David P. Smith
David P. Smith, 74, of 53 Renfrew Drive, Shelby, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at his home.
He served as president and CEO of Shelby Memorial Hospital from 1966-1986 and was a U.S. Marines veteran of World War II.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Norman Miller of Bloomville; two grandsons, Brandon Allen of Bucyrus and Ryan Miller of Bloomville; and a brother, Richard Smith of Athens, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Jean (Swavel) Smith in 1991.
Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 W. Main St., Shelby, where Masonic services will be conducted at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Gail Angel. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, in Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg, Ohio, with military graveside services.
Memorial expressions may be made to Shelby Home and Public Health.
Christian Alexander Olinger
Christian Alexander Olinger, 3 months, of 807 Oak St., Toledo, OH, died in the early morning, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002 at his home. He was born Sept. 16, 2002 to Jared Belcher and Kelly Olinger, and both survive.
Other survivors include: a brother, Christopher Olinger, of home; Maternal grandparents, Jeffrey and Patricia Olinger of Tiffin; Paternal grandmother, Brenda McNiel of Toledo; Maternal great grandmother, Patricia Hanthorn of Toledo; Maternal great grandfather, Bill Hanthorn and wife Janice of Toledo; Maternal great grandparents, Raymond and Lucille Olinger of Northwood; and many loving aunts and two cousins.
Funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, with The Rev. James K. Say officiating. Burial at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
Harry C. MacDonald
Harry C. MacDonald, 82, of East Fremont St., Fostoria, died at 4:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria. He was born Jan. 25, 1920 in Gibsonburg to Frank and Dorothy (Marsh) MacDonald. On April 2, 1944 he married
Helen M. Brown in Bowling Green, and she survives.
Other survivors include: a son, David MacDonald of Fostoria; two daughters, Mary and Cheryl MacDonald, both of Fostoria. a brother, P. Albert MacDonald of Fremont; and two grandchildren.
Mr. MacDonald was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial at Knollcrest Garden near Arcadia, where Military Honors will be conducted by the Joint Veterans Group of Fostoria.
Visitation hours are from 6-8 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.
Frances Hablitzel
Frances "Darlene" Hablitzel, 64, of Westown Manor, Apt. 510, Carey, died at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born May 3, 1938 to the late Clarence McCumber and Dixie Bayes-Joseph of Carey, her mother survives. Her step-father Con Joseph preceded her in death. On August 20, 1960 she married
Gary Hablitzel, they divorced.
Surviving include: three sons, John M. of Baltimore, OH, Gerald L. of Carey, and Richard L. of Alvada; and 10 grandchildren.
Services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home of Carey. Burial at Spring Grove cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 4-9 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.
Janet F. Groves
Janet F. Groves, 64, of 108 Union St., Risingsun, died at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002 at James Cancer Center, Columbus. She was born Feb. 25, 1938 to Woodrow and Leora M. (Hartley) Keely. On Jan 22, 1966 she married
John W. Groves in Risingsun, and he survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Brenda R. Williams of Fostoria; a sister, Mrs. Shirley Greenlee of Fostoria, and a grandson.
Services at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002 at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial at Knollcrest Gardens.
Visitation hours are from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, where the Eastern Star Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m.
Michael P. Omlor
Michael P. Omlor, 56, of 20 Grace St., Tiffin, died at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002. He was born Sept. 29, 1946 to John J. and Elizabeth J. (Rady) Omlor.
Surviving include: a brother, John Omlor of West Linn, OR.; two sisters, Christie Omlor of Tiffin and Mary Omlor of Portland, OR.
Mr. Omlor was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in the St. Mary's cemetery at a later date.
There are no visitation hours.
Derek J. Anstead
Derek J. Anstead, 20, of CR 198, Green Springs, died as a result of a snowmobile accident Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002. He was born in Sandusky Sept. 12, 1982 to Dan J. Anstead and Elizabeth "Betsy" Antesberger, both survive.
Also surviving include: a brother, Dexter Anstead of home; a sister, Alexis Anstead of home; grandparents John and Faye Antesberger of Riley Township, and Don and Shirley Anstead of Fremont; Maternal great grandmother, Mrs. Elsie Antesberger-Howie of Fremont; aunts and uncles.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Clyde with The Rev. Lance Franke officiating. Burial at Green Springs cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.
Cloea Landman Fleming
Cloea Landman Fleming, 98, of Cambridge, Ohio, died at 11:38 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, in Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 11, 1904, in Guernsey County to David N. and Annie (Masters) Landman. She married
Russell D. Fleming March 30, 1929, and he died July 22, 1988.
Survivors include: two sons, Joe L. Fleming of Canton and Paul D. Fleming of Tiffin; a daughter, Marjorie Ford of Cambridge; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, with burial in Center cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday.
Patricia Ann Caudill
Patricia Ann Caudill, 63, of 7409 TR 212, Findlay, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
She was born Sept. 18, 1939, in Wyandot County to Kenneth Tong and Avonelle (Howard) Bateson. She married
Lowell "Tom" Caudill Oct. 4, 1958, in Mt. Blanchard Nazarene Church.
Survivors include: her mother, of Findlay; her husband; a son, Tom S. Caudill of Fremont; a daughter, Cindy Frank of Fremont; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Tong of Athens and Ed Conner of Bluffton; and two sisters, Sue Collins of South Charleston and Judy Sorrell of Fostoria.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the First Free Will Baptist Church, Carey, with burial in Zion Bloom cemetery, Vanlue.
Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey; and from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Wayne C. Tong
Wayne C. Tony, 68, of 460 E. Perry St., died at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at his residence.
He was born in Tiffin May 21, 1934, to Albert and Delsa (Cross) Tong, and they are deceased. He married
Donna Berkheimer Aug. 31, 1957, and she died in 1990.
Survivors include: a son, Gary of Tiffin; two brothers, Douglas of Tiffin and Berlin of Upper Sandusky; and a sister, Teresa Looker of Galion.
There will be a family graveside service at a later date at Fairmont cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Ruth Ellen Adkins
Ruth Ellen (Eckelberry) Adkins, 47, of 140 Westwood Drive, Tiffin, Ohio, died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, in Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin, Ohio.
She was born April 4, 1955, in Fremont, Ohio, to Harold and Janet (Howey) Eckelberry and both survive in Tiffin. She married
Tony Adkins Oct. 5, 1974, in Tiffin, Ohio, and he survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Stephen Adkins of West Covina, Calif., and Brian Adkins of Prior Lake, Minn.; two grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob Adkins; and two brothers, James (Pat) Eckelberry of Tiffin, Ohio, and Bill (Jean) Eckelberry of Republic, Ohio.
She was a 1973 Columbian High School graduate.
A travel agent for 25 years, she enjoyed travelling and helping people make their travel arrangements.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, in First Lutheran Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Margaret Marks officiating. Burial will be private in Greenlawn cemetery.

William L. Daniels
William L. Daniels, 73, of 125 High St., Carey, died at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Findlay to Orville and Martha (Moyer) Daniels. They are deceased. He married
Blanche Roarke July 15, 1961. She died Jan. 19, 2001.
Survivors include: two daughters, Eugenia "Jeanie" Gibson and Lisa A. Gonzales both of Carey; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, with burial in Zion Bloom cemetery, Vanlue.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, where there will be a Christian Wake at 7.
Mary Margaret Kisseberth
Mary Margaret Kisseberth, 89, of Elmwood Nursing Home, Green Springs, and previously of McCutchenville, died at 7:25 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
She was born May 6, 1913, in Tiffin to William C. and Margaret (McClory) Barto, and both are deceased. She married
Roscoe Paul Kisseberth June 30, 1931, in McCutchenville; and he died Jan. 19, 1991.
Survivors include: a son, Paul Barto Kisseberth of Stamford, Conn.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linabelle Barto Beach of Fairfax, Va.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Clifton E. Barto and William Oral Barto; and two sisters, Zua VenNest and Edrie Barto.
She was a homemaker and a member of Tiffin Congregation Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall.
There will be a memorial service at a later date at the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall with Richard Barth conducting the service. There will be no burial.
Visitation will be prior to the memorial service once the service time is set.
Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Glenda Lou Smiley
Glenda Lou Smiley, 65, of 636 N. Vance St., Carey, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, in Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
She was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Carey to Ralph W. and Martha R. (Derr) Smiley. They are deceased.
Survivors include: her stepfather, Clarence H. Saunders of St. Cloud, Fla.; fiance, William T. Rook of Carey; two brothers, Richard E. Smiley of Carey and Roger A. Smiley of Upper Sandusky; a sister, Judy A. Hartley of Findlay; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery, Carey.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, where a rosary will be prayed at 8:30 p.m. followed by Catholic Ladies of Columbia Ritual.
Floyd R. George
Floyd Ralph George, 91, of Toledo, died Saturday morning, Dec. 28, 2002, in Atlanta, Ga. Floyd was born on Sept. 12, 1911, in Bloomville, Seneca County. Floyd was orphaned as a boy and raised by his older brothers. With hard work and community support, he created a successful and contributory life.
While teaching Sunday School at the Methodist Church in Bloomville, he met his future wife, Carolyn Brause, who was teaching Sunday School at the E.U.B. church across the street. Floyd and Carolyn were married
April 27, 1940.
Floyd became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in 1942, and remained an active member for 60 years. He wrote a book on the principles of conduit bending that has been distributed nationally. He loved to play host at the American Youth Hostel that he and Carolyn started out of their home after their retirement.
Carolyn preceded Floyd in death on Nov. 10, 2002. He is survived by his sons, David of Atlanta, Ga., and Dan of Santa Barbara, Calif., and his grandchildren, Ivana George, Lauren George and Casey Whitfield.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with the Rev. Randall Pietila officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery in Bloomville.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Terry L. Huffman
Terry L. Huffman, 33, of 7 Beechwood Drive, Tiffin, died at 5:33 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, in a house fire at 5891 N. SR 53, Fort Seneca.
He was born April 28, 1969, in Lebanon, Mo., to Wayne and Ilene (Tabor) Huffman. His mother died Nov. 22, 1998.
Survivors include: his father of Fort Seneca; a brother, Jeffrey W. (Diana) Huffman of Bloomville; and two sisters, Margie (Paul) Dotson of Stryker and Stella M. (Harlan) Brown of Bryan.
He was a 1988 Hopewell-Loudon High School graduate; previously employed as custodian at Burger King, Tiffin; and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Tiffin.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, in Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery, Tiffin.
