Freda M. Hunter
Former legal secretary
Freda M. Hunter, 91, of 445 Parkview Dr., Upper Sandusky, died at 5 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2001, in the Fairhaven Health Care Community, Upper Sandusky.
She was born July 18, 1909, in Upper Sandusky, to Fred F. and Bertha M. (Moser) Walton. She married
William J. Hunter on Aug. 20, 1932, in Grayson, Ky. He died Dec. 16, 1983.
Survivors include: a son, Judge John G. Hunter of Upper Sandusky; two daughters, Mrs. Richard L. (Ann) Senff of Cotopaxi, Colo., and Mrs. Daryl (Lynn) Gerber of Upper Sandusky; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also deceased are: a grandson, David Senff; and three sisters, Beulah I. Brott, Esther Swain and a sister who died in infancy.
Mrs. Hunter graduated in 1926 from Upper Sandusky High School; attended business college in Cleveland; was a homemaker; a legal secretary for 25 years for her late husband; member of First Presbyterian Church for over 60 years; former Sunday school teacher; enjoyed politics and was a life-long member of the Democratic Party; also enjoyed playing bridge, reading, cooking and knitting.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Kenneth Wessler officiating and burial in Old Mission cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Fr. Rocco Cosentino
Former Seneca County pastor
Fr. Rocco Cosentino CPPS, 73, died Thursday, April 25, 2001.
He was born to James and Angeline (DiEramo) Cosentino in Niles. Survivors include a sister, Carmella Cosentino Reed of Niles; a nephew, James Reed; and a niece, Carol Ann Reed.
He was ordained a priest, as a Missionary of the Precious Blood in 1954; and after serving several years in Columbus and Piqua, from 1960 to 1969 he served as a missionary in Chile, South America. He spoke both Italian and Spanish fluently, using this linguistic skill in various parishes and in recent years at the ethnic days of the Sorrowful Mother Shrine. From 1993 until 1996, he served in Seneca County as pastor of a three-parish cluster which included St. Michael Church, Assumption and St. Sebastian, all of which are within a few miles of the Sorrowful Mother Shrine where he served as an associate from 1996 until illness forced his retirement in January of 2000.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the cemetery at St. Charles, Carthagena, Ohio.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at St. Charles Center, Carthagena.
Stella K. Carver
Area residents' sister
Stella K. Carver died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at the Regional Hospital in Seattle, Wash.
She was born on March 2, 1923, in Republic to Charles and Christine Kramer. Survivors include: two sons, Robert Carver of Sandusky, and Jim Carver of Port Orchard, Wash.; a brother, Tom Kramer of New Riegel; five sisters, Mary Miller of Tiffin, Doris Roepke of Castro Valley, Calif., Joanne Stransky and Stephanie Rodriquez of Houston, Texas, and Alice Engle of Nanuet, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.
Deceased are: a brother, Fred Kramer of Tiffin; and a sister, Lois Baltz of Seattle, Wash.
She worked for the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Akron from 1965-1982; was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Firestone Park; moved to Sandusky where she worked at the Plum Brook Golf Shop and was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church; she moved to Seattle in 1996; was a seamstress; enjoyed life, gardening, baking and dancing.
A memorial service at this time has not been planned.
Grover L. Leopold
Former Tiffin resident/ WWII Veteran
Grover L. Leopold, 79, of Venice, Fla., died at 10:03 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1921, in Orrville, to Harry L. and Louva (Moreland) Leopold. His first wife Marjorie I. (Mohr) Leopold is deceased. On Oct. 9, 1982 he married
Marian (Bonnie Schwab) of Venice, Fla, and she survives.
Survivors also include a son, Gregory D. Leopold of Tiffin; a step son, Frank Schwab of Milan; a step daughter, Kaye Arkangel of Parma; two grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
Deceased are; a brother, Robert Leopold; and a half brother, Eugene Smith.
Mr. Leopold, a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran, served as flight engineer of B17's and B29's operating in the Pacific Theatre during the war. He later served as a deputy for the Seneca County Sheriff's Department under former Sheriff George Steinmetz. He was employed as an auditor with the Ohio Dept. of Motor Vehicles and retired, relocating to Venice, Fla.
He graduated from Columbian High School and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Tiffin, and Christ United Methodist Church in Venice, Fla. Additionally, he was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling. A former member of the Tiffin Elks Cub, he was also a member of the United Commercial Travelers and the Masonic Order.
Private family services will take place at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home with the Rev. Gail Angel officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn cemetery in Tiffin with graveside services performed by the United Veteran's Council.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Tiffin, Christ United Methodist Church in Venice, Fla., or to the Tiffin Columbian High School Football Department.
Mary K. Margraf
Upper Sandusky resident
Mary K. Margraf, 83, of Wyandot County Nursing Home in Upper Sandusky, died at 9:30 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2001 in the nursing home.
She was born on January 21, 1918, in Salem Township, Wyandot County, to Hiram and Zona (Tracy) Krebs. On Sept. 5, 1950, she married
William Michael Margraf. He died March 19, 1972.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Tucker of Upper Sandusky; and three grandchildren.
Deceased include her parents and a sister, Alice Trautwein.
Mrs. Margraf, a 1936 high school graduate, was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky for many years; a member of the Women's Guild, (having served on the consistory), and a member of the Wyandot County Senior Citizens. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, and vegetable gardening.
Services will take place 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Charles Preston officiating. Burial will be in the Old Mission cemetery in Upper Sandusky.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Clifford L. Campbell
Father of Tiffin resident
Clifford L. Campbell, 93, of 5356 Baer Rd., Morral, Ohio, died at 10:25 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2001, in Marion General Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 27, 1908, in Prairie Twp., Morral, Ohio, to Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Campbell. On June 1, 1929, he married
Thelma E. Turney. She died on Aug. 20, 1988.
Survivors include a son, Dallas Campbell of Morral; a daughter, Mrs. William (Julia) Barger of Tiffin; a sister, Mrs. Mary Rae of Marion; 6 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 17 great-grand children ; 9 step great-grandchildren; and 1 step-great great grandchild.
Deceased include a grandchild.
Mr. Campbell raised and bred Suffolk Sheep, raised and showed Quarter Horses; and sold cars for Key and Inskeep Auto Sales in Marion. He served as Grand Prairie Twp. Trustee; clerked livestock and household auctions; managed a Findlay meat processing plant; and was a Notary Public.
He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Marion and a member of Marion County Senior Citizens, and the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, at the Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Burial will take place in the Grand Prairie cemetery in Brush Ridge.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Darrel F. Ekleberry
Tiffin resident
Darrel F. Ekleberry, 86, of 334 Clinton Avenue, died at 2:40 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Elmwood Nursing Home in Green Springs, where he resided since early April.
He was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Seneca County, to Roy and Jennie (Valentine) Ekleberry. On July 7, 1938, he married
Mary Kathryn Zimmerman. She died July 16, 1999.
Survivors include: a son, Marvin Ekleberry of Florida; two daughters, Joan Delp of Bradenton, Fla., and Helen Eaton of Republic; three sisters, Helen Bates of Wakeman, Georgiana Heffner of Toledo, and Roslyn Hardin of Dayton; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, William, Hollis, Allen and Pauly Ekleberry; and three sisters, Alice Schmidt, Edith Gill, and Doris Howard.
Mr. Ekleberry, a member of the Community United Church of Christ in Ft. Seneca, was a retired farmer and retired from his antique dealership of 46 years.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home, in Tiffin, with the Rev. Albert Schwenke officiating. Burial will take place in the Pleasant Union cemetery in Old Fort.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
Michelle K. LaFountaine-Adams
Arcadia resident
Michelle K. LaFountaine-Adams, 41, of Arcadia, died at 4:50 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2001, at her mother's home in Fostoria.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1960, in Fostoria, to Richard and Jane (Siegchrist) LaFountaine. On Nov. 24, 1979, she married
Tod Correll, and they divorced. On Dec. 31, 1997. She then married
Scott Adams, and he survives.
Survivors also include: her mother and step father, Jane and Robert Fishpaw of Fostoria, three sons, Nicholas Correll of Bowling Green, and Adam and Zachary, both of Arcadia; a daughter, Laura Correll of Fostoria; four sisters, Mrs. Alan (Renee) Theis of Lake Forest, Calif., Mrs. Greg (Nadine) Schreiner, Stacy LaFountaine, both of Fostoria, and Mrs. Scott (Cara) Nighswander of Toledo.
Deceased are her father, Richard LaFountaine.
Mrs. Adams was a sales associate at Readmore Gifts in Fostoria. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, and a 1978 graduate of Arcadia High School.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Knollcrest cemetery near Arcadia.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m., Monday, at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria, with an 8:30 p.m. scripture service.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Darla J. Smith
Attica resident
Darla J. Smith, 63, of 2740 SR 4 South, Attica, died at 10:06 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2001, at Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard. She was born May 2, 1937, in Siam, Ohio, to the late Earl R. "Punk" and Ruth (Lemmon) Wilson. She was formerly married
to Robert Wagner, then to Charles T. Smith who survives.
Survivors include: four daughters, Sandra Wagner of Attica, Mrs. John (Patricia) Shafer of Willard, Mrs. Todd (Barbara) Craig of Tiffin, and Mrs. Jeff (Kathy) Wold of Attica; a brother, Ronald "Sonny" Wilson of Attica; and four grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Kenneth Wilson.
Mrs. Smith was a 1955 graduate of Attica High School, a member of the First Baptist Church in Attica, and retired from Midwest Industries in Willard.
Services will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 1295 W . Tiffin, St., in Attica with the Rev. David Mills of the First Christian Church of Tiffin officiating. Burial will be in the Attica-Venice Twp. cemetery in Attica.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Charles E. Miracle
Korean War veteran
Charles E. "Curley" Miracle, 68, of 288 Noble St., died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2001, in Tiffin.
He was born Sept. 12, 1932, in Pineville, Ky., to James and Sarah E. Golden. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Tiffin. On June 15, 1957, in Tiffin, he married
Ruth A. Doll, and she survives in Tiffin.
Survivors also include: three sons, Lynn C., Scott E., and Brian L. Miracle, all of Tiffin; a brother, Raymond Cheek; and three grandchildren.
Also deceased is a brother, John Hill.
Mr. Miracle was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from C.W. Kerschner Moving and Storage in Tiffin and AmeriSource in Toledo. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tiffin and a lifetime member of Tiffin AMVETS and VFW Post 2858.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin. The Rev. Al Wilkes will be the officiant. Burial, with graveside services conducted by the United Veterans Council, will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Seneca County Cancer Society or Community Hospice.
Cecil L. Banks
GE retiree/Jr. Home Kid
Cecil L. Banks, 81, of 93 Adams St., died at 2:37 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2001, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born Dec. 12, 1919, in Canton, N.C., to Elmore and Lillie (Guffey) Banks. On July 18, 1969, in Tiffin, he married
Patricia "Patty" Ann Drew, and she survives.
Survivors also include: a brother, James C. Banks of Findlay, and a sister, Mildred "Midi" Aites of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Mr. Banks assisted in building the Tiffin G.E. plant in 1945 and became an employee for 40 years, retiring in 1985. He was a Jr. Home Kid since the age of 10, coming to Tiffin in 1930 to the JOUAM Children's Home.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tiffin.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Tiffin. The Rev. Al Wilkes will be the officiant. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation is one-half hour prior to the memorial service Thursday at the church.
