Judy K. Pierce
Judy K. Pierce, 58, of 5519 Twp. Hwy. 98, Carey, died at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2002, at her residence.
She was born March 3, 1944, in Mt. Blanchard to David B. Ealey and Ival M. Hackworth. She married
David L. Pierce in Grace United Methodist Church, Carey, April 25, 1970; and he survives.
Other survivors include: her mother of Carey; a son, D. Jason Pierce of Carey; a daughter, Holly E. Pierce of Upper Sandusky; three grandchildren; a brother, Roy F. Ealey of Findlay; and three sisters, Sue A. Ealey of Carey, Patricia J. Mowery of Forest, and Georgia E. Gottfried of Upper Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Betty J. Ealey.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with burial in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Robert L. Arnold
Robert L. Arnold, 55, of 4990 E. CR 34, Green Springs, Ohio, died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2002, at the St. Francis Health Care Centre in Green Springs.
He was born Sept. 2, 1946, in Jacksonville, Fla. He is survived by his wife Becky Arnold, whom he married
Feb. 3, 1968, at St. Andrews in Liberty Twp.
Other survivors include: one son, Steven Arnold; one daughter, Beverly Arnold; two grandchildren, Cody Arnold and Richard Arnold, all of Fremont, Ohio.
Mr. Arnold, a graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School Class of 1965 and was a 30-year resident of Green Springs. He worked at Whirlpool in Clyde as a tool and die maker. He was a member of the Clyde VFW, the Clyde Moose and the Green Springs American Legion.
Mr. Arnold served in the Air Force in Vietnam.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at the Engle-Young Funeral Home in Green Springs with Sister Anthony Maire Valdez officiating. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Francis Health Care Centre and F.A.C.T.
Judi L. (Ehrman) Gurney
Judi L. (Ehrman) Gurney, 58, of rural Attica, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, March 10, 2002, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. She was born Jan. 6, 1944, in Willard, Ohio, to the late P. Forrest and Elizabeth (Brindle) Ehrman.
Mrs. Gurney was a graduate of Willard High School Class of 1962 and worked at the DairyMaid in Attica for 21 years. She was a member of Union Pisgah United Methodist Church, Lazy Aces Saddle Club and the former Huron County Ladies Sheriff Posses.
Mrs. Gurney is survived by her husband: Dennis L. Gurney, whom she married
Jan. 26, 1963; two sons: Dusty Gurney, David Gurney and his wife Missy of Attica; three grandchildren: Maggie, Forrest and Emma Gurney, all of Attica; one brother: George F. Ehrman of Willard; and two sisters: Mrs. James (Mary Ann) Claus and Mrs. John (Kathy Sue) Woodyard, both of Willard. She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert A. Ehrman.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 1295 W. Tiffin St., Attica, with the Rev. Stephen Holliday officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery, Willard.
Friends may call Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

John Stanley Good
John Stanley Good, 49, of East TR 178, Bellevue, died at home, Sunday, March 10, 2002. He was born in Bellevue, Jan. 15, 1953, to Robert S. and Ellen (Walters) Good. He married
Suzanne B. (Henney) Good on Nov. 16, 1973.
Surviving are his wife; mother; three sons, Brian S. Good, Bradley R. Good and Brandon M. Good, all of Bellevue; three sisters, Mrs. Alan (Beverly) Vicstein of Muncie, Ind., Mrs. William (Sue) Dendinger of Bellevue and Mrs. Ken (Julie) Flesher of Milan.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Zion United Church of Christ, Fireside. Burial will be in Fireside cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue.
Samuel A. Brown
Samuel A. Brown, 23, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, in Findlay. He was born March 19, 1978 to his birth father Allen Brown of Carey.
Brown was killed in an auto accident near Fostoria.
Surviving are: his parents, Kevin and Linda Crum of Republic; a fiancee, Jennifer L. Franks; a daughter, Rileigh Paige Brown of Findlay; two step-children, Ivy Henderson and Violet Henderson of Findlay; three brothers, Todd Brown and Paul Brown, both of Bettsville, and Ryan Brown of Republic; a sister, Leane Brown of Risingsun; paternal grandparents, Frank and Joan Thompson of Carey; maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Paul Hoerig of Tiffin; many aunts and uncles; and three nephews.
Mr. Brown was a graduate of Bettsville High School, Class of 1996, and was employed at the Findlex Corp., in Findlay.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday, March 14, 2002 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin with the Rev. Frank Murd officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin.
Virginia A. Thom
Virginia A. Thom, 78, 1918 N. SR 53, Tiffin, Ohio, died Monday March 11, 2002, in St. Francis Home.
She was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Seneca County, to the late Alexander and Bertha (Niederkohr) Clouse. On May 11, 1943, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married
Lewis Thom. He died Oct. 19, 1950.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Jake (Pat) Moyer, Mrs. Fred (Kay) Zirger and Mrs. Dale (Mary) Bentz, all of Tiffin and Mrs. Ed (Janet) Zucker of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two brothers, Donald and Luke Clouse, both of Tiffin; a sister, Imelda Dininger of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a step great-grandchild.
A brother, Wilfred Clouse, a sister, Florence Arbogast and a grandson, Mark Zirger, also are deceased.
A clerk for Myers Drug and Lane Drug Stores, Mrs. Thom also worked as a greeter for Kroger Store. She was a lay distributor and member of St. Mary Church and its Welcoming Committee. Other memberships included: Daughters of Isabella, Our Lady of Fatima Mother's Club, Auxiliary Board of St. Francis and the CK of O. She also served as a volunteer for Mercy Hospital, St. Francis Home, Autumnwood Care Center and Clinton Elementary School.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday March 14, at St. Mary Catholic Church with con-celebrants the Rev. Frank A. Murd and the Rev. Richard Dunn. The rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake service will be at 8:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, St. Francis Auxiliary Board or a charity of the donor's choice.
Robert E. Hornett
Robert E. Hornett, 80, of rural Attica died at 5:28 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2002, at Willard Health Care Center. He was born July 30, 1921 in Attica to the late Andrew and Ethel (Wolford) Hornett.
Mr. Hornett was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and was a machinist for the B&O Railroad, retiring in 1983 after 43 years. He was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Attica, Attica K of C, Life member of the Attica American Legion and the Bellevue VFW.
Mr. Hornett is survived by: his wife, Ruth (Wolf) Hornett, whom he married
Feb. 28, 1942; a son: Robert K. Hornett and his wife Marilyn of Attica; a daughter: Susan Shade and her husband Leroy of Attica; four grandchildren, Leisa Allgyre of Attica, Kim Biddle of Helena, Mark Shade of the U.S. Navy, Virginia Beach, and Michelle Hoepf of Republic; two sisters: Helen Austin of Willard and Geraldine Durfey of Huron; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Flood.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2002, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Joseph P. Szybka officiating. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery, Attica, with military rites being conducted by the Attica American Legion and the Bellevue VFW. Thomas O. Martin
Thomas O. Martin, 65, died at his residence, 813 E. High St., Fostoria, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 10, 2002.
He was born Oct. 25, 1936, to the late Edwin and Donelda (Voight) Martin.
Survivors include: a companion, Betty A. Kuhn of Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. David (Jolynne) Doster of Fostoria and Vonda Martin of Wakefield, Va.; a brother, Dwight Martin; and two grandsons.
Mr. Martin was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1956 to 1958.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery with military graveside rites by the United Veterans of Fostoria.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Miriam C. 'Mickey' Harden
Miriam C. "Mickey" Harden, 80, died 2:20 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
She was born July 29, 1921 in Bascom to Harry and Florence (McHaffie) Sager.
Survivors include: a son, James Harden of St. Pete Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Jeanette Beamer of Port Clinton; a brother, Harry Sager of Fostoria; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Sand Ridge cemetery in Bascom.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Betty A. Schuster
Betty A. Schuster, 70, of 303 Monroe St., Bettsville, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at The Toledo Hospital. She was born July 17, 1932 to the late Roy and Jennie (Crouse) Pierce. She married
Donald Schuster March 12, 1966 in Wayne. Mr. Schuster survives at their residence.
She was preceded in death by a daughter.
Other survivors include: a brother, Roy Pierce of Tiffin; and four nephews and two nieces.
Mrs. Schuster was a graduate of Tiffin Columbian, Class of 1950 and retired from Ohio Bell, where she worked as an telephone operator in Tiffin for 30 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneer and Good Sam Club.
Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home with the Rev. John D. Teeters officiating.
Visitation hours are 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday at the funeral home.

Leona VanBuren
Leona VanBuren, 92, formerly of 145 Hampden Park, Tiffin, died 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002 at St. Francis Care Center, Tiffin. She was born Jan. 15, 1910 to the late Lemuel and Bertha (Smith) Huston in Vanlue.
Mrs. VanBuren is survived by a son, Dr. Max VanBuren of Lisbon; a daughter, Dixie Allen of Encinitas, Cal.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Huston, and a grandson, Matthew VanBuren.
Mrs. VanBuren was a graduate of Findlay College and a 53-year resident of Tiffin, where she was a teacher in the Tiffin City Schools. She was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church, She also was a member and past president of the following: American Association of University Women; St. Paul's Daughters; United Methodist Women; Tiffin Women's Club; and Eastern Star. She was a Betty Jane volunteer and director of the Junior Choir for many years at her church, where she served as delegate to the Annual Conference for 12 years.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gail Angel officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery in Findlay.
Visitation will be Thursday 4-7 at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Methodist Church.
Dorothy H. Gamertsfelder
Dorothy H. Gamertsfelder, 89, of Park Avenue in Fostoria, died at 8 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002, at Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.
She was born Nov. 1, 1912 in Fostoria to Amos and Rosa (Arras) Warrington. She married
Arthur Gamertsfelder on May 7, 1933 in Fostoria. Mr. Garmertsfelder is deceased.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Sally) McDonald of Tiffin; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. at the Harrold-Florianna Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday 7-9 and Saturday one prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ozie Mae (Rose) Boles
Ozie Mae (Rose) Boles, 82, of 5519 Edmonds Rd., Bellevue, died Monday, March 11, 2002 at the Bellevue Hospital.
She was born Nov. 21, 1919 to Dee and Louvinie (Dabbs) Rose. She married
Cellus Boles Feb. 2, 1940 in Decatur, Ala. He survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Charles Boles of Bellevue, Larry Boles of Hollywood, Fla. and Reggie Boles of Republic; two sisters, Mary Pratt of Nashville, Tenn. and Trudie Raney of Rogersville, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Foos and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde.
Visitation hours are from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Catherine J. Parkhurst
Catherine J. Parkhurst, 94, of Sandusky CR 247, Vickery, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at Arbors of Clyde.
She was born July 7, 1907, to Alfred and Clara (Neill) Meggitt. She married
Clifford J. Parkhurst Nov. 15, 1935. He is deceased.
Survivors include: a son, John Parkurst of Vickery; and two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Carol) Petenzi of Clyde and Mrs. Harold (June) Riedy of Vickery.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Burial will be in Parkhurst cemetery.
