Bridia G. Risner
Bridia G. Risner, 85, of 108 E. Main St., Vanlue, died at 6:50 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, in Autumnwood Care Center.
She was born April 22, 1917, in Salyersville, Ky., to Roscoe and Laura (Hampton) Salyer. She married
Wiley D. Risner Feb. 28, 1945, and he died June 28, 1968.
Survivors include: three sons, Eldon of Carey, Daniel of Springfield and William of Tiffin; two daughters, Sandra Spiess of Monroe, Mich., and Andrea Logsdon of Tiffin; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with burial in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Franklin G. Peltier
Franklin G. "Frank" Peltier, 79, 428 Burnham Drive, Fostoria, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, in The Independence House, Fostoria.
He was born May 31, 1923, in Fremont, to the late Frank and Rose (Frank) Peltier. On May 26, 1947, in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Fremont, he married
Jean Agnes Hughes. She died June 19, 1999.
Surviving are five sons, Gary Peltier of Waynesboro, Va., Gregory and Dennis Peltier, both of Fostoria, David Peltier of Alexandria, Ohio, and James Peltier of Belgrade, Mont.; eight grandchildren, a great-granddaughter; and two brothers, Donald Peltier of Fostoria and Fredrick Peltier of Toledo.
He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Robert and Eugene Peltier; and a sister, Virginia Smith.
Mr. Peltier retired as vice-president of The Commercial Bank in Fostoria. A World War II U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, he was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria; Third Degree Knight of Columbus Council 1197, Fostoria, and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Fremont.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. The rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish cemetery, Fostoria, where the United Veterans of Fostoria will conduct military honors.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Schools Educational Foundation.
Dorothy L. Williams
Dorothy L. Williams, 85, 56 W. Perry St., Tiffin, died at 5:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, in Marion General Hospital.
She was born May 25, 1917, in Tiffin, to the late Glenn and Marcy (Fox) Williams. She never married
.
Survivors include: five sisters, Mrs. Leo (Grace L.) Spino of Norwalk, Mrs. Don (Mary Belle) Schmidt of Sandusky, Mrs. Richard (Jeraldine N.) Malone of Huron, Mrs. Alfred (Bertha W.) Correll of Melmore and Mrs. Edward (Norma) Flechtner of Tiffin.
Three brothers, Glenn L., Hugh E. and Lehman Williams, also are deceased; and a sister, Joyce Sowell died in 1983.
A 1934 graduate of Melmore High School, she retired from the Betty Jane Center. She was a member of Melmore United Methodist Church.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Howard Huston officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Betty Jane Center or Melmore U.M.C.
Michael John Picciuto
Michael John Picciuto, 36, of 7320 Kingsbury Circle, Tampa, Fla., died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, in Tampa.
He was born April 1, 1966, in Lucas County to Vincent D. "Jim" and Carolyn A. "Sue" (Hager) Picciuto.
Survivors include: his mother of Tiffin; a daughter, Michelle Picciuto of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Jill Picciuto, residing with her mother in Tiffin; his fiancee, Denise Steele of Tampa; and a nephew, Neal Picciuto of Tiffin.
His father preceded him in death in 1981.
Mr. Picciuto attended Tiffin schools and was a graduate of Xenia School. He was owner of Davis 1 Delicatessen in Tampa.
An Eagles member, Mr. Picciuto was very active in sports, bowling and golfing.
He was a former member and altar boy at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic cemetery.
Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Sharita R. 'Shari' Gatchell
Sharita R. "Shari" Gatchell, 49, of 11527 Township Hwy. 28, Carey, died 11:15 Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at her residence.
She was born April 28, 1953, in Lima to the late Harold L. and Dorothy L. (Friestuhler) Mills. She married
Tim Coldiron and they divorced. She then married
Kenneth W. Gatchell on June 4, 1983. He survives in Carey.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Randi Ann Siegenthaler of Kalida; two grandchildren; a brother, Randall Mills of Findlay; two sisters, Pamela Butte of Arlington and Tonita Howard of North Fort Myers, Fla.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Carey. Burial will be Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Friday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
Alma F. Moyer
Alma F. Moyer, 84, formerly of Tiffin, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Fairhaven Community Nursing Home in Upper Sandusky.
She was born Aug. 27, 1917, in Trimble, Ohio, to the late George W. and Elizabeth L. (Caldwell) Canter. She married
Willard Merrill and he preceded her in death March 29, 1969. She married
Vernie W. Moyer, and he died April 10, 1975.
Survivors include: a son, Willard Merrill of Fort Myers, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Rinesmith of Lady Lake, Fla., Ms. Shirley Greene of Norwalk, and Mrs. Michael (Linda) Wagner of Urbana; 28 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Gaietto and Judy Robinson; five brothers, George, Charles, Amos, Owen and Clinton Canter; and three sisters, Bessie, Myrtle and Stella.
Mrs. Moyer was a housewife and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with the Rev. Russell Gumm officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, Wyandot County Hospice, Alzheimer's Support Group of Tiffin and Seneca County or a charity of the donor's choice.
James A. Thomas Sr.
James A. Thomas Sr., U.S. Army retired, passed away peacefully after a long bout with cancer at his home in Steilacoom, Wash., with his wife and his puppies at his side on Monday, July 29, 2002.
He was born on May 16, 1932, in Fostoria, Ohio; and is survived by his wife, Carol A. Thomas; his son, Jonathon Thomas of Tiffin; six step-sons, Larry, Richard, Robert, Donald, Michael and James Fillhart; many grandchildren; two brothers, Dave and Albert; a sister, Bertha Rowe of Fostoria; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Humes of Green Springs; and special niece and nephew, Ronald and Bonnie Thomas of Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by wife Carol J. Thomas; a son, James Thomas Jr.; and a daughter, Kathryn Reichenbach.
He was a life member of the American Legion in Fostoria and was an Eagle for many years. He was a charter member of Christs Church of Tiffin and the services will be there for James at 1 p.m. on Aug. 17. Burial will be in Bascom. Food will be served at the Sportsman's Hall in Fostoria following the service.
Mary Catherine Schroeder
Mary Catherine Schroeder, 80, formerly of 354 W. Fremont St., Fostoria, died at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in Winebrenner Village, Findlay.
She was born July 5, 1922, in Fostoria, to John and Mary (Parsh) Droll. She married
Martin F. Schroeder July 5, 1952, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria; and he died Sept. 27, 1977.
Survivors include: a daughter, Christine Keagler of Oregon; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Florence Droll and Margaret Schetter both of Fostoria, and Emma Sprankle of Findlay
A Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Monday in the St. Wendelin Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where there will be a Christian wake service at 8:30 p.m.
Ruth Ann Wright
Ruth Ann "Annie" Wright, 78, of 1087 S. Poplar St., Fostoria, died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
She was born April 7, 1924, in Dayton. She married
Clyde L. "Red" Wright Aug. 25, 1950, in St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York City; and he died Dec. 20, 2000.
Survivors include: two sons, Richard Businger of Findlay, and James Wright of Fostoria; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia, with interment to follow.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.
Donna M. Youngston
Donna M. Youngston, 78, of 520 Glenview Dr., Fostoria, died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, in Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
She was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Fremont to John W. and Lalia (Kline) Lewis who are both deceased. She married
James B. Youngston, Sr. June 6, 1943, in Cleveland; and he survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, David Youngston of Columbia Station, and Bill Youngston of Spring, Texas; a daughter, Terrie Fry of Michigan City, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Lewis of Sandusky; a step-brother, John Post of Findlay; a sister, Anna Rose Nichols of Fostoria; and three step-sisters, Marge Green and Mary Roose both of Findlay, and Pat Crawfis of Lima.
Services and burial will be private.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.
Margaret B. Perry
Margaret B. Perry, 81, of Sandusky Co. Rd. 237, Vickery, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 27, 1921, in Fremont, to William and Catherine (Flahiff) Batesole. She married
James R. Perry April 22, 1944, in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Fremont; and he died Aug. 3, 1999.
Survivors include: seven sons, William of Chicago, James of Northville, Mich., Patrick of Gibsonburg, Michael of Lewis Center, Mark of Clyde, Douglas of Laingsburg, Mich., and David of Vickery; three daughters, Carol Barb of Johnstown, Martha Riesterer of Castalia, and Amy Perry of Ann Arbor, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Donald and Daniel Batesole of Fremont, Gerald Batesole of Sandusky, and James Batesole of Traverse City, Mich.; and four sisters, Rosalyn Miller of Erlin, Ruth Hawk and Elizabeth Stang both of Fremont, and Catherine Witter of Port Clinton.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde, with interment in Parkhurst cemetery, Clyde.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with Christian Wake Services at 8:30 p.m.
Ganelle K. Colatruglio
Ganelle K. Colatruglio, 77, of 457 N. Sandusky St., died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 17, 1924, in Fremont to Joseph Edward and Iva Irene (Thompson) Perry who are deceased. She married
Samuel F. Colatruglio and he died Oct. 12, 1994.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Scott (Gail L.) Phillips of Van Buren; two granddaughters, Mrs. Christopher (Gina) Lewis of Findlay, and Tamara Loy of Toledo; and a great-grandson, Zachary Lewis of Findlay.
Preceding her in death were a son, Samuel Colatruglio Jr. who died in 1964; and two sisters, Roma Perin and Lavonne Hathaway.
She worked for General Electric as a tier for 37 years retiring in 1984. She was of the Lutheran faith.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with the Rev. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care-Seneca County, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
James A. Frederick
James A. Frederick, 68, of North Main Street, Clyde, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in the Arbors of Clyde.
He was born July 11, 1934, in Sandusky, to the late Don and Helen (Light) Frederick. His wife, Patricia (Goetz) Frederick, whom he married
Aug. 15, 1964, survives in Clyde.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Greg (Debbie) Coleman of Zanesville; a son, Daniel Frederick of Weinsburg, Germany; two grandchildren and a step-grandchild.
A sister, Jane Bingman, also is deceased.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Interment will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Patricia A. Jones
Patricia A. Jones, 59, of Twp. Rd. 209, Alvada, died at 7:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at her home.
She was born Sept. 15, 1942, in Fostoria, to Everett and Theda (Parker) Baughman, who are deceased. She married
Daniel F. Jones Sr. Dec. 30, 1961, in Elkhart, Ind.; and he survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Jeffrey L. also of Alvada, James L. and Daniel F. Jr., both of Findlay; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with burial in Zion Bloom cemetery, Vanlue.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
