Emmett Mullins
Mr. Emmett Mullins, 70, of 3954 Rome Road, Plainville, Ga., died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Gordon Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Mullins was born on July 2, 1932, in Muskegon, Mich., son of the late Thomas and May Back Mullins.
Mr. Mullins is survived by his wife, Ellweze Sexton Mullins, to whom he was married
for 52 years. Mother-in-Law, Lucille (Roberts) Sexton of Plainville, Ga. Sons and their wives, Charles and Rhonda Mullins of Plainville, Ga.; T.L. and Frances Mullins of Calhoun, Ga. and Emmett Mullins, Jr. of Tiffin. Daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Bruce Carnes and Thelma Schrimsher, all of Plainville, Ga. Brothers and their wives, Earl Mullins of Kileen, Texas, Elbert Mullins of Tiffin and Elmer and Marilynn Mullins of Calhoun, Ga. Sisters and their husbands, Ellen and Bob Russell and Ima Craft, both of Bloomville; Isma Sizemore of Bear Branch, Ky.; Jewell and Gary Beigh of Lake Placid, Fla.; Four grandsons, nine granddaughters, two great-grandsons, nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earnest Mullins and Astor Mullins and one sister, Jeraldine Bloomfield.
Mr. Mullins was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Parachute Badge, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the Purple Heart, the Army OCC Medal of Japan and the UN Service Medal.
He was retired from the trucking industry and was a member of the American Legion Post 47 of Calhoun and the Airborne Ranger Fifth Company.
Services for Mr. Emmett Mullins will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Bradley Anderson Memorial Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. George Gray officiating. Active pallbears serving will include: Thomas Mullins, Jr., Ryan Mullins, Clifton Morgan Thomas Caudill, Clifton Morgan, Jr. and Doug Rampley. Honorary pallbearers serving will include: Emmett Mullins, Jr., T.L. Mullins, Charles Mullins, Bruce Carnes, Jason Correll, Ron Mullins and Ray Mullins. Interment will follow in the Gordon Memorial Gardens with military honors being accorded.
The family will receive friends at Brannons Funeral Home during the hours of 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Roy Lee Prater
Roy Lee Prater, 71, of 12496 TR 196, Vanlue, died at 6:01 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2003, in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born Dec. 30, 1931, in Magoffin Co., Ky., to the late Boyd and Mollie (Salyer) Prater. On June 18, 1953, he married
Shirley Ann McRill. She survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, Michael A. Prater of Altus, Okla., and David L. Prater of Findlay; one daughter, Melinda A. Westenhaver of Vanlue; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Herbert Prater of Carey, Tom Prater, Powell Prater and James Prater, all of Findlay; and one sister, Betty Clark of Forest.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. Burial will be in Van Horn Cemeter in Vanlue.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ruth M. Paul
Ruth M. Pual, 84, of CR 270, Clyde, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Bellevue Hospital.
She was born July 23, 1918, in Clyde, to the late Samuel James and Rena Anna (Colvin) Bennett. On June 11, 1937, she married
Richard Charles Paul. He died May 3, 1979.
Surviving are: two daughters, Patricia Studer of Bellevue and Rosemary R. Klinski of Sun City Center, Fla.; and a brother, Clifford Melvin Bennett of Clyde.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Garden.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mary J. Hoover
Mary J. Hoover, 67, of 5902 West Oak St., Bascom, died Thursday, June 5, 2003 in her home. Visitation will be on Monday, June 9, 2003, and the funeral on Tuesday. Further arrangements are pending at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, Tiffin.
Margaret Jane Bollinger
Margaret Jane Heisler Bollinger, 79, of Attica, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at Mercy Hospital of Willard.
She was born Nov. 24, 1923, in Willard, to the late Carl and Cora Heisler. She married
William Young and he preceded her in death. She then married
Charles Bollinger in 1974. He survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Danny Young of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter Kay Ellen Pennybaker of Willard; a step son, Daniel Bollinger of Strongsville; a step daughter, Pamela Bollinger of Bucyrus; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William and Donald Heisler of Willard.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Willard.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Carl W. Droll
Carl W. Droll, 79, of 1020 Sandusky St., Fostoria, died at 3:11 a.m. Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Independence House in Fostoria.
He was born May 8, 1924, in Cloverdale, to the late Raymond K. and Mary B. (Stretker) Droll. On Aug. 21, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont, he married
Mary Margaret Leite. She survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are: two sons, Gregory J. (Nancy) Droll of New Concord and David B. Droll of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Troy (Cynthia M.) Bogner of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Samuel and Clint Bogner, Marty and Megan Droll; three brothers, James Droll of Mesa, Ariz., Gerald Droll of Fostoria, Thomas Droll of Warrington, Pa.; and a sister Mrs. Robert (Donna) Ewald of Findlay.
Preceding him in death were: an infant brother, Roger Droll, and a sister, Millie Scheidhauer.
Mr. Droll owned and operated Carl's Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in Fostoria, which he started in 1974 and operated through 1988. He also worked for 30 years for Nye's Implement, Fostoria, in refrigeration.
He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus Council 1197 in Fostoria, and St. Joseph's Rosary Society in Fremont.
Mr. Droll was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in Squadron 38 in the European African Middle Eastern Campaign.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish cemetery, where the United Veterans of Fostoria will conduct military honors.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria, where a Christian Wake service will take place at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Church and Schools or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Ruth W. Dodson
Ruth W. Dodson, 94, of St. Francis Home in Tiffin, died at 6:28 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at St. Francis.
She was born July 5, 1908, in Rhea County, Tenn., to the late George W. and Belva (Horner) Bare. On May 23, 1929, in Dayton, Tenn., she married
Thomas H. Dodson. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1988.
Surviving are: a daughter, Elsie M. Hayes of Tiffin; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Carpenter of Toledo.
Preceding her death were: her parents, a son Thomas H. Dodson on Feb. 17, 1992; five brothers, James, Alfred, Richard, John and Carl Bare; and one sister, Mary Rodgers.
Mrs. Dodson was retired from Tiffin Ceramics at Sixes Corners in Tiffin.
She was a member of Cottage Avenue Church of Christ in Tiffin.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin, with Pastor Fred Edens officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Margaret Elizabeth Lenz
Margaret Elizabeth Lenz, 92, formerly of 50 Summit St., Tiffin, died 1:05 a.m. Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.
She was born Sept. 30, 1910, in Tiffin, to the late Charles E. and Elizabeth (Heilman) Lenz.
Surviving are: a nephew, Norman Grimes of Barnesville, formerly of Tiffin; a niece Beverly (Deinzer) Imhoff of Rittman; and many grand nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were: a half-brother, Raymond Deinzer; and two half-sisters, Florence Grimes and Ruth Slatman.
Ms. Lenz graduated from Columbian High School and from Tiffin University Business School. She worked at the Advertiser-Tribune and Bond Furniture.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.
G. Paul Oberst
G. Paul Oberst, 78, of Elm Drive, Fremont, died early Saturday morning, June 7, 2003, at his home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 11, 1925, in Sandusky County to the late R. Glenn and Ethel (Roberts) Oberst. Paul married
Lois Jean Werth on May 29, 1954, in Clyde. She survives.
He attended Helena School, was a member of Gibsonburg High School Class of 1943 and received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo in 1952. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Mr. Oberst was a design and plant engineer for Basic Inc. at Maple Grove in Bettsville until his retirement in 1985 after 27 years. He was then employed by the Sandusky County Economic Development Corp. as Economic Development Coordinator from 1986 until his retirement in 1993. During this time, he was involved in the creation of the Bark Creek Industrial Center, Clyde Commerce Center, the Shortline Railroad between Woodville and Tiffin and the development of the Sandusky County Airport. He returned as interim executive director on several occasions after his retirement.
Paul was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont, Kiwanis Club, American Legion Post 121, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Basic Quarter Century Club, Sandusky Valley Amateur Radio Club, Sandusky County American Cancer Society Board, and the Moose Lodge 1286.
Surviving, along with his wife Lois, are sons, Stephen (Karen) Oberst of Lindsey, Mark Oberst of Toledo, Timothy (Karen) Oberst of Findlay; daughter, Leah (Eric) Brant of Fostoria; grandchildren, Rebecca Oberst, Kathryn Oberst, Brittio Oberst, Seth Oberst, Ethan Oberst, Hope Brant, and four step-grandchildren, Jill Affholder, Brooke Affholder, David Brant and Amanda Brant.
Along with his parents, Paul was preceded by his brother, Herbert Oberst.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 705 W. State St. Mr. Oberst will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Washington Chapel cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch, Fremont.
Memorials may be made in Paul's name to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
Agnes Gertrude Thomas
Agnes Gertrude Thomas, 95, of St. Francis Home in Tiffin, died at 4:50 a.m. Sunday, June 8, 2003, at St. Francis.
She was born Nov. 13, 1907, in Tiffin, to Rolland B. and Lovina (Harter) Thomas. Her mother died in 1949 and her father died in 1950.
Surviving are: three nephews, John Thomas of Sugar Grove, Ill., Robert and James Thomas, both of St. Lucie, Fla.
Preceding her in death were: two brothers, John in 1960 and Paul in 1990.
Ms. Thomas was a 1926 graduate of the Ursuline Academy and she attended Tiffin University.
Ms. Thomas had worked as an assistant manager for the F.W. Woolworth Co. She worked as a teller at the First National Bank and part time at the Seneca County Treasurer's Office.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society; Senior Citizens; St. Francis Auxiliary; Legion of Mary; Poor Souls Society; and the Ursuline Academy Alumnae.
Funeral Mass will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at St. Francis Home Chapel, 182 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, with the Rev. Richard Dunn officiating, Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the chapel.

Jack A. Schwab
Jack A. Schwab, 75, of North Union St., Fostoria, died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay.
He was born March 22, 1928, in Fremont, to the late Clyde and Hazel (Clore) Schwab. On June 14, 1952, in Fremont, he married
Mary Lou Michaels. She survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are: two sons, Steven Schwab of Kansas and William Schwab of Fostoria; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maxine Kisabeth of Grand Haven, Mich.
Mr. Schwab was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria, where military honors will be conducted by the Joint Veterans Group of Fostoria.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Akabar K. Bahadar
Akabar K. Bahadar, 49, of 159 Sycamore St., Tiffin, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, in the Mercy Hospital of Tiffin Emergency Care Center.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christ's Church in Tiffin.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church on Wednesday.
Anthony J. Roby
Anthony J. Roby, 5 1/2 months, of 635 N. Vance St., Carey, died at 11:52 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 19, 2002, in Toledo, to Charles E. Roby III and Kristy M. Draper of Carey.
Surviving are: maternal grandparents, Hal and Beverly Turnbell; maternal great-grandparents, James and Anna Mae Draper, all of Carey; paternal grandparents, Charles E. Jr. and Melissa Roby of Ridgeway; paternal great-grandmother, Lucille Wren of Mt. Victory; a brother, Charles E. Roby IV; and a sister, Hallee Rose Roby, both at home.
Preceding him in death were: his paternal great-grandparents, Charles E. Sr. and Lee Roby of Mt. Victory; and a sister, Faye Ann Draper.
He was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's cemetery in Carey.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
