Tommy Austin
Tommy Austin, 78, died on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2002 in his home in N.C., formerly of Jr. Order Home of Tiffin. He was born May 10, 1925 to James William "Buck" and Nolle Stephenson Austin.
Surviving include: wife of 55 years, Inez Robertson; a son, Thomas E. Austin of Pageland, S.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Andrea Boggs of Matthews, N.C.; and three nieces.
Mr. Austin served in the U.S. Navy during WW II at Normandy and received a Certificate of Thanks from Office of the Consulate General de France.
Services at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Charlotte, N.C. Burial at Charlotte Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements handled by the McEwen Funeral and Cremation Service, Charlotte Chapel.
Joanne E. Curlis
Joanne E. Curlis, 85, formerly of N. 5th Street, Upper Sandusky and recently of Wyandot County Nursing Home, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at Wyandot County Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky.
She was born Feb. 24, 1917, in Crestline to Nicholas and Frances (Hoffman) Mayer. On July 21, 1940, she married
Richard Curlis at St. Joseph Rectory in Crestline. He died July 30,1997.
Surviving are: a son, John Curlis of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Barbara Houser of Noblesville, Ind.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery in Crestline.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. A Christian wake will be 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Naomi M. Adams
Naomi M. Adams, 91, of Autumnwood Care Center, formerly of 1875 E. TR. 122, Tiffin, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at Autumnwood Care Center.
She was born Feb. 6, 1911, in Upper Sandusky, to Oscar and Minnie Mae (Tremaine) Burg. At age five, she was adopted and raised by H. Grant and Esther Eyestone. On Oct. 12, 1929, she married
Richard M. Adams in Upper Sandusky. He died Oct. 18, 1982.
Survivors include: a son, William F. Adams of Ocala, Fla.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three half-brothers, Ray Burg, Richard Burg, Donald Burg, Oscar Jr., Burg; two half-sisters, Mrs. Eleanor (Hugh) Lindsay and Mrs. Gloria (William) Theil.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Betty Jean; a grandchild; a brother, Franklin Burg and a sister, Mrs. Mildred (Raymond) Young.
Mrs. Adams lived in the Tiffin area for 70 years and graduated from Sycamore High School, class of 1927. She retired as a switchboard operator after 25 years.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Laurie Hill officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Charles D. Miller
Charles D. Miller, 60, of Segur St., Toledo, died 8:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at St. Vincent's Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born Aug. 14, 1942, in North Baltimore, to Charles E. and Ida M. (Steele) Miller. On March 18, 1962, he married
Janet L. (Doll) Miller, in Fostoria. She survives in Toledo.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Diana Miller of Toledo; a brother, Robert Wright of Monroe, Mich., three sisters, Geraldine Harrison of Fostoria, Velma Green of Albion, Ind., Donna Dockery of Tenn.; 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Knollcrest Gardens in Arcadia. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens.
There will be no visitation.
Ella M. Miller
Ella M. Miller, 86, of Winebrenner Village in Findlay, died 9:25 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at Winebrenner Village.
She was born April 4, 1916, in Wayne, to the late Dewey and Viola (Pierce) Frankfather. On March 21, 1942, she married
Carl A. "Pete" Miller, in Tiffin. He died Dec. 23, 1996.
Surviving are: a brother Henry F. Frankfather of Bellevue.
She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur L. Miller; two grandsons, Scott and John Miller and her husband.
Mrs. Miller retired in 1968 from Ford Co. in Fostoria where she worked as an assembler. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria, with the Rev. Ulmont Blackburn officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens in Arcadia.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

William B. 'Bill' Engle
William B. "Bill" Engle, 78, formerly of Tiffin, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002.
He was a World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He was a life member of VFW 7174, American Legion Post 21, Masonic Lodge 77, F&AM, Tiffin and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo.
Mr. Engle is survived by a sister, Dorothy; a brother, Robert; seven nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews.
Mr. Engle had requested cremation with no visitation or memorial services. Private burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery in Tiffin.
Arrangements are being handled by Ohio Cremation and Memorial Society/Rodman Funeral Service in Columbus.
Russell U. Jones
Russell U. Jones, 94, of St. Catherine's Care Center in Fostoria, died 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at the Care Center.
He was born Dec. 15, 1907, in Fostoria, to the late Russell and Hazel (Moore) Jones. On Aug. 29, 1932, he married
Marie (Doll) Jones in Bowling Green. She died Jan. 10, 1998.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.
David F. 'Whitey' Mann
David F. "Whitey" Mann, 92, 23 Melissa St., Tiffin, died at 3 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at his home.
He was born in Tiffin, Feb. 10, 1910, to the late Clarence C. and Rosanna Blanche (Derr) Mann. On Feb. 15, 1945, in St. Mary's Parsonage, he married
Helen Letterhos, who survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Richard F. Mann of Fostoria; two daughters, Karen S. Gill and Joyce A. Mann, both of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Joshua D. Mann of Bowling Green, Robbyne F. Gill of Tiffin and Carrie R. Mann of Columbus.
A son, James K. Mann; and two brothers, Elbert Mann and Clarence C. Mann Jr., also are deceased.
Mr. Mann, a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, had worked at Floom-Fleck Wholesale Grocers and the American Standard. He also was a member of American Legion Post 354, VFW Post 2858 and Tiffin Lodge 77 Free and Accepted Masons. He served in the Army during World War II in Company B with the 148th Infantry. He had resided in the Tiffin area all his life.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jarad Williams officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, where the United Veterans Council will conduct military graveside services.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Ridge Church and Heartland Home Care and Hospice.
Daniel A. Estep
Daniel A. "Boon" Estep, 21, of 211 S. Broadway, Green Springs, died at 8:21 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at his residence.
He was born in Sandusky Oct. 12, 1981, to Michael E. and Cynthia L. (Black) Estep.
Survivors include: his father of Clyde; his mother of Green Springs; a daughter, Sidnee LeeAnn Estep and her mother, Brandi Cooksey, of Clyde; step-father, Lupe Sauseda of Green Springs; maternal grandparents, Charles and Marilyn Black; step-grandmother, Jackie Harvey; two brothers, Jason Estep of Green Springs and Michael Estep of Columbus; six step-brothers, Lupe, Tony, Jaun, Jesse, Robert and Quaintance Sauseda; a step-sister, Mary Ann Sauseda; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Engle-Young Funeral Home, Green Springs. There will be no burial at this time.
Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Melva M. Rohrbacher
Melva M. Rohrbacher, 65, of 203 Park St., Republic, died Friday morning, Oct. 18, 2002, in the emergency room at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, after a sudden illness.
She was born Feb. 5, 1937, in Green Springs, to Melvin E. and Carrie L. (Frederick) Hayward. On Sept. 25, 1955, she married
Arden R. Rohrbacher in Bellevue. He survives in Republic.
Also surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Lescenda "Cindy" Farrar of Clyde and Mrs. Tina Clements of Bellevue; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a brother, Gordon Hayward of Republic.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Yvette Hayward, and a brother, Dean Hayward.
Mrs. Rohrbacher was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tiffin.
Funeral will be 11 a. m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 SR 19, Bloomville, with Pastor Mickey McManus. Burial will be in Block cemetery, Republic.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the First Baptist Church.
David L. Hill
David L. Hill, 69, 1876 CR 220, Clyde, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Bellevue Hospital.
He was born Nov. 15, 1932, in Findlay, to the late Myron and Liddy (Yoakum) Hill. On Aug. 1, 1986, he married
Terri (Lynn) Hill in Tiffin. She survives in Clyde.
Also surviving are two sons, David Hill of Green Springs and Gerald Hill of Clyde; two daughters, Tina Thompson of Fremont and Sonya Hill, at home; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Ivan Hill of Tiffin, Melvin Hill of Sycamore, James Hill of Fremont and John Hill of Green Springs; a sister, Ruth Ann Wise of Green Springs.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Foos-Klein Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery, Green Springs.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Vivian Louise Myers
Vivian Louise Myers, 80, resident of the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Fostoria, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Republic, to Milo and Hannah (Shultz) Staley. In January 1940, she married
Eddie L. Myers in Fostoria. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are: a son, LeRoy Myers of Arcadia, Fla.; four daughters, Doris Bethel, Janet Mays, Nancy Crisp, all of Fostoria, and Margaret Ann Miller of Sidney; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Staley of New Haven, Fla.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery in Fostoria.

Violet Golembiowski
Violet Golembiowski, 101, formerly of CR 236, Clyde, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at Arbors of Clyde.
She was born April 16, 1901, in Fremont, to Edward and Sophie (Meyers) Schmitke. On Sept. 29, 1920, she married
John Golembiowski. He died in February 1974.
Surviving are: two sons, Vincent Golembiowski of Clyde and Ronald Golembiowski of Florida; a daughter, Mrs. Marvel Cherry of Fremont; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Forest Street in Clyde. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.
Agnes Mildred Miller
Agnes Mildred Miller, 91, formerly of Co. Hwy. 113, Upper Sandusky, died 7:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, in Wyandot Co. Nursing Home, where she has been since 2000.
She was born Dec. 1, 1910, in Wyandot County to George and Bessie (Leib) Cook. On April 3, 1934, she married
William M. Miller in Kentucky. He died July 6, 1989.
Surviving are: a daughter Betty Coleen Cheney of Upper Sandusky; two grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bringman Clark & Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Joyce H. Lewis
Joyce H. Lewis, 42, 824 S. Popular St., Fostoria, died 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at her brother's home in Findlay.
She was born Feb. 27, 1960, in Fostoria, to the late Lawrence "Larry" and Mary A. (Reinhart) Bergstedt.
Surviving are: three sons, David L. Bergstedt, Sean A. Bergstedt, Greggory S. Lewis II, all of Fostoria; three daughters, Joy A. Bailey of Fostoria, April M. Bergstedt and Mary Jean Lewis, both of Rockbridge; three grandchildren; four brothers, Robert Bergstedt of Fostoria, Carl "Joe" Bergstedt of Findlay, Donald Bergstedt and Roger Bergstedt, both of Fostoria; two sisters, Rose Lucius of Tiffin, Norma Thompson of Fostoria.

Carl F. Depinet
Carl F. Depinet, 85, of Bascom, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Elmwood at the Shawhan.
He was born Nov. 16, 1916, in Loudon Township to John and Frances (Reindl) Depinet. On June 7, 1939, he married
Bernadine M. (Brickner) Depinet in St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rural Bascom. She died Feb. 18, 2001.
Surviving are: six sons, Edward and David Depinet, both of Tiffin, Steven Depinet of Fostoria, Dennis Depinet of Bascom, Donald Depinet of Westfield, Ind., Michael Depinet of Carmel, Ind.; five daughters, Mrs. Joanne (Louis) Smith of Fremont, Mrs. Doris (Robert) Powell of Sanford, N.C., Mrs. Betty (Ron) Cain of Ottawa Lake, Mich., Mrs. Martha (Joe) Uveges of Louisville, Ky. and Margaret "Meg" Mizen of Tiffin; 33 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Depinet was a 1934 graduate of Jackson-Liberty High School. He was a farmer, bus driver, manager of Bascom Mutual Telephone Company and an electrician. He was a charter member of Bascom Lions Club and recipient of the Melvin Jones award. Mr. Depinet was a zoning inspector for Hopewell Township and R C I A coordinator for St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bascom, of which he was a member.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, with the Rev. Art Niewiadomski officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 10:15 Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Patrick cemetery, Bascom.
Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home in Tiffin, with a Wake Service at 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, St. Patrick Church, St. Andrew Church, Hopewell-Loudon School or to a charity of the donor's choice.
