Harley B. Brown
Harley B. Brown, 79, of Bloomville, died at 4:05 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at his home.
He was born Sept. 29, 1922, to the late Elza and Martha (Osborne) Brown.
He married
Mary Elizabeth Foist on June 30, 1946, in Bloomville. She is deceased.
Survivors include: two sons, Garry A. Brown of Bloomville and Larry A. Brown of Tiffin; a sister, Virginia Franenfield of Lake Worth, Fla., four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brown served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of World War II.
Services and burial will be announced at a later date.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home in Bloomville.
Suzanne Kagy
Suzanne (Riley) Kagy, 79, of Bloomville died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at Mill Run Care Center in Hilliard, Ohio.
Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home in Bloomville is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond L. Holmer
Raymond L. Holmer, 83, of rural Attica, died Tuesday afternoon Oct. 16, 2001, at his home.
He was born April 18, 1918, in rural Republic to the late Leo and Anna (Strub) Holmer. Mr. Holmer was married
Aug. 11, 1945, to Bernadine (Studer) Holmer, who survives. He worked in the auto salvage business until retiring in 1999.
Mr. Holmer is survived by his wife, Bernadine; one sister, Geraldine Davis of Lyevoak, Calif. and one brother, Leonard Holmer of Vancouver, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Delores Smith.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Oct. 19, 2001, in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Joseph P. Syzbka officiating. Burial will be in the Mother of Sorrows cemetery, Tiro.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, Attica, with a rosary service being held at 4 p.m.
Memorials contributions may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Building Fund through the funeral home.
Joseph A. Keller
Joseph A. Keller, beloved husband for 70 years to Ann J. (Tierney) Keller. Dear father of Mary Jo (Robert) Murray of Tiffin, Robert J. Keller of West Chester, Jerome A. (Helen) Keller of Fairfield and the late James M. Keller. Loving grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 10. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by sisters, Helen M. Keller and Marie Gallagher. Died Monday Oct. 15, 2001, at the age of 95.
Family and friends may call at the Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Road at Galbriath 5-8 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gertrude Church.

William H. Duffey
William H. Duffey, 43, of 444 Water St., Tiffin, was found dead at his residence.
He was born July 22, 1958, to the late Harry and Betty (Lamalie) Duffey.
Survivors include: a brother, Thomas Duffey; a sister, Sheila Bartee; and a half brother, John Duffey.
Services will be private. The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Melvin V. Keller
Melvin V. Keller, 97, formerly of Fremont, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at Arbors of Clyde.
He was born Nov. 11, 1903 in Sandusky County to the late John E. and Elva (Kohr) Keller. He married
Ursula Ronski on May 1, 1923. She died in 1973. He later married
Wilma Berryman on Nov. 2, 1974. She died in 1985. He later married
Flossie Gilbert Smith and she survives in Clyde.
Survivors also include: a son, Richard Keller, Sr., of Wyoming; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Don Poore, Ann Brock, Betty Miller and Mary Nafziger, all of Clyde; and a sister, Evegeline Reitz of Bellevue.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.
Freda M. Nederhouser
Freda M. Nederhouser, 74, formerly of 432 Ash St., Fostoria, died at 12:28 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001 at Alterra Clare Bridge in North Oaks, MN. She was born Dec. 6, 1926 to John and Flossie (Shoolroy) Phillips. On June 1, 1947 she married
Raymond C. Nederhouser. He preceded her in death.
Surviving include: a son, Cary R. Nederhouser of Kailua, HA; a daughter, Mrs. Sharon K. Wandmacher of Circle Pines, MN.; two brothers, Norman Phillips of Fostoria and Edwin Phillips of Bettsville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial at Scott Trinity cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, prior to services.
Clarissa Emily Bolander
Clarissa Emily Bolander, 100, of Arlington Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Arlington, died at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001. She was born Nov. 29, 1900 to Claude E. and Blanch (Reese) Pownell. On May 11, 1916 she married
Glenn Bert Bolander. He died Nov. 29, 1990.
Surviving include: four sons, Robert Bolander of Findlay, Elmer Bolander of Brooksville, Fla., Joe D. Bolander of Cincinnati, and Paul Bolander of Mt. Blanchard; a daughter, Mrs. Clara Jane Youngs of Findlay; 10 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren.
The services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Beach Funeral Home, Carey. Burial will be Maple Grove cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.
Ralph V. Brown Jr.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., today, at St. Joseph cemetery, for Ralph V. Brown, Jr., who died Oct. 13, 2001. Followed by Military Rites by the United Veterans Council. Arrangements by Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.
Cornelia Rose Dariano
Cornelia Rose Dariano, 80, 686 S. Sandusky St., Tiffin, died Wednesday Oct. 17, 2001.
She was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Lindon, Utah, to the late Alonzo Howard and Cornelia Elizabeth (Swapp) Huntsman. Her husband, Matthew J. Dariano, whom she married
June 14, 1937, in the state of Nevada, survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Mary Frances) Gaietto of Tiffin and Gayle Swenson of Bedford, Texas; a brother, La Var Huntsman of Pleasant Grove, Utah; a sister, Viola Schuman of Saint George, Utah; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A son, Matthew Eugene Dariano, and four brothers, Walter, Cecil, Steven and Wilber, also are deceased.
Mrs. Dariano worked as an assembler for Tiffin General Electric until 1955, then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and worked at the Tapelacator Company. She and her husband moved back to Tiffin in 1995. They had been married
for 64 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday Oct. 22, in St. Mary Church with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake service will be at 5:45 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials may be made to church restoration, Masses or a charity of the donor's choice.
Vere D. Harper
Vere D. Harper, 98, formerly of 145 Westwood Drive and the Melmore area, died at 5:15 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at Elmwood Nursing Home, Green Springs.
She was born in Melmore on Nov. 19, 1902, to Elmer B. and Nettie (Dennis) Carrick.
She married
Harold Brown and they divorced. She then married
Omer "Barney" Harper on June 21, 1952. He died Aug. 7, 1994.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Melmore United Methodist Church with burial in Rock Creek cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Dorotha B. Sherman
Dorotha B. Sherman, 77, of 807 Marseilles Ave., Upper Sandusky, died at 1:25 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, in the Wyandot Manor Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky.
She was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Pitt Township, Wyandot County, to Russell J. and Zella M. (Billings) Hottman. On Jan. 31, 1948, she married
William D. Sherman in Upper Sandusky. He is deceased.
Survivors include: three sons, William R. and Charles M. of Upper Sandusky, and Robert E. of Largo, Fla.; a daughter, Dianna M. Stauffer of Findlay; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Keith (Betty) Feller of Corydon, Ind.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the First Lutheran Church of Upper Sandusky. Burial will be in Old Mission cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Cletus B. Smith
Cletus B. Smith, 79, of Limerick Road, Clyde, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 21, 1921, in Girton to Archie Iceman and Esther (Gormley) Smith. He married
Sarah Disandis on July 12, 1947, and she survives along with three sons, Michael of Helena, Mark of Bellevue and Patrick of Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Mick (Stephanie) Goodman of Kansas City, Mo., and Sandra Smith of Clyde; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Archie and Kenneth of Fremont, and James of Tiffin; and two sisters, Ruby Kapp of Fremont, and Helen Witter of Pemberville.
He was in the Army with the 101st AirBorne Division during World War II.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery where the Clyde VFW and American Legion will conduct military services.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with Christian Wake services at 3:30 p.m.
Glen Meade Jr.
Glen Meade Jr., 29, of 437 N. Ohio Ave., Fremont, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at his residence.
He was born July 29, 1972, to Glenn A. and Mary G. (Gibson) Meade. He married
Dawn Stewart on Dec. 25, 1995, in Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, Fremont, and she survives in Fremont.
Other survivors include: his mother and stepfather, Bobby Bowman of Somerset, Ky.; his father and stepmother, Anita Meade of Wakeman; his paternal grandmother, Willie Mae Hamilton of Fort Seneca; a son, Lexyn J. Meade, at home; a stepdaughter, Chelsey Rumberger of Bellevue; two stepbrothers, Erik Phillips of Monroeville, and Tyler Phillips of Wakeman; two sisters, Tammy Meade of Norwalk, and Lori Meade of Tiffin; and a half-sister, Sue Eckelberry of Tiffin.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont, with burial at the Pleasant Union cemetery, Old Fort.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Charles William Taylor
Charles William Taylor, 64, formerly of Bloomville, Ohio, died Saturday Oct. 20, 2001, at his home in Venice, Florida.
He was born in Bucyrus, graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1955, and attended Ohio University and Ohio State University. He was a U.S. veteran and served in the Air National Guard.
Charlie was a mechanical engineer working for Versa-Matic Pump Company until retiring in February of 2001. During his career he had a role in over 300 patents. He was a member of the Bloomville Lions Club, Tiffin AmVets, Tiffin First Baptist Church and had attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Murraysville, PA, when he lived in Greensburg,, PA. He was a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. Charlie enjoyed playing softball, fishing, watching birds, playing cards, playing golf, watching fireworks, reading, photography, writing, painting and watching movies. He also loved to spend time with family and friends and work on his classic MGB car.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sue (Flenner), whom he married
Aug. 2, 1958; two daughters, Jacqueline (Ted) Thompson III of Suffern, NY and JoLynn (Tom) Stallings of Huron; one sister, JoAnn Mathews of Mansfield; one brother, Mike (Cathy) Taylor, also of Mansfield; four grandsons, Timothy Douglas (Sherry) Taylor of Sidney, Ohio, William J. (Angie) Long of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Scott D. Long of Sidney, Ohio and Jordan D. Stallings of Huron and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Charles Taylor and a grandson, Joshua T. Stallings.
Memorial services will be held on Oct. 28, 2001, in Venice, Fla. and on Nov. 11, 2001 at 3 p.m. at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with the Rev. Dr. Jim Hoffman, Attica First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn cemetery in Bloomville.

Rita A. Book
Rita A. Book, 73, of N. Fifth St. in Upper Sandusky died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Kobacher House in Columbus.
She was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Wyandot County to George L. and Hilda M. (Brooks) Stief. Both are deceased. She married
Robert E. Book on Aug. 30, 1946, in Greenup, Ky. and he died Oct. 22, 1984.
Survivors include: six sons, Thomas Book, Charles and wife Laura Book, Gary and wife Stephanie Book, and Jack and wife Elizabeth Book, all of Upper Sandusky, Dale Book of Sycamore, and Donald and wife Pam Book of Nevada, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Duane (Barbara) Ruth of Nevada, Ohio, Mrs. Dan (Diane) Elchert of Carey, and Mrs. Rick (Sharon) Kindle of Hoytville; a brother, Gerald Stief of Galion, Ohio and 16 grandchildren.
Preceding her in death include: a son, Larry Book and a brother, Leroy Stief.
Mrs. Book graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1946. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky. She was "Citizen of the Year" in Upper Sandusky in 1986; a member of Eagles Auxiliary 2184 in Upper Sandusky; and a former member of the Lioness Club in Upper. She had been a board member on the Community Action Commission for Wyandot County for 23 years; and was the local representative for the Salvation Army in Upper Sandusky for 33 years; and a board member of the Wyandot County Heart Support Group for 18 years.
Mrs. Book was in charge of running the Park Concession Stand for the Softball Association for 15 years; and was former board member of the Wyandot County Cancer Society. Her hobbies included latch hooking and word search puzzles.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Evangelical U.M.C. in Upper Sandusky. The Rev. Derik Hines will be the officiant. Burial will be in Old Mission cemetery in Upper Sandusky.
Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and one hour prior to Wednesday's services at the church. William D. Conley
William D. Conley, 73, of Carey died at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at his residence.
He was born June 4, 1928, in Johnson County, Ky., to the late Paris and Malta (Hannah) Conley. He married
Josephine Blair on Dec. 22, 1959, in Carey and she survives.
Survivors also include: six sons, Bryan Conley of Bucyrus, Tim Conley of Willard, Mark, Frank Chris and Bill Conley, all of Carey; a daughter, Lisa Conley, of Carey; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and four sisters, Edna Perkins of Carey, Florence Caudill of Luckey, Merlyn J. Taylor of Paintsville, Ky., and Myrtle Patrick of Salyersville, Ky.
Mr. Conley was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery in Carey.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
