Mary Rose Peter, 71, 9231 W. TR 112, Fostoria, died at 6:26 a.m. Friday, April 10, 1998, at Mercy Hospital, Tiffin.
She was born July 8, 1926, in Berwick to Edward N. and Hilda C. (Wickelman) Reinhart. Both are deceased. On Aug. 17, 1946, she married
Raymond F. Peter in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown. He survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Francis Peter of Albuquerque, N.M., David Peter of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Michael Peter of Gibsonburg; three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Aileen) Schreiner of Fostoria, Mrs. James (Kathleen) McManus of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Ronald (Theresa) Sheets of Fostoria; three brothers, Lawrence Reinhart of Oregon, Ohio, Wendelin Reinhart of Bloomville and Eugene Reinhart of Willard; a sister, Bernadine Reitzel of Genoa; 21 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Nichols and Leona Reinhart, and a brother, Joseph Reinhart.
Mrs. Peter was a homemaker and retired from Copeland. She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, and its Rosary Altar Society, and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Fostoria.
The Rev. David Bruning will officiate the noon Monday service at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom. Burial will be at St. Nicholas cemetery, Frenchtown.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, and one hour prior to Mass at the church Monday. A Christian Wake Service will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Richard L. Callendar
Former Tiffin resident
Richard L. Callendar, 78, 2517 Fairway Drive, Fremont, formerly of Tiffin, died at 8:10 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Firelands Hospital, Sandusky.
He was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Tiffin to Charles and Edith (Merchant) Callendar. On Nov. 24, 1949, he married
Margaret Horn in Fremont. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Richard L. Callendar Jr. of Columbus; two brothers, Charles Callendar of California and Howard Callendar of Jackson, Mich.; three sisters, Mary Mitchell of Westland, Mich., Jean Coleman of Cincinnati and Marjorie Newsome of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Callendar was a Tiffin high school graduate and a fighter pilot for the Army Air Corps during World War II. A partner in Wright-Callendar Buick in Clyde and owner of Dick Callendar Buick in Fremont, he retired in 1987. He served as past president of the Fremont Country Club and Fremont Outing Club.
The funeral will be at a later date. Burial will be at St. Joseph's cemetery. The Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home of Fremont is handling the arrangements.
Ruth Maxine Pressler
Former area resident
Ruth Maxine Pressler, 78, of Cape Canaveral, Fla., died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 1998. She was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Bowling Green to Thomas and Ruth (Brickle) Swinehart. She was married
for 60 years to Donald Pressler. He survives.
Other survivors include: two brothers, Jim Swinehart of Fostoria and Bill Swinehart of Lima; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Ruth Alice Motes; and two brothers, George and Thomas Swinehart.
Mrs. Pressler retired from the Florida National Bank of Orlando, Fla. Memberships included: Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 297 of Cocoa Beach and the Pythian Sisters Lodge 6 of Orlando.
The Rev. Lucinda Hunter will officiate the 11 a.m., Monday service at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be at the Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation hours are 7-9 p.m Sunday at the funeral home.

Dr. James F. Woodruff
Fremont dentist
James F. Woodruff, DDS, 66, Sandusky CR 223, Fremont, died in his home Friday, April 10, 1998. He was born Feb. 8, 1932, in Chicago, Ill., to William F. and Mary Elizabeth Woodruff. Both are deceased.
On Aug. 7, 1954, he married
Bonnie Armour. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Thomas F. Woodruff, DDS, of Fremont, Timothy J. and William R. Woodruff, both of Clyde; three daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Christi) Fox of Bellevue, Mrs. Mark (Kathryn) Franks of Washington, Mich., and Mrs. Scott (Susan) Keegan of Clyde; a sister, Mrs. Daniel (Janet) McCarthy of Bridgeport, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; and nephews.
Dr. Woodruff was a Euclid High School graduate of 1950. He graduated from Kent State University and the Western Reserve Dental School in 1958. He operated his own dentistry practice for 36 years, retiring in June 1993. Memberships included: St. Mary's Catholic Church; Pheasants Forever; American Dental Association; North Central Ohio Dental Society; one of the original, and former members of St. Mary's School Board; and former Knights of Columbus and Clyde Exchange Club.
The Rev. Peter Zafe will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday service at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde. Burial will be at the church.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with Christian wake services at 9.
Memorials may be made to Sandusky County Hospice or St. Mary's Church.

Robert A. Schleter, 62, of 140 S. Sandusky St. died at 11:05 a.m. Friday, April 10, 1998, in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital, Tiffin.
Arrangements are pending at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., where friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, and a Wake Service will be at 8 p.m. Monday. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Delbert E. 'Sam' Weaver
Retired stationary engineer
Delbert E. "Sam" Weaver, 87, died at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at his residence at 254 E. Perry St., McCutchenville.
He was born in Crawford County, Jan. 20, 1911, to Henry and Eva (Zimmerman) Weaver. On June 12, 1937, he married
Leta Campbell. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Larry G. Weaver of Selma, N.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Linda) McIntyre of Pinellas Park, Fla., Judy Weaver of Woodville and Carol Latham of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and four sisters are deceased.
Mr. Weaver retired as a stationary engineer in 1980 from the former Tiffin State Hospital, after 18 years of employment.
A member of Sycamore United Methodist Church, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and building miniature steam engines.
The Rev. Van Fisher will conduct the 11 a.m. Saturday service in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge cemetery, Sycamore.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Luetta B. 'Grandma' Hanley

Luetta B. "Grandma" Hanley, 94, of Fostoria, died at 12:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 1998, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
Born Aug. 9, 1903, in Wren, to John and Rosie (Wertz) Rolston, she married
Bert Hanley in Findlay. He is deceased.
Survivors include: three sons, Robert L., Claire L. and Frederick E. Hanley, all of Fostoria; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were: three sons, Kenneth E., Bernard R. and Gene C. Hanley; two brothers, Bert and Raymond Rolston; and a sister, Ireta Schmehl.
A homemaker, Mrs. Hanley was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fostoria.
She also was a 50-year member of Women of the Moose 154 and the Fostoria Emergency Corp., where she had been a member for more than 30 years.
Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. R. Edson Reed officiating. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation at the funeral home is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today. Women of the Moose memorial services will be at 7:30. Visitation also will be noon until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Barbara M. Scott

Barbara M. Scott, 84, of Fostoria, died in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, Tuesday, April 7, 1998.
She was born in Grand Rapids, Wis., Dec. 5, 1912, to Frank Stelmach and Theodora (Karcz) Stelmach-Nowak. Her husband, Stanley M. Scott, who she married
Jan. 21, 1932, preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Donald Scott of Findlay; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Craig of Fostoria; two sisters, Theresa D. McGinnis of Fostoria and MarieWuczaynski of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Bernard Scott; a sister and a brother.
Mrs. Scott had been employed as a laborer for a jewelry manufacturer in Chicago.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, with the Rev. Daniel J. Ring of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia.
Visitation at the funeral home is 7-9 p.m. today.

Mildred H. Marshall

Mildred H. Marshall, 88, of North Buck Road, Lot 61, Lakeside, died in McGruder Hospital, Port Clinton, Tuesday, July 21, 1998.
She was born in Vickery July 30, 1909, to Walter Jesse and Grace Gertrude (Jones) Gilbert. Her first husband, James L. Cawthra, died in 1979. She later married
Ray W. Marshall and he preceded her in death in 1993.
Surviving are: a daughter, Betty Apelt of Lakeside; a grandson, Robert Apelt of Cleveland; a brother, Melvin Gilbert of Clyde; and two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Edna) Kistler of Clyde and Mrs. B.K. (Mary) MacDonald of Saline, Mich.
Also preceding her in death were a grandson, Richard Apelt in 1983; and two brothers, Orval and Glendon Gilbert.
A homemaker, Mrs. Marshall was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Port Clinton, and the Eastern Star, Cleveland. She was a former member of West Park Congregational Church, Cleveland.
She was a 1928 graduate of York High School.
Services will be 5 p.m. Thursday in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with the Rev. Robert Schwenk officiating. Interment will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mary Catherine Daniel
Former Whirlpool cafeteria cook
Mary Catherine Daniel, 73, of North Main Street, Clyde, died Monday, July 20, 1998, in Bethesda Care Center, Fremont.
She was born in Fremont Aug. 6, 1924, to Joseph and Catherine (Effinger) Watruba. On Nov. 20, 1954, she married
Howard L. Daniel. He died Feb. 20, 1991.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Susan) Dirlam of Clyde; a son, Edward Daniel of Gibsonburg; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Dorothy Jennings and Betty Rosen; and three brothers, Edwin, Bernard and Bobby Watruba, are deceased.
Mrs. Daniel, a resident of the Clyde area for 34 years, had been employed as a cafeteria cook for Gladieux-Whirlpool.
A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Francis Guild, Ladies of the Moose and the Eagles Auxiliary, all of Clyde, she also worked at St. Mary's bingo.
She received her education in St. Ann's School and graduated in 1942 from St. Joseph High School.
The Rev. Peter Zafe will be the celebrant at the 11 a.m. Thursday funeral Mass in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, where a Christian Wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Helen Augsburger, 74, of South Popular Street, Fostoria, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 1998, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
She was born in Putnam County, Feb. 25, 1924, to Homer and Eva (Ball) Scott. Her husband, Lewis H. Augsburger Sr., whom she married
Nov. 30, 1940, in Fostoria, preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Lewis Jr. and Kenneth Augsburger, both of Fostoria; five daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Judy) Watkins, Mrs. David (Peggy) Bohanan and Mrs. Mike (Daisy) Lewis, all of Fostoria, Mrs. Clinton (Mary) Wheeler of Tiffin and Mrs. Fred (Nancy) Wilson of Findlay; four brothers, Ray, Pete, Jim and Frank Scott, all of Fostoria; a sister, Betty Sheller of Fostoria; 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Rozella Ball and Agnes Haynes; and two brothers, John and Galen Scott.
Mrs. Augsburger retired in 1984 as a line operator from Bendix Autolite (now Allied Signal), Fostoria.
Services in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with Pastor Bob Chew officiating. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.

Leah L. (Miller) Sell

Leah L. (Miller) Sell, 90, died Friday, July 17, 1998, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born in Old Fort. Her husband, Herbert A. Sell, attorney at law, died in 1981.
Survivors include: a daughter, Martha E. Duty; and a niece and nephew, Mrs. Bruce (Leatrice) Shellstorm and Larry Miller.
Mrs. Sell had been employed as a legal secretary for her husband.
Services were Monday in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Word has been received of the death of George W. Binder of Sidney, formerly of Tiffin, who died unexpectedly Friday, July 17, 1998.
