James Joe Klingman

James Joe Klingman, 58, of 1441 Tiffin Road, Fremont, died Saturday evening, Sept. 21, 2002, in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.

He was born in Fremont to Donald and Laura M. (Duquette) Klingman.

Survivors include: a son, Donald J. of Bowling Green; a daughter, Mary E. Williams of Grayson, Ga.; and a brother, Robert of Fremont.

Services were Wednesday at the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, Fremont.

Timothy Burgart

Timothy Burgart, 26, of Mansfield died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002 in Seneca County from injuries due to an automobile accident.

He was born March 17, 1976, in San Bernadino, Calif. He married Stephanie Burgart Sept. 7, 2002. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Andrew Burgart; his father, Gary L. Burgart of Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother, Kathryn Massey of Toledo; a brother, Christopher Burgart; and a stepsister, Kristin Straub of Mansfield.

He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors with military services following in Shauck cemetery.

Glenn William Plaskett

Glenn William Plaskett, 80, formerly of Canton, and more recently residing in Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 28, 2002, in the Chiara Center at the St. Francis Nursing Center in Tiffin.

Born in North Industry Feb. 21, 1922, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. 9th Army Airforce. He was a retired employee of the Diebold Co., retiring in 1984 after 43 years of service. Mr. Plaskett also had served as a custodian at Trinity United Methodist Church in Canton for 19 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Flora Plaskett; a son, Robert Plaskett; a brother, Jesse Plaskett; and two sisters, Naomi Black-Thouvenin and Eloyse Hockensmith-Snyder.

He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Canton, the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, Canton Repository Ex-Newsboys and the Canton South High School Alumni Association.

Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Elatha J. Plaskett of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Donald Plaskett and Karen Kordisch of Palatine, Ill.; his daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Craig McKenzie of Tiffin; a brother, Delbert Plaskett of North Industry; two grandchildren, Heather and Matthew McKenzie of Tiffin.

Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Reed Funeral Home, Canton, with the Rev. George Roberts, the Rev. Ruth Moore, and the Rev. Mark Black officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery,

Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Candace L. Arnold

Candace L. Arnold, 51 of East Tiffin Street, Fostoria, died at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at her home.

She was born May 9, 1951, in Kenton, to John and Mary (Firestone) Johnston. On June 5, 1969, she married Brian E. Arnold in Kenton. He survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: three sons, Timothy Arnold of Fostoria, Shawn Arnold of North Baltimore and Chad Arnold of Findlay; a sister, Virginia Oldham of Kenton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sharon Scott.

Mrs. Arnold was a 1969 graduate of Kenton High School in Kenton. She was a member of the Union United Church of Christ in Bascom, Loudon Grange and participant of the"Relay for Life."

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria, with the Rev. Jim Michaels officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens cemetery, near Arcadia.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Union United Church of Christ in Bascom, Seneca County Relay for Life, or Fostoria Home Health Care.

John Bloom Jr.

John Bloom Jr., 80, formerly of 910 Petersburg St., Sycamore, died at 8:20 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, in Wyandot County Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky.

He was born Dec. 31, 1921, in Fremont, to Joseph and Mary Bloom.

He married Martha L. (Remlinger) Bloom Sept. 11, 1954. She died July 22, 1989.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Bloom; a brother, John Bloom.

Surviving are: two sons, John F. Bloom of Carey and Anthony Bloom of rural Sycamore; five daughters, Miss Christine Bloom of Columbus, Mrs. Mary (Joseph) Paulus and Ms. Josephine Snook, both of rural Sycamore, Mrs. Agnes (Douglas) Williams of Bellville and Mrs. Margaret (Ronald) Daugherty of Jerusalem; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rita (Linus) Goshe of Tiffin and Mrs. Dorothy Brudzinski of Fremont.

Mr. Bloom was a retired farmer and also worked for Bill Sower's Tree Service and Nursery in Sycamore.

He was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church in Sycamore and a member of Mohawk Sixty Plus Club. Mr. Bloom loved to read.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Sycamore, with the Rev. Stephen Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery in Sycamore.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. A wake service will be at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County, Mohawk Sixty Plus Club or Wyandot County Nursing Home.

Edward S. Keiffer

Edward S. Keiffer, 44, of Hamilton, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at his home.

He was born Sept. 22, 1958, in Fostoria, to Carl and Frances (Chapman) Keiffer. On Feb. 13, 1988, he married Tammy Ryan in Glastonbury, Conn. She survives in Hamilton.

Other survivors include: his mother, Frances Keiffer of Fostoria; a son, Jacob Walker-Keiffer of York, Pa.; two daughters, Sade Ann and Haley Keiffer, at home; two brothers, Charles Keiffer of St. Petersburg, Fla., and David Keiffer of Orlando, Fla.; six sisters, Mrs. Carol (William) Watson, Mrs. Peggy (Steve) Gebauer, Mrs. Patricia (Dennis) Hogan, Mrs. Jan (Miles) Reinhard, all of Fostoria, Robyn Meadows of Lula, Ga., and Mrs. Julie (David) Goodrick of Cannel Fulton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Keiffer.

Mr. Keiffer was employed as an EPA Procurement Specialist for the OHM/Shaw Group of Cincinnati. He was a 1977 graduate of Fostoria High School.

Mr. Keiffer received an associate's degree in Civil Construction at Stark College and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Chadwick University. Mr. Keiffer was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Hamilton and former member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. He was a soccer coach for the recreation department in Hamilton.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria.

Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, where Military Honors will be conducted by the Joint Veterans Group of Fostoria.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria, where the Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Seneca County or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Raymond Zucker

Raymond Zucker, 86, of Buchanan Street, Fremont, died at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at The Rutherford House in Fremont.

He was born July 30, 1916, in Bettsville, to Arnold and Emma (Geiger) Zucker. On Oct. 21, 1939, he married Kathleen (O'Tool) Zucker at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont. She died June 21, 1993.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Anita Geller of Fremont and Lynn Zucker-Shuckman of Cincinnati; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.

Burial will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Thursday.

Bonnie L. Bahnsen

Bonnie L. Bahnsen, 53, of Miller Street, Fremont, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at her home.

She was born Jan. 11, 1949, in Port Clinton, to the late Carl J. and Betty (DeMars) Bahnsen.

Surviving are: a son, Richard Farmer of Fremont; a daughter, Rhonda Johnson of Baker City, Ore.; a brother, James Bahnsen of Toledo; a sister, Debra Foos of Tiffin; and seven grandchildren.

There will be no services.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home in Fremont.

Donald W. Hannum

Donald W. Hannum, 68, of 34 East New Haven St., Bloomville, died Monday morning, Sept. 30, 2002, at his home.

He was born April 14, 1934, in Plankton, to Ralph and Alice (Dunlap) Hannum. On Dec. 28, 1952, he married Betty Jo Hufford, in Sycamore. She survives in Bloomville.

Other survivors include: his mother, Alice Hannum of Sycamore; two daughters, Mrs. Diana (Randall) Stine of Tiffin, Mrs. Kathy (Ken) Stockmaster of Sycamore; five grandchildren, Ben, Brad, Luke, Kimberly and Leigha; a brother, Jack Hannum of Cleveland; two sisters, Marylou Lundy of Upper Sandusky and Mrs. Shirley (Howard) Feasel of Sycamore.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Hannum and his step-father, Ray Hannum.

Mr. Hannum had worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a Postal Contractor, retiring Sept. 30, 1995.

He was a member of the Bloomville United Methodist Church, an Air Force Korean Conflict veteran, a life member of the Caulfield American Legion Post 434 in Bloomville, a life member of the VFW Post 3343 of Clyde; a member of the Loyal Order of the Eagles Aerie 2291 in Clyde. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. He was also an avid golfer, golfing in the Monday and Thursday mornings retiree league at Seneca Hills Golf Course.

Funeral will be Thursday morning, Oct. 3, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Bloomville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Randall Pietila officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery in Bloomville. Military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veteran Council.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

William A. Hosler Jr.

William A. Hosler, Jr., 79, resident of St. Francis Nursing Home and formerly of Beechwood Dr., Tiffin, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at St. Francis Home.

He was born July 7, 1923, in North Baltimore, to the late William A. and Bertha Pearl (Thompson) Hosler. On March 14, 1947, he married Frances A. (Damon) Hosler in Bowling Green. She died Nov. 2, 1984.

Surviving are: four brothers, Bobby Hosler and Orlo Hosler, both of Findlay, Clifford Hosler of North Baltimore and Ralph Hosler of Whitehouse; two sisters, Mary Ann Dippler of Findlay and Betty Thompson of Port Clinton.

Mr. Hosler received the following Campaign Bars while serving in WW II: two Purple Hearts, American Theater, WW II Victory, Philippine Liberation and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. He also served during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, retiring from the U.S. Navy in 1969, after serving 25 years, with the rank M. L. 3 Molder .

Memorial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the New Beginnings Assembly of God in Tiffin, with the Rev. Rex Ring, officiating. Burial will be in Arlington cemetery, Wash., D.C.

There will be no visitation.

The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

John W. 'Jack' Shank Jr.

John W. "Jack" Shank, Jr., 83 of Reservoir Road, St. Clairsville, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born June 5, 1919, in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., a son of the late John Sr. and Grayce Piper Shank.

Jack was retired Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, having served in WW II, and taught as a reservist in the Warwood, W.Va. Navy Training Center. He also retired from First Energy Co. as a maintenance supervisor.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of St. Clairsville; a life member of the VFW Post 5356, and the Navy Enlisted Reserve Association and past president of St. Clairsville Junior Sports Association.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Jean Hunter.

Survivors include: his wife, M. Betty Berry Shank; a son, Larry and his wife, Barbara Shank of New Concord; a brother, Charles R. Shank of Panama City, Fla.; a granddaughter, Gretchen L. Shank of Dayton and a grandson, Christopher W. Shank of New Concord.

Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 204 W. Main St., St. Clairsville, where services will be 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Homer Harden officiating. Burial with military rites by the Belmont County Council of the VFW will follow at Union cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville.

Susan A. Frankart

Susan A. Frankart, 55, of Heidelberg, Germany, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, in Heidelberg University Hospital, Heidelberg, Germany.

She was born July 27, 1947, in Tiffin, to Louis F. Frankart, who survives in Tiffin and Gertrude Steinmetz Frankart, who died in 1951. She never married

Surviving are her adoptive mother, Rosella (Welter) Frankart of Tiffin; and a brother, Mark L. Frankart of Bayfield, Wis.

Miss Frankart, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, graduated in 1965 from Calvert High School and from Siena Heights College, Adrian, Mich. in 1969. In June 1970, she joined the American Red Cross, working with the Army in Vietnam until October 1971. She was employed as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist at the Philadelphia Navel Hospital until October, 1974.

On Nov. 11, 1974, she accepted a position with the Army in West Berlin where she served for 20 years in numerous capacities. At the end of the American occupation in West Berlin, she was assigned to Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany, as Program Manager for Morale, Welfare and Recreation where she served until her death.

She was one of the highest decorated female civilian employees in the U.S. Army, having received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award for an act of courage and numerous other Meritorious Civilian Service awards and has been named an Outstanding Young Woman of America.

A memorial service took place Sept. 30 in the Army Chapel in Heidelberg, Germany. A Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Msgr. Edward Dunn officiating. The rosary will be prayed at 10:45 a.m. at the church. Private graveside services will be in St. Joseph cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.
