Marshia J. Elchert, 62, of 60 N. SR 101, Lot 146, Tiffin, died at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin. She was born March 27, 1939 in Fostoria to Wilbur and Mary Elizabeth (McGuire) Huth. They are deceased. On July 13, 1957 she married
Charles R. "Bump" Elchert, and he survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Richard Elchert of Tiffin; four daughters, Mrs. Diane Tiell, Mrs. Helena Woelke, and Mrs. Sharon Conley, all of Tiffin, and Mrs. Beth Dell of New Riegel; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Deceased are: a son, Edmund Ley Elchert; a brother, Charles Huth; and a sister, Marilyn Petit.
Mrs. Elchert was a 1957 graduate of St. Wendelin High School in Fostoria. She was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The Rev. James Say will officiate the 11 a.m. Saturday Funeral Mass to be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., tonight, at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home in Tiffin. The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Funeral Mass.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care and/or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Wilbur D. Shaull

Wilbur D. Shaull, 84, of 342 Ninth Ave., Tiffin, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, April 8, 2001 at his home. He was born March 27, 1916 in rural New Riegel to William D. and Rose (Kimmet) Shaull. On July 28, 1938 he married
Marguerite G. Snyder in St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, and she survives.
Deceased are: a son, William D. Shaull; and two sisters, Genevieve Yates and Zenith Hiser.
Mr. Shaull retired from the Tiffin office of the U.S. Postal Service. A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; VFW; AmVets; Eagles and Moose Lodge, all of Tiffin.
The Rev. Frank Murd will officiate the 10 a.m. Saturday graveside service at St. Joseph cemetery, Tiffin, where a Military Service will be held by the United Veterans Council.
James L. Moyer
General Motors retiree
James L. Moyer, 63, of Willard West Rd., Willard, died Thursday morning, May 31, 2001 at his home. He had been ill the past 4 months with cancer. Mr. Moyer was born June 17, 1937. He was employed at General Motors in Mansfield as a press operator until retiring in 1993.
The Rev. Kent Wilson of the Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate the 1 p.m. Monday funeral services at Lindsey-Kocher Funeral service, 323 Myrtle Ave., Willard.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

John Edward Chinell

John Edward Chinell, 70, of 11 Ash St., died Thursday, May 31, 2001, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
Mr. Chinell was born Aug. 14, 1930, in Attica to Edward E. and Nova B. (McKibben) Chinell. On Dec. 23, 1950, he married
Doris Pauline Shofstahl at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Tiffin.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include: two daughters, Doris Elaine Chinell and Janice Diane Chinell of Tiffin; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth L. Lutz of Attica.
Two brothers, Charles R. and Gail H. Chinell; and a sister, Dessa Taylor are deceased.
He was a 1949 graduate of Attica High School; served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, 1950-54; engineering checker at Armstrong Air Conditioning and at Webster Manufacturing; in sales and engineering at Tiffin Art Metal; member of St. Johns United Church of Christ where he served as past council member, teacher, superintendent, financial secretary and elder on church council; and was active with FISH of Tiffin.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with the Rev. David M. Culp officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens where military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Sunday and 10-11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Jerome A. Wolfe
Railroad retiree
Jerome "Jerry" A. Wolfe, 73, of 2760 CR 9, Sycamore, died at 10:43 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2001, at his residence.
He was born June 20, 1927, to Albert W. and Gladys (Bresler) Wolfe in Logansport, Ind. He married
Jean McConnell Jan. 1, 1948; and she survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, James R. and Glenn A. of Sycamore; three daughters, Charleen Wolfe of Sycamore, Mrs. Richard (Alice) Weiland-Martin of Avon, and Mrs. Dennis (Elizabeth) Ferguson of Findlay; eight grandchildren; a step-grandson; two great-grandchildren; and a step-great-granddaughter.
A sister, Ann Vegara, is deceased.
He was a 1945 graduate of Bellevue High School; served in the U.S. Army during World War II; retired as a railroad switchman in 1986 after 39 years with Nickel Plate Railroad; member of Sycamore United Church of Christ, Sycamore American Legion Post #250, Mohawk Historical Society, Seneca County Historical Society, Hayes Memorial of Fremont, Lyme Village Historic Society, Nickel Plate Mad River Society of Bellevue, Car Coddler Auto Club of Sandusky, and Penn-Ohio Model A Club, Shelman Chapter.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Sycamore United Church of Christ. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation is one hour prior to the memorial service.

Allison Nicole Nye-Stahl
Stillborn infant
Allison Nicole Nye-Stahl, the stillborn infant of Richard Stahl Sr. of West Millgrove and Carol Holland of Fostoria, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2001, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
Other survivors include: maternal grandparents Raymond and Sue Nye of Fostoria; maternal great-grandparents Carl and Martha Shank of Fostoria; paternal grandparents, Fred and Helen Stahl of Bradner; three brothers, Richard Stahl Jr. of Helena, Lucas and Aaron Stahl of Fostoria; and four sisters, Katie Stahl of Helena, Brittany, Breanna and Carol Holland of Fostoria.
A brother, Nicholas Stahl; and a sister, Chris Stahl are deceased.
There will be private funeral services and no visitation.

James L. Moyer

James L. Moyer, 63, of Willard West Rd., Willard, died Thursday morning, May 31, 2001, at his home. He had been ill for the past four months with cancer.
Mr. Moyer was born June 17, 1937, in Centerton to Ernest and Mildred (Brikel) Moyer. He married
Gerry Ritz Sept. 17, 1988, and she survives. Also surviving are: two sons, Ron Robison of Norwalk and Jeff Robison of Clearwater, Fla.; two daughters, Norma Hicks of Norwalk and Becky Isaac of Willard; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Moyer of Willard; and several nephews and nieces.
Deceased are his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Moyer; and a sister, Leona.
He was a New Haven School graduate; served in the U.S. Army; employed at General Motors in Mansfield as a press operator until retiring in 1993; a member of the Moose Lodge #2153, Willard; golfed in the Tuesday Evening Golf League at Woody Ridge; and loved his dogs.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, 323 Myrtle Ave., Willard, with the Rev. Kent Wilson of the Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Dolores M. 'Dodie' Bean

Dolores M. "Dodie" Bean, 64, of 2112 S. SR 231, died Friday, June 1, 2001, in her home.
She was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Fremont, to Leo S. and Pearl S. (Swaintz) Dolweck. They preceded her in death. On Nov. 20, 1954, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin, she married
Willis Bean, and he survives in Tiffin.
Survivors also include: two sons, Robert W. and Brian T. Bean, both of Tiffin; three daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Belinda S.) Monaco and Vicki L. Stover, both of Tiffin, and Mrs. Darren (Kelly A.) Monak of Vickery; a brother, Robert Dolweck of Fremont; and seven grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Margaret "Marge" Humburg.
Mrs. Bean was a homemaker and member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
A Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic
Church with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating. A rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. A wake service will be at 3:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Community Hospice Care, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor's choice.
Alice M. Screptock

Alice M. Screptock, 81, of East Thompson Drive, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at her residence.
She was born on Nov. 29, 1919, in Lorain to Thomas and Mae (Hamilton) Benson. Her husband, Michael Screptock, preceded her in death.
Survivors include: a son, Bruce Reed of Fremont; two daughters, Mrs. Gerhard (Janice) Ranzenberger and Mrs. Larry (Barb) Kollat, both of Clyde; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Thomas Benson, and two sisters, Esther Wesley and Pearl Johnson.
Mrs. Screptock graduated from Lorain High School in 1937 and was employed at Whirlpool Cafe as head cook.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde, with the Rev. Rodney Shaull officiating. Burial will be in McPherson cemetery in Clyde.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Dan H. Ziegman

Dan H. Ziegman, 64, of Courtly Road, Fostoria, died at 2:27 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2001, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born Oct. 3, 1936, in Fostoria, to Richard G. and Alma (Vanderhorst) Ziegman, and both are deceased. On Oct. 28,1961, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, he married
Dianne E. Walker, and she died March 29, 2001.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Amy) Stephens of Genoa and Mrs. James (Beth) Reed of Findlay; two brothers, Richard Ziegman of Tempe, Ariz., and Jack Ziegman of Fostoria; and five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Myron Ziegman, and two sisters, Mary Hoffman and Jane Magers.
Mr. Ziegman was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, a third and former fourth degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1197, Bureau of Concern, and the Elks Lodge 935, all of Fostoria. Additionally, he was a member of the RCIA Team, Marriage Encounter, Cursillo, and Eucharistic Minister, all of St. Wendelin Parish.
He was a 1954 graduate of St. Wendelin High School and earned a bachelor's degree in 1985 from Tiffin University.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the rosary recited at 10 a.m. in St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Fostoria, with the rosary to be recited at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society in Fostoria or St. Wendelin Schools Educational Foundation.
Thelma Virginia Wagner
New Riegel resident
Thelma Virginia Wagner, 79, of 5241 S. SR 587, New Riegel, died Saturday morning, June 2, 2001, at her residence.
She was born March 1, 1922, in Tiffin, to Peter and Minnie (Williams) Welter, and both are deceased. On Feb. 8, 1947, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, she married
Ray Wagner, and he survives.
Survivors also include: four sons, David Wagner of Tiffin, Dennis Wagner of Lancaster, Peter and Dan Wagner, both of New Riegel; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were: a brother, Karl Welter; three sisters, Lucille Welter, Ruth Spitler and Helen Sager.
Mrs. Wagner was a 1940 graduate of Columbian High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Riegel.
A Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with the Rev. Harry Cavanaugh presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may made to American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
Ray E. Houdeshell
Retired auto mechanic
Ray E. Houdeshell, 73, of 292 Washington St., Sycamore, died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2001, at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born April 18, 1928, in Wyandot County to Edward and Goldie (Swaney) Houdeshell. On July 16, 1950, he married
Wanda J. (Solze) and she survives.
Survivors also include: sons, Terry S. Houdeshell of Tiffin, and Thomas R. Houdeshell of Lexington, N.C.; daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Kay) Mauder of Wading River, N.Y., Mrs. Donald (Vicki) Albrecht of Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. Albert (Judy) Domrose of Columbus; a brother, Donald Houdeshell of Republic; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Kline of Fremont, and Mrs. Max (Maggie) Poston, of Sycamore; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Preceding him in death is a sister, Marie Modzel.
Mr. Houdeshell retired as an auto mechanic having worked 39 years at John Neate and 10 years at Crow Motors of Upper Sandusky. He also retired as a farmer.
He was a member of Our Masters Chapel in Benton, Ohio, the Sheriff's Auxiliary, as well as a 1948 graduate of McCutchenville High School.
Services will take place at 4 p.m., Tuesday, at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore, with the Rev. Charles McGlone officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery in Sycamore.
Visitation is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Wyandot County or the American Cancer Society.
