Earl Ickes
Relative of local residents
Earl W. Ickes, 79, of Gibsonburg, died Saturday, August, 25, 2001 at Memorial Hospital, Fremont.
He was born Aug. 23, 1921 to David and Ida (Mergenthalar) Ickes in Wyant, Pa., on March 25, 1941. He married
Beverly Binjker in Woodville and she died April 12, 1996.
Survivors include: two sons, Bud Ickes of Kansas, and Richard Ickes of Northwood; three daughters, Betty Conley of Russell Springs, Ky., and Jeanette Robinson and Nan Heath, both of Delta;
a sister, Goldie Bowers of Bradner, 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death include: a son, Robert and a daughter, Pamela Ickes; a brother, Forrest; and a sister, Ardella Sleek.
Mr. Ickes was a farmer and raised pheasants. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was wounded in Germany.
He was a member of the Gibsonburg American Legion.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Nopper-Veh Funeral Home in Gibsonburg. Burial will take place in West Union cemetery in Gibsonburg with military honors by the Gibsonburg American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the Gibsonburg American Legion.

Sister of Tiffin residents
Helen Topel, 68, of Mason, Ohio, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
Arrangements are pending with Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home in Tiffin.
Mary Alice Tanner
McCutchenville resident
Mary Alice Tanner, 80, of McCutchenville, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at her home.
She was born July 9, 1921, in Tiffin to the late James R. and Hazel E. (Herbert) Baker. She married
Walter E. Tanner on June 7, 1941 and he died March 30, 1986.
Survivors include: three sons, Stephan J. and Bradford J. Tanner both of Tiffin, and Mark E. Tanner of McCutchenville; three daughters, Mrs. Walt (Marsha) Drewes of Richland Springs, Texas; Mrs. Gary (Melissa) Coleman of Oceanport, N. J., and Mrs. Michael (Barbara) Fagan of Findlay; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Norman Baker of Sun City, Fla.
A brother, James R. Baker, Jr. is deceased.
Mrs. Tanner was a 1939 graduate of Columbian High School, a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of McCutchenville and a member of the Women's Guild of the church.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church in McCutchenville. The Rev. Roy Howell will be the officiant.
Burial will be in Bethel cemetery in McCutchenville.
Visitation is 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Her body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville, OH or a charity of the donor's choice.

Frances Marie (Diebley) Hitchings, 94, formerly of Arcadia, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Independence House in Fostoria.

Walter Willis
Willis Sweeper Repair owner
Walter G. Willis, 85, of Clyde, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at Arbors of Clyde.
He was born Dec. 24, 1915, in Cleveland, to the late Olo C. and Kathryn (Gottron) Willis. He married
Doris M. Setzler on Feb. 14, 1947 and she died Feb. 15, 1981.
Survivors include: a son, Timothy O. Willis of Clyde; three grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Mrs. Jack (Kay) Bass of Fremont.
Mr. Willis was a World War II veteran having served in the 148 Infantry Pacific Theater. He worked as an assembler at Whirlpool/CPS/Budix since 1936 and retired in 1981.
He was a member of Clyde Eagles, Clyde VFW, Bellevue American Legion, and owned and operated Willis Sweeper Repair Service. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1934.
Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde with the Rev. Richard Studabaker officiating. The Clyde VFW and Clyde American Legion will provide military graveside services.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Sandusky County Hospice.

Rose Ann Cinicola

Rose Ann Cinicola, 84, of Gibsonburg, died in her home Monday evening, August 28, 2001.
She was born Dec. 27, 1916, in Cleveland, to the late Anthony and Marian (Bombedi) Citriglia. She married
Michael Cinicola on July 4, 1938 in St. Michaels Church in Gibsonburg.
Deceased include: a brother, Carl Citriglia, two sisters, Mary Kozlok and Josephine Cipiti.
A Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Michaels Church in Gibsonburg. Burial will be in St. Lawrence cemetery in Gibsonburg.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, with a wake service Wednesday night.
The Nopper-Veh Funeral Home in Gibsonburg is in charge of arrangements.
John Mayfield
Brother of Tiffin resident
Word has been received of the death of John Mayfield of Golfport, Fla., on Aug. 23, 2001.
Survivors include his mother, Rosella and her husband, Vernon Holmquist of Akron; his wife, Shelley and son Adam of Golfport, Fla., five brothers, Blair Jr. and Scott, both of Akron, Harry of Berlin Center, Jim of Stow and Joe of Jacksonville, Fla., three sisters, Margaret Alpay of Tiffin and Janet Sheppard and Darla Thorpe, both of Akron.
His father, Blair Mayfield, Sr., is deceased.
Mr Mayfield attended Millheim Baptist Church in Akron, was a truck driver employed by Mayfield Truck Repair until 1999.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. today, at the Millheim Baptist Church, 2661 Hayne Road in Akron.

Robert E. Flack
Retired Bloomville Postmaster
Robert E. Flack, 86, of Bloomville, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 28, 2001, at Ruffing Family Care Center of Bloomville, following an extended illness.
He was born July 7, 1915 in Bloomville to Albert F. and Edith C. (Hunt) Flack. He married
Marcella Zellner on Nov. 5, 1947 in Newport, Ky., and she survives.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Kathy) Strausbaugh of Republic and Janice Dawson of Bloomville; and two grandchildren.
Decesaed is a brother, Ralph Flack, and a sister, Mary Jane McCool.
Mr. Flack was a World War II Army-Air Force Veteran and a life member of the Caulfield American Legion Post 434 in Bloomville. He attended the Republic United Church of Christ and was a 1934 graduate of Bloomville High School. He was a former charter president of the Bloomville Lions Club and an avid cardplayer and horse racing enthusiast.
He was the postmaster in Bloomville for 28 years and retired on Dec. 17, 1976.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home in Bloomville. The Rev. Jeffrey King will be the officiant. The United Veterans Council will conduct military services. Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery in Bloomville.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday.
Memorials may be made to the Republic UCC Church, the Tiffin Community YMCA, Kiwanis Manor Bus Fund, or to the Ruffing Family Care Center Activity Fund.
Jacquelin Boulboulle

Jacquelin "Jackie" Boulboulle, 71, of Glenwood Ave., died at 5:04 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2001, in St. Vincent/Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
She was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Fostoria to Myron L. and Velma I. (Traucht) Snyder. Both are deceased. She married
James E. Boulboulle July 17, 1949, in Fostoria, and he survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include a son, David Lee Boulboulle of Slidell, La., two daughters, Mrs. John (Lindsay Diane) Gilliland, and Mrs. Scott (Lori Ellen) Bulkowski, both of Fostoria; a sister, Mrs. Joretta Niswender of Columbus; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one step-grandson.
A grandson is also deceased.
Mrs. Boulboulle graduated in 1947 from Fostoria High School. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria. The Rev. Dr. Larry W. Knigga will be the officiant. Interment will be in Knollcrest Gardens in Arcadia.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

William J. Russell
H.J. Heinz Company retiree
William J. Russell, 72, of East Maple St., Clyde, died on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001 at Arbors of Clyde. He was born May 15, 1929 to Charles W. and Stella (Miller) Russell. On Feb. 12, 1961 he married
Betty E. Burks Schreck, and she survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Robert Schreck, Charles A. Russell and James W. Russell, all of Clyde: a daughter, Mrs. Connie (Schreck) McGrady of Clyde: a brother, Ray Russell of Clyde: and four grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Lemar Russell.
Mr. Russell was a lifetime resident of Clyde, he graduate in 1947 from York High School. He worked as a lead electrician at H.J. Heinz Company, retiring in 1991 and worked as a dairy farmer. Memberships include the First United Methodist Church in Clyde. His hobbies included mechanics and being a fix-it man.
The Rev. John Bailey will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday funeral service at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be at Ellsworth cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Irene L. Heilman
Retired School Teacher
Irene L. Heilman, 96, of Parkview Care Center, Fremont formerly of Old Fort, died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Parkview Care Center. She was born Dec. 24, 1904 in Old Fort to Albert and Anna (Blodgett) Henretty. On March 19, 1926 she married
Norman C. Heilman in Old Fort. He is deceased.
Surviving include: a son, Harry Heilman of Syracuse, N.Y.; five daughters, Mrs. Lois Christner of Wolcottville, Ind., Mrs. Margaret Faunce of Burgoon, Mrs. Jean Sprow of Toledo, Mrs. Beatrice Vallimont of Helena and Mrs. Joyce Brose of Fostoria: 26 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Deceased include: a brother, Ralph Henretty and a sister Mabel Stroll.
Mrs. Heilman a lifetime resident and graduate of Old Fort High School in 1921, graduate of Bowling Green University in 1924, she retired as a school teacher. She was a member of Old Fort United Methodist Church.
The Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs. Burial will be at Pleasant Union cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 7-9 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Word has been received of the death of Lesley Olga Bonner, 75, who died Monday Aug. 20, 2001, at her home in London, England.
Surviving are her husband, Alec; six children, Sean Bonner of Farnham, UK, Mrs. Gordon (Kieron) Corr-Wright of Tiffin, Mrs. David (Leslie) Henshaw of Highgate, UK, Andrew Bonner of Bromley, UK, Peter and Glen Bonner, both of Bishop's Stortford, UK; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
The services were Aug. 30 in St. Stephen Church in Dulwich, UK.
Burial following in Grove Park, Bromley, UK.

Word has been received of the death of Rebecca (Kroetz) Daters who died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, in Little Rock, Ark.
She is survived by her parents Dr. Frank and Rose (Saxion) Kroetz, formerly of Ft. Seneca; her husband, Tim Daters; two sons, Andy and Adam; and a daughter, Elizabeth.
Visitation will be Monday at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark.
