John Carl Raypole
John "Jack" Carl Raypole, 74, of East Buckeye Street, Clyde, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at the Arbors of Clyde. He was born Jan. 23, 1928, in Fremont, to the late Karl and Bertha (Henry) Raypole. He married
Mary Jane Carter Aug. 1951, and she died Sept. 9, 1967, then married
Vadie Blankenship June 1977, and she survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Karl Lee Raypole of Green Springs and John Dennis Raypole of Clyde; three daughters, Deborah Eileen Walker, Lori Ann Raypole, and Mary Elizabeth Villerreal, all of Fremont; four step-sons, Terry, Larry, Perry and Jerry Blankenship; four step-daughters, Velma Pesnell, Debbie Wieczorek, Bernadette Blankenship and Brenda Marshall; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Raypole was an Air Force veteran who served during World War II.
Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde with Rev. Gene Paul officiating. Military graveside will be provided by Clyde VFW and American Legion. Interment will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.
Visitation is 11 a.m.- 1p.m. Thursday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.
Weldon G. Rettig Jr.
Weldon G. "Pete" Rettig Jr., 65, of Vine Street, Clyde, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, in the Medical College of Ohio. He was born in New Washington, July 12, 1936, to the late Weldon G. and Dessabelle (Schindler) Rettig Sr. He married
Peggy Markins Aug. 9, 1959, and she survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, James Rettig of Toledo and Jefferson M. Rettig of Bellevue; brother, Roger "Butch" Rettig of Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Friday at Auxter- Mitchell Funeral Home, Clyde.
Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Auxter-Mitchell Funeral Home.
Laura J. Munger
Laura J. Munger, 71, of 18923 Roanoke Dr., Bowling Green, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at her residence. She was born in Fostoria, Oct. 6, 1930, to the late Aurelius and Weltha (Shanks) Bowman. She married
Carl "Dewey" Munger Oct. 1, 1950, and he died March 16, 1997.
She is survived by: three daughters, Mrs. Mike (Diane) Aurand of Wayne, Mrs. Daniel (Deborah) Dawley of Bowling Green and Cheryl S. Fasula of Katy, Texas; two brothers, William Bowman of Findlay and Raymond Bowman of Fostoria; four sisters, Imogene Seevers of Bluffton, Ruth Graves of Ormond Beach, Fla., Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Leonard of Findlay and Anna Mae Leathers of Sun City, Fla.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home with Rev. John P. Schultes officiating. Interment will be in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.
Lawrence 'Jack' Dunlap
Lawrence M. 'Jack' Dunlap, 84, of Yelm, Wash., died Monday Jan. 21, 2002, in McKenney, Wash.
He was born April 30, 1917, in Seneca County to Albert and Weltha (Jackson) Dunlap. On Dec. 24, 1939, in Fort Seneca, he married
Frances V. Maddox. She is deceased.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sharon L. Averill of Shelton, Wash., and Charlotte L. Gregory of Sequim, Wash.; a sister, Virginia Simon of Fort Seneca; two brothers James of Buffalo, Wyo., and Joseph of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were three brothers, Don, LeRoy and Albert.
Jack retired from the Basic Inc. and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday Jan. 25 at Fir Lane Funeral Chapel, Spanaway, Wash.
John B. 'Jack' Gobs Sr.
John B. "Jack" Gobs Sr., 72, of 5096 TR 11, Sycamore, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky. He was born in Bethlehem, Pa., Aug. 21, 1929, to the late John R. and Mary P. (Bigelow) Gobs. He married
Shirley L. Yates Nov. 11, 1949, and she survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, John B. Gobs Jr. of Sycamore, Gordon W. Gobs of Drum, Pa., and Michael D. Gobs of Sycamore; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Chris) Trott of Republic and Karen Reed of New Riegel; two brothers, Greg Gobs and Clay Gobs, both of Bethlehem, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Janice Roman of Bethlehem, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Jason Gobs, Amy Sigler, Angie Reiter, Ron Trott Jr., Jeremy Reed, Janelle Reed and Jackie, Roxanne, Mia Gobs; three great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Gobs, Paige and Alec Sigler. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Gobs, and a granddaughter, Melodie Trott.
Mr. Gobs retired after 39 years as the Health and Safety coordinator at Honeywell (formerly Autolite) in Fostoria. He was a member of Local 533 U.A.W., Fostoria, where he served as the president for 17 years. He was also a member of Sycamore American Legion Post 250 and Tiffin Moose Lodge 846.
Private graveside services will be at a later date.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 Saturday at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County.
Harry Hopkinson
Harry Hopkinson, 99, of Bradner, died at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. He was born in Barnsley, England, April 16, 1902, to the late George and Suzannah (Askam) Hopkinson. He married
Wilma J. Gossard Nov. 25, 1945, in Tiffin. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Gary Hopkinson of Fostoria; a daughter, Judy Roth of Bradner; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hopkinson was a World War II veteran with the Navy Seabees.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barndt Funeral Home with the Rev. Nelson Weiker officiating. Interment will be in Bradner cemetery, Bradner.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday at Barndt Funeral Home, Bradner.
Maxine M. Goodwin
Maxine M. Goodwin, 83, of West Lytle Street, Fostoria, died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30. 2002, at her home. She was born in Aberdeen, S.D., May 24, 1918, to the late Hazel Shaffer. She married
Donald R. Goodwin Sr. May 28, 1936, in Elwood, Ind. He is deceased.
Survivors include: a son, the Rev. Donald R. Goodwin Jr. of Fostoria; two daughters, Phyllis Bates of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Jacqueline S. States of Punta Gorda, Fla.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Gibson officiating.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.
Merton E. Overmyer
Merton E. "Mert" Overmyer, 77, of Tucker Road, Fremont, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, in Fremont Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lindsey Sept. 12, 1924, to the late Hardy and Myrtle (Myers) Overmyer. He married
Ruth I. Reed Nov. 23, 1943, in Burgoon. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Howard C. Overmyer of Fremont; two daughters, Irene Craver and Polly Overmyer, both of Fremont; two brothers, Calvin Overmyer of Tiffin and Royce Overmyer of Green Springs; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lindsey cemetery, Lindsey.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 today at Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont.
Gavin Allen Berrier
Gavin Allen Berrier died one hour after he was born, Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in the Fostoria Community Hospital. He is survived by his parents, Brent A. and Pamela J. (Baker) Berrier of Fostoria.
Other survivors include: paternal grandparents, Jack and Vickie Berrier of Bascom; maternal grandparents, Evelyn Jones of Fostoria and Gary Baker of Bowling Green; paternal great-grandmother, Joan Shetterly of Tiffin; maternal great-grandparents, Blanche Burkert of Findlay, Matt and Joyce Baker of Speedwell, Tenn.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sandridge cemetery, Bascom, with Dr. Larry Knigga officiating.
Services are being handled by Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.
H.E. Sizemore
H.E. Sizemore, 90, formerly of 593 S. Patterson St., Carey, died at 4:07 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. He was born in Greenup, Ky., March 21, 1911, to the late D.V. and Ida (Cox) Sizemore. He married
Mary A. Wright Dec. 28, 1929, in Greenup, Ky. She died April 5, 2000.
Survivors include: a son, Carl Sizemore of Carey; five daughters, Charlene Fuller of Findlay, Betty Bland of Carey, June Schwemley of Upper Sandusky, Janet Toland of Columbus and Carol Cole of Findlay; two sisters, Lois Larick of Upper Sandusky and Hazel Virgin of Flatwoods, Ky.; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home with the Rev. Durward Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
Eva Mae Wheeler
Eva Mae Wheeler, 86 years old, 141 Fourth Ave., Tiffin, Ohio, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday Jan. 31, 2002, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 16, 1915, in Plant City, Fla., to the late Samuel and Ollie (Wilson) Collins. In 1934, she married
Walter Hillman. He died in 1935. In 1949, she married
Jarvis Wheeler. He died in 1969.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. M.J. (Joanne) Ranker of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Michael J. Ranker of Fremont, Ohio, Cynthia Distel of Tiffin and Becky Huth of Walton, Ky.; three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
A 1933 graduate of Plant City, Fla. High School, Mrs. Wheeler retired as a clerk from San Mar Pharmacy. She was a member of First Christian Church and the Allen Eiry Senior Center.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday Feb. 2, in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alonzo Wise officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday Feb. 2 at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio (419) 447-3113.

Garrett Allen Berrier

Xander Phillip Lee Mault
Xander Phillip Lee Mault, died on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002 at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin. His parents, Joshua and Gayle Y. (Stevens) Mault survive in Tiffin.
Surviving include: grandparents, Ronald and Debbie Stevens of Republic, John Mault of Fostoria, and Kim Mault of Port Charlotte, Fla.; great grandparents, Francis and Helen Robel of Marblehead, OH., Leroy and Kathryn Mault of Westerville, and Robert and Barbara Householder of Port Charlotte, Fla.; great-great grandparents, Theresa Bodine of Marblehead, and Jessie Householder of West Palm Beach, Fla.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m., today, Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 at St. Mary Catholic cemetery. The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Richard H. Chadwick Sr.
Richard H. Chadwick Sr., 84, 81 Warren St., Tiffin, Ohio, died Friday Feb. 1, 2002, in Northwestern Center TransHealthcare, Berea, Ohio.
He was born Oct. 9, 1917, in Tiffin, to the late Harry and Esther (Letterhos) Chadwick. On Sept. 27, 1941, in Wyandotte, Mich., he married
Aleta Mae Hunker, who survives
Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Diane) Keller of Berea; a son, Richard Chadwick Jr. of Millersburg, Ohio; two grandchildren, Andrew Keller of Brunswick, Ohio and Richard Keller of Berea.
A brother, James Chadwick and three sisters, Ruth Karlene, Hildagard Hodulik and Marie Chadwick, also are deceased.
Mr. Chadwick, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, was employed as a plumber from 1947 to 1981 when he retired. He worked for Plumbers Local 50. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Post 169, AmVets Post 48, V.F.W. Post 2858 and Knights of Columbus, where he was a life member.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday Feb. 4 in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, with the Rev. James K. Say officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday until time of the service at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Francis Home or a charity of the donor's choice.
Ruth Catherine Adams
Ruth Catherine Adams, 97, formerly of 415 Kilbourne St., Bellevue, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky.
She was born Oct. 5, 1904, in Bellevue to John and Jennie Hirsher. She married
Robert T. Adams in 1930 and he died in 1954.
Survivors include: a son, Robert G. Adams of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Bellevue cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sunday in the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue.
John Beasley
John Beasley, 31, of Portz Avenue, Findlay, died at 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at his home. He was born March 9, 1970, in Tiffin to John and Linda (Beaver) Beasley. He married
Angel L. Vining July 11, 1998, in West Milgrove, and she survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Logan and Alex Beasley, both of Findlay; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Malinda) Lemley of North Baltimore.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. Sterling Beasley officiating. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.
Lenny L. Latham
Word has been received of the death of Lenny L. Latham of Toledo on January 27, 2002.
He was born in Findlay on April 27, 1976. His father, Gary Latham resides in Tiffin.
Wilbur E. Ferrall
Wilbur E. Ferrall, 90, of Tiffin will have a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Burial will be at the Parish cemetery. The United Veterans Council will perform graveside rites.
Visitation hours are from 9 a.m. until the time of the services at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home in Tiffin.
