Sara L. Marshall
Sara L. Marshall, 80, of Arbors of Clyde, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, in Fremont Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 17, 1922, in Toledo, to the late William and Florence (Urwin) Marshall.
Surviving are: nephews and nieces: William Marshall of Upper Sandusky, Dr. Robert Marshall of Fremont, Elizabeth Schneider of Dayton, Anita Marshall of Kendallville, Tenn. and Carolyn Roth of Kansas, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Marshall and William Marshall; and a sister, Mary Jean Feterle.
Miss Marshall was a life-long Bettsville resident and was a graduate of Bettsville High School, class of 1940. She retired from General Electric in 1983. She was an avid card player.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Anita Marshall officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Union cemetery.
Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Stephen T. Watkins
Stephen T. Watkins, 40, of 84 W. Market St., Tiffin, died 5:21 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee.
He was born March 27, 1962, in Fremont, to Billy and Patricia "Trish" (Lamson) Watkins. They survive in Bettsville.
He married
Kellie (Anderson) Watkins on Dec. 14, 1996, in Gibsonburg. She survives.
Also surviving are: three sons, Nathaniel Watkins and Nicholas Watkins, both of Tiffin and Stephen Watkins of Virginia; two daughters, Noelle Watkins of Tiffin and Jessica Chadwell of Virginia; a brother, Frank Watkins of Eastlake; two sisters, Cherie Long of Fostoria and Charlene Watkins of Republic; two nephews and a niece.
Mr. Watkins worked as a welder for Tiffin Crane and Loader. He graduated from Bettsville High School in 1980. He loved music and enjoyed working on cars.
Mr. Watkins was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1980-1982. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Bettsville.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Engle Funeral Home of Bettsville, with the Pastor Gary Adams officiating.
Burial will be in Arcadia Memory Gardens.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in care of his children.
Urban J. Hoffman
Urban J. Hoffman, 89, of 75 Summit St., Tiffin, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
Arrangements are pending at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.
Harriet Helene Raifsnider
Harriet Helene Raifsnider, 87, formerly of Clyde, now of Ashland, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Crystal Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Oct. 22, 1915, in Green Creek Twp., Clyde, to the late Ralph and Irma (Gray) Hummel. She married
Robert M. Raifsnider in 1971. He died in 1995.
Surviving are: a son, Gerald Raifsnider of Wooster; two sisters, Alice Dagg of Sandusky and Jane Wood of Wooster; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be in McPherson cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, on Friday, at the funeral home.
Jack Cascaden
Jack Cascaden, 67, of Apache Junction, Ariz., died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, He was born March 10, 1936, in Green Springs, to John M. and Jennie M. (Swartz) Cascaden. His wife, Joyce Ann (Steinmetz) Cascaden survives.
Other survivors include: sons, Steve Cascaden of Fremont, Ohio and Brian D. (Lisa) Cascaden of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; brothers, Bill Cascaden of Florida and Merle Cascaden of Queen Creek, Ariz.; a sister, Caroline Neutzling of Middleport, Ohio and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Cascaden and sisters, Pauline Pollack, Winnifred and Dolores Cascaden.
He was a policeman for the Tiffin Police Dept. from 1966 until retirement in 1986. Jack was a veteran of the US Navy.
Apache Junction Mortuary was entrusted with the arrangements.
Evelyn M. Young
Evelyn M. Young, 87, formerly of Clyde, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont.
She was born April 1, 1915, in Fremont, to the late Lester and Ruth (Saunders) Sherlow. She married
Lawrence Young on April 9, 1932. He died on Jan. 12, 1969.
Surviving are: two sons, James Young and Gary Young, both of Fremont, and a granddaughter.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Burial will be in McPherson cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Urban J. Huffman
Urban J. Huffman, 89, of 75 Summit St., Tiffin, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born Dec. 6, 1913, in Tiffin, to the late Jesse L. and Clara (Stritt) Huffman.
He married
Alice L. Albright on Aug. 10, 1937, in St. Joseph Rectory, in Tiffin, by the Rev. Louis Huffman, Urban's brother. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in August 2002. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Alicia) Barry of Naples, Fla. and of Charlevoix, Mich. and Mrs. David (Susan) Omlor of Sandusky; six grandchildren, Patrick, Stephen, John and Brian Barry and Marcia and Michael Omlor; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Rear Admiral Leon, Albert, Ralph, and the Rev. Louis Huffman; and a sister, Mary Haefling.
Mr. Huffman was a 1933 graduate of Calvert High School. He retired from National Machinery Co. as a maintenance foreman in 1973, after 33 years of service. He and his wife enjoyed 25 years of retirement in Sarasota.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, National Machinery Quarter Century Club, Elks Tiffin Lodge 94 and Knights of Columbus.
The funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Msgr. Edward Dunn officiating.
Burial will be St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. A Christian Wake service will be 7:30 p.m. Friday with Deacon Dave Huffman, his nephew, officiating.
There will be a Rosary service 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be made Calvert High School, Calvert High School Foundation, Calvert High School Sports Program, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Eileen Lewis
Eileen Lewis, 88, of 406 Lakeview Rd., Apt. 19 Winter Garden, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Orlando Regional Lucerne Hospital in Orlando, Fla.
She was born Jan. 8, 1915, in Republic, to Irving and Nettie (Burnside) Neikirk.
She married
Ralph N. Lewis and they were married
63 and 1/2 years. He survives.
Also surviving are: three sons, Larry T. Lewis of Sunnyvale, Calif., Ralph E. Lewis of White Lake, Mich., and Duane E. Lewis of Ocoee, Fla.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Lewis was a math teacher for the Seneca East School District, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of the Republic United Church of Christ, the Women's Fellowship, Cornelia Chapter 93 Order of the Eastern Star in Republic, the Seneca County Camping Club, and the Seneca County Retired Teachers Association.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Republic United Church of Christ in Republic, with the Rev. Jeff King officiating. Entombment will be in Seneca Memory Gardens in Tiffin.
Visitation will be Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville.

Ann Byers Young
Ann Byers Young, 81, of East Morgan Street, Green Springs, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Elmwood Nursing Home in Green Springs.
She was born July 13, 1921, in Clyde, to the late Phillip L. and Mabel E. (Toy) Byers. She married
Eric C. Young on Nov. 17, 1973. He survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Page Wester of O'Fallon, Mo.; a stepson, Terry Young of Green Springs; a stepdaughter, Pamela Clayton of Green Springs; a sister, Jerry Jenkins of Gainesville, Fla.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Anthony M. Harp Jr.
Anthony M. Harp Jr., 49, of 40 N. Marion St., Bloomville, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born Sept. 20, 1953, to the late Anthony and Peggy (Cross) Harper Sr. He married
Barbara Shaffer on Jan. 11, 1977, in Bellevue. He survives.
Also surviving are: stepfather Walt Jarvis of Norwalk; three sons, Jason Harp of Galion, Rick Walters of Bloomville and Tim Walters of Republic; a daughter, Tami Hus of New Port Richey, Fla.; a sister, Nancy Lemmon of Castalia; two brothers, Frank Harp of Collins and John Harp of Lexington; and 13 grandchildren.
There will be no funeral service and no visitation.
The Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
James A. Goodale
James A. Goodale, 62, of W. Twp. Rd. 1020, Tiffin, died at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003. He was born May 24, 1940 in Fostoria to Blaine and Mary (Coleman) Goodale.
Surviving: Special Friends and Caregivers-Mary Rohrbach, and Ellen Miller, both of Tiffin; two daughters, Tammy Hook and Julie Capetillo, both of Fostoria; two brothers, Roger Goodale of Terra Haute, Ind., and Bernard Goodale of Findlay; six sisters, Bev Petticos of Marblehead, Bernita Gerwin of Spain, Shirley Bulkowski, Connie Kiser, Gloria Wagner, and Gigi Hart, all of Fostoria; and 11 grandchildren.
Preceded in death were: His Parents; a daughter, Tina Dyer; two brothers, Richard and Jack Goodale; and two sisters, Eleanore Sheridan, and Bessie Gee.
Mr. Goodale was a member of the Fremont Eagles Club; Tiffin Moose and Am Vets.
Graveside Services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Fountain cemetery, Fostoria following visitation, with The Rev. Russell Gumm officiating.
Visitation 2 hours prior to service, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Tiffin.
Geraldine 'Gerri' Kirchner
Geraldine "Gerri" Kirchner, 81, of 8143 Silverwood St., Findlay, died at 6:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, in Fox Run Manor, Findlay.
She was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Fremont, to the late Bert and Eva (Perry) Gnepper. On Aug. 9, 1945, she married
Herbert J. Kirchner. He preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1993.
Surviving are a son, Dale Kirchner of Toledo; a daughter, Mrs. John (Renee') Mason of Swanton; a grandschild and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Kirchner; a daughter, Denise Kirchner; a grandson; a brother, Dale Gnepper and a sister, Deloris Sanna.
Mrs. Kirchner was a homemaker.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, in the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, with Father Adam Hertzfeld officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Tiffin.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home.

Mary 'Evelyn' Walters
Mary "Evelyn" Walters, 96, of 545 W. Market St., Apt. 102, Tiffin died at 10:55 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at the Autumnwood Care Center. She was born May 30, 1906 to James B. and Nellie (Wingert) Walters. On July 21, 1924 she married
Oval E. Walters, he died in 1984.
Surviving include: two sons, Duane D. Walters of Camillus, NY, Paul (Richard) Walters of Tiffin; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Comer of Bascom, and Mrs. Audrey Mae Moore of Jensen Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren;14 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial at Sand Ridge cemetery, Bascom.
There are no visitation hours.
Jay E. Swaidner
Jay E. Swaidner, 55, of 3620 S. SR 100, Tiffin, died at 2:08 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003. He was born May 2, 1947 to the late Edward O. Swaidner and Jeanne (Welker) Swaidner, she survives in Lorain. On. Feb. 25, 1967 he married
Beverly Mac Donald, she survives in Tiffin.
Also surviving include: a daughter, Mrs. Angie Pytel of Grand Rapids, Ohio.
Memorial services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 in Ebenezer United Methodist Church. There will be no burial and no visitation. The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
