Victor A. 'Vic' Hoover

Victor A. "Vic" Hoover, 78, 134 W. Perry St., Tiffin, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

He was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Hopewell Township, Seneca County, to the late Lloyd and Jessie Bell (Kisabeth) Hoover. On Jan. 24, 1944, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, he married Joan M. Mergenthaler. She survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Charmayne Snyder of Tiffin; a brother, Cortland Hoover of Kenton; and a granddaughter, Aundrea S. Snyder of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Two sons, Allan L. and Thomas Victor; two brothers, Darl and Stanley Hoover; and three sisters, Doris Hemminger, Lucy Smith and Garnet Hammer, also are deceased.

A self-employed contractor and excavator, Mr. Hoover was a builder of homes and steel buildings. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to his family.

Richard Alden Bush

Richard Alden Bush, 85, of Sun City West, Ariz., formerly of Tiffin, died in his home on Tuesday, May 14, 2002.

Surviving include: his wife, Grace Fisher; two sons, Alden F. Bush of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dr. Richard H. Bush of Winchester, MA; a daughter, Dr. Mary T. Bush of Phoenix, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Bush was the former owner of Mohawk Supply Company until 1983.

Services will be held Saturday, May 18 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sun City West, Ariz. Funeral arrangements being handled by Camino Del Sol Funeral Home, 13738 Camino Del Sol, Sun City West, AZ. 85375, PH: (623) 584-6299.

Richard Bush

A Memorial Mass for Richard Bush of Sun City West, Ariz., former Tiffin resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary Catholic Church, 85 S. Sandusky St., Tiffin. A private graveside service will be Friday in St. Mary's cemetery. Mrs. Grace F. Bush will receive visitors one hour prior to the Mass Saturday in the church vestibule.

Linda Gail Fitzgerald

Linda Gail (Tyree) Fitzgerald, 38, 686 S. Sandusky St., Lot 116, Tiffin, died at 11:36 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2002, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

She was born June 2, 1963, in Tiffin, to Rabon and Doris (Dunn) Tyree. Her father is deceased. Her mother, now Doris Bluhm and stepfather, Bill Bluhm, survive in Tiffin. Her husband, David Fitzgerald, whom she married Dec. 7, 1981, in Tiffin, also survives.

Other survivors include: three children, Jennifer L., Rebecca L. and David E. II Fitzgerald, all of Tiffin; a brother, William Tyree and a sister, Virginia Drown, both of Bucyrus.

A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be private and there will be no visitation.

Lucinda 'Cindy' Coffman

Lucinda "Cindy" Coffman, 89, of Grand Rapids, Mich., died Thursday, May 16, 2002, in Grand Rapids.

She was born May 12, 1913, in Seneca County in New Riegel to Robert and Cecelia (Kroeckel) LaFountaine.

She married Perry Coffman in September 1909. He died Dec. 23, 1993.

Surviving are: two sons, Perry Jr. and Richard; and two sisters, Georgetta Hursey of Tiffin and Mrs. Robert (Marianna) Zoeller of New Riegel.

Seven brothers and four sisters are deceased.

Mrs. Coffman was a homemaker and salesperson for Herp Department Store in Grand Rapids. She had lived in Findlay for a period of years.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the Stegenga Roman Vanderpool Funeral Home in Wyoming, Mich. Burial will be on Monday.

Scott Allen Hoenshell

Scott Allen Hoenshell, 36, of 1096 S. Caldwell Ave., died at 5 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2002, at his residence.

He was born April 9, 1965, to Walter R. and Maxine E. (Lowery) Hoenshell. He never married .

Survivors include: his mother of Tiffin; four brothers, Larry of Folsom, Calif., Lonnie Roy of Kissimmee, Fla., Gary of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Keith Noel of Alvin, Texas; and three sisters, Sharon Webb of Tiffin, Karen Hooper of Kissimmee, Fla. and June Drew of Macco Island, Fla.

His father is deceased.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Richard J. Hensley

Richard J. Hensley, 78, of Dayton died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, in Columbus.

He was born March 25, 1924, in Huntington, W.V., to Audley Toby and Letha (Harless) Hensley.

Survivors include: four sons, Rick (Hensley) Burkshire, Marty, Michael and Stephen all of Dayton; two daughters, Casandra Kinder of Dayton and Rhonda Sue Wilson of Urbana; numerous grandchildren; and three sisters, Anne Ubri of Tiffin, Dorothy Wilson of Urbana and Doris Hubbs of Madison, Ind.

He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II.

There will be no service or visitation. Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Richard J. Hensley

Graveside service for Richard J. Hensley, 78, of Dayton, who died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary cemetery.

Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Linda Gail Fitzgerald

Linda Gail Fitzgerald, 38, of 686 S. Sandusky St., Lot 116, died at 11:36 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2002, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

She was born June 2, 1963, to Rabon and Doris (Dunn) Tyree in Tiffin. She married David Fitzgerald in Tiffin Dec. 7, 1981; and he survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include: his mother and stepfather, Bill Bluhm, of Tiffin; stepmother, Diana (Bowman) Tyree of Tiffin; a son, David E. Fitzgerald II of Tiffin; two daughters, Jennifer L. and Rebecca L. Fitzgerald of Tiffin; a brother, William Tyree of Bucyrus; three half-brothers, Scott Tyree, Jamie Tyree and Chad Tyree of Tiffin; and a sister, Virginia Drown of Upper Sandusky.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, at Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation is 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Monday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Debra Kirchner (see obit following this for alternate spelling)

Debra Kirchner, 47, of Austin, Texas, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at home.

She was born May 19, 1954, to Helen and Norley Thompson and raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

She married John Kirchner in 1979 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tiffin. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jason and Alex; a brother, Quinn Thompson of S.C.; and a sister Shirley Jolliffe of Washington.

A service will be in Austin, Texas; and another in Tiffin which is tentatively scheduled for June 15.

Debre A. Kirchner

A memorial gathering will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Upper Room at St. Joseph Activity Center for Debre A. Kirchner, 47, who died of cancer May 15, 2002, in Austin, Texas.

She was married June 16, 1979, in St. Joseph Church to John A. Kirchner, the son of John F. and Martha Kirchner of Tiffin.

Mrs. Kirchner's husband and sons, Alex and Jason, will be at the memorial gathering Saturday.

Scott Allen Hoenshell

Scott Allen Hoenshell, 36, 1096 S. Caldwell Ave., Tiffin, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2002, at his residence.

He was born April 9, 1965, in Tiffin to Walter R. and Maxine E. (Lowery) Hoenshell.

Survivors include: his mother, Maxine Hoenshell of Tiffin; four brothers, Larry "Lawrence" Hoenshell of Folsom, Calif.., Lonnie Roy Hoenshell of Kissimmee, Fla., Gary Hoenshell of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Keith Noel Hoenshell of Alvin, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Sharon (Donald) Webb of Tiffin, Mrs. Karen Hooper of Kissimmee, Fla., Mrs. June (Dan) Drew of Macco Island, Fla.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Lynn Hoenshell, and a sister, Angela Hoenshell.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home with Pastor James Michaels officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 - 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Lois Callaghan

Lois Callaghan, 78, of 65 Glenn St., Tiffin, died Friday, May 17, 2002, at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

She was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Urbana to Emmett and Isabel (Leonard) Sweetman. She married Robert L. Callaghan in Urbana Jan. 10, 1948. He survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include: two sons, Steve Callaghan and Ned Callaghan, and a daughter, Ann Callaghan, all of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Ann McCarthy of Urbana; five grandchildren, Christopher, Connor, Reilly, Kelsey and Collin Callaghan.

She was preceded in death by a son, Tom Callaghan.

Mrs. Callaghan was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to The Sanctuary House, P.O. Box 21141 Greensboro, NC 27420 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Alice Geneva Grieve

Alice Geneva Grieve, 86, of 53 Clay St., Tiffin, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born in Bascom on Oct. 19, 1915, to Virgil and Myrtle Mae (Heckert) Haugh. She married Alfred George Grieve in Bowling Green in 1930. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include: a son, Patrick Alfred Grieve of Tiffin; three daughters, Mrs. Donna Jean Rogers of Washington, Nancy Joan Stover and Alice Madeline Holt, both of Tiffin; a brother, Jack Haugh of Indiana; a sister, Madeline Sendelbach of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Visitation will be one hour before the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.

Kenneth William Miller

Kenneth William Miller, 61, of 235 W. Perry St., Green Springs, died Friday, May 17, 2002, at Fremont Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 20, 1940, to Virgil H. Sr. and Sylvia L. (Strausbaugh) Miller in Fayette County. He married Dorothy Fite in Fremont Feb. 19, 1972.

Survivors include: his wife; two sons, Kasey H. Miller of Green Springs and James A. Miller of Dennison; a daughter, Kristy S. Burdue of Sandusky; three brothers, Robert Miller and Virgil "Hank" Miller Jr., both of Fremont, and Donald Miller of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Ross of Green Springs; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Miller was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Engle-Young Funeral Home in Green Springs. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Kenneth William Miller

Military graveside services for Kenneth William Miller, 61 of 235 W. Perry St., Green Springs, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Green Springs cemetery. He died Friday, May 17, 2002, in Memorial Hospital. The Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Martha L. Veliquette

Martha Louise Veliquette, 86, of 621 W. Center St., Fostoria, died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born April 16, 1916, in Arcadia to George and Gertrude (Ruehle) Brookman.

She married Nelson D. Veliquette Aug. 12, 1934, in Bloomdale, Ohio. He died in 1970.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Jean (Edward) Williamson and Mary Louise Fouts, both of Fostoria; a brother, William Brookman of Fostoria; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, David Leroy Veliquette; two sisters, Ruth Gordon and Pearl Hampton.

Mrs. Veliquette was a homemaker and a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria and its Hope 60 Club.

She was also a member of Shepherd Center in Fostoria; AARP and served as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer for several years in Fostoria.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria with the Rev. Dr. Larry W. Knigga officiating. Burial will be in Arcadia cemetery, Arcadia.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria.

Memorials may be made to Hope Lutheran Church or to Ronald McDonald House of Toledo c/o the funeral home, P.O. Box 47, Fostoria, OH 44830.
