Harry B. McCrory
Former owner of Superior Cleaners
Harry B. McCrory, 88, of 48 Short St., Tiffin, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, in his home.
He was born Nov. 18, 1912, in Tiffin, to William W. and Jenetta Mae (Weaver) McCrory. On Jan. 5, 1932, in Monroe, Mich., he married
Vivian Madeline Bassett. She died Sept. 4, 1999.
Other survivors include a son, Michael McCrory of Tiffin; a daughter, Patricia Harlett of Deerfield Beach, Fla., six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased are: two brothers, a sister, and a great-granddaughter.
Mr. McCrory was the former owner of Superior Cleaners, graduated from Columbian High School in 1931, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin.
A rosary will take place at 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, followed by a mass 10 a.m., at the church, with the Msgr. Edward Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Community Hospice Care.
Kenneth E. Fox
Upper Sandusky resident
Kenneth E. "Bud" Fox, 74, of Upper Sandusky, died unexpectedly at 11:11 a.m., Sunday, April 15, 2001, in the Wyandot Memorial Hospital emergency room.
He was born Nov. 20, 1926, in Bucyrus, to Ralph William and Hilda Gertrude (Rady) Fox. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Tiffin. On June 19, 1946, he married
Wanda J. Downing, and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Carolyn) Bursby of Bucyrus; a son, Ken Fox of Upper Sandusky; a sister, Phyllis Gittinger of Tiffin; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Deceased are two brothers William and Richard Fox.
Mr. Fox, a 1944 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, joined the U.S. Navy and served two years. After moving to Bucyrus, he was employed for 40 years with the Ohio Power Co., until he retired in May of 1986.
He was a pitcher in numerous Fast Pitch Leagues, in Aumiller Park in the 1950's. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, yard work, and traveling with his wife. He was a member of the American Legion Post 888 and an avid Cleveland Indians and OSU fan.
Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, with the Rev. Don Neumann officiating. Interment, with full military rites provided by the Col. Crawford Post 181, American Legion, will follow at Oakwood cemetery in Bucyrus.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Wyandot Memorial Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Center or to the Wyandot Co. E.M.S. in care of the funeral home.
George E. Ingram
WWII Navy Veteran
George E. Ingram, 74, of Park Ave., in Fostoria, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 4, 1927, in Marion, Ohio, to Miles and Cora (Hale) Ingram. On May 5, 1947, in Tiffin, he married
Mildred Niswander, and she survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include sons, Robert Ingram of Taylor, MI, Howard Laney of Fostoria, and Ronald Laney of Cripple Creek, Ky., brothers, Miles Ingram of Fostoria, and Lloyd Ingram of Washington; sisters, Elnora Hainen of Findlay, and Phyllis Correll of Fostoria; 11 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Mary Jane Krotzer.
Mr. Ingram retired in 1989 as a Millwright at Chrysler Corp. in Trenton, Mich., and was a WWII U. S. Navy Veteran.
Services will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, in Fostoria, with the Rev. Keith Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Fountain cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Brethren Church in Fostoria.
Anna Christine Berry
Former Tiffin resident
Word has been received of the death of Anna Christine "Chris" (Chapman) Berry, 81, of Mattapoisett, Mass., on Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Rose Hawthorne Lathrop Home following a brief illness.
She was born in Tiffin to the late Earl and Mary F. (Martin) Chapman.
Survivors include a son, Robert C. Berry of Littleton, Colo., a daughter, Suzanne B. Crouch, of Mattapoisett; and two grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Mary Jane Good and Marie Fuller.
Mrs. Berry lived most of her life in Tiffin. She was a member of the Mattapoisett Women's Club, the Friends of the Library as well as a volunteer for F.I.S.H. and enjoyed gardening and playing bridge.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, April 28, in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Mattapoisett, MA.
Gladys Tusing Estep
Aunt of Tiffin resident
Word has been received of the death of Gladys Tusing Estep, 93, on Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Bridgewater Home in Virginia.
She was born May 7, 1907, in Rockingham, Va., to Daniel and Emma (Wean) Tusing. On June 25, 1938 she married
Stover Estep. He died Oct. 25, 1959.
Deceased are two brothers, Willard Tusing and Sturn Tusing; and three sisters, Ermie Miller, Ressie Biller, and Beulah Tusing.
The Rev. Jeff Butcher conducted services at the United Methodist Church in Broadway, Va. Burial took place at the Mount Grove cemetery Fulks Run.

Henry John Kevin Straub
Fostoria resident
Henry John Kevin Straub, 21, of CR 18, died Monday, April 16, 2001, in Fostoria.
He was born in Tiffin, July 2, 1979, to Robert and Janet (Smith) Straub. They survive in Bettsville.
Survivors also include two brothers, Aaron Straub of Toledo, and Chad Straub of Fostoria; a sister, Audrey Straub of Lakewood, paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Straub, Sr. of Bettsville, and maternal grandparents, Elizabeth Smith of Tiffin, and Myron Smith of Sandusky.
Mr. Straub was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He was a 1997 graduate and avid supporter of Bettsville High School. He was employed as Assistant Manager with Brightnet.
Services will be private and officiated by Fr. Ted Miller.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. at Engle Funeral Home in Bettsville.
Helen E. Baker
Clyde resident
Helen E. Baker, 86, of Fairhome Ave., Clyde, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Bellevue Hospital.
She was born June 30, 1914, in Clyde, to Floyd and Elizabeth (Burpee) Rohm. On October 3, 1932, she married
Howard L. Baker. He died July 1969.
Survivors include a son, LaMar J. Baker of Green Springs, a daughter; Mrs. John (Phyllis) Fisher, of Clyde; a brother, a half brother; two sisters; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death include: a daughter, Mrs. John (Shirley) Hofelich, in 1970; two brothers, Donald and Robert Rohm, and a grandson.
Mrs. Baker, a 1932 Clyde High School graduate, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clyde and a member of the Friendly Philathea and numerous church committees. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women's group, Senior Citizens of Clyde, Eagles auxiliary, Women of the Moose, Sandusky County Farm Bureau, Sandusky County Red Cross Blood Mobile Volunteer, and past member of numerous farm clubs.
She was employed as a laborer for the Clyde Tool and Die Corporation until 1977, and worked on the Clyde Election Board.
The Rev. John Bailey will be the officiant at services at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the First United Methodist Church in Clyde. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. The Moose Auxiliary will provide a 6:45 p.m. service, followed by a 7 p.m. service by the Eagles Auxiliary.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Operating Fund in Clyde, Ohio.
Nancy Jane Meals
Daughter of former Tiffin residents
Word has been received of the death of Nancy Jane Meals, who died Friday, April 13, 2001.
She was born December 4, 1916. She was the daughter of the late Bruce Zeller Good and Helen Good, of Tiffin.
Survivors include: daughters, Christina Fuller of Largo, Fla., Jennifer M. Levine of Bexley; a sister, Mary Avery of Scottsdale, Ariz. and a granddaughter.
Deceased is her husband, A. William Meals of Springfield.
Mrs. Avery was a 1938 graduate of Wittenberg University; a member of MENSA; Daughters of the American Revolution; Dolly Todd Madison chapter of Tiffin, Tri Beta Biology Honorary Society, Young Women's Mission, and former director of Planned Parenthood.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday, at Richards, Raff and Dunbar Funeral Home in Springfield.
Memorials may be made to the Dolly Todd Madison chapter of the DAR or Planned Parenthood.
Matthew L. Ward
Tiffin resident
Matthew L. Ward, 35, of 51 Gibson Court, died at 11:32 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2001, in Tiffin.
He was born in Tiffin, March 19, 1966, to James L. and Patricia (Bradshaw) Ward. His father is deceased. His mother survives. On May 7, 1987, he married
Diann C. Daughenbaugh, and she survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Zachary Ward, and a daughter, Amanda Ward, both of Tiffin; three brothers, Michael Ward of Flowery Branch, GA., and Mark and Marty Ward, both of Tiffin; three sisters, Jackie Ward of Tiffin, Cheryl Ward and Angie Daughenbaugh, both of Republic.
Mr. Ward, a 1984 Columbian High School graduate, was employed as a Supervisor at Seneca Mill Work. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Tiffin, and the Sycamore JC's.
Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Church of the Nazarene, officiated by the Rev. Wendell Shepherd. Burial will be in the Fairmont cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services, Saturday, at the church.
Memorials may be made to the children, Amanda and Zachary Ward in Tiffin.
Isabell Goulker
Wife of former Tiffin resident
Isabell Goulker, 89, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at the Broadview Health Care Center in Columbus.
Her husband, Carl E. Goulker of Tiffin, is deceased.
Survivors include: a son, Paul E. Goulker, of Gahanna; a brother, Dr. Henry Kedersha and a sister, Rose Kedersha, both of New Jersey.
Graveside services will take place 11 a.m., Saturday at the Fairmont cemetery in Tiffin.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m., Friday, at the Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus.
Evelyn Pocock
Clyde resident
Evelyn Pocock, 76, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in the Arbors of Clyde.
She was born, May 13, 1924, in Sandusky County, to Louis and Pearl (Beatty) Young. On March 29, 1945, she married
James H. Pocock. He died in 1990.
Survivors include: three sons, Danny Pocock of Tenn., James Pocock of Mich., and Jerry Pocock of Vickery; four daughters, Mrs. Colby (Linda) Mowery of Bellevue, Mrs. Danny (Karen) Keegan of Green Springs, Mrs. Floyd (Jeannie) Long of Vickery, and Mrs. Douglas (Annie) Keeton of Rocky Ridge; two brothers, William and Earnest Young, both of Sandusky; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Ethel) Gilbert of Castalia, and Mrs. Dorothy Olivares of Sandusky; 19 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are: two sons, David and Howard Pocock, five brothers, Johnny, Jimmy, Thomas, Fred and Frank Young; and two grandsons.
Mrs. Pocock attended the Townsend School, was a homemaker, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Clyde.
Services will take place 2 p.m., Friday, at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Belcher officiating. Interment will be in the McPherson cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde.
Memorial may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.
Joanne E. Rohed
Clyde resident
Joanne E. Rohed, 64, of CR 195, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001 in the Bellevue Hospital.
She was born Nov. 17, 1936, in Mountain Grove, Mo., to Wesley and Mary (Bressler) Pembroke. They are deceased.
On March 9, 1968, she married
Kenneth A. Rohde, and he survives.
Survivors also include: three sons, Robert K. Rohde of Fayetteville, Roger K. Rohde of Hillsboro, and Keith A. Rohde of Clyde; a step-son, Stephen L. Rohde of Columbus; two step-daughters, Mrs. Larry (Rebecca A.) Workman of Springfield, and Mrs. Dave (Catherine) Lankford of Atlanta, Ga; a brother, Paul Zink of Mentor; two sisters, Clara Beach of Florida, and Ruth Cox of Toledo;14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Wesley Zink.
Mrs. Rohed graduated from Bellevue High School in 1955, and was a laborer at G.E. in Bellevue, and employed with the News Messenger and Data Motion.
Services will take place 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde, with the Rev. James Scott officiating. Interment will be in the Lay-Butternut Ridge cemetery, in rural Clyde.
Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until services, Saturday, at the funeral home.
