Clair E. Kisabeth
Retired Gulf sales engineer
Clair E. Kisabeth, 77, of 942 Country Club Drive, Fostoria, died at 7:48 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, in The Heritage, Findlay.
He was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Fostoria, to C.O. and Minnie (Sund) Kisabeth. His wife, Maxine (Schwab) Kisabeth, whom he married
Dec. 14, 1945, in Fostoria, survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Diane) Eschenburg of Clinton Township, Mich. and Mrs. Budd (Melinda) Brink of Spring Lake, Mich.; a sister, Ruth McMakan of Fostoria; and three grandchildren.
A brother, Harlan Kisabeth; and a sister, Onlee Myers, are deceased.
Mr. Kisabeth, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, having served 1941-45, had been employed as a sales engineer for Gulf Oil Company for 32 years, retiring in 1982. He also worked for Goddard-Murphy in real estate sales 1982-98.
A 1940 graduate of Fostoria High School and a 1947 graduate of the Ohio State University, he attended the First Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of the Hilltop Club and Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 288 and a former member of both the Kiwanis and Zenobia Shrine Clubs.
Services in the First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, will be 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. R. Edson Reed officiating. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday.

Berneice B. Dawson
Mother of Tiffin residents
Berneice B. Dawson, 93, formerly of 3262 Egypt Road, Willard, died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, in Hillside Acres Nursing Home, Willard.
She was born April 29, 1905, in Wyandot County, to William Floyd and Alvena (Richardson) Burks. On June 28, 1924, in Ann Arbor, Mich., she married
Herbert R. Dawson, who preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1985.
Surviving are a son, Daryl Dawson, at home; four daughters Mrs. Loyal (Dolores) Hopple and Mrs. Eugene (Reva) Mason, both of Tiffin, Opal Schuebert and Mrs. Robert (Alice) Owens, both of Willard; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Coppler of Carey.
Preceding her in death were a brother, George Burks; and four sisters, Emma McNutt, Bessie Barth, Myrtle Newland and Edith Dick.
Mrs. Dawson, a homemaker and farmwife, had lived in Greenfield Township since 1951. She also lived in Seneca County, near Republic, and grew up in Wyandot County.
She was a member of the Church of the Master, Steuben and its Women's Circle and the Get Together Club.
Services are 11 a.m. today in the Church of the Master. Burial will be in the Greenfield Township cemetery, Steuben.
Visitation was Monday at the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, Willard.

William F. Conkle
R.R. Donnelley & Sons retiree
William F. Conkle, 58, died Friday evening, Dec. 4, 1998, at his home on Park Street in Willard. His death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Mansfield, to the late R. Vance and Vera (Ritz) Conkle. His wife, Shirley A. (Kegley) Conkle, whom he married
Sept. 4, 1964, survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Michael Conkle of Uniontown and Matthew Conkle of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Christopher (Jennifer) Steingass of Toledo; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret McDowell of Willard and Janice Remmy of Plymouth.
A 1958 gradaute of Willard High School, Mr. Conkle worked at the R.R. Donnelley and Sons for 37 years as an offset artworker until his retirement in 1997, following a stroke. He also attended Capital University for two years.
He served in the Army Reserves and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Donnelley's Club, Willard Elks, Eagles, American Legion and the Conservation League. He served as past commissioner of the youth baseball league.
An avid fisherman and sportsman, he enjoyed traveling with his family.
The Rev. Kent Wilson will be the officiant at the 1 p.m. Wednesday service in the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, Willard. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran cemetery, Willard.
Visitation at the funeral home is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Graveside services for Lenora E. Garvin, 95, who died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, in the Brierfield Health Care Center, Youngstown, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesdayin Fairmont cemetery, with Dr. Arthur Geyh officiating. There will be no visitation. The Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, is in charge of arrangements and the Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Arvilla G. Studer

Arvilla G. Studer, 84, formerly of 19 Linwood Road, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, in St. Francis Home.
She was born June 22, 1914, in New Washington, to Frank J. and Rose M. (Wurm) Studer.
A brother, Virgil F. Studer of Tiffin; and a special friend, Marguerite Kramer, also of Tiffin, survive.
Two sisters, Josephine Doran and Martha Norris, are deceased.
Miss Studer retired in 1979 as a payroll schedule clerk from the Ohio Bell Telephone Co., Tiffin, where she had been employed for 37 1/2 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society, the Josephines, St. Francis Auxiliary and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
A funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. James Say as celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at the church at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Eleanor C. (Smith) Kehres
Former Tiffin resident
Eleanor C. (Smith) Kehres, 93, of Crestwood Drive, Willard, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, at her home.
She was born in North Auburn, Crawford County, Feb. 4, 1905, to Peter and Helen (Phillips) Smith. On July 12, 1927, she married
Isadore Kehres, who died Dec. 22, 1968.
Survivors include: five sons, Charles and James Kehres, both of New Washington, Victor Kehres of Sandusky, Roman Kehres of Troy and William Kehres of Shelby; six daughters, Mrs. Herman (Ruth) Rice and Alice Alt, all of Willard, Mrs. George (Louise) Roth of Shelby, Mrs. Robert (Kathleen) Leber of Monroeville and Mrs. Lorin (Marilyn) Kraft and Mrs. James (Joan) Ehresman, all of New Washington; a sister, Bertha Niedermier of Bucyrus; 55 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leonard; a grandchild, John Rice; a sister, Suzanne Kanney; and two brothers, Florian and Clement Smith.
Mrs. Kehres, a graduate of Ursline Academy in Tiffin, taught school two years at St. Stephens before her marriage.
She was a homemaker in the North Auburn area until moving to Tiffin in September 1984, then moving to her apartment in Willard in November 1996.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, in the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, North Auburn, with the Rev. Robert Dendinger and the Rev. Frank Kehres officiating. Burial will be in Mother of Sorrows cemetery.
At the request of Mrs. Kehres, there will be no calling hours. The Secor Funeral Home, Willard, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Mother of Sorrows School Endowment Fund or the donor's choice.
Darrel Edward Moore

Darrel Edward Moore, 65, of Sandusky CR 224, Clyde, died in Fremont Memorial Hospital, Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998.
He was born in Stone, Ky., March 24, 1933, to the late Issac Holiday and Callie(Moore) Moore.
Survivors include: his fiance Jane Frazier of Clyde; a son, Richard Moore Sr. of Vickery; two daughters, Paula Moore and Mrs. John (Darnell) Patynko, both of Clyde; three grandchildren; three sisters, Rose Hurd of Vickery, Mrs. Arthur (Pauline) Wollenslagel of Bellevue and Mrs. Louis (Nina) Vranish of Clyde; and three brothers, the Rev. Gerald Moore of Vickery, Dennis Moore of Clyde and Harold Moore of Sandusky.
Mr. Moore, who received his education in Virginia and resided in the Clyde area since 1955, retired in 1984 from the Ford Motor Co., Sandusky, where he was employed as a laborer.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in Company B 406 Engineer Construction BN. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Army Occupation Medal (Germany).
He attended the First Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of the Eagles, Moose and VFW, all of Clyde.
The Rev. Paul Finney will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday service in the First Freewill Baptist Church, North Street, Rt. 510, Clyde. Interment will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde, where military graveside services will be provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.
Visitation at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Uldene D. (Stephenson) Carbin

Uldene D. (Stephenson) Carbin, 83, of 1000 Independence Rd. 17, Fostoria, died at 6:28 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at the Fostoria Community Hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1915, to Charles Stephenson and Della (Coppus) Stephenson-Flaherty, both of whom are deceased. On Oct. 22, 1938, she married
Paul J. Carbin in Ft. Wayne, IN, and he survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Michael A. Carbin of Pickerington and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Martin Flaherty.
Mrs. Carbin was a 1933 graduate of Fostoria High School. She retired as secretary for Electric Autolite now Allied Signal. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the Forum Club, and a 25-year volunteer of the Hospital Guild.
The Rev. Branson J. Hawkes will officiate the 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, service at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Helen Morris

Helen Morris, 64, of 564 Spruce St., Fostoria, died at 2:37 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Blanchard Regional Health Center, Findlay. She was born Oct. 13, 1934, in Fostoria to Rito H. and Guadalupe (Navarro) Torres, both deceased. She married
Benjamin Morris; they later divorced and he survives in Indiana.
Other survivors include: a brother, Joseph Vargas of Fostoria; and four sisters, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Delgado, of Fostoria, Vera Torres of Fostoria, Mrs. John (Rita) Latvis of Fremont, and Mrs. Henry (Mary Jo) Gaetano of Woodale, IL.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Raymond and Jess Torres.
Ms. Morris was a class of 1952 graduate of St. Wendelin High School and a member of the St. Wendelin Catholic Church. She had worked as a Western-Union operator in Crawfordsville, IN, and an office clerk for Polk Brothers Furniture Company in Chicago, IL.
The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 7, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be in the St. Wendelin Parish cemetery.
Visitation hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6, in Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home, and also at 10 a.m., Monday morning at the church.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Robert Alfred Geyer

Robert Alfred Geyer, 79, of 2354 St. Rt. 4, Attica, and of Kiwanis Manor, Tiffin, died at 9:45 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Providence Hospital, Sandusky. He had been ill for the last week. He was born Oct. 10, 1919, in Reed Twp., Siam, Ohio, to the late Lawrence and Olivia (Wickwire) Geyer. He was married
in 1968 to Mary (Burlile) Geyer who preceded him in death in 1979.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Jess (Mary) Fleure of Attica; and two grandchildren, Michelle and Eric Fleure, both of Tiffin; and his Kwanis Manor special helper Olive Dilts.
Preceding him in death were: his wife; two sisters, Wava and Wanda Stockmaster, and very special friend Agnes Wise in August 1998. Agnes's family, which was very much like his own, survives him, including Ruth and Phil Thompson, Kelly Shock and Karlene Jones.
Mr. Geyer lived most of his life in the Attica area. He was a member of the 751 Tank Battalion. He served in World War II from 1941-1945, spending most of his service time in Northern Africa, Italy, France and England. He received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with a Silver Service Star; Good Conduct Medal, and the Defense Service Medal. He started work on the B&O Railroad in 1946 and retired in 1979. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Railroad Union; First Baptist Church; Kwanis Club in Tiffin; Golden Arches Club; and life member of the American legion Post 260 of Attica.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, at the First Baptist Church in Attica with The Rev. Terry Alverson of the church officiating. Burial will be at the Attica-Venice Twp. cemetery, Attica, with Military Rites provided by the American Legion Post of Attica.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., today at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Home, 1295 W. Tiffin St., Attica.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans through the funeral home.
Marjorie R. Lamb

Marjorie R. Lamb, 94, of 21 Hillside Drive, Tiffin, died at 11 p.m., Nov. 29, 1998, at the Good Shephard Home, Fostoria. She was born Jan. 23, 1904, to Alfred G. and Leah (Walton) Jamison in Sycamore. On July 27, 1926, she married
Charles Perry Lamb Sr. in Toledo, he died Jan. 14, 1979.
Surviving include: a son, Charles P. Lamb Jr. of Westport, CT; two nieces, Mrs. Ruth Linthicum of Tiffin, and Mrs. Jean Boyd of Port Charlotte, FL; three grandchildren, Mark C. Lamb of Norwalk, CT, John Lamb of Fairfield, CT, and Todd Lamb of New York City, NY; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Walton Jamison.
Mrs. Lamb was a 1922 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and a 1925 graduate of Flower Hospital, Toledo. She was a nurse, homemaker, and also worked 21 years at the General Electric Company in Tiffin. She was a member of the G-WOTS and Grandmothers Club, both affiliated with General Electric. And she was affiliated with the Episcopal Church.
The Rev. Van Fisher will officiate the 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, service at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge cemetery, Sycamore.
Visitation hours are from 7-9 p.m., tonight at the funeral home.
