Marion Dale 'Doc' Auble

Marion Dale "Doc" Auble, 73, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at his home.

He was born in 1929, in Republic.

Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Tali Auble of Arlington, Va.; a granddaughter, Kylie Auble; two brothers, Neil Auble of Natick, Mass. and Ron Auble of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews and his closest friend, Sam Neifer of Republic.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Auble; his parents, Noble and Mildred Auble and a son, Doug.

Doc served his country in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years, including assignments in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his retirement in 1969, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.

At Doc's request, there will be no funeral services. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Beal Memorial cemetery, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

Arrangements are by the Emerald Coast Funeral Home, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

Genevieve M. Bowman

Genevieve M. "Jean" Bowman, 95, formerly of Biscayne Street, Toledo, died at 2:44 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.

She was born June 7, 1907, in Toledo, to Ralph and Minnie (Slund) Parish. She married George L. Bowman on April 16, 1925, in Monroe County, Mich. He died on Jan. 9, 1995.

Surviving are: five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Public committal services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Toledo Memorial Park, with burial to follow.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Richard E. Heimlich

Richard E. Heimlich of Attica, died Sept. 22, 2002. Richard, also known as Dick or Doc, has led an inspiring life of service. He was born Sept. 17, 1927, to Wilbert W. and Gertrude (Lehner) Heimlich. He grew up near Cardington, Ohio, and, after high school, served in the Army Air Force. Following his post-WW II service in the Philippines, he attended Capital University and received both his BS and MS degrees from the Ohio State University.

He taught vocational agriculture for 30 years, starting at Ridgeville Corners, and then at Attica/Seneca East, where he also coached the Seneca East golf team for several years. He has been a life member of the National Vocational Agricultural Teachers' Association. "Doc" organized SE Young Farmers and guided many of his students' ag teams to state awards. In 1981-1982 he received the Outstanding Teacher Award from the Ohio Vocational Agricultural Teachers' Association.

Dick was actively involved with the Attica Fair since 1956, serving as Junior Fair Superintendent from 1956 to 1983 and serving about 20 years on the Attica Fair Board.

He was a charter member of the Attica Lions Club and supported the Lions International in many ways over 45 years, including serving as a District Governor in '85-'86. A long-time member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Attica, Dick served on the church council, including several terms as council president, and taught Sunday School for more than 30 years.

In spite of a 16 year battle with Parkinson's Disease, Richard remained an active member of the Lion's Club, the Attica Fair Board, Lutheran Brotherhood and other organizations. He became a Master Gardener (Seneca County Extension) a few years ago and enjoyed continuing to learn.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Fannie Weber Heimlich. He is also survived by his children, Maria Stampahar of Trafford, Pa., Joseph of Columbus, Wesley of Miami, Fla. and Clifford of Tiro. He will also abe missed by his six grandchildren: Heather Heimlich, Aaron Skutch, Danielle Heimlich, Amanda Skutch, Derek Heimlich and Benjamin Stampahar. He is survived by his sister, Clara McClenathan of Cardington; his brothers, Ernest of Houston, Texas, Junior of Cardington and Marvin of Marion; and by his uncle Melvin Lehner of Marion. He has numerous nieces, nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Marc.

Continuing his service to others, Richard has donated his body for research. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service for Richard on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Attica. There will be a Lions' service at 10 a.m. with the memorial service at 11 a.m. The family invites all to attend an informal gathering at the church following the memorial service.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Attica Lions Club for a sight project, Attica, Ohio 44807; Parkinson's Disease Foundation, OPF/N. W. Region, 12740 TR 114, Fostoria, Ohio 44830 or Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 326 S. Main St., Box 515, Attica, Ohio 44807.

C.B. Montgomery

C.B. Montgomery, 71, formerly of Clyde, now of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Bay Medical Center, Fla.

He was born March 3, 1931, in Salyersville, Ky., to Gomer and Vida (Rowe) Montgomery. On Dec. 14,1948, he married Nancy (Combs) Montgomery. She survives in Florida.

Also surviving are: two sons, Michael Montgomery of Clyde, Mark Montgomery of Fremont; two daughters, Linda Shepard of Perrinton, Mich., Karen Langley of Clyde and nine grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be in Lay-Butternur Ridge cemetery in Rural Clyde.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be 6:45 p.m. Sunday.

Arlene P. Arbogast

Arlene P. Arbogast, 92, of St. Francis Home, formerly of Walker Street, Tiffin, died 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at St. Francis Home in Tiffin.

She was born Aug. 16, 1910, in Sycamore, to Glenn H. and Grace (Parker) Grelle. She married Howard Arbogast who preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be private. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

There will be no visitation.

Thomas E. Austin

Thomas E. Austin, 77, of Charlotte, N.C., died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Charlotte Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 55 years, Inez Robertson Austin; children, Andrea Boggs and husband Arnold of Matthews, N.C., and Thomas E. Austin, Jr. and wife Kathy of Pageland, S.C.; grandsons, Derek Boggs of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Robbie and Eddie Griffin of Pageland, S.C.; three nieces and their children. He was preceded in death by six brothers.

Mr. Austin grew up at the Junior Order Children's Homes in Tiffin, Ohio, and Lexington, N.C. from the age of six months until he graduated from high school. Tom was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran, having served at North Africa and Normandy. He retired from Seaboard Railroad. Tom was a lifetime member and held leadership positions in the VFW, American Legion, and Jr. O.U.A.M. He was a visionary who preserved Jr. Home history by spearheading the naming of the Ohio Memorial Church to the National and State Lists of Historical Places, and the designing and development of the Jr. Home War Memorial and the Jr. Home Marquee, along with the ongoing restoration of the Ohio Memorial Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Junior Home Alumni Association Church Repair Fund, c/o Lula McGrath, 10411 Takeridge Court, Charlotte, N.C. 28277; VFW Post 4059 Homeless Veterans' Burial Fund, P.O. Box 23146, Mint Hill, N.C. 28227; Hickory Grove Baptist Church, or Hospice.

Lila M. Albright

Lila M. Albright, 84, of Fremont, died Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 9, 2002, in the Bethesda Care Center, Fremont.

She was born in Bellevue, Sept. 1, 1918, to Edwin J. and Laura (Kutz) Moyer. On Oct. 19, 1940, in Shelby, she married Albert C. Albright. He passed on May 15, 1988.

Surviving are daughters, Sandy (Haldon) Copsey and Cheryl (Ron) Hamilton, both of Kansas, Ohio; son, Mark (Jodi) Albright of Fremont; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Schaefer of Bellevue; grandchildren, Traci (Copsey) Dunn, Rebecca (Copsey) Wright, Jill (Hamilton) Earl and Brittany and Nicole Albright; great-grandchildren, Kaila Dunn, Garret Dunn, Shaw Wright and MaKayla Earl; and a step-great-granddaughter, Andrea Wright.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Isabelle Peltier and infant sister and brother, Evelyn and Keith Moyer.

A graduate of Bellevue High School, Lila worked as a homemaker and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the American Arthritis Foundation. Lila lived for her family and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellevue. An avid reader and crossword player, she also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She loved playing cards and belonged to a local Fremont Pinochle Club.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Nopper-Karlovetz Mortuary, Fremont, where visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, Oct. 11. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Fremont.,

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.

Andrew 'Leroy' Noggle Jr.

Andrew "Leroy" Noggle Jr. of 36 Buttles Ave., Columbus, and former Bloomville resident, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 9, 2002, in Columbus Rehabilitation and Subacute Institute, Columbus.

He was born Oct. 27, 1938, to Andrew L. Noggle Sr. and Ethel (Kent) Mayer. He never married .

Survivors include: three brothers, George of Sycamore, Robert of Upper Sandusky, and Vernon of Columbus. He had been in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lindsay-Olds Funeral Home, Bloomville. Military graveside services will be by the United Veterans Council at the Woodlawn cemetery, Bloomville.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Patrick C. Omlor

Patrick C. "Cornelius" Omlor, 41, of 81 Minerva St., died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Arrangements are pending at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Thomas G. Martin

Thomas G. Martin, 58, of Perrysburg Road, Fostoria, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002.

He was born Jan. 17, 1944, in Fostoria to Fredrick and Oletha (Corner) Martin who are deceased.

Survivors include: a son, Jason of Fostoria; a daughter, Brooke Martin of Torrance, Calif.; two grandchildren; four sisters, Janet Nolan of Wayne, Judy Pessell of Arcadia, Kathy Cooper of Findlay, and Jenny Roehl of Toledo.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Knollcrest Gardens cemetery near Arcadia.

There will be no visitation.

Wilbur E. Hartman

Wilbur E. Hartman, 81, of 220 Riverside Dr., Tiffin, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, in St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs.

He was born May 30, 1921, in Hancock County to Val and Elda (Bender) Hartman and they are deceased.

He married Joan Kirchner Dec. 28, 1946, in Tiffin and she survives.

Other survivors include: two grandchildren, Tammy Coots and Mike (Joanne) Perkins both of Tiffin; and five great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Valerie Perkins, is also deceased.

He was a Findlay High School graduate and attended Heidelberg College and Tiffin University.

He was County Veterans Service Officer for Veterans Administration for 26 years. He was in the U.S. Army during World Ward II and served in South Pacific, Philippines and Korea. His citations included the Purple Heart, Bronze Medal with three oakleaf clusters, four Bronze Stars, and one Arrow Head.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Seneca Memory Gardens with the entombment also being there. The Rev. John Halstead will be the officiant.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Warren J. Moore

Warren J. (Pete) Moore, 66, of South Point, Ohio, formerly of Tiffin, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, in St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, Huntington, W.V.

He was born April 22, 1936, in Fairmont, W.V., a son of the late Eugene Warren and Marguerite Jay Johnson Moore.

He retired as General Manager of Pilgrim Glass, a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and was a volunteer for Faith in Action/Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers.

He was also preceded by a wife, Elizabeth Susan Moore. Surviving are his wife, Christine T. Moore; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nellie E. and Gary Wright of Mansfield, Ohio, Jayne E. and Michael Thornton of Pemberville, Ohio, Kellie and Steve Steinmetz of Tiffin, Ohio; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan D. and Julie Moore of Aberdeen, N.C., Peter J. and Diane Moore of Tiffin, Ohio, Devin Moore of Mt. Pleasant, Pa.; two stepchildren, Kimberly L. Fetter of Harrison City, Pa. and Matthew G. Fetter of Greensburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Ann Moore of Fairmont, W.V., a brother and sister-in-law, David and Virginia Moore of Atlanta, Ga., and many loving friends.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Huntington, W.V.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society or St. Peter's Episcopal Church. The family invites friends and relatives to share memories with them from 7-9 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2002, at the Hampton Inn, 2492 S. SR 231, Tiffin.

Newman K. Neal

Newman K. Neal, 72, of 602 Westhaven Drive, and the past three and one half years at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, died at 9:54 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, in St. Lukes Hospital, Maumee.

He was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Clay County, W.Va., to the late Clark E. and Jessie L. (Adkins) Neal. On Oct. 17, 1950, in Wellston, Ohio, he married Marilyn L. Collins. She survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: three sons, Clark F. Neal of Monroe, Mich., Larry S. Neal of Wyoming, Mich. and Duane K. Neal of St. Mary's Pa.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mavis Adkins of Circleville, Ohio, Bernice Burkhamer of West Virginia, Opal Daft of Ashville, Ohio and Phyllis Phillips of Wellston, Ohio.

A sister, Agnes Keller preceded him in death.

Mr. Neal retired after 12 years as a local locksmith and retired in 1980 after 18 years from the Chrysler Foundry, Fostoria and the Nickle Plate Railroad where he worked 1950-1959. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran serving in the World War II era . He was a 3rd degree member of the Knight of Columbus Council 1197 and 4th degree member of Father Kirsch Assembly 845, Knights of Columbus, Fostoria.

A public graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria, where burial will take place. Pastor David Chapman will officiate. There will be private family visitation.

Memorials may be made to St. Catherine's Care Center Activities Fund, Fostoria Baptist Church or St. Wendelin Catholic Church, all in care of Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830.

Herman A. Dennis

Herman A. Dennis, 88, of Burnham Drive, Fostoria, died at 4:09 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 in St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee. He was born Aug. 6, 1914 in Fostoria to Ansel and Clara (Gobel) Dennis. He first married Dorothy Rowles in 1941 in Fostoria, she died in 1983. He then married Wanda Pelton-Crammer in Nov. 1985 in Fostoria, she died in 1993.

Surviving include: a step-son, Larry Crammer of N.Y.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Linda Hathaway of Bryan, and Mrs. Lois Myers of Fostoria; a brother, Joel Dennis-Basinger of Fostoria; two sisters, Gladys Dennis-Basinger of Fostoria, and Anselia Regnier of Eclectic, AL; seven step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

Mr. Dennis was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WW II and a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Services at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial at Fountain cemetery, where Military Honors will be conducted by the Joint Veterans Group of Fostoria.

Visitation hours are from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Patrick C. Omlor

Patrick C. "Cornelius" Omlor, 41, 81 Minerva St., Tiffin, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born Sept. 16, 1961, in Tiffin, to the late Richard T. and Mary Theresa (Crist) Omlor.

Surviving are six brothers, Joseph Omlor of Findlay, Phillip Omlor of Spokane, Wash. Robert, Kenneth and Daniel Omlor, all of Tiffin and Gerald (Melissa) Omlor of Lake Charles, La.; four sisters, Jane Swan of San Diego, Calif., Theresa Provino of Tiffin, Mrs. Michael (Angela) Locicero of Encinitas, Calif. and Annette Walters, also of Tiffin; five nieces, nine grand nieces, 11 nephews and five grand nephews.

A self-employed painter, Mr. Omlor was a member of the Catholic faith.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stephen Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday and 9:30 a.m. until time of the service Tuesday at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
