Recker, Ruth

Kalida – Ruth M. Recker, 89, of Kalida died Sunday, February 8, 2004 at 6:55 pm at Putnam Acres Care Center in Ottawa.
Mrs. Recker was born October 24, 1914 in Ft. Jennings to Louis and Louise (Raymond) Brockman. On April 7, 1936 she married
Robert J. Recker. He died January 23, 1976.
Survivers include a son, Donald “Mick” Recker of Salem, Mo; a daughter, Carol Schroeder, of Leipsic; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 step-grandchldren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Cleo (Cis) Brockman of Ft. Jennings.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Raymond Brockman; and a sister, Mary Brockman.
Mrs. Recker worked for GTE Sylvania for 28 years and was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida.
A mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kalida with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery, Ft. Jennings, Oh. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Memorial donations may be made to Putnam Acres Care Center.
JACKSON, TAUREAN

WOODBRIDGE. VA. - Taurean A. “T.J.” Jackson, 19, of Woodbridge, Va, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax, Va. following a motor vehicle accident. He was born in Wrzburg, Germany on September 16, 1984 to Jerry “Jay” and Tina (Cervantes) Jackson. His parents survive in Woodbridge, Va. Also surviving are two brothers: David Jackson and Jermaine “Chip” Jackson and a half-sister: Iesha Johnson all of Woodbridge; paternal grandmother: Mary Jackson of Atlanta, Ga; maternal grandparents: Rachel Cervantes and Joseph Cervantes, Sr. both of Leipsic.
Mr. Jackson graduated from Woodson High School in Fairfax, Va. He worked as a warehouse clerk.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 6, 2004 at the Church of the Nazarene in Leipsic with Rev. Darrell Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Ridge cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Saturday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour before services on Sunday at the Church.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
ELLERBROCK, HENRIETTA M.

GLANDORF – Henrietta M. Ellerbrock, 93, of Glandorf died 7:30 am Tuesday, August 03, 2004 at Calvary Manor Nursing Home in Glandorf. She was born June 12, 1911 in Delphos to Henry and Philomena (Gremling) Elwer. On June 26, 1935, she married
Albert F. Ellerbrock. He died October 27, 1982.
Surviving is a son: Kenneth (Joan) Ellerbrock of Glandorf, a son-in-law: Richard Shultz of Van Wert; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Marcile (Norman) Schmitz of Glandorf and Irma Grismore of Delphos. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Helen Shultz; 2 brothers: Clarence and Virgil Elwer; 3 sisters: Alfreda Elwer, Martha Solberg and Pauline Rabe.
Mrs. Ellerbrock retired as a cook for Glandorf School. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 7, 2004 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Harold Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where the Altar Rosary and CLC will have a service at 7:30 pm on Friday.
Memorial may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
SIEFKER, MARTHA A.

KALIDA – Martha A. Siefker, 82, of Kalida, died 6:30 pm Thursday, August 5, 2004 at her residence. She was born December 11, 1921 in Glandorf to Frank and Rosa (Barlage) Duling. Her parents are deceased. On August 22, 1945, she married
Edwin L. Siefker. He died October 31, 1985.
Surviving are six children: Carl (Connie) Siefker of Columbus Grove; Brother Virgil Siefker of Swainsboro, Ga.; Agnes (Marvin) Recker of Glandorf; Arnold Siefker, Marjorie (Ed) Verhoff and Mary (Steve) Smith all of Kalida; 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Alphons Duling and Victor (Dorothy) Duling both of Glandorf; a sister-in-law: Edna (George) Finkler of Toledo. She was predeceased by a brother: Amos Duling.
Mrs. Siefker was a homemaker. She loved the farm, driving tractors, quilting, playing bingo and cards. She passed to our Lord peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kalida and its Altar Rosary Society.
A funeral mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2004 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Scott Kramer and other concelebrants officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A scripture service will be held at 3 p.m. and rosary altar service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice or Glenmary Home Missions.
BUCKLAND, ROBERT H.

Ottawa – Robert H. Buckland, 77 of Ottawa, died Friday, January 9, 2004 at 3:00 am at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay.
Mr. Buckland was born July 28, 1926 in Hancock Co. to Louis and Clara (Heiing) Buckland who preceed him in death. On September 22, 1949 he married
Ina Riepenhoff who survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include 2 sons: Michael J. (Karen) of Winter Haven, FL, and Mark R. (Amy) of Holland, OH; 2 daughters: Nancy K. Wannemacher of Ottoville, and Carolyn S. (Paul) Schmersal of Ottawa; 8 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 2 step great-grandchildren; and a brother: Ray (Jean) of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Art, Carl and Paul and a sister: Marie Cutler.
Mr. Buckland retired from Philips Display Components in mechanical maintenance. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa; a WWII Navy Veteran; member of Ottawa American Legion; Ottawa VFW; Ottawa Knights of Columbus; Ottawa Eagles; Railfans Train Club; Quarter Century Club of Philips Display Components; and volunteer for Ottawa American Legion and Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
A mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 am Monday, January 12, 2004 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa with Fr. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial will be in the Church with military rites by the Ottawa Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 7-9 pm Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, OTTAWA. Additional services include a scripture service at 3 pm, Legion and VFW service at 7 pm, and a rosary by the Knights of Columbus at 8:30 pm all Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul School Endowment Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
OEDY, ERFORD M.

NEW BAVARIA – Erford M. Oedy, 91, formerly of New Bavaria, died 3:40 pm Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa. He was born February 7, 1913 in New Bavaria to Michael and Lillian (Erford) Oedy who preceded him in death.
On May 17, 1939, he married
Salome Kaufman and she died March 5, 1984. He then married
Helena (Gilgenbaugh) Breece on April 10, 1985 and she survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving are 2 sons: William (Jane) Oedy of Miller City, Fr. Thomas Oedy of Edgerton; 2 daughters: Diana (Gary) Meyer of Glandorf, Patricia (Jim) Murray of Oregon; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 2 step-daughters: Ramona (Walter) Gordon of Findlay, Becky (Grant) Straley of Deshler; 2 step-daughters-in-law: Dee Dee Breece and Midge Breece both of Ottawa; 2 sisters: Mary Kathryn Evans of Holgate, Kathleen (Cleo) Schroeder of Leipsic. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Clifton Oedy and two step-sons: Louis and Ben Breece.
Mr. Oedy was a farmer and a carpenter. He had worked for 17 years at Nienberg Supply Co. in Glandorf. He was a former member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in North Creek, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Deshler and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Bavaria. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Holy Name Society and Catholic Knights of Ohio.
A Mass of Christian burial will be begin at 9:30 am Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria with Fr. Thomas Oedy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday and 2 to 8 pm Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where scripture will be held at 7:30 pm. Friday.

Kuhlman, Kenneth

OTTAWA – Goober, 66, of Ottawa, died 9:50 pm, Thursday, October 7, 2004 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
Mr. Kuhlman was born September 10, 1938 in New Cleveland, to Urban and Leona (Kohls) Kuhlman who preceded him in death. On May 4, 1963 he married
Susie Unverferth. She died January 2, 1999.
Survivors include a son, Russell (Dawn) Kuhlman of Ottawa; a daughter, Julie (Steve) Daily of Dayton; 3 grandchildren, Kelby, Cameron, and Zach Kuhlman of Ottawa; 3 brothers, Jerry (Joan) Kuhlman, Mark (Laura) Kuhlman, and Dan Kuhlman all of Ottawa; and a sister, Marilyn (Jerry) Stechschulte of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Schroeder.
Mr. Kuhlman retired in 1998 from Philips Display Components in Ottawa. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa; the Ohio National Guard; Ottawa Eagles; Ottawa VFW; Ottawa American Legion; Ottawa Knights of Columbus; Indian Lake Moose Lodge; Elks; and enjoyed performing as Elvis as a member of the Caravan of Stars.
A mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Tom Hemm officiating. A committal service will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Monday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with a scripture service held at 3:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Diocelina Lara Romero, 91, of Gilboa, died 5:45 pm Thursday, October 21, 2004 at her residence. She was born March 26, 1913 in Alamo, Tx. to Margarito and Camila (Uvealla) Lara. On February 29, 1944 she married
Reynaldo J. Romero, Sr. He died May 11, 1996. Also surviving are 5 children: Ramona Mares of Alamo, Tx., Juanita (Francisco) Lopez of Findlay, Rolando (Margie) Romero and Rommel (Alajandra) Romero both of Gilboa and Roberto (Maribell) Romero of Leipsic; 25 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother: Marcario (Amanda) Lara of Alamo, Tx; 3 sisters: Lucia Escobedo and Maria Mireles both of Florida, Anita Alveraz of Oklahoma. She was predeceased by a son: Reynaldo J. Romero, Jr.; 2 brothers: Lupe and Andres Esperaza; 3 sisters: Elena Martinez, Manula Gutierrez and Vincenta Alvardo.
Mrs. Romero was a homemaker. She had worked from 1963 to 1973 at Libby, McNeil & Libby in Leipsic; she was a member of Pentecostal Church of God in Gilboa; a former member of the Guadalupe Society and F.L.O.C., a loving wife, mother and grandmother at all times.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Monday, October 25, 2004 at the Pentecostal Church of God in Gilboa. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and from 10 am until time of service Monday at the church.
SERVISS, LISA J.

Lisa J. Serviss, 46, of Ottawa, Oh died 3:03 pm Friday, October 22, 2004 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born August 20, 1958 in Fremont, Oh to Raymond and Marvel (Rarig) Brockschmidt. Her father is deceased. Her mother survives in Rocky Ridge, Oh. On November 5, 1977, she married
Douglas Serviss who survives in Ottawa. Also surviving are two children: Stephanie Serviss and Andrew Serviss both at home and a brother: Butch (Cindy) Brockschmidt of Clyde.
Mrs. Serviss worked at Ottawa Walmart as a lead associate in the Cash Office. She was a member of New Creation Lutheran Church in Ottawa where she was a member of the Church Choir. She was also a member of the Ottawa Eagles Auxilliary and the Putnam County Board of Elections.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at New Creation Luthern Church with Rev. Ken Pollitz officiating. Burial will be Thursday, October 28, 2004, 11:00 am at Elliston cemetery in Elliston, Oh.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Monday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, OTTAWA, OH where the Eagles Auxilliary will have a service at 7:00 pm.
Memorials may be sent to Shriner's Hospital or St. Jude's Hospital.

Ottawa – David Ortiz, 47, of Ottawa, died Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 12:20 AM at Putnam Acres Care Center in Ottawa.
Mr. Ortiz was born July 16, 1956 in Mathis, TX to Saturnino and Victoria (Davila) Ortiz. They are deceased.
Surviving are 6 sisters: Mary (Pete) Andrades of New Deal, TX, Yolanda (Tony) Ortiz of Abernathy, TX, Lupe (Bill) Olin of Lubbock, TX, Rachel (Tony) Castillo of Weatherford, TX, Dolores (Juan) Fraire of Lubbock, TX, and Beatrice (David) Velasquez of Ottawa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Victoria Ortiz.
Mr. Ortiz was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He worked at Walmart.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, October 18, 2003 at Love Funeral Home in Ottawa. Brother Robert Corlew will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-2 PM Saturday before the service at LOVE FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
MARTIN, CARL A.

Carl A. “Sonny” Martin, 78, of Defiance, formerly of Leipsic, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at Defiance Hospital. He was born September 10, 1926 in Ottawa to Dewel and Eleanor (Weis) Martin. One January 4, 1946, he married
Doris Jones and she survives in Defiance. Also surviving are 2 daughters: Sandra Rizor of Topeka, Ks; Joyce (Larry) Casteel of Defiance; 1 son: Carl Martin, Jr.; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Harold “Hap” Martin of Leipsic and Francis (Joyce) Martin of Ottawa. He was predeceased by a sister: Ruth Ann Beining.
Mr. Martin retired as a self-employed painter. He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of the Leipsic VFW.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Love Funeral Home, Leipsic with Rev. Tim Eding officiating. Burial will be on Tuesday, December 7, 2004, 3:00 pm. at Center cemetery, West Leipsic. Visitation will be from 11 am until time of service on Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
