Raymond J. Loesser
Tiffin resident
Raymond J. Loesser, 38, of 21 Main St., Tiffin, died on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001 at his residence. He was born on Aug. 2, 1963 to James and Evie "Ruth" (Lovett) Loesser in Tiffin, and both parents survive.
Also surviving: a son, Zachary Regan Loesser of Taveres, Fla.; a daughter, Stephanie Reanne Loesser of Taveres, Fla.; two brothers, Dr. Mark A. Loesser of Findlay and Richard J. "Rich" Loesser of Parma.
Mr. Loesser was 1981 graduate of Columbian High School and graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He was a doctor of chiropractic medicine for nine years and a certified minister. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The Rev. Stephen Schoeder and The Rev. Tom Fisher will officiate the 2 p.m. Saturday funeral service at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home in Tiffin. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
Visitation hours are one hour prior to the service.
Jeremiah T. Michaels
Fostoria resident
Jeremiah T. Michaels, 25, of 424 McDougal St., Fostoria, died Thursday morning, Sept. 6, 2001, in a Seneca County accident.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Hoening Funeral Home of Fostoria.
D. Jean Rosenberger
Mother of local residents
D. Jean Rosenberger, 75, of Findlay, died Friday morning, Sept. 7, 2001, at her residence.
She was born July 19, 1926, in Ohio to the late Orvil and Lena (Osenbaugh) Higley. She married
Worth Schutzberg and he died. She later married
William "Bill" Rosenberger on Oct. 7, 1968, and he survives.
Survivors also include: three daughters, Linda F. Davis of Findlay, Mrs. Chris (Sue E.) Winstead of Bozeman, Mont., and Mrs. Clifford (Kathy A.) Ferguson of Fremont; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Shane (Sharon L.) Zickefoose of Fostoria; a stepson, Mark W. Rosenberger of Marblehead; five grandchildren; three brothers, George T. Collert of Aiken, S. C., Jack L. Collert of Lima, and Gerald J. "Gerry" Collert of Findlay; a sister, Mrs. Jim (Rosella) Pemberly of Barnesville, Ga.
Mrs. Rosenberger was a clerical worker at Dow Chemical; Montgomery Wards, Fostoria; and retired from Jaqua's Sporting Goods. She was a member of the Findlay Chapter 362, Women of the Moose; and Arcadia United Methodist Church.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home in Findlay. The Rev. Chris Cravens will be the officiant. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, East of Findlay.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, 205 W. Sandusky St. in Findlay.
Memorials may be made to Moose Haven Retirement Home or to a charity of the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.
Marjorie A. Kostyu
Heidelberg College graduate
Marjorie Ann (Butcher) Kostyu, 79, of the Carol Woods Retirement Community in Chapel Hill, N. C., died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001 at the retirement community.
She was born in Napoleon, on Feb. 16, 1922, to Edwin R. and Florence (Burns) Butcher. Her husband, Frank Kostyu, died March of 2001.
Survivors include: two sons, Joel A. Kostyu of Durham, N. C., and Paul E. Kostyu of Delaware; a daughter Mrs. Gary (Karhryn K.) Pasborg of Coral Springs, Fla., and seven grandchildren.
Deceased include a son, David Kostyu in 1958.
Mrs. Kostyu graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School and from Heidelberg College in 1943 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She later received a Master's Degree in English from Montclair State College in New Jersey. She was an elementary teacher in Alliance, in the 1950's and finished her education career as a high school English teacher in New Jersey in 1980. She taught placement students and enjoyed the most teaching Shakespeare. Upon her retirement, she moved to Durham, N. C. in 1981. She was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Durham, N. C.
Services will take place at Billow's Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Burial Park, both in Akron. Date and times were not provided.

Ruth Ann Mullholland
Fostoria resident
Ruth Ann Mullholland, 60, of Fostoria, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at her home.
She was born March 23, 1941, in Bairdstown, to Fred and Dorothy (Harmon) Wildman. They are deceased. She married
Jack Mullholand on June 1, 1959, in Bairdstown. He is deceased.
Survivors include a son, Mark Mullholand of Bradner; a daughter, Alice Curlis of Fostoria; a sister, Alice Burris of Bairdstown; three half brothers, Rick Wildman of Findlay, the Rev. John Wildman of Marion, and Chuck Wildman of Mt. Blanchard; and one grandchild.
Deceased include a son, Tim Mullholand and a brother, Dave Wildman.
Mrs. Mullholand was a 1959 graduate of Bloomdale H. S., and a member of Bairdstown United Methodist Church.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bairdstown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Adler officiating.
Burial will be in Weaver cemetery near Bloomdale.
Visitaiton is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.

Carl W. Rodrick
Retired contractor
Carl W. Rodrick, 87, of 165 Central Ave., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born Oct. 25, 1913, in Tiffin to the late Earl W. and Lelia B. (Fast) Rodrick. He married
Hazel Sherman on Aug. 6, 1937 in Sycamore. She died July 23, 1995. On Sept. 9, 1997, he married
Fern (Allen) Maines and she survives in Tiffin.
Deceased include: a brother, Charles Rodrick, and a sister, Helen K. Sherman.
Mr. Rodrick was a retired contractor and builder for 22 years. He was a member of the the Ebenezer United Methodist Church; Worshipful Master and three time District Deputy Grand Master Tiffin Masonic Lodge 77, Seneca Chapter 42; a Royal Master and Select Master Degree and Super Excellent Master Degree and 50 year member of Clinton Council 47; 50 year member of DeMolay Commandery 9; a three time elected Worthy Patron of Tiffin Chapter 189 Order of Easter Star; Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite; Valley of Toledo and Seneca County Scottish Rite Assoc., Zenobia Shrine at Toledo and Tiffin; Crusaders Unit of Zenobia and was Associate Guardian of Tiffin Bethel 70 Jobs Daughters, and Associate Grand Guardian of Ohio for Jobs Daughters Bethel 70.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Hayward officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery in Tiffin.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 7 p.m.

Stephen R. Varney

Stephen R. Varney, 44, of 521 Circular St., Tiffin, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born May 17, 1957 in Middlesex, England to James E. and Brenda (Horne) Varney. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Tiffin. He married
Donna Bishop in Tiffin on Sept. 10, 1983 and she survives in Tiffin.
Survivors also include: three brothers, Raymond Varney of Nebraska, Robert Varney of Washington, and Jason Varney of Tiffin; and five sisters, Karen Tank and Sandra Ring, both of Tiffin; Carol Varney of Washington, Jane Leblanc of New York, and Paula Varney of N. C.
Mr. Varney was owner and operator of Steve's Scuba. He was a member of Terra Community College Alumni Assoc., American Legion; DAV; American Pool Players Assoc., Harley's Owners Group; Wheelchair Sports USA; Divers Alert Network; First Aid and CPR Instructor, Cal-deigo PVA; AAS in Law Enforcement and AAS in Marketing from Terra. He was a veteran of the Navy and served on the USS Independence, post Vietnam.
A memorial service will take place at a later date. The funeral will be in White Star Park in Gibsonburg.
There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin.

George S. Tucker Sr.
Fostoria resident
George S. "Big George" Tucker, Sr., 64, of Fostoria, died at 2:24 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001 at his home.
He was born Sept. 5, 1937, in Spartanburg, N.C., to Floyd and Evelyn (Rice) Tucker. Both are deceased. He married
Bernice LeGrant on June 2, 1958 in Winston Salem, N. C. and she survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: five sons, Patrick L. Tucker of Toledo, Ronnie J. Tucker, Michael S. Tucker, Sr., George S. Tucker, Jr., and Floyd A. Tucker, Sr., all of Fostoria, two daughters, Lavonia J. Moses and Evelyn D. Tucker, both of Winston Salem, N. C., a sister, Edna L. Imes of Fostoria; 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased include: two brothers, Willie and Horace Tucker; and a sister, Margaret Taylor.
Mr. Tucker was a laborer at General Dynamics in Lima for 27 years and retired in 1987. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fostoria.
Services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria. The Rev. Robert L. Lyons, Sr., will be the officiant. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery.
Visitation is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Charles E. Russell
Former Fostoria resident
Charles E. Russell, 71, of Elyria and formerly of Fostoria, died at 1:01 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, in Elyria Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 1, 1930, in Fostoria to Melvin and Ethel (Bell) Russell. Both are deceased. He married
Norma J. Frankart on June 2, 1951, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria and she survives in Elyria.
Survivors also include: a son, Craig E. Russell and a grandson.
Mr. Russell was a 1948 graduate of Jackson-Liberty High School and served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1951-55. He was employed with the Federal Aviation Administration in Detroit, Mich., from 1955-64, then was transferred to Oberlin where he worked from 1964 until his retirement in 1986.
He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria; National and Northern Ohio Thunderbirds Clubs; and an avid car enthusiast.
The rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. followed by services at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with a Christian Wake Service at 8:30 p.m.

Lia Sanders
Daughter/sister of Tiffin residents
Word has been received that Lia Sanders, 46, of Albuquerque, N.M., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001.
She is survived by: parents, Charles and Alice Sanders of 4600 E. CR 16, Tiffin; and her husband of two years, Bill Gude of Albuquerque.
Additional survivors include: four sisters Mrs. Rick (Mary) Baldwin of Tiffin; Julie Sanders of Toledo, Mrs. Scott (Janine) Rogerson of Sylvania; and Mrs. Bob (Diana) Trick of Springboro; four nieces and a nephew.
Her body was cremated.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are being handled by French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd., NE, Albuquerque, NM.
Paul A. Deck
Kenneth G. Myers Const. employee
Paul A. Deck, 47, of Vickery, died at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001 at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born Aug. 7, 1954 in Portsmouth to Paul M. and Peggy (Yates) Deck. They survive. His fiance, Brenda Lagrou also survives.
Survivors also include: a son, Brandon Deck, and a daughter, Allie E. Deck at home; a brother, William Deck and a sister Patricia Johnson, both of Green Springs.
Mr. Deck was employed for 23 with Kenneth G. Myers Construction Co. in Green Springs. He was a member of Green Springs American Legion and a 1973 graduate of Clyde High School.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs. The Rev. Jarred Williams will be the officiant. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Engle-Young Funeral Home in Green Springs.

Robert R. Boas

Robert R. Boas, 81, of Berkshire Drive in Fostoria, died at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct. 16, 1919 in Paulding to Fred and Louise (Jordan) Boas. They are deceased. He married
Jeanette Hummel on June 7, 1941, in Tiffin and she survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include a son, Thomas Boas of Brawley, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Sandra) Crosser of McComb; a brother, Walter Boas of Fostoria; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased include: a brother, Fred Boas Jr., and a sister, Edna Louise Bauman.
Mr. Boas had worked for Hummel Motor Sales in Fostoria. He retired in 1983 from Fostoria Industries. He was a World War II Army Veteran; a member of the High Street United Methodist Church in Fostoria, and a 1938 graduate of Jackson-Liberty High School. He also was a member of Fostoria Lodge 288 F & AM, Fostoria Chapter 94 Order of the Eastern Star.
The Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite will officiate services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery in Fostoria.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Charlie O. Brown Sr.
Arcadia resident
Charlie O. Brown Sr., 71, of West Peter St., Arcadia, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1930, in Bloomdale to the late Clarence and Alfie Rae (Richard) Brown. He married
Helen Heater on Jan. 13, 1949, in Bloomdale, and she survives in Arcadia.
Survivors also include: a son, Charlie Brown Jr. of Findlay; four daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Gayle) Margraf of Linton, Ind., Mrs. Jim (Teresa) Margraf of Arcadia, Mrs. Audie (Carol) McDonald of Findlay, Mrs. Gary (Sue) Hatlay of Fostoria; two brothers, Tom Brown of Upper Sandusky and Larry Brown of Arcadia; 13 grandchildern and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Joyce Ann Brown; two brothers, Wayne and Richard Brown; a sister, Joyce Dieter, and a grandchild.
Mr. Brown retired in 1992 from ADM with 39 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arcadia.
The Rev. David A. Bliss will conduct services at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arcadia. Burial will be in Weaver cemetery near Bloomdale.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.
