Ardith F. Keller
(1935 - 2004)
FAYETTE - Ardith Keller, 68, of Fayette, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, at Flower Hospital, Sylvania.
Born Oct. 2, 1935, at Morenci, Mich., to Ruth (Kutzley) Keller, she married Red Keller on July 23, 1983, at Fayette, and he survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Chris (Ellen) Keefer of Waldron and Mrs. David (Ann) Wheller of Fayette; a son, David (and wife, Judy) Keller of Stryker; a sister, Mrs. Leonard (Ailene) Morr of Fayette; a niece, Mrs. Kenny (Jeane) Herrington of Stryker; eight grandchildren; and two great-nieces.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, and a brother.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in the Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.
Memorials may be made to Gorham-Fayette Fire and Rescue.
Jack Thorp Keifer

DELTA - Jack Thorp Keifer, infant son of Montpelier native Dorinda Jean (Thorp) and Jerry Lee Keifer, who reside in Delta, was stillborn Friday morning, Sept. 3, 2004, at Toledo ChildrenÕs Hospital, Toledo.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Kennedi Jean Keifer; maternal grandparents, Roger and Tamara Thorp of Montpelier; paternal grandmother, JoAnne Keifer of Delta; and maternal great-grandparents, Bonnie Stahl and Lavon Thorp, both of Montpelier.
Preceding him in death were paternal grandfather, Gerald Keifer; maternal great-grandparents, James B. Stahl and Jeannette Thorp; and paternal great-grandparents, Walter and Pauline Yunginger and Arley and Frances Keifer.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier, with the Rev. David Tilly to officiate. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Toledo Children's Hospital.
Arrangements are by Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Robin C. Cartwright
(1987 - 2004)
ARCHBOLD - Robin C. Cartwright, 17, of Archbold, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, as the result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident near Wauseon.
Born March 24, 1987, at Toledo, she was the daughter of Hope Wallace of Defiance and Wes Cartwright of Archbold.
A senior at Archbold High School, she also worked at Carol Ann's City Cafe in Archbold.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Jacqueline Cartwright of Stryker and Erin Cartwright of Archbold; her grandmother, Carol Cartwright of Lubbock, Texas ; and grandparents, Clyde and Irene Wallace of Defiance.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Elise W. Cartwright; her grandmother, Clara Wallace; and grandfather, Paul Cartwright.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at St. Martin's Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Archbold with the Rev. Thomas Lyberg and the Rev. Dr. Gary Hodges to officiate.
Memorials may be made to Youth For Christ.

Harley Kennedy Bricker
Harley Bricker, 87, of Bryan, died Monday morning, Sept. 6, 2004, at Hillside Country Living's Anna House near Bryan.
A member of Grace Episcopal Church in Defiance and a former member of the Bryan Rotary Club, he married Marlynn J. Hazzard of Ionia, Mich. on April 2, 1937 at Angola, Ind. and she preceded him in death on July 4, 1994.
A chemical engineering graduate of Michigan State University in 1939, he had operated a growing electroplating business since 1950. Following his graduation from Michigan State, he was a research chemist for the McGean Chemical Co. of Cleveland for two years. He became head of the metallurgical department of Ryerson Noyes in Jackson, Mich. in 1942 and moved to the metallurgical department of Willys Overland, Toledo, in 1945. During this time, he developed metallurgical processes improving production capabilities for the war effort, such as softening metals for machining speed and hardening metals after machining.
He joined the Napoleon Plating Company in 1947 and a year later opened his own laboratory in Napoleon to do special research in plating. This led to a connection with the Nameplate & Monogram Company, Spencerville, in 1949, as head of all plating operations. In addition, he did consultant work for a number of firms including Ohio Decorative, of Spencerville; Airway Corp., of Toledo; and Lectrolite of Defiance.
He opened a metal finishing company in Defiance in 1950. This business was destroyed by fire and operations moved to Bryan in 1957. This business continues at this location on East Edgerton St. Surviving are six children, Mrs. Richard (Becky) Kocerha of Jacksonville, Fla., Robert (and wife, Judy) Bricker of Winter Park, Fla., Jon Bricker of Fort Wayne, Ind., James (Kathy) Bricker of Fort Mill, S.C., Harley Bricker Jr. of Lakeland, Fla. and Timothy (Martha) Bricker of Bryan; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his stepbrothers, Harold J. Bricker, Max V. Bricker and Louis D. Bricker.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. A memorial will be placed at Balcom Cemetery on the Bricker lot in Ionia, Mich.
Burr Funeral Home & Crematory will be handling the arrangements for the family.
Velma L. Anders
(1920 - 2004)
MONTPELIER - Velma L. Anders, 84, of Montpelier, died Saturday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2004, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier, following a lingering illness.
Born June 28, 1920, near Britton, Mich., to Helen (Gottschalk) and Paul Otto Marten, she married Paul J. Anders on Nov. 4, 1939, and he survives.
A Montpelier resident since 1948, she was a homemaker. She had retired in 1980 after 31 years as a floral designer with both Kindler's Flowers and Rozells Flower Shop in Montpelier.
A member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Montpelier, she had been an active volunteer for her church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Allen (Angie) Cryer of Montpelier and Mrs. Rick (Lois) Baughman of Montpelier; four granddaughters, Mrs. Tom (Lynne) Schaedler of Camden, Mich., Mrs. Dean (Lisa) Gericke of Brighton, Mich., Mrs. Todd (Stephanie) Friend of Montpelier, and Mrs. A.J. (Melissa) Saneholtz of Montpelier; four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Schaedler and Mara and Kyle Gericke; and a great-great-grandson, Brock Schaedler.
She was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, and a granddaughter, Jenny Baughman. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Marlene L. LaChat to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of St. Paul's United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio.
Doris E. Meyer
(1922 - 2004)
JEWELL - Doris E. Meyer, 82, of Jewell, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold.
Born July 13, 1922, at Defiance County, to Sophia M. Wichman and Deitrick "Dick" Helmke, she married Eldor H. Meyer in 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1971.The assistant deputy clerk at the Defiance County Recorder's office for over 17 years, she was also the assistant postmaster at Jewell for over 20 years. A member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, she was a member of the Ladies Aid Association, LWML and the Jewell American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons, Richard (and wife, Debbie) Meyer of Albuquerque, N.M.and Michael (Denise) Meyer of Stryker; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Karen) Fausey Jr. of Wauseon, Mrs. Jim (Nancy) Duke of Alachua, Fla. and Mrs. Charles (Marsha) Wonderly of Sherwood; a brother, Fred H. Helmke of Jewell; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Henry and Rudolph Helmke; and a sister, Ruth Shibler.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and7-9 p.m. in the Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance, and Friday from 10-11a.m. in the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Florida, Ohio.
Funeral services will beheld Friday at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Douglas Corniels to officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance County. Memorials may be made toSt. Peter Lutheran Church. Mast-Mock-HoffmanFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.
