Lex-Springmill Rd. died Tuesday, May 9, 2000.
She was born August 12, 1902 in Gleichen, Germany to Kathyrn and Frederick Roeger. She was the fifth child in a family of seven girls and five boys. Her surviving sisters, Lydia Huebner and Martha Minich, reside in Mansfield.
Catherine came to America in 1923; she worked for relatives in Tremont, Ill. Then moved to Peoria, Ill. In 1927 she married Nicholas Haring Jr. of Mansfield, founder of Haring Jewelers; they celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death in June 1986.
She was a homemaker, a dedicated mother and grandmother, an active member of the Apostolic Christian Church, a Vacation Bible School teacher, a Woodland School volunteer, a Girl Scout volunteer and a member of the La Sertoma Club.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Marian Blahnik and Elanie and David Pavkov; four sons and daughters-in-laws, Dr. Frederick and Linda Haring, Kenneth and Ellen Haring all of Mansfield, OH; Paul and Peggy Haring of Kailua, Hawaii, Dr. Roger and Linda Haring of Saugus, CA; twenty-two grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and relatives in Ohio, Illinois, Colorado, Oregon and Germany.
Calling hours will be Monday, May 15, 2000 at the Ontario Wappner Funeral Home from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. A service of celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, May 16 at the Ontario Christian Fellowship Church. Burial will be in Mansfield cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of North Central Ohio or the Nickolas and Catherine Haring Music Memorial Fund in care of the Ontario Christian Fellowship.

Kohler J. Barker
April 01, 1975 - June 07, 2000
Kohler J. Barker, 25, died unexpectedly in Columbus, Ohio. He was born April 1, 1975 in Cleveland, Ohio. Kohler was valedictorian of his 1993 Mansfield Senior High class and a student at Ohio State University.
He is survived by his mother, Jean (Lewis) Barker of Mansfield; his father, Joe Barker of Cicero, Indiana; one brother, Brad Barker of Mansfield; his maternal grandparents, Brad & Dorey Lewis of Mansfield; his paternal grandparents, Eli & Daphne Barker of Nederland, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to a Memorial Service to be held Monday, June 12, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Dr. Abraham Brandyberry. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield Senior High Library Fund as a way of remembering Kohler’s love of books and learning.

Elizabeth Jane Anthony
November 16, 1913 - June 09, 2000
Elizabeth “Betty” Jane Boyd Anthony, 86, of Mansfield died Friday morning, June 9, 2000 at Mifflin Care Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Anthony was born November 16, 1913 in Mansfield, Ohio living in the area all of her life. She was a lifelong member of Linden Rd. Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Community Garden Club.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia & Dale Dohner of Ashland; one son and daughter-in-law, Boyd & Patricia Anthony of Mansfield; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, William C. Boyd of Ridgeville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Carl & Edna Pearl (Grove) Boyd; her husband, Jack Raymond Anthony; and a brother, James C. Boyd.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 12, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Lewis VanderNaald. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Linden Rd. Presbyterian Church Children’s Ministries.

Pauline Margaret (Parks) Black
September 23, 1919 - June 13, 2000
Pauline Margaret (Parks) Black, age 80, of Fredericktown, died early Tuesday morning June 13, 2000 at home following an extended illness. Mrs. Black was born September 23 1919 in Jefferson County, Ohio living in the Mansfield-Fredericktown area for 45 years. Mrs. Black was a member of Taylor Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Stanley R. Black of Charlotte, North Carolina; a daughter, Nancy Norris of Fredericktown, Ohio; a sister, Ruth Mills; a brother, Ross Parks of Corpus Christi, Texas; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross & Elizabeth Margaret (Miller) Parks; her husband, Francis W. Black; a son, Jimmy Black; a daughter, Clara Wiseman; two sisters; a granddaughter and a grandson.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to the funeral service which, will be held Thursday June 15, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Albert Page. Burial will be in Mansfield cemetery.

Virginia Elaine (Witchey) Tupps
April 26, 1916 - July 05, 2000
Virginia Elaine (Witchey) Tupps, age 84, of 1475 Maple Locust Drive, died Wednesday evening at Mifflin Care Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Tupps was born April 26, 1916 in Indiana living in the Mansfield area all of her life. She had worked for Ritters and Gorman Rupp.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Roger & Charlotte Tupps of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Roger Tupps II of North Carolina, Thomas Tupps of Mansfield, and Melisa Tupps of Newport News, Virginia; six great-grandchildren, a number of step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Richard Sr. & Janet Witchey of Crestline. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben & Laurraine (Duncan) Witchey; her husband, Walter "Barney" Tupps; and infant twin daughters.
There will be no calling hours or services held at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors.

Rosetta (Nash) Moore
April 14, 1920 - July 29, 2000
Rosetta (Nash) Moore, age 80, of 1751 S.R. 314 North, Crestline, Ohio, died Saturday evening at Mansfield Memorial Homes following an extended illness. Mrs. Moore was born April 14, 1920 in Wooster, Ohio and has been a area resident since 1963. Mrs. Moore was a member of the First Christian Church, a graduate of Crestline High School Class of 1938 and Allegheny Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She had worked at The Cleveland Clinic, PPG as a night duty nurse and retired from Mansfield Memorial Homes in 1986 where she was the Director of Nursing and was a former trustee at Mansfield Memorial Homes and a member of AARP.
Surviving are one daughter, Deborah Jolly of Ft. Myers, Florida; one son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Mary Moore of Crestline, one granddaughter and spouse, Macy Ann and Jesse Romero of Miami Beach, Florida; one grandson, Michael James Moore of Crestline; a step-grandson, Christopher Scott Leedy; one sister, Pauline Fisher of California; two nephews and spouse, Tom and Glenda Fisher of California and Jim Fisher of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Wells and Edith Clive (Reynolds) Nash, her husband, James H. Moore and one granddaughter, Candice Weigler.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to memorial services on Thursday, August 3, 2000 which will held at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Terry J. Marsh. Burial will be private in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rosetta Moore Memorial Tree Fund in care of Mansfield Memorial Homes.

Ola M. (Herriott) Hobart
March 22, 1905 - July 29, 2000
Ola M. (Herriott) Hobart, 95, formerly of 915 Pennsylvania Avenue, passed away Saturday afternoon at Med Central Mansfield following a brief illness. Mrs. Hobart was born March 22, 1905 in Union County, Ohio to Frank & Retta (Tossey) Herriott. Mrs. Hobart was a homemaker and was a member of the Watkins Christian Church in Watkins, Ohio.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald & Dallas Hobart of Mansfield; two Grandchildren, Larry Hobart and Janet Welborn; three Great Grandchildren and three Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband L. Dow Hobart, her parents, two brothers Ernie Herriott and Emmett "Ben" Herriott, and one sister Frances Clymer.
Friends and family may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday August 1, 2000 one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service. Services will be conducted by Rev. Paul Haney. Burial will be held in Oakdale cemetery in Marysville, Ohio, Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.

David Arbaugh
February 05, 1920 - September 03, 2000
David Arbaugh, age 80, of 3026 Hastings-Newville Road, died early Sunday morning at Lexington Court Nursing Home following a brief illness. Mr. Arbaugh was born February 5, 1920 in Canton, Ohio and has been an area resident most of his life. Mr. Arbaugh was a retired Judge, having served the Richland County Court of Common Pleas in the Domestic Relations and Juvenile Division. Mr. Arbaugh was a member of Reigning in Life Church, was a WW II Army Veteran serving as Captain in The Corps of Engineers. Mr. Arbaugh received his Bachelor Degree from Bucknell University and obtained his law degree from Ohio Northern University.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Marjorie (Maglott) Arbaugh of Mansfield, one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Gwen Arbaugh of Mansfield, one daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Gary Delk of Mansfield, two granddaughters and spouses, Kiley Arbaugh and Kelley and Tyler Armstead all of Mansfield, one great grandson, Austin Armstead also of Mansfield; two half brothers, Robert McCally of Tyler, Texas and Edward McCally of Phoenix, Arizona and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alice (McCally) Arbaugh, one son, David Arbaugh II, one brother, Charles McCally, one sister, Betty Hayledine.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, September 7, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Rev. Joseph Sprowl. Burial will be in Mansfield cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Reigning in Life Church, 324 E. Main St. Lexington, Ohio 44904.
