Howard G. Burger
Howard G. Burger, 84, of Fostoria, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, in his home.
He was born in Newcastle, Pa., to Jack B. and Bess Burger and was one of three children.
Surviving are a son, Edward and wife Betsy Burger of Hamilton, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Ken (Suzie) Braunstein of Potomac, Md., Mrs. Mel (Laura) Krasney of Stamford, Conn., a sister Gloria Goldberg of Toledo; and eight grandchildren, Julie, Evan and Jeff Braunstein, Cara, Melissa, and Daniel Krasney, and Erin and Eric Burger.
The family moved to Fostoria in the early 1920's and in 1926 founded Burger Shoes, a retail shoe store. Howard assumed operation of the store from his father in the 1950's and it has been a landmark business in Fostoria ever since.
Mr Burger was active in community affairs which included: a 33rd Degree Mason and member of the Fostoria Masonic Lodge 288, and long-time member of Temple B'nai Israel.
He was a member of Fostoria High School class of 1935 and attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin. He was also a member of Fostoria Chamber of Commerce.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theatre during World War II.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Beth Shalom cemetery in Oregon, Ohio.
There will be no visitations.
Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.

Thomas C. Stevenson
Thomas C. Stevenson, 73, Fostoria, died at 11:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Ada, to James T. and Hazel Marie (Chalfin) Stevenson. Both are deceased. He married
Jean A. Wheeler on Feb. 27, 1949, in Tiffin and she survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: a son, the Rev. Gary T. Stevenson of Santa Monica, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Susan) Gebauer of Fostoria; two brothers, Eugene P. and William L. Stevenson, both of Fostoria; four sisters, Barbara A. Conley, Mary Lou Duvall and Mrs. Robert (Betty) Hirsch, all of Fostoria, and Mrs. Eldon (Alice) Orick of Lima; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The Rev. Larry W. Knigga will officiate services at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria, where the body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria.
Robert H. Brown
Robert H. 'Bob' Brown, 70, Harpster, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 16, 1931, in Newark, Ohio, to the late Howard and Margaret (Kennedy-France) Brown. He married
Annette Crider on April 7, 1956, in Richmond, Ind. She survives.
Survivors also include: three sons, Patrick Brown of Harpster, Brian Brown of Upper Sandusky, and John Brown of Meadow Lands, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Peggy) Sexton of Harpster; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, William Brown of Harpster.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Lowell E. Studer
Lowell E. Studer, 89, of Grand Rapids, Ohio, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at Otterbein-Portage Valley Nursing Home in Pemberville.
He was born Dec. 26, 1911, in Whitehouse, to George and Jessie (Yawberg) Studer. He married
Eilene E. Huff on Jan. 1, 1937, and she survives in Grand Rapids.
Survivors also include: three sons, Lynn J. Studer of Grand Rapids, Gary K. Studer of Tiffin and James D. Studer of Wimberley, Texas; a brother, Lawrence K. Studer of Whitehouse; and a sister, Ruth Manor of Grand Rapids.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wright Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, with the Rev. Don Entenman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Grand Rapids.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m.
Mary A. Yost
Mary A. Yost, 79, 2805 McCutchenville, Fostoria, died at 5:47 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Blanchard Valley Health Center, Findlay.
She was born Feb. 5, 1922, to Raymond and Josephine C. (Duding) Smith. Both are deceased. She married
Alfred N. Yost on May 7, 1949, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church and he survives.
Survivors also include: four sons, John R., James A. and Gerald P. Yost, all of Fostoria, and Steven M. Yost of Upper Sandusky; five daughters, Mrs. Wilfred (Susan) Tiell and Mrs. Michael (Margaret) Brady, both of Fostoria, Diane M. Yost of Tiffin, Mrs. Thomas (Sharon) Wood of Findlay, and Mrs. Jeffery (Amy) Wuebbolt of Fairfield; a sister, Kathryn Yost of Fostoria; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Hoening Funeral Home.
Carolyn H. Evanesky
Carolyn H. Evanesky, 67, 216 W. Jackson St., Fostoria, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at her residence.
She was born April 17, 1934, to the late Carl and Opal Leora (Polen) Williams. She married
John Joseph Evanesky on Jan. 31, 1952, in Hagerstown, Md. and he survives.
Survivors also include: three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Mary) Puffenberger and Mrs. Richard (Theresa) Gwiner, both of Fostoria, and Mrs. William (Carolyn) Brauer of Bemidji, Minn.; a foster brother, Clifford Bissett of Morgantown, W. Va.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria.
Terry L. Keckler
Terry Lee Keckler, 46, Bradenton, Fla., died at 3 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 6, 1955, in Fostoria to Claude and Viola (Hunt) Keckler and both are deceased. His wife Fay (Tetrick) Keckler survives in Bradenton, Fla.
Survivors also include: two sons, Christopher Keckler of Longbeach, Miss., and Shawn Levering of Nelsonville; a stepson, Dan Tetrick of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter, Jamie Keckler of Sarasota, Fla.; three brothers, Kenneth Keckler of Risingsun, Ronald Keckler of Findlay and Tim Keckler of Bradenton, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Services took place on Dec. 18, 2001, at the Palma Sola Community Church in Bradenton, Fla. Graveside Committal services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Kansas cemetery, rural Kansas, Ohio. The Rev. Dr. Larry Knigga will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

James E. Dazey
James E. Dazey, 64, of 38 Crayon St., Tiffin, died at 11:25 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born March 2, 1937, in Elyria, to Alfred and Mary (Ketchum) Dazey. Both are deceased. He married
Mary I. Ludwig on April 9, 1966, in Tiffin and she survives.
Survivors also include: a son, Floyd "Bill" Shetterly of Tiffin; two daughters Ms. Jennifer Shetterly of Tiffin and Ms. Dawn Marie Dazey of Bradenton, Fla., and a grandson, Thomas James Elchert of Tiffin.
Deceased also include a brother, George Dazey and a sister, Shirley Dazey.
Mr. Dazey retired as a tow motor operator after 34 years with the former Tiffin Enterprise (Ameriwood). He attended First Christian Church in Tiffin.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed mowing his grass, McDonald's coffee and reading the newspaper.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore. The Rev. Alonzo Wise and the Rev. Stephanie McLemore will be co-officiants. A military graveside service conducted by the United Veterans Council will follow at Fairmont cemetery in Tiffin.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Saffel Ave., Sycamore.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or First Christian Church in Tiffin.
James L. Pasch
James L. Pasch, 65, of 210 Elcamino Real, Las Cruces, New Mexico, died Dec. 20, 2001, in Don Ana County, Las Cruces, New Mexico.
He was born Sept. 5, 1936, in Fremont to the late Howard and Margaret (Hill) Pasch. He married
Agnes Wiley of Vacaville, Calif. He later married
Nancy Pasch and she is deceased.
Survivors include: a son, James Pasch Jr. of Vacaville, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. George (Janet) Rivas of Las Cruces, New Mexico; two stepsons, Harry Smith Jr. and Bruce Smith; two stepdaughters, Debra Ann Wheeler and Rose Marie Mirze, all of Naples, Fla., two brothers, Gerald Pasch of Nashville, Tenn., and Douglas Pasch of Yellow Springs, Ohio; a half brother, William Hill of Tampa, Fla., four sisters, Betty Thompson of New Haven, Ohio, Eleanor Byrd of Pinellas Park, Fla., Laura Jean Bliss of Estero, Fla., and Mary Lou Trick of Cottontown, Tenn., and 11 grandchildren.
A grandchild also preceded Mr. Pasch in death.
Mr. Pasch resided in Las Cruces, New Mexico, for four years. He previously resided at 4276 CR 13 in Kansas, Ohio.
He retired after serving his country in the U.S. Army and U.S.M.C. during the Vietnam War. He had also worked at Timmons Equipment for 10 years.
He was a graduate of Jackson High School in Fremont and a member VFW and the American Legion.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Engle Funeral Home in Bettsville with Pastor Paul Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in Kansas cemetery, Kansas, Ohio.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Bonita R. Emery
Bonita Ruth Emery, 73, of Clyde, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, in Bethesda Care Center in Fremont.
She was born April 8, 1928, in Newport, Ohio, to the late Gordon R. and Lenora (VanDine) Hoff. She married
Gale Emery Feb. 12, 1949, in Green Springs. He survives in Clyde.
Survivors also include: sons, Gary H. and Brian D. Emery of Fremont, Mitchell K. Emery of Maumee and Dana T. Emery of Green Springs; a daughter, Rae Anne Brooks of Toledo; a half brother, Gordon R. Hoff of Valley City, N.D., a stepsister, Sue Parks of Marietta; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be private at Engle-Young Funeral Home in Green Springs. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Wilma Miller Ginnever
Wilma Miller Ginnever, 66, of Malibar, Fla., and formerly of Clyde died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at her home.

Wilma J. Ginnever, 66, of Malibar, Fla., and formerly of Clyde, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at her residence.
She was born July 24, 1935, in Mt. Sterling, Ohio, to the late Virgil and Sylvia (Strausbaugh) Miller.
She married
Merrill Ginnever Oct. 25, 1980. He survives in Florida.
Survivors also include: eight sons, Thomas Hessick of Green Springs, Michael Hessick of Fremont, Terry Hessick of Fayette, Ohio, Kenneth Hessick of Newport News, Va., and Douglas, David, Steven and William Ginnever, all of Michigan: four brothers, Robert Miller and Virgil (Hank) Miller Jr., both of Fremont, Kenneth Miller of Green Springs and Donald Miller of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Larry (Ruth) Ross of Green Springs; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Interment will be in McPherson cemetery in Clyde.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Anna Louise Bethel
Anna Louise Bethel, 6-month-old daughter of Ronald and Jamie Bethel of Van Wert, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at her home. She was born June 30, 2001, in Tiffin to the Bethels. They survive in Van Wert.
Survivors also include a brother, Thomas Bethel at home; a stepbrother, Jeremy Bethel of Fostoria; a stepsister, Heather Bethel of Fostoria; maternal grandparents, Jim and Jenny Jenkins of Tiffin; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Linda Bethel of Fostoria; and paternal great-grandmother, Mary Cupp of Fostoria.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the New Hope Center in Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery.
Visitation is private.

Ronald H. Powers
Word has been received of the death of Ronald H. Powers, who died Dec. 12, 2001, in Florissant, Mo.
A memorial service will take place at Trinity United Church of Christ, 131 E. Perry St. in Tiffin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services and a luncheon will be served at the church following services.
