D. JoAnne Williams, 71, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2001, at her home at 3730 W. TR 158.
She was born Dec. 14, 1929, in Tiffin, to the late Delbert J. and Helen G. (Wolf) Henninger. Her husband, Charles R. Williams Jr., whom she married
Aug. 6, 1965, in Tiffin, survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Ronald L. Williams of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Alonzo (Shirley) Shultz Jr. of Fostoria; two brothers, Calvin Henninger of Plymouth, Minn. and Robert Henninger of Milan, Mich.; two grandchildren, two step grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Michael C. Williams; and a grandchild, also are deceased.
A 1947 graduate of Columbian High School, Mrs. Williams was a homemaker.
The Rev. Scott Hayward will be the officiant at the 1 p.m. Friday service in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rock Creek cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Gail Lynn Craig
Former nursing home employee
Gail Lynn Craig, 47, of 158 Hickory Tree Estates, 531 S. Patterson St., Carey, died early Saturday afternoon, March 24, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 1, 1953, in Astoria, Ore., to Clarence A. Hodge and Marilyn Gibson-Rettig. Her mother and step father, Willard Rettig, survive in McCutchenville. Her father also survives. On June 3, 1972, she married
James Stanley Craig. They were later divorced.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jared H. Craig of Dunkirk and Jeremy L. Craig of Findlay; a daughter, Joy Lynn Craig of Findlay; six grandchildren; two brothers, Carl A. Hodge of McCutchenville Micah Rettig of Tiffin; two half brothers, Michael and Dale Hodge, both of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Sharolyn Rettig of Carey and Nancy Wolfe of Sycamore; a half sister, Tammy Hodge of Portland; two step brothers, Tom Rettig of Upper Sandusky and Rick Rettig of Wharton; two step sisters, Barbara Arlington of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and Victoria Seifert of Carey.
Mrs. Craig, a 1972 graduate of Mohawk High School, had formerly worked at Westinghouse, A.O. Smith and the Indian Trail Nursing Home. She also served as an EMT for Wyandot County.
She attended the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Carey and St. Michael's Church in Findlay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, with the Rev. Ernest Waechter OFM Conv., as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Michael's cemetery, Findlay.
Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, where a Vigil service will take place at 8:30 p.m.

Shirley Jean Rogge
Former G.E. employee
Shirley Jean Rogge, 71, of 157 Walnut St., Bellevue, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, in the Bellevue Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born May 13, 1929, in Grand Rapids, Ohio, to the late Floyd and Ina (Zimmerman) Huffman. On July 29, 1950, in Grand Rapids, she married
William Leo Rogge. He died March 1, 1984.
Surviving are three sons, Mark J. Rogge of Cresent Springs, Ky., Matthew A. Rogge of Bellevue and John P. Rogge of Crane, Ind.; four daughters, Mrs. Gerard T. (Chris) Dick and Mrs. William E. (Valerie) Magyar, both of Bellevue, Deborah S. (Rogge) Vango and Mrs. Steven (Sandra M.) Klepper, both of Sandusky; 16 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; two brothers, Glen and Donald Huffman; and two sisters, Ruby Greathouse and Garnet Ruswinkle.
Also deceased are; a grandson, William Joseph Magyar; five sisters and five brothers.
Mrs. Rogge, a graduate of Grand Rapids High School, was employed at the former Bellevue General Electric Lamp Plant. She also worked as a nurses aide at the Bellevue Hospital for several years.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Women's Auxiliary and involved in "Hands Across America."
An avid Cleveland Indians fan, she enjoyed reading and collecting Teddy bears.
The Rev. Robert Tucceri will conduct the 11 a.m. Thursday service in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Bellevue Catholic cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Cyril M. Nye Jr.
Retired mechanic
Cyril M. "Junior" Nye Jr., 77, formerly of New Riegel, died at 2:35 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2001, in the Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
He was born March 9, 1924, in Alvada, to Cyril J. and Germaine (Goshe) Nye Sr. His wife, Bernadine E. (Nye) Nye, whom he married
April 8, 1947, in Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Carey, survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: five daughters, Mrs. Norman (Nancy) Boes of Fostoria, Mrs. James (Darlene) Jacoby of Palm City, Fla., Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Zender and Mrs. Don (Margaret) Foster, both of Sycamore and Mrs. Michael (Wanda) Magill of Tiffin; four sons, Robert D. Nye of Adrian, William M. Nye of Melmore, Thomas E. Nye of Republic and Larry R. Nye of Carey; 29 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Carl and Delbert Nye, both of Alvada, Donald Nye of New Riegel and Richard Nye, also of Alvada; and six sisters, Mrs. Luke (Mary Lou) Weinandy of Carey, Idella Reinhart of Fremont, Mrs. Lewis (Eloise) Reinhart of Fostoria, Mrs. Eugene (Donna) Reinhart of Alvada, Mrs. Ralph (Teresa) Szablewski of Tiffin and Mrs. Marvin (Sharon) Hohman of New Riegel.
Two sisters, Berneda Lichtle and Shirley Daniels, are deceased.
Mr Nye, an avid hunter and fisherman, retired in 1987 as a mechanic from Shultz Motor Sales in Tiffin.
He was a member of the following: St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, a 14-year past president of Sandusky River Coon Hunters, past governor of the New Riegel Moose, Catholic Knights of Ohio Branch 52, New Riegel, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Frenchtown; Dad's VFW, Tiffin, and Pheasants Forever of Seneca County. He was a former member of the Fostoria United Sportsman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Leonard Kistler C.PP.S. officiating. The rosary will be recited at the church at 9:40 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Thursday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. A Christian wake service and CK of O memorial service will take place during a private family visitation on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the church or Seneca County Pheasants Forever.
Annamae Cullin
Retired medical librarian
Annamae (Casanova) Cullin, 79, of 3015 Ferry Lane, Sandusky, died Saturday evening, March 24, 2001, in the Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Fla., following a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 21, 1921, in Frank, Ohio, to Aloysius and Amelia (Raufeisen) Casanova. Her husband, James J. Cullin, died in 1973.
Survivors include: four sisters, Mrs. Elarose Schettine of Wellsville, N.Y., Mrs. Robert (Irma) Martin of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Royce (Martha) Jennings of New London, Ohio and Mrs. Robert (Eunice) Ries of Sandusky; three brothers, Robert and Donald Casanova, both of Sandusky and Charles Casanova of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.
A brother, Aloysius "Bud" Casanova Jr., also is deceased.
Mrs. Cullin, a 1939 graduate of Sandusky High School, was employed as an executive secretary to the Chief Surgeon at the Ohio Veterans Home for 35 years and then worked as a medical librarian at the former Memorial Hospital, Sandusky, for 10 years, retiring in 1985. She also attended the Sandusky Business College and the University of Toledo.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky; charter member and past president of Sandusky Chapter of Business and Professional Women; and a member of the Medical Librarians Group. She was a past member of Zonta
An avid flower gardener and reader, Mrs. Cullin traveled extensively, having visited all the states except Hawaii and Alaska.
Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Quick-Park and Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis Walsh will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
Arvilla G. Bozman
Retired Deputy Clerk
Arvilla G. Bozman, 88, of 27 Westwood Court, died at 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2001, at the Independence House, Fostoria.
She was born Nov. 15, 1912, in Bellingham, Wash. to Eugene C. and Mary (Mortensen) Munn. On Nov. 13, 1938, in Columbus, she married
W. Clifford Bozzman. He died Aug. 21.
Surviving are a sister, Dessia Elliott of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Isla Beeson and Ruth Munn are deceased.
Mrs. Bozman retired in 1964 after 17 years as deputy clerk of Seneca County Probate Court. Prior to that, from 1933-1944, she was a secretary in the office of the State Board of Registration for professional engineers and surveyors in Columbus.
She graduated from Fostoria High School and Tiffin University
where she received the Outstanding Alumni Award in 1981. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and it's Women's Association as well as an original member of the State Employees Retirement System.
The service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the mausoleum chapel at Seneca Memory Gardens with entombment following. The Rev. Richard Mahlmann will be the officiant.
There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Tiffin.
Irvin "Whitey" Woodward
Fostoria Resident
Irvin "Whitey" Woodward, 80, of Summit St., Fostoria, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2001, at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
He was born July 29, 1920, in Hancock County, to Elmer and Mary (Swihart) Woodward. On June 25, 1946 in Findlay, he married
Donna Watson. They were divorced. On Sept. 15, 1964, in Cheyenne, WI, he married
Mary Ellen Foster, who survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: daughters, Mary Louise Redman of Stratford, VA., Barbara Thomas of Jerry City, Mrs. Michael (Susan) Coffey of Inverness, FL., step daughters, Mrs. Frank (Rosalind) Thompson, Mrs. Michael (Mary Lou) Luman and Mrs. Michael (Dorothy) Keiffer all of Fostoria, Mrs. Steve (Karen) Weinke of Wausau, WI; step sons, Christopher Frisch of Fostoria, Larry Buchwalter of Portage, IN; a brother, Leland Woodward of Findlay, sisters, Ruby Foltz and Treva Hindall both of Arlington, 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Clifford Woodward, and brothers, Kenneth, Clifford and Ithel Woodward, and a grandchild.
Mr. Woodward, a 1938 graduate of Mount Corey High School, was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. He retired in 1986 from Norbalt Rubber Co. in North Baltimore. He was last employed by A to Z in Bluffton.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., Wednesday, at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be at Van Horn cemetery, near Vanlue.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
Marian R. Smith
Fremont resident
Marian R. Smith, 83, of 915 B Tucker Lane, Fremont, died at 9:25 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2001, at her home.
She was born April 18, 1917, in Detroit, MI, to F. Earl and Mary B. (Bauman) Hudson. On Oct. 15, 1938, in Fremont, she married
Joseph P. Smith, who survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Mark J. Smith of Fremont, a daughter, Rebecca Hastings, of Farewell, MI, three grandsons, two great-grandsons, a brother, Frank J. Hudson of Greensboro, NC., and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are: a son Thomas S. Smith and sisters, Harriet Distel and Carol Nord.
Mrs. Smith, a homemaker, was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, the Altar Guild, VFW Auxiliary, a Red Cross volunteer and a Hospice volunteer.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont, and will be officiated by the Rev. Joel Remmers. Her body will lay in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Four Mile House cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, at the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home in Fremont.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice or Food Pantry.
Major Bernard E. Hawk
Retired Air Force veteran
Major Bernard E. Hawk, 80, of Green Springs, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Mariner Health Care in Florida. He was born on Sept. 3, 1922 in Green Springs. His wife, of 55 years, Catherine, survives.
Survivors also include: sons, Thomas Hawk of Titusville, FL., William Hawk of Dayton, Robert Hawk of Ogden, UT, and daughters, Susan Weaver of Palm Bay, FL, Patty Letzinger of Lakeland, FL., Tina Thornton and Rosemary Hawk both of Melbourne, FL, a sister, Margaret Hoffman of Marion; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister Yvonne Swerlein.
Major Hawk was a U.S. Airforce veteran. Upon retirement, he worked as a teacher in Dayton and at Satellite High School in Satellite Beach, FL, where he retired in 1983.
He enjoyed golfing and family gatherings.
Private services will be at Fountainhead Memorial in Palm Bay, Florida.

Mabel M. Delagrange
Mother of Tiffin resident
Mabel M. Delagrange, 95, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at the Cedars in Leo-Cedarville, IN. Her husband, Christian Delagrange is deceased.
Survivors include: three daughter, Donna Short of Ft. Wayne, IN., Janice Bauman of Leo, IN., and Marilyn Deahl, of Tiffin; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a grandson, Gregory Bauman.
She was born in Van Wert, and was a teacher for 38 years with the East Allen County Schools as well as a graduate of Tri State University and a member of the North Leo Mennonite Church.
Services will be 10:30, Thursday at the North Leo Mennonite Church in Leo, IN. A private burial will take place in the Leo cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd., Leo, IN.
