Sylvia Ann Parks, 44, of 331 S. Union St., Fostoria, died at 9:28 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 27, 1956, in Gallipolis, to Gary Craddolph and Lois V. (Long) Howell.
Her mother survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: two sons, Michael B. Craddolph and Milargo L. Wilson, both of Fostoria; her step-father, Paul E. Howell of Fostoria; a brother, Paul E. Howell Jr. of Fostoria; a sister, Mrs. James (Lisa) Holman of Coco Beach, Fla.; and her fiance, Merle Robinson of Fostoria.
Her father; and a brother, Tracy D. Howell, are deceased.
Mrs. Park, a homemaker, was a member of Union Baptist Church, Blackfork, Ohio.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bethel Baptist Church, Fostoria, with the Rev. Paul Moore officiating. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, and at the church one hour prior to the service Saturday.
Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, OH 44830.
James R. Combs
Retired Whirlpool employee
James R. Combs, 55, of 204 N. Broadway, Green Spring, died at 9:32 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in the Fremont Memorial emergency room.
Mr. Combs was born March 25, 1945, in Whitesburg, Ky. to Henry and Madie (Perkins) Combs.
Survivors include his mother of Green Springs; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Ramonda A.) Weiker of Green Springs, Tonya Combs of Flintstone, Md., Mrs. Mark (Betsy) Hackenburg of Clyde, and Beth Powers of Madrid, Spain; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Wanda L. Taylor and Mrs. Donald (Sheila M.) Preston, both of Green Springs; and his companion of 22 years, Beatrice J. Powers.
His father and a brother, Carl Combs, are deceased.
He was a Vietnam veteran; retired from the Clyde Whirlpool Corp.; was a member of the Adams Township Baptist Church, Green Springs, a life member of the VFW in Clyde, and the Green Springs American Legion.
Funeral service will be at noon Saturday, in the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs with the Rev. Paul G. Tyree officiating.
Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Adams Township Baptist Church.
Lane A. Shafer
Fremont retired fire fighter
Lane A. Shafer, 53, of Garfield St., Fremont, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, in the emergency room of the Fremont Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 29, 1946, in Fremont to Donald W. and Maxine (Schmitke) Shafer.
Survivors include: his mother and step-father, Maxine and Bob Toeppe of Fremont; a son, Howie Shafer of Kansas; a daughter, Jenny Shafer of Kansas; a brother, Daniel Shafer of Green Springs; and a sister, Linda Evans of Huntington Beach, Calif.
His father is deceased.
Mr. Shafer was a 1965 graduate of Fremont Ross High School; in the Navy, served during the Vietnam Conflict and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal 1960 Device, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, and Combat Action Ribbon; employed by the city of Fremont as a firefighter with 20 years of service until he retired; was working part time at the Rainbow Bowling Lanes; a charter captain and ran fishing charters in Lake Erie; a member of VFW, Eagles and Moose; and was very active in several bowling leagues.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Jan. 3, at the Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home with the Fr. Mark Herzog officiating.
Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery, Fremont.

Dencil R. Terry
Port Clinton resident
Dencil R. Terry, 69, of Port Clinton died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at the Innovative Dialysis Center of Toledo.
He was born March 13, 1931, in West Virginia to Garland and Della (Hobbs) Terry.
In 1964 he married
Janet Pasco in West Virginia. She survives.
Other survivors include: his mother of Tiffin; three sons, Mike and Doug of Tiffin and Ronnie of Albuquerque, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Audrey (Dave) Hagger of California; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Garland of Tiffin; and a sister, Alta Barone.
His father preceded him in death.
He and his wife were previous owners of Sun Valley Golf and Country Club in Port Clinton and he also worked at Ford for several years.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, Oliver H. Perry Lodge, Eastern Star, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo 32nd Degree Mason, Zenobia Shrine, and past president of the Ottawa County Shrine Club 1977, Port Clinton Elks Lodge 1718, Port Clinton Moose Lodge 1610, IAB Club and the Port Clinton Kiwanis Club.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Riverview cemetery, Port Clinton.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.

Ferris E. Way
Photographer/former Tiffin resident
Ferris E. Way, 85, of Dayton and formerly of Tiffin, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born Jan. 25, 1915, in Waverly, W.Va., to Arch E. and Lelia (White) Way.
His wife of 58 years, Modelle J. McDonald of Dayton, survives, as does his brother, Donald R. of Louisville, Ky.
He retired in 1972 from the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, as photographic supervisor with the 4950th Test Wing after 31 years of military and government service.
During World War II he served in the European Theater of Operations with the U.S. Army.
During that time he was the official photographer for General Mark Clark and was the recipient of the Meritorious Service Award.
He was also a member of the Sons and Daughters of the Pioneer Rivermen.
During the time he lived in Tiffin, he was employed at the former Boles-Dandurand Photography Studio.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home with interment in the Greenlawn cemetery.
Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Marion H. 'Bob' Ziegler
Area residents' brother
Marion H. "Bob" Ziegler, 78, of 3891 King Road, Bucyrus, died at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, following a short illness.
He was born March 9, 1922, in Marion to Frank L. and Mary E. (Watson) Ziegler.
He married
Catherine Carle July 30, 1944. She died March 30, 1966.
He married
Hazel M. (Bigler) Wurm Oct. 1, 1966.
She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, James and Charles Wurm of Bucyrus and John Wurm of Las Vegas, Nev.; six daughters, Betty Haldeman, Dolly Butterman, Patty Burling and Brenda Lawson of Bucyrus, Julie Gatchell of Santa Ana, Calif., and Joyce Fleury of Murrysville, Pa.; 36 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Glen Ziegler of Columbus; and four sisters, Twila Ledbetter of Honolulu, Hawaii, Eva Stockmaster of Tiffin, Mary Beamer of Attica, and Betty Henney of Bellevue.
Also preceding him in death were: two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two sisters, Joyce as a child, and Amelia Watson Ziegler Snyder.
He lived his early years in Bloom Township and attended Bloomville school.
He worked for many years for the Hoosier Line Co. based in Van Wert and later worked for Antilles Distributing and Friendly Novelty.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home in Bucyrus with the Rev. Dennis Schroeder officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Trinity cemetery.

Walter Leo Faulkner
Whirlpool retiree
Walter Leo Faulkner, 81, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at his home on South Main Street, Clyde.
He was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Tennessee, to Walter and Nora (Martin) Faulkner.
On Sept. 23, 1939, he married
Ruby McCartney, who survives.
Other survivors include: three children, LaVon Kapp of Lakeview, Virgil Faulkner of Clyde and Mrs. Judy Dumas of Bellevue; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Geneva Cupp of Cullman, Ala.; and four brothers, Edward Faulkner of Molton, Ala., Ules Faulkner of Tiffin, Earl Faulkner of Fayetteville, Tenn. and Alvin Faulkner, also of Cullman.
Also deceased are: five brothers, Albert, Gethro, Ossie, Floyd and Wilburn Faulkner; and two sisters, Mary Madeline Harvey and Maelene Dempsey.
Mr. Faulkner, who received his education in Tennessee, retired Nov. 1, 1981, from Whirlpool Corp., after 31 years of employment.
A U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the South Pacific during World War II, 1944-46, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
The Rev. James Belcher will be the officiant at the 2 p.m. Tuesday service in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.
Interment will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral Home.

Ruth L. Coull
Realtor/apartment manager
Ruth L. Coull, 85, 225 Mohawk St., died at 7:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at her son's residence in rural Tiffin.
She was born June 19, 1915, in Palestine, W.Va., to Charles Russell and Cora (Lee) Looney.
Her husband, William F. Coull, whom she married
Oct. 22, 1939, in Parkersburg, W.Va., died May 31, 2000.
Surviving are: two sons, William F. Coull II of Cincinnati and Charles W. Coull of rural Tiffin; a daughter, Mrs. Maurice (Lynn) Allen of Thermopolis, Wyo.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A brother, Harry K. Looney, also is deceased.
Mrs. Coull, a realtor for 40 years at Coull Realty, also managed Tiffin Garden Apartments.
The first female member of the Tiffin Chamber of Commerce, she also was a member of the Cottage Avenue Church of Christ.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Seneca Memory Gardens Chapel, with burial following in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday in the Seneca Memory Gardens Chapel.

Enoch Harry Williamson
Heidelberg College retiree
Enoch Harry Williamson, 90, of 306 S. Tennessee Blvd., Murfreesboro, Tenn., died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in the Adam's Place Health Care Center.
He was born Sept. 24, 1910, to Enoch Adams and Mahlor Estelle (Fotter) Williamson.
His wife, Winnie Lee Williamson, also preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Eugene Williamson of Augusta, Ga.; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Berka of Danville, Ky.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Kelley of Farmington, Maine and Gertrude Ready of Augusta, Maine.
Mr. Williamson, a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, retired from Heidelberg College as a purchasing agent and bookstore manger.
A native of Stratton, Maine, he had lived in Rutherford County for the past 20 years.
The service is at 2:30 p.m. today in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Christopher Heying officiating.
Burial will be in Wards Grove cemetery.
Visitation is 1:30-2:30 p.m. today at the church

Coyt A. 'Bud' Yeoman
Former Carey hardware store owner
Coyt A. "Bud" Yeoman, 80, of 90 Pierce St., Lehigh Acres, Fla., formerly of Carey, died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, in the Wyandot Manor Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky.
He was born July 12, 1920, in Norwood, Ohio, to Frank Coyt and Crystal (Cramer) Yeoman. On May 2, 1947, he married
Elizabeth A. Houk. She survives.
Survivors also include: a son, David A. Yeoman of Carey; a daughter, Mrs. Chris (Nancy Ann) Rose of Upper Sandusky; two grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Durham of Atlanta, Ga.
A brother, John Yeoman, also is deceased.
Mr. Yeoman, a 1938 graduate of Milford High School, Milford, Ohio, was the former owner of the Houk Hardware in Carey, retiring in 1982.
He also attended Wilmington College, Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Carey, Carey Masonic Blue Lodge 420, American Legion Post 344, former member of the Carey Kiwanis and past president and member of the Carey Business and Professional Association.
A World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, he served in the Pacific Theater, 405th Bomb Squadron, 38th Bomb Group, flying B25 bombers.
He flew 59 active mission and received the Distinguished Flying Cross.
The Rev. Paul W. DeMoss and Vicar Todd Hawkins will be the co-officiants at the 11 a.m. Tuesday service in Christ Lutheran Church.
Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey, where full military graveside services will be conducted.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, and at the church one hour prior to the service Tuesday.
