Mildred Heinze
Mildred Heinze, 80, of 1521 N. Countyline St. in Fostoria died at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
She was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Gallia County, Ohio to Lewis and Pansy (Walsh) Spires. Both are deceased. She married
Delbert Heinze on Dec. 28, 1967, in Findlay and he survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: a brother, Ted Spires of Defiance; four sisters, Dorothy Underwood of Fostoria, Hilda French of McConnelsville, Ohio, Virginia Addlesburger of Gallipolis, and Marie Powers of Huntington, W. Va.
Preceding her in death include: six brothers, Clair, Stanley, Emerson, Chester, Ralph, and Lawrence Spires; and two sisters, Frances Price and Margie Gardner.
Mrs. Heinze was a homemaker and a member of the Fostoria Eagles Auxiliary; Ladies of the Moose; and VFW Auxiliary of Fostoria.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria. The Rev. David Chapman will be the officiant. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens in Arcadia.
Visitation is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Marjorie L. Panuto
Marjorie L. Panuto, 78, 72 Wentz St., Tiffin, Ohio, died Tuesday Nov. 20, 2001, in Mount Carmel Hospital West, Columbus, Ohio.
She was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late Christian and Edna (Smith) Shuey. On Aug. 31, 1947, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, Ohio, she married
Dominic A. Panuto, who survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Steve Panuto of Tiffin, Ohio and Jeff Panuto of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Grace Bolen of Port Charlotte, Fla.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A brother, Asa Shuey; and a sister, Christina Williams, also are deceased.
Mrs. Panuto, a 1943 Columbian High School graduate, was a homemaker and worked for Webster Mfg. in the blue print department.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and its Altar-Rosary Society.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Nov. 24, in St. Mary Catholic Church, with con-celebrants the Rev. Frank A. Murd, the Rev. Stephen Schroeder and the Rev. Thomas Ankenbrandt. The rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 7:45 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to her family in care of the funeral home.
James E. Belcher
James E. Belcher, 74, of Clyde, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at
his residence.
He was born June 17, 1927, in Belcher, Ky., to the late Bart and Nettie (Coleman) Belcher. He married
Sybil Ramey on November 29, 1947 and she survives.
Survivors also include: three sons: the Rev. James R. Belcher of Clyde, Oscar D. Belcher of Mauckport, Ind., and Robert W. Belcher of Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Darl (Deborah) Davenport of Bellevue, and Patricia Belcher of Parma Heights; a brother, Gene Belcher of Romulus, Mich., two sisters, Zorra Potter of Taylor, Mich., and Lenora Auyars of Westland, Mich., nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Clyde. Interment will be in McPherson cemetery in Clyde.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde.
Thelma E. Weber
Thelma E. Weber, 82, of Clyde, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at Arbors of Clyde.
She was born Feb. 5, 1919, in Hessville, to the late Charles and Anna (Bodeman) Schwartz. She married
Thornton C. Weber on Jan. 14, 1942 and he survives.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Interment will be in West Union cemetery in Gibsonburg.
Visitation is one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Marsha France
Marsha France, wife of former Tiffin resident, James T. France, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 8, 1943, to Dr. and Mrs. William Ayres.
Survivors include: her husband, James; a son, Lt. Derek France of Nellis Air Force Base; a daughter Renee France of Portland, Ore; and two grand-daughters.
Services will take place Saturday at Christ the King in Las Vegas.
Mary E. Huffman
Mary E. Huffman, 76, of 642 McDougal St., Fostoria, Ohio, died at 11:09 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 20, 2001, in Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born Oct. 22, 1925, in Fostoria, Ohio, to the late Floyd Petre and Alice J. (Kauffman) Petre-Laipply. Her husband, Donald R. Huffman, whom she married
Dec. 19, 1953, in Angola, Ind., survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son, Robert T. Huffman of Fostoria; a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren and two brothers, Thor Laipply of Payne, Ohio and Victor Petre of Mid West City, Okla.
Mary had been a "cook" for several Fostoria area restaurants. She started the "Adopt a Pet" program and helped find homes for over 5,800 pets in many area cities. She also was known as the "Afghan Lady," making and showing dozens of her prize winning afghans. She did survey work and solicitations for the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and volunteer work for Fostoria Altrusa Club.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Maureen A. Kerlin
Maureen A. Kerlin, 41, formerly of June St., Fremont, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at University Hospital in Cleveland.
She was born March 3, 1960, in Fremont to Gavino and Genevieve (Cisneros) Obregon. He is deceased and she survives in Hessville. Her husband Robert A. Kerlin, whom she married
on May 5, 1990, at Fremont Christian Center, survives in Fremont.
Survivors also include: two stepsons, Jeremiah and Joel Kerlin, both of Clyde; two brothers, David A. Obregon of Fremont and Mario Obregon of Lindsey, Ohio; and a sister, Andrea A. Obregon of Fremont.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Victory Fellowship. Interment will be in St. Lawrence cemetery in Gibsonburg.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, 425 E. State St., Fremont; and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
Jerome P. "Jerry" Falter
Jerome P. "Jerry" Falter, 70, of 21 Tomb St., Tiffin, died on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001 at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin. He was born Nov. 9, 1931 in Bloomville to Roman and Dorothy (Kenney) Falter. On Sept. 13, 1958 he married
Carol A. Welter in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, and she survives.
Also surviving include: a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Jackson of Whitehouse; two sons, Charles and Donald Falter, both of Tiffin; a sister, Mrs. Eloise Keiffer of Tiffin; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Falter was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War and a Purple Heart recipient.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Church. Burial will be at St. Mary cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at 5:45 p.m. Sunday. Rosary at 9:45 a.m. Monday. Military Graveside service will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Norman F. Phillips
Norman F. Phillips, 77, of 425 West Ridge Dr., Unit 11, Fostoria, died at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2001 at Independence House, Fostoria. He was born Oct. 25, 1924 in Risingsun to Floyd W. and Elizabeth (Kinney) Phillips. He married
Marjorie K. Fawcett on Sept. 9, 1944. They were divorced. He then married
W. LaVonne Roppe on Feb. 23, 1974, and she survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Michael J Phillips of Annandale, VA.; a daughter, Mrs. Ann Phillips DiMisa of Fairfax Station, VA.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Paula (Good) Lombardy and Pamela (Good) Huffman, both of Fostoria; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Jurrus of Hamilton.
Mr. Phillips was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in WW II.
A private service will be held in Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Internment at Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia with Military Graveside Services by the United Veterans Council.
Geraldine Ann Payne
Geraldine Ann Payne, 62, of 541 E. Market St., Apt. 3, Tiffin died at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at her residence.
She was born March 17, 1939, in Tiffin to the late Francis C. and Berniece (Kuhn) Schetter. She married
Leo Payne in Beaumont, Texas. He preceded her in death in February of 1993.
Survivors include a son, Douglas Charles McIntyre of Fremont; two daughters, Mrs. David (Debora Ann) Gressman of Tiffin and Mrs. David (Diane Marie) Claar of Fremont; a brother, James Schetter of Tiffin; four sisters, Mrs. Paul (Christine) Breidenbach, Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Rice, Mrs. Adam (Kathleen) Keefe and Mrs. Joseph (Marilyn "Cookie") Kastner, all of Tiffin; and seven grandchildren, Aaron and Nathan Gressman, Rachel and Amanda Claar, David Claar III, and Steven and Ashley McIntyre.
Mrs. Payne was a 1957 graduate of Calvert High School and a 1978 graduate from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
She was a licensed practical nurse working the third shift at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
Memberships included: St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin; Vice-Regent of the Daughters of Isabella; co-president of St. Joseph Rosary Altar Society; the Calvert 1957 Class Club; St. Joseph Church Choir; Calvert High School Alumni Association; and the Calvert Band.
A funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. James Say will be the officiant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin.

John D. Rossell
John D. Rossell, 84, of Carey died at 10:58 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Eaglewood Care Center in Carey.

Mary L. Rinebold
Loving wife and mother Mary L. Rinebold, 91, of 1185 VanBuren St., Fostoria, died at 6:38 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at The Toledo Hospital.
She was born Aug. 22, 1910, in Fostoria, to Louis and Rosalie (Erbland) Bauer. Both are deceased. She married
Judson "Jud" Rinebold on July 19, 1940, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. He survives in Fostoria.
A son, Rodger Rinebold of Cincinnati, also survives.
Preceding her in death also include: two brothers, Louis Bauer Jr. and Albert Bauer; and two sisters, Josephine Nibeck and Louise Aurand.
Mrs. Rinebold was a homemaker and a retired registered nurse, having worked at Fostoria Community Hospital and private practices.
Memberships included: St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria; a longtime blood bank volunteer for the Fostoria American Red Cross; and the Fostoria Country Club where she was an avid golfer.
She graduated in 1928 from St. Wendelin High School in Fostoria and in 1933 from St. John's Hospital in Cleveland.
A rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoening Funeral Home with a Christian Wake Service at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Fostoria Chapter of the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
Earl V. Bordner
Earl V. Bordner, 85, formerly of Siam died at 5:40 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Ruffing Family Care Center in Bloomville.
He was born March 4, 1916, in Toledo to the late Roy C. and Daisy (Klahr) Bordner.
Survivors include: a nephew, Douglas P. Bordner and his wife, Mary Lou; a niece, June Hacker and her husband John; great-nieces Deb Martin and husband John, and Colleen Kirpatrick; and one great-nephew, Scott Bordner and family.
Mr. Bordner retired from the Pennsylvania Rail Road as a trackman. He was a member of the Attica United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at the Attica-Venice Township cemetery in Attica.

Walter F. Chester
Walter F. Chester, 80, 237 W. Lelar St., Tiffin, Ohio, died at 5:55 a.m. Sunday Nov. 25, 2001, in the Ruffing Family Care Center, Bloomville, where he had been a patient for 10 days.
He was born Oct. 19, 1921, in Benton, Ohio, to the late Milo J. and Linda (Stover) Chester. On May 25, 1941, in Defiance, Ohio, he married
Iola Sours, who survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Allan (Janice) Chester of Marion, Ohio; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Five brothers and five sisters, also are deceased.
Mr. Chester, who had lived most of his life in Tiffin, retired as a machinist in 1982, from the National Machinery, after 39 years of employment.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Tiffin Elks, Masonic Lodge, VFW Post 2858 and National Machinery Quarter Century Club.
A U.S. Army-Air Corps veteran, he served in Europe during World War II.
The Rev. Margaret M. Marks will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 27, 2001, service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens, where the United Veterans Council will conduct military graveside services.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or First Lutheran Church.
