Ruth Lucille Harbour
Upper Sandusky resident

Ruth Lucille Harbour, 79, of 520 Church St., Upper Sandusky, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at her home. She was born on April 24, 1921 to William and Wilma (McPike) Hannum. On Dec. 30, 1939 she married C. Roy Harbour, and he survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Ronald, Robert D. and Richard C. Harbour, all of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Savidge of Upper Sandusky; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.

Deceased are: two grandchildren and her grandparents, John and Myrtle McPike, who raised her.

Mrs. Harbour graduated in the Class of 1939 at Sycamore High School. A homemaker and bookkeeper she worked as a former reporter for the former Daily Chief and Marion Star Newspapers. She was a member and former secretary of the former Belle Vernon Evangelical United Brethren Church where she was also a Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Teacher; Sycamore United Church of Christ, where she was also a Sunday School teacher; former Sycamore Enterprise Chapter Order of Eastern Star, where she was past Worthy Matron and served 10 years as treasurer; Warpole Chapter Order of Eastern Star 366, Upper Sandusky; Dendarah 10 Court of the Ladies Shrine, Toledo. She enjoyed flowers, quilting and needlework.

The Rev. Julianne Smith will officiate the 11 a.m. Saturday funeral service at the Bringman Clark & Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge cemetery, Sycamore.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County and/or First Lutheran Church of Upper Sandusky, c/o the funeral home, P.O.Box 246, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.

Alexander Albert Mills
4 -year -old son

Alexander Albert Mills, 4, of Sandusky CR 195, Clyde, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2001 in St. Vincent Mercy Children's Hospital in Toledo. He was born Aug. 2, 1996 in Bellevue to Todd F. and Shannon (Pugh) Mills of Clyde.

Surviving include: a sister, Victoria Mills of home; maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Pugh of Clyde; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Mominec of Fremont; maternal great grandmother, Mrs. Vivian Meyer of Clyde; paternal great grandmother, Mrs. Georgia Louise Whitehead of Clyde.

Deceased are: grandfather, Albert Meyer and great grandfather, John Albert Rule.

Private family services will he held with The Rev. Jeff Nordhaus. Burial will be at McPherson cemetery.

Visitation hours are from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2001, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's CCD Program in care of Sister Bonnie, Vine St., Clyde, Ohio.

Gerald C. Kessler
Atlas retiree

Gerald C. "Jerry" Kessler, 59, of N. Countyline Street, Fostoria, died at 3:25 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2001, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

Mr. Kessler was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Amsden to Charles J. and Hazel B. (Williams) Kessler, Sr. He married Karen Sue Bentz on July 13, 1963, in New Riegel. They are divorced.

Survivors include: a son, Brian of Carey; two daughters, Mrs. Jason (Laura) Walters of Cincinnati, and Mrs. James (Kristine) Wise of Tiffin; five grandchildren; two brothers, George J. of Republic, and Raymond A. of New Riegel; and three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Martha T.) Haubert of Alvada, Rita M. Lafontaine and Annabelle M. Hemminger, both of New Riegel.

Deceased are: his parents, two brothers, Richard A. and Charles J. Jr.; and an infant sister, Norma Jean Kessler.

He was a 1960 graduate of New Riegel High School; retired from Atlas, Inc., Fostoria, after 30 years; member of Fostoria Council #1197, Knights of Columbus Third Degree, Fostoria Eagles Club Aerie #430, Fostoria United Sportsman Club, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #872 New Riegel, AMVETS Post #69 of Fostoria, and social member of American Legion Post #840 and VFW Post #421 both of Fostoria.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:40 a.m. Monday in the St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, with the mass of Christian Burial following at 10 a.m. The Father Leonard Kistler C.PP.S. will officiate; and burial will be in St. Boniface Parish cemetery, New Riegel, where the United Veterans of Fostoria will conduct graveside military honors..

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria where a Christian wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Richmond "Clayton" Combs
Retired Ford Motor inspector

Richmond "Clayton" Combs, 71, of 8501 CH 16, McCutchenville, died at 6:58 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2001, in Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.

He was born to Richmond and Virgie (Puckett) Combs on Feb. 9, 1930, in Salyerville, Ky. He married Fannie Manns. She is deceased. He then married Lorene (Bolen) Johnson on Sept. 4, 1997, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Tommy R. Combs and James Combs, both of Willard; four stepsons, Winton Johnson of Lexington, Jeff Johnson of Sycamore, Greg Johnson of McCutchenville, and Chuck Johnson of Upper Sandusky; a stepdaughter, Ms. Sheila Biller of Old Fort; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers, Chester Basham and Charles Basham both of Salyerville, Ky., Joe Basham of Pikeville, Ky., Adrian Basham of River Rouge, Mich., and Ludas Basham of Middletown; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Howard and Mrs. Pamela Risner, both of Salyerville, Ky.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict; attended Our Masters Chapel in Benton; was an employee at Johnson's Bait, McCutchenville; retired as an inspector at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky after serving 30 years; an avid bass fisherman and loved the Kentucky Wildcats and the Cleveland Indians.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with burial in Pleasant Ridge cemetery, Sycamore, where a military graveside service will be conducted by Sycamore American Legion Post #250.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Debra D. Kimbler
Nursing Home housekeeper

Debra D. Kimbler, 38, of 16277 Twp. Hwy. 27, Carey, died at 11:52 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2001, in a traffic accident at the intersection of St. Hwy. 15 and Twp. Hwy. 198 in Hancock County.

She was born Aug. 4, 1962, in Marion to Ray V. and Betty L. (King) Kimbler. She married Allen Barry, Jr. and they divorced. She then married John W. Coe and they divorced.

Survivors include: her parents of Carey; a son, Jeremy A. Barry of Carey; a companion, Timothy Billock; a brother, Donald Kimbler of Carey; and four sisters, Mrs. Richard (Vicky) Jesko of Carey, Mrs. Steven (Kimberlee) Fredritz of Wharton, Mrs. Ronald (Barbara) Uhls, Jr. of Seymour, Ind., and Mrs. Jayson (Misty) Walters of Findlay.

She graduated in 1980 from Carey High School; was employed in the housekeeping department at Wyandot County Nursing Home in Upper Sandusky for the past 16 years; of the Protestant faith; and enjoyed listening to music and dancing.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Carey First Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Layne officiating, and burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Memorials may be made to Wyandot County Birth Defects or American Cancer Society (Wyandot County Chapter), c/o of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, OH 43316.

Harriet E. Martig
Upper Sandusky resident

Harriet E. Martig, 90, formerly of 680 Mission Dr., Upper Sandusky, died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2001, in the Wyandot County Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky, where she had resided since January of 1997.

She was born to William F. and Sarah Mae (Brown) Honsberger on March 19, 1911, in Wyandot County. She married C.H. Miller and he survives. She later married Floyd A. Martig and he died April 21, 1993.

Survivors include: two sons, David L. Miller of Upper Sandusky, and Allen Martig of Columbia, S.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Romich, Mrs. Paul (Rosemarie) Amos and Barbara Martig, all of Upper Sandusky; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Frederick (Mildred) Young of Upper Sandusky.

Also deceased are a grandchild and a sister, Dorothy Disher.

Mrs. Martig was a 1928 graduate of Eden Centralized School; attended Tiffin Business School; a secretary and bookkeeper for the former Kuenzli Quarry for 50 years; a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 38 years; was church organist; enjoyed crocheting, playing Hide the Thimble with her grandchildren and making afghans for family members.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Kenneth Wessler officiating. Burial will be in Old Mission cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Music Fund or to Wyandot Memorial Hospital, c/o Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home, P.O. Box 246, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.

Kelly C. Gardner
Meat cutter

Kelly C. Gardner, 51, of Norris Drive, Clyde, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 28, 1949, in California, to Duke and Marie (Portius) Gardner. He married Caren Colvin Ebersole on Aug. 4, 1979, and she survives.

Other survivors include: his mother of Alabama; a stepson, Michael Ebersole of Clyde; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Steven (Lisa) Grillasca of Texas; three grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Gardner of Massachusetts, and Alan Gardner of Delaware; and a sister, Mary Knight of Alabama.

His father and a brother, Dyke Gardner, are deceased.

He was educated in New Hampshire; in the U.S. Army from August of 1970 through December of 1987; was a meat cutter for Routh Packing of Sandusky for five years; associated with the First United Methodist Church of Clyde; member of Monticello Lodge #244, F&AM of Clyde, Clyde Eagles, Clyde VFW, and a life member of the DAV.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with the Rev. John Bailey officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens where military graveside services will be provided by the Clyde American Legion and Clyde VFW.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where Masonic services will be at 6:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Donna J. Richards
Airfoil Textron retiree

Donna J. Richards, 72, of 109 Maple St., Risingsun, died at 9:40 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2001, at her residence.

She was born June 23, 1928, in Fostoria, to Burl and Ruth (Bullock) Sprow. They preceded her in death. On Aug. 2, 1946, in Fostoria, she married Garrett "Jack" Richards. He died Jan. 10, 1973.

Survivors include: a son, Michael G. Richards of Risingsun; two daughters, Linda "Sue" Smith of Fostoria, and Pamela K. Reinbolt of Barrington, R.I.; a brother, Frederick Sprow of Okinawa; a sister, Mrs. Jack (Julie) Butler of Fostoria; a companion, Harold "Pee Wee" Calmes of Carey; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Deceased also include: a step-father, Lee Betzer; a brother, Richard Sprow; a sister, Sally Sprow; and a grandson, Gary Reinbolt.

Mrs. Richards was a kindergarten aide at Lakota Schools and a laborer for 34 years with Airfoil Textron (formerly Excello) in Fostoria, retiring in 1989. She was a member of First Church of God in Risingsun, the Eagles Auxiliary 430, VFW Auxiliary 421, and the UAW Local 1246, all in Fostoria.

Services will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God in Risingsun with the Rev. Paul Rutledge officiating. Interment will be in the Fountain cemetery in Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 950 Wooster St., Bowling Green, OH 43402 or to the First Church of God, 7968 US 23, Risingsun, OH 43457.

Helen V. Smith
Sycamore resident

Helen V. Smith, 90, of 209 W. Saffel Ave., Sycamore, died at 6:52 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2001, in Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

She was born Jan. 21, 1911, in Wise, W.Va., to George and Alice (Snyder) Raugh. On Jan. 9, 1931, she married Dr. F.M. Smith, who survives.

Survivors also include: a son, Dr. D.P. Smith of Sycamore; a daughter, Mrs. Wallace (Virginia) Thompson of El Paso, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Deceased are three brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Sycamore United Church of Christ, the Mohawk Sixty Plus Club, both the Mohawk and the Wyandot County Historical Society, a former member of the Sycamore Literary Club, Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild, and the Enterprise Chapter 345 O.E.S. in Sycamore.

She was a homemaker and former bookkeeper at Sycamore Medical Associates. She was also a licensed amateur radio operator and loved to read and do needlework.

Memorial services will be private. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County.

George Stein
Grandson of Tiffin residents

George Stein, two-week-old infant son, died Friday, April 20, 2001, in Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland.

He was born April 8, 2001, in Cleveland, to George and Susan M. (Stein) Alexander. They survive in Cleveland.

Survivors also include: two brothers, Joseph and Matthew Stein of Cleveland; grandparents, William and Bea Stein of Tiffin; great-grandmother, Loretta MacDonald of St. Petersburg, Fla.; an aunt, Jane Kotnik of West Carrollton; and four cousins.

Graveside services will be private.

The Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home in Tiffin is handling arrangements.

Frances N. Ramirez
Fostoria resident

Frances N. Ramirez, 89, of 612 Stinchcomb Drive, Fostoria, died at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2001, in St. Catherine's Care Center in Fostoria.

She was born Oct. 4, 1911, in Mexico, to Francisco and Justa (Arellano) Navarro. On April 14, 1928, in Monroe, Mich., she married Henry O. Ramirez. He died Feb. 8, 1981.

Survivors include: a son, Robert Tom Ramirez of Toledo; three daughters, Theresa Ramirez of Florida, Mrs. Art (Lupe) Costilla of Fostoria, and Mrs. William (Irene) Moyer of North Baltimore; 29 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were: her parents; two sons, Henry Jr. and Frank Ramirez; four brothers, Ramon, Vicente, Rafael, and the Rev. Ramon R. Navarro; and a sister, Guadalupe Torres.

Mrs. Ramirez was employed at Fostoria Packing House, Fostoria Country Club, Bishops Dry Cleaning, and Mr. B's Dry Cleaners in Fostoria.

She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, and a former member of Fostoria Eagles Aerie 430.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, with the Rosary to be recited at 10 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with a Christian Wake service at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Seneca County or in the form of Mass Intentions to St. Wendelin's Church.

Robert C. Junkins
U. S. veteran

Robert C. Junkins, 74, of Lima, died at 8:42 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2001, at the Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 30, 1926, in Rudolph, Ohio, to Floyd A. and

Grace E. (Mercer) Junkins. They preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sons: Mark Junkins of Buckland, Ohio and John Junkins of Lima; four grandsons; and friend and caregiver, Margaret Shaffer of Lima.

Mr. Junkins was a 1944 Columbian High School graduate and attended Tiffin University. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, having served in the 503 Parachute Regiment in the Philippines and the 188 Parachute Regiment in Japan. He enjoyed Lapidary, model trains, boating, playing musical keyboard, and amateur radio.

He was a lineman for Ohio Power in Lima and Tiffin, and retired after 40 years. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Lima; AEP Veterans Assoc., Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, Lima; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1275, Lima; Senior Citizens of Lima; Member of Masonic Bodies Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio; Garrett Wykoff Lodge 585; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton; Antioch Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Dayton; Lima Shrine Club; The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masons both of Ohio; and founder of the West Central Ohio Rock Club.

Services will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Lewis Chapel of Chiles and Sons - Laman, 828 Bellefontaine Ave., Lima, and will be officiated by the Rev. Howard Allison. Burial will be in the Weston cemetery in Weston, Ohio.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m, Monday, and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. A Masonic Memorial service will take place at 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
