Pauline M. Burkett

Pauline M. Burkett, 80, of 124 Douglas St., died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, in her home.

She was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Tiffin to Peter and Mary (Cooper) Bintz. Her first marriage was to Robert Warrington and he is deceased. She then married Melvin J. Burkett and he died July 9, 1986.

Survivors include: two sons, Randy Warrington of Fort Scott, Kan., and Larry Warrington of London, Ohio; two stepchildren, Dennis Burkett and Martina Burkett, both of Fostoria; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nadine Brookman of Fostoria.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with burial in Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Florence M. Creager

Florence M. Creager, 91, of Port Clinton, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Riverview Senior Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born April 5, 1910, in Tiffin to Henry and Amelia (Klingshirn) Straub. She married Oscar Creager, who preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1972.

Survivors include: a son, William of Wakefield; four brothers, Robert of Bettsville, Henry and Lloyd of Tiffin, and Clarence of McCutchenville; and five sisters, Helen Santos, Dorothy Lake and Bernice Payne, all of Tiffin, and Marie Kiser of Bettsville, and Rose Mary Huff of Fostoria.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. Interment will follow in Farewell Retreat cemetery, Republic.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are by the Gerner-Wolf-Brossia-Marsh Funeral Home, Port Clinton.

Irene Kinney

Irene Kinney, 70, of US 224, Fostoria, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Winebrenner Village, Findlay.

She was born on July 10, 1931, in Delbarton, W.Va., to the late Conley and Mae (Blevins) Farmer. She married Melvin Kinney on July 16, 1959, in Columbus and he survives.

Other survivors include: son, Conley T. Kinney of Fostoria; two brothers, Charles Farmer of Ravenswood, W.Va., and Robert Farmer of Columbus; sister, Ruth Trosky of Cummin, Ga.; and two grandsons.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. Alonzo Wise officiating. Interment will be in Union cemetery, West Independence.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Edith (Meister) Brown

Edith (Meister) Brown, 87, formerly of 880 N. Loudon TR 47, Fostoria, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, in Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria. She was born on March 21, 1914, in Petoskey, Mich., to the late Justin F. and Elizabeth S. (Steffel) Meister. She married Clifford Crick, and he is deceased, then married Edwin Merritt Brown, and he died June 26, 1998.

Survivors include: two sons, Albert Brian Brown of Waterville and Bryce Justin Brown of North Lewisburg; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Brenda) Goshe of Fostoria and Mrs. James (Laura Elizabeth) Gorrill Jr. of Southfield, Mich.; a brother, Edward Meister of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. William (Alice) Miller of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Brown and Ruth Lustig.

Mrs Brown retired as a 30-year business woman who owned and operated the "Sundown Motel" in Petoskey and also worked with Penn-Dixie Cement Co. She was a partner with her husband, Edwin Brown, in the Merchants Credit Bureau, Fostoria.

She and her husband Edwin co-founded the Toastmasters in Fostoria. Mrs. Brown was also a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and an honorary life member of the Fostoria's Woman's Club where she held many offices. She graduated from Petoskey High School in 1931.

Rosary will be prayed 10 a.m. Thursday followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, with Father Mark Bowers officiating. Interment will be in St. Francis Parish cemetery, Petoskey, Mich.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to: St. Wendelin Schools Educational Foundation or the Fostoria Woman's Club Scholarship Fund.

Wilbur E. Ferrall

Wilbur E. Ferrall, 90, formerly of 14 Duchess Lane, Tiffin, died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin. He was born on March 7, 1911, in Tiffin to the late Edmund and Bernice (Kraft) Ferrall. He married Marcella Daniel on Oct. 5, 1935, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, and she died Nov. 28, 2000.

Survivors include: two daughters, Joyce Peck of Bascom and Mrs. Fred (Jane) Sweeney of Sylvania; 11 grandchildren, Robert McCormack, Mary Miccichi, Brian McCormack, Brad McCormack, Eric McCormack, Michael Goetz, Susan Markel, Amy Streipes, Christopher Sweeney and Timothy Sweeney; two step-grandchildren, Mark Peck and Tim Peck; 12 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Preceding him in death were: three brothers, George, Robert and Frank Ferrall and a daughter, Ann Goetz.

Mr. Ferrall was self-employed as a sheet metal contractor and heating/air conditioning technician. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin; American Legion Post 169, Tiffin; and a 1930 Columbian High School graduate. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time visiting with friends at Wyme's Restaurant and was an Ohio State fan.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Thomas Ankenbrandt officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph cemetery with military rites performed by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Saturday until the funeral mass at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, Tiffin.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Community Hospice Care or donor's choice, in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

David Baker

David Baker, 60, formerly of 1 Barcelona Dr., Fostoria, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria. He was born Oct. 4, 1941, to the late Jesse and Mae (Ward) Baker.

Survivors include: two sisters, Dorothy M. Baker and Ethel J. Johnson, of Fostoria; two nieces and a grand-nephew.

Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Paul Moore officiating. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Lyle Louisa Ebersole

Lyle Louisa Ebersole, 90, formerly of 7769 Main St., Flat Rock, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, in the Arbors at Clyde after a lengthy illness. She was born June 3, 1911, in Huron County to the late William and Julia (Walsh) Addis. She married Earl Moyer Ebersole April 18, 1933, in Bellevue, and he is deceased.

Survivors include: a son, Evan E. (Sharon) Ebersole of Republic; three daughters, Enid (Mrs. Elmer) Martin of Bellevue, Dawn (Mrs. Paul) Drewes of Thornville, and Gail (Mrs. Robert C.) Weller of Flat Rock; two sisters, Beatrice Fenderbosch of Olmstead Falls and Kathleen (Mrs. John L.) Grubb of Flat Rock; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Flat Rock, with the Rev. Bruce Kent officiating. Interment will be in Flat Rock cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Eugene R. Bailey

Eugene R. Bailey, 78, died at 1:13 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Care Center, Bluffton Campus, Bluffton. He was born May 18, 1923, near Ottoville, to the late Samuel and Lora (Bartz) Bailey. He married Lois V. Risser March 27, 1942, and she survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Edward S. Bailey of Delphos; two daughters, Donna J. (Doyle) Myers of Attica and Debra R. (David) Bonnell of Columbus Grove; a brother, Ralph (Janet) Bailey of Middlepoint; a brother-in-law, Harley Arn of Concho, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, with the Rev. Dan Hague officiating. Interment will be in Truro cemetery, Columbus Grove.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Hartman Sons Funeral Home.

Janice J. Tolford

Janice J. Tolford, 62, of 1326 A Lakeshore Dr., Columbus, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at her home. She married George K. Tolford in 1964, and he now lives in Tiffin.

Survivors include: two daughters, Tracey (Douglas) Kagy and Ann K. ( Ty) Gates, both of Lewis Center; two grandsons, George and Ethan Gates.

Memorial services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 E. Broad St., Columbus with Rev. Richard Burnett officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

Vera W. Turner

Vera W. Turner, 91, formerly of 310 Ash St., Carey, died at 6:34 p.m. Thurday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Wyandot County Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky. She was born Oct. 15, 1910, in Carey to the late Grover and Gertrude (Williams) Hile. She married Howard Turner Nov. 20, 1937, and he died Aug. 12, 1995.

She is survived by a step-sister, Marhta Ellen (Hile) Reinhart of Inverness, Fla.

Services were conducted Monday, Jan. 28, at Beach Funeral Home, Carey and interment in the Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Jessie L. Few

Jessie L. Few, 85, of 111 Salem St., Risingsun, died at 3:50 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at The Heritage, Findlay. She was born March 13, 1916, in Bowling Green, to the late Jesse and Laura (Naugle) Younkin. She married David W. Few May 24, 1936, in Auburn, Ind., and he is deceased.

Survivors include: three daughters, Darlene Few of Columbus, Judy Lamberjack of Findlay and Mrs. Marvin (Marilyn) Stinehart of Fostoria; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Prichard officiating. Interment will be in Scott Trinity cemetery, Risingsun.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Donald C. Edinger Sr.

Donald C. Edinger Sr., 74, of 436 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, died at 12:35 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, in Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1927, to the late Ralph and Nora (Whicker) Edinger. He married Virginia I. Snyder June 18, 1949, in Hamilton, and she survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: a son, Donald C. Edinger Jr. of Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. James ( Linda) Edwards of Memphis, Tenn. and Mrs. Jeffrey (Vickie) Hooper of Fostoria; two brothers, Robert Paul and Duane H. Edinger, both of Risingsun; two sisters, Mrs. Pat Runion of Tiffin and Mrs. Ronald (Ruth) Hedden of Fostoria; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Edinger was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert T. Hill officiating. Interment will be in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia, with military graveside services conducted by United Veterans of Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Dale David John Corner

Dale David John Corner, 82, of 2116 Cobblestone Dr., Findlay, died at 6:35 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at his residence. He was born in Lockport, N.Y. Oct. 28, 1919, to the late Thomas N. and Cleva (Gibson) Corner. He married Marguerite L. Raymont in Fostoria Dec. 28, 1941, and she survives in Findlay.

Other survivors include: a son, Thomas C. Corner of Tiffin; three sisters, Marge K. Desormeau of Ft. Myers, Fla., Evelyn Twardak of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Betty Wonders of West Independence; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Oletha Martin.

Mr. Corner was a construction electrician for Local 8 I.B.E.W., Toledo, for 38 years and retired in Nov. 1984. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 73 and former member of VFW, and Masonic Lodge # 288 F & AM, all in Fostoria, and a former member of the Zenobia Shrine, Toledo.

In June, 1942, Mr. Corner was inducted into the U.S. Coast Guard and served on the escort vessel, U.S.S. Prudent until being decommissioned in Sept. 1945.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Fountain cemetery, Fostoria, with military graveside rites being conducted by United Veterans of Fostoria. Arrangements are being handled by Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Memorials may be made to: Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 425 Frazer St., Findlay, Ohio.

Frances L. Escher

Frances L. Escher, age 86, of Northville, Mich., formerly of Grosse Pointe, Mich., died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002.

She was born in Tiffin, Ohio.

Surviving are: a sister, Mary Alice Shultz, and a sister-in-law, Kathryn Escher, both of Tiffin; many nieces and nephews from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Nebraska; and a long time friend, Irene Gutkowski. A brother, John Escher, is deceased.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Church, 24505 Meadow Brook Road, Novi, Mich. A final memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, Tiffin, Ohio, followed by interment in St. Joseph cemetery.

In lieu of flowers or donations, take the time to spend with a senior citizen. For additional information call O'Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home (248) 348-1800.

Janice J. Tolford

Janice J. Tolford, age 62, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at her home.

Surviving are daughters, Tracey (Douglas) Kagy and Ann K. (Ty) Gates, both of Lewis Center, Ohio; and grandsons, George and Ethan Gates. She married George K. Tolford in 1964, and they divorced.

Mrs. Tolford was a rare books librarian with the State Library of Ohio. A graduate of Allegheny College, Meadville, Pa.., she received her master of library science from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a 22 year survivor of breast cancer.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 E. Broad St., Columbus, with the Rev. Richard Burnett presiding.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309, in memory of Mrs. Janice J. Tolford.

Arrangements are by the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel.

Francis H. Reinhart

Francis H. Reinhart, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002.

He was born Aug. 4, 1909, to the late Michael and Jennie Reinhart. On Feb. 22, 1940, he married Helen Beidleman. She died Dec. 15, 1989.

Surviving are a son, David R. of Easley, S.C.; two grandsons, Aaron and Brad; his twin brother, Harold R.; and a sister, Dolores Seislove.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he had worked for the Advertiser-Tribune. His hobby was golfing. He taught golfing at Heidelberg College, Hopewell Loudon School, Nature Trails and the Senior Citizens. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and served as a Boy Scout leader.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heidelberg Golf program.

John Alexander Gibson III

John Alexander Gibson III, 70, of Aigler Boulevard, Bellevue, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, as the result of injuries received in a car accident. He was born in West Virginia Oct. 31, 1931, to the late John A. and Lona B. (Gay) Gibson. He married Ivy Strader Aug. 22, 1958, and she survives.

Other survivors include: son, John A. Gibson IV of Bellevue; daughter, Mrs. Don (Kimberly) Oates of Bellville; brother, James (Linda) Gibson of Akron; and three grandsons.

Services will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Floyd Funeral Home, Weston, W. Va. Interment will be in Orlando cemetery, Orlando, W. Va.

Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3. at the Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at the First United Methodist Church, Bellevue.
