Rose Marie Alley

Rose Marie Nighswander - Alley, 84, of S. Countyline St., Fostoria, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2001, at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo.
She was born Oct. 3, 1916, in Coldwater, Mich., to Fred and Edith (Moon) Shuman. On April 7, 1933, in Fostoria, she married
Cloyd Niswander. He died Nov. 25, 1965. On Aug. 9, 1969, in Fostoria, she married
Ralph "Peck" Alley, and he survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Irvan "Bud", Doug and Jerry Niswander, all of Fostoria; a step-son, Gerald Alley of Ontario, Canada; a brother, Fred Shuman, of Crossville, Tenn., three sisters, Freda Brooks and Thelma Stiger, both of Fostoria, and Arlene Cooper of Bascom; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are: a son, Michael Niswander; a step-son, Michael Alley; two brothers, Richard and Walter Shuman; a sister, Doris Seel; and one grandchild.
Mrs. Alley, a homemaker, retired in 1976 from Bendix, and was a member of the Fostoria Baptist Church in Fostoria.
Services will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria, with the Rev. David Chapman officiating. Burial will be in the Fountain cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Fostoria Red Cross.
James B. Stiltner
Clyde resident
James B. Stiltner, 63, of Duane St., Clyde, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Medical College of Ohio.
He was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Grundy, Va., to Enoch and Mary Ellen (Cleavinger) Stiltner. They are deceased. His wife, Clara (Keysor) Stiltner survives.
Survivors also include: two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Melba) Harmon of Clyde, and Mrs. Harold (Sue) Lockhart, of Ga.
Deceased are: brothers, Edward and Jack Stiltner; two sisters, Mable Hurley and Weatha Margaret Young and two infant brothers, Ernest and Ralph Stiltner.
Mr. Stiltner, a member of the Adams Township Freewill Baptist Church, was a press operator for Singer Controls until 1984.
Services will take place 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the Adams Township Freewill Baptist Church in Green Springs, with the Rev. Paul Tyree officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde.

Madeline Keith
Mother of local residents
Madeline Keith, 71, of CR 268, Vickery, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at her residence.
She was born on July 27, 1929, in McClure, Va., to William and Priscella (Yates) Large, they are deceased. On Sept. 18, 1946, she married
Harold R. Keith, and he survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, H. Wayne Keith of Mansfield, Rudy Keith of Bellevue, R. C. Keith of Clyde, and Kenneth Keith of Bellevue; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Sabra) Cummins of Bellevue, Lisa Keith of Fremont, and Mrs. Chuck (Shari) Solander of South Monroeville; a brother, Gerald Large of Clintwood, Va., three sisters, Faye Sadler of Cooksville, Tenn., Jewel Rakes of Piney Flats, Tenn., and Joan Kiser of Sandusky; 18 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Keith was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Clyde, and was employed with the Ohio Turnpike and the Margaretta Schools (Townsend) cafeteria.
Services will take place at 1:30 p.m., Friday, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde, with the Rev. Gerald Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Parkhurst cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, in the funeral home.

Martha D. Hope
Former Tiffin teacher
Martha D. Hope, formerly of Tiffin, died unexpectedly,Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Presbyterian Homes of Evanston, Ill.
She was born May 19, 1913, in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., to Richard Floyd and Helen (Colvin) Darsie. On June 19, 1943, she married
Benjamin B. Hope in Plain Grove, Pa. He died March 3, 1990.
Survivors are three daughters, Ann H. James, of Northbrook, Ill., Ellen D. Hope of New York City, and Elizabeth H. Tallmadge of Glen Ridge, NJ; two brothers, Richard Darsie of Vero Beach, Fla., and James Darsie of Groves, Texas; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Hope was a math teacher at both Calvert High School and East Jr. High School as well as coached girl's basketball at East. She was a board member of the Tiffin Community Y.M.C.A. and the Ohio State Y.W.C.A. Active in Tiffin community organizations, she was a founding member of Tiffin Chapter of A.F.S. and hosted two students; an elder at First Presbyterian Church; a Girl Scout leader, member of Panhellenic Council, and the women's organizations at Heidelberg College.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m., April 30, at the First Presbyterian Church, in Tiffin, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Funeral Service will be April 28 in Plain Grove, Pa.

Alden Baker
WWII Navy veteran
Alden Baker, 74, of 126 N. Monroe St., died at 6:35 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center of Toledo.
He was born on March 1, 1927, in Republic, to Joseph M. and Mary (Hansberger) Baker. On Dec. 4, 1946, in Dunkirk, he married
Blanche Lloyd, and she survives.
Survivors also include: two sons, Herbert Baker of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Rick Baker of Tiffin; four daughters, Mrs. Stacy (Susan) Feller, Mrs. Nicholas (Kathy) Elchert, and Mrs. Rick (Patty) Kauffman, all of Tiffin, and Mrs. Steve (Tracy) Haughawout of Bloomdale; a brother, Harold Baker of Tiffin; a sister, Mrs. Vern (Gloria) Kinn of Fostoria; and 11 grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Stanley and Burdette Baker.
Mr. Baker, owned and operated Alden Baker Trucking for over 50 years. He had also worked for Huber Trucking in Tiffin and Craun Trucking in Bettsville. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 169 in Tiffin.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Puget Sound, and was awarded the Victory Ribbon for WWII, the American Area Ribbon, and the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon.
Services will take place, 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jan Kucera officiating.
Entombment will be in the Seneca Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Tiffin, with Military Rites performed by the United Veterans Council.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent Medical Center Palliative Care Unit; Cleveland Clinic Foundation; or Tiffin Mercy Hospital Emergency Care Center.
Helen Fay Beam
Retired Registered nurse
Helen Fay Beam, 86, of 36 Heilman St., Tiffin, died on Thursday, April 26, 2001 following a brief illness in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin. She was born Feb. 28, 1915 to Charles and Mary (McGill Adams) Finch. On July 20, 1940 she married
James R. Beam, and he survives.
Also surviving include: a son, George Albert Beam of Tiffin; a daughter, Susan Kay Vaughn of Snyder, N.Y.; a sister, Katherine Bobel of Gallipolis; and three grandchildren.
Deceased are: two infant brothers; and a sister, Doris Porter.
Mrs. Beam was a graduate of Bowling Green High School and Flower Hospital School of Nursing in 1938. She worked as a Registered nurse for 10 years at the Seneca County Health Department. Her memberships included: Charter member Professional Registered Nurses Club; Trinity United Church of Christ; Trinity UCC Mother's Circle and Trinity Twosomes; and Order of Eastern Star Tiffin Chapter 189.
The Rev. William Smith will officiate the 11 a.m. Monday memorial service at Trinity United Church of Christ, the public is welcome. A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn cemetery.
There are no visitation hours. Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Fredrick L. Nagel, Sr.
Attica resident
Fredrick L. Nagel, Sr., 88, of 23 Lemmon St., Attica, died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at the Willard Health Care Center. He was born Jan. 9, 1913 to George E. and Gertrude C. (Weiseman) Nagel. His wife, Evelyn (King) Nagel survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Fredrick Nagel, Jr. of Attica; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Predieri and Mrs. Anita Thompson, both of Attica; a sister, Mary E. Johnson of Shelby; eight grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
Deceased are: a grandchild; two sisters and a brother.
Mr. Nagel retired from Delphi Division of General Motors, Sandusky. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Attica, an avid fisherman and hunter of small game.
The private family funeral services will be held on Saturday at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service in Attica with The Rev. Malcolm Brook officiating. Burial will be at Attica-Venice Township cemetery.

Jeffrey G. Brown
Venice Township Clerk
Jeffrey G. Brown, 49, of Attica, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at his home. He was born Oct. 5, 1951 in Willard to Gordon O. Brown, who is deceased, and Clara E. (Huffman) Brown of Attica, she survives. On Nov. 24, 1989 he married
Judy Aichholz and she survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Bobbie Bogner of home; two daughters, Dr. Rhonda Werner of Savannah, GA. and Dawn Bogner of Attica; and a brother, Randall Brown of Attica.
Mr. Brown was a bus mechanic for the Seneca East Schools and Venice Township clerk. His memberships included: Seneca County Township Association; clerk of the Attica-Venice Township cemetery, the Attica Volunteer Fire Department serving as the department's clerk for 25 years.
The Rev. James L. Barkenquast of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church will officiate the 11 a.m. Monday funeral service at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service in Attica.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Annabel Horner
School teacher
Annabel Horner, 84, of 1302 North Drive, Risingsun, died at 12:55 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. She was born Aug. 8, 1916 to Noble and Gail (Forriter) Loe. On Oct. 1, 1938 she married
Alvin B. Horner. He died on Dec. 3, 1984.
Surviving include: a daughter, Mrs. Karis Matz of Risingsun and a grandson, Joshua T. Matz of Woodville.
Mrs. Horner was a public school teacher for 26 years and taught piano. Her memberships included: High St. United Methodist Church, Fostoria and its Bereans and Pathfinders; Lay Reader at Church; Past president of Alpha Sigma Chapter of Delta Gamma Kappa; 50 year member Silver Star Circle of Kings Daughters and a Jennings Scholar.
The Rev. Jeffrey Waite will officiate the 10 a.m. Saturday funeral service at High Street United Methodist Church in Fostoria. Burial will be at Fountain cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., tonight, at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria. Delta Kappa Gamma Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. at the funeral home today.

Albert H. Thomas

Albert H. Thomas, 82, of 140 W. Sixth St., Fostoria, died at 10:57 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001 at St. Catherine Care Center, Fostoria. He was born July 12, 1918 to Albert and Gertrude (Hammer) Thomas. On Nov. 7, 1940 he married
Kentha K. Ewing in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, and she survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Kent A. Thomas of Mt. Sterling and Keith K. Thomas of Fairfield; a daughter, Mrs. Anne Steyer of Defiance; a brother, Richard Thomas of Findlay; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Deceased are: three brothers, Charles, Robert and Gerald Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a WW II U.S. Navy Veteran, he retired in 1981 as a tool and die maker from Excello Corporation after 30 years of employment. His memberships included: St. Wendelin Catholic Church; The Knights of Columbus Council 1197, Third degree, where he had served as past treasurer for many years; and American Legion Post 73, all of Fostoria.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial will be at Fountain cemetery, where the United Veterans Council of Fostoria will conduct military graveside services.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home. A Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Frances I. Buckley

Frances I. Buckley, 84, of 390 S. Monroe St., died at 10:55 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Autumnwood Care Center.
She was born Feb. 3, 1917, in Hammondsburg to Charles Clyde and Mary (Mulford) Doyle. She married
George W. Keller on Jan. 30, 1943, in North Baltimore. He died July 11, 1972. She then married
George E. Buckley, Jr. on Sept. 14, 1979, and he survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Ronald W. Keller of Tiffin; a step-son, George E. Buckley, III of Redlands, Calif.; two step-daughters, Deborah Fariseo of Maui, Hawaii, and Pamela Jones of Napa Valley, Calif.; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are: a brother, Carl E. Doyle; and a sister, Emma Leah Patterson.
Mrs. Buckley graduated from North Baltimore High School and the Dental Technical School in Columbus; was a homemaker; a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rosary Altar Society, the Daughters of Isabella and the Parkinsons Support Group.
A Rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. with the Msgr. Edward Dunn officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph School Library or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Marsha F. Andrezejewski
Fostoria residents' sister
Marsha F. Andrezejewski, 44, of Hilton Avenue, Findlay, died at 3:45 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2001, in the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born July 12, 1956, in Fostoria to Ralph and Stella P. (Davis) Hook. She married
James K. Andrezejewski, Jr. on July 17, 1989, in Fostoria and he survives.
Other survivors include: her mother; a son, Michael M. Chevalier of Toledo; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Tenaya) K. Hayes of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; three brothers, Robert Davis, Rick and Donald Hook, all of Fostoria; two sisters, Peggy Pierce and Kathy Hook, both of Fostoria; and two grandchildren.
Her father; a son, Jason E. Chevalier; and a sister, Janet Mitchell are deceased.
She was a 1974 graduate of Fostoria High School; a homemaker; and attended Faith Tabernacle Church in Fostoria.
Services will be at noon today at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Donald Goodwin and the Rev. James Menke officiating. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
