Leona C. Watson
General Electric retiree
Leona C. Watson, 87, of 168 Westwood Drive in Tiffin, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, after a sudden illness.
She was born April 23, 1914, in Seneca County, to the late Grover C. and Maude I. (Corthell) Miller. She married
Virgil O. Watson on Feb. 15, 1936, in Waterville, Ohio. He died June 24, 1993.
Survivors include: three sons, Thomas E. Watson of Tiffin, Robert G. Watson of Republic, and William L. Watson of Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Barbara Kay) Stinebaugh of Plymouth, Mich., and Mrs. Harold (Mary Ann) Helfer of Findlay; a sister, Jean Lloyd of Dearborn, Mich., 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Leath Mount and Mary Alice Smith.
Mrs. Watson worked for more than 25 years at General Electric in Tiffin as a winder and retired in 1979. She was a member of St. Jacobs United Church of Christ and its Ladies Guild, and the G.E.-Wats Club. She was a 1932 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, and a 1934 graduate of Bowling Green State University.
She was also an avid horse racing enthusiast.
The Rev. Ben Archer will officiate services at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Jacobs United Church of Christ in Republic. Burial will be in St. Jacobs cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home in Bloomville.
Memorials may be made to the church or the American Cancer Society.
Eugene Dunham
Brother of Tiffin residents
Word has been received of the death of Eugene "Gene" Dunham, who died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001 in Lexington, Ky.
He was born April 4, 1931, to Emerson L. and Ruth (Wilson) Dunham. He married
Alta Marie Elliot in 1990 and she died in June of 2001.
He is survived by a brother, Roger Dunham of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., four sisters, Dorothy Leaver, Hilda Zouhar and Carol J. Snyder of Tiffin; and Annabelle Castonguay of LaPlata, Md., two stepsons, Jerry and Winston Elliott, and one step-granddaughter.
Mr. Dunham was a U. S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He also worked as a truck driver and carpenter.
A private graveside memorial service is to take place in Fairlawn cemetery in Mutual, Ohio.

Helen S. Miller
Mother of Tiffin resident
Helen S. Miller, 92, a resident at the Community of Parkvue and formerly of Huron, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus.
She was born April 22, 1909, in Sandusky to the late Earl and Lena (Ehrhardt) Schatz. Her husband Edmon C. Miller died in 1966.
Survivors include: three daughters, Meredith Hickey of Solon, Janet Held of Dayton, and Susan Pfaff of Tiffin; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, James Schatz of Sandusky; and a sister, Marian Shadle of Sandusky.
Mrs. Miller was a 1927 graduate of the Sandusky High School, a 1929 graduate of Bowling Green Normal School. She was an elementary school teacher in the Sandusky Public Schools for many years prior to retirement.
She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, where she was a former Sunday School Superintendent. She was a former Camp Fire Girls Executive Director; a member of the Progressive Mother's Club; a charter member of the Sandusky Sailing Club and First Mates; and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was the first woman to complete the Sandusky Power Squadron course, and she delivered Meals on Wheels.
Services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 431 Columbus Ave. in Sandusky, where her body will lie in state from noon until time of service. The Rev. Lenore Kure will be the officiant. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. tonight at the Quick-Park and Pfeil Funeral Home, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.

Jack J. Ratliff
Fort Seneca resident
Jack J. Ratliff, 44, of 5819 N. TR 1022, Fort Seneca, died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001 at his residence. He was born Oct. 24, 1956 to Thomas J. and Viola (Long) Ratliff. His father preceded him in death. On Dec. 25, 1986 he married
Rose Simmons in Clyde, and she survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Troy Ratliff of Sandusky, Tod Ratliff of Ada, and Orion Ratliff of Fremont: a daughter, Denise Ratliff of Ada: two brothers, Roger Ratliff of Clyde and Ronald Ratliff of Republic; a sister, Wanda Ratliff of Green Springs; and 11 grandchildren.
Mr. Ratliff was a truck driver and member of Clyde Freewill Baptist Church.
The Rev. Paul Finney will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2001 funeral service at the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs. Burial will be at Pleasant Union cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Family and/or Community Hospice.
Kermit B. Miller
Former area resident
Kermit B. Miller, 82, of 580 Linn St., Chillicothe, formerly of Republic and Tiffin, died on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001 at his residence.
Surviving include: three children: and a sister, Mrs. John W. Heffner of Tiffin.
Mr. Miller was a retired rural mail carrier of the Chillicothe area.
The Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., today, at the Ware Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
Willard A. Bowersox
Clyde resident
Willard A. Bowersox, 84, of Meadow Lane, Clyde, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001 at Bellevue Hospital. He was born June 8, 1917 to Floyd and Bessie (Kistler) Bowersox. On Dec. 4, 1938 he married
June Fredrick and she survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Steven L. Bowersox of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a granddaughter, Rachel Bowersox.
Preceded in death were: three daughters, Sharon Kay Bowersox and infant daughter, Linda Bowersox; and a brother, Melvin Bowersox.
Mr. Bowersox was a Class of 1936 graduate of Clyde High School. A WW II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army as a Sargent. He worked as a maintenance engineer at Clyde-Green Springs School for over 40 years. Memberships included: St. Paul Lutheran Church, American Legion, V.F.W., and Eagles, all of Clyde; former member board of directors at Industrial Savings and Loan and Portage Valley Flying Club.
The Rev. Gerry Gosnell will officiate the 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2001 funeral service at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clyde. Burial will be at McPherson cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home.

Anna Mae Koepfer
Former Fostoria resident
Anna Mae Koepfer, 86, 35 year resident of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Fostoria, died at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001 at Tucson Medical Center. She was born July 23, 1915 to Daniel H. and Theresa (Welly) Nye. On May 20, 1939 she married
Norman M. Koepfer, he died Jan. 19, 1981.
Surviving include: a son, William N. Koepfer of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Michael A. Stilb of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Justin Nye of Fostoria; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Preceded in death were: a brother, Leonard Nye; three sisters, Virginia Conaway, Lucille Stein and Alice Omlor-Durkin.
Mrs. Koepfer was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tucson, a 1934 graduate of St. Wendelin High School and Charter member Fostoria Emblem Club 213.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2001 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be at St. Wendelin Parish cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hoening Funeral Home. A Christian Wake Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and the Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m., Monday, at the church.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and/or the American red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
Sandra L. McCool

Sandra L. McCool, 60, South Sandusky Street, died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, in St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born Oct. 19, 1940, in Tiffin to Paul and Anna (Steiner) Kleinhenz, who are deceased.
She was formerly married
to Jerry Bentz, then later married
Tom D. McCool on April 15, 1988, in Tiffin. He is deceased.
Surviving are a son, Steven Bentz of Tiffin; three brothers, Jim Kleinhenz of Fostoria and Steve and Pete Kleinhenz, both of Tiffin; two sisters, Mrs. David (Jeanette) Sisson of Avon Lake and Sue Allen of Simi Valley, Calif.; a grandchild, Brooklyn R. Bentz of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a 1958 graduate of Calvert High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin.
She was a waitress for over 20 years at Wyme's Restaurant in Tiffin, and also worked at the L&K restaurant and Paul's Cafe, both in Tiffin.
She bowled in the Monday Morning league and also Monday evenings at Gay Lanes, Tiffin. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, playing cards, gardening and being with her family.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Art Newiadomski officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.
The rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mary A. Graham, 91, formerly of 464 E. Perry St. and 115 Ella St., died at 8:35 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, in St. Francis Home.
Mrs. Graham was born June 7, 1910, in Seneca County to Thomas and Anna (Hoepf) Keefe. She married
Leonard C. Graham June 30, 1934, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, and he died Dec. 11, 1995.
Survivors include: two sons, George and Richard, both of Tiffin; two daughters, Mrs. Francis (Donna) Brose of Tiffin, and Mrs. Alan (Janice) Smith of Newark; a brother, Joseph of Tiffin; four sisters, Mrs. Sam (Anna) Allen of Bloomville, Mrs. Lloyd (Margaret) Parkins of Tiffin, Mrs. Linus (Jeanette) Hoepf of Tiffin and Mrs. Richard (Louise) O'Connor of Tiffin; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A daughter, Mary Lou Graham and eight infant children; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, James, Jerome and Thomas; and three sisters, Cecelia Schleter, Martha Jankowski and Agnes Hohman, are deceased.
She assisted her daughter at Cabin Creations; was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and the Legion of Mary. She also had been active in helping her husband with Boy Scout activities.
Rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. Monday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Thomas Ankenbrandt and the Rev. James Say will be the co-celebrants. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Fredericka C. Wagner

Fredericka C. Wagner, 86, of 8845 W. TR 96, New Riegel, died at 3:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 10, 1914, in New Riegel to Stephen and Theresa B. (Frederick) Coleman. On Oct. 12, 1940, she married
Francis A. "Shakey" Wagner in St. Peter Catholic Church, Alvada. He died Oct. 10, 1992.
Survivors include: six sons, Kenneth E. Coleman of Wapakoneta, Ronald S. and Richard A. Wagner of Fostoria, Gerald E. Wagner of Tiffin, Bernard F. Wagner of Arcadia and Stephen J. Wagner of Bellevue; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Janet) Davis of Bloomville, LaDonna Poignon of New Riegel and Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Castelan of Republic; 36 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Zita) Wickiser of Arcadia, and Bea Morrison of Tiffin.
A grandson, Brian Wagner; eight brothers, Floyd, Lawrence, Clarence, Edmund, Stephen, Silverious, William and Francis Coleman; and three sisters, Ida Bentz, Angeline Bentz and Viola Dickens, are deceased.
Mrs. Wagner graduated from Vanlue High School in 1933; was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, and its Rosary-Altar Society; and enjoyed making dozens of baby quilts.
A Rosary will be prayed at 12:40 p.m. Monday in the St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. with the Fr. Leonard Kistler C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Laura A. Heilman
Former McCutchenville resident
Laura A. Heilman, 80, of 78 Cardinal Court, Ashland, and formerly of McCutchenville died at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 4, 1920, to John and Zola (Romig) Bare in McCutchenville. She married
James Heilman Oct. 10, 1939. He died Oct. 20, 1981.
Survivors include: a son, James R. Heilman of Ashland; three grandchildren; a brother, James Bare of McCutchenville; and two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Shuff of Tiffin and Mrs. John (Lucretia) Curtis of Sylvania.
A sister and a brother are deceased.
She was a 1940 graduate of McCutchenville High School; retired from Bendix in Fostoria after 31 years; worked for four years at McDonald's in Ashland and at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Fostoria for 20 years. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville; a 50-year member of William Myers Chapter 196 OES, McCutchenville; and liked to crochet, knit and collect Teddy bears.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville, with the Rev. Roy Howell officiating. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery, McCutchenville.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, where an Order of Eastern Star Service will be conducted at 8:45 p.m.
