Mildred M. Rumple
Fostoria resident
Mildred M. Rumple, 90, of Fostoria, died at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000 at Fostoria Community Hospital. She was born Dec. 7, 1910 to Albert and Maude (Francis) Lorah. On Jan. 5, 1940 she married
Clarence K. Rumple, he died Oct. 16, 1991.
Surviving include: a daughter, Mrs. Sharon K. Leonard of Fostoria; a grandson, Bryan K. Leonard of Fostoria; a great grandchild; a brother, Charles Lorah of Columbus; and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Kinney of Sandusky.
Also deceased is a brother, Paul Lorah.
Mrs. Rumple held various secretarial positions retiring from Seneca Wire, Fostoria, she also worked as an assistant at Wesley Center Day Care in Fostoria. A member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria Country Club, and Eastern Star, all of Fostoria.
The Funeral Services will be private. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.

Ellen Joy Shepard
Former Attica School Teacher
Ellen Joy Shepard, 83, of Oak Ridge, TN., died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, TN. She was born Jan. 3, 1917 to Edwin J. and Louise Shepard Pittman. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Carl J. Hagenauer, Peter Nielson and James Shepard.
Surviving include: a son, Richard Hagenauer of Oak Ridge, TN.; two grandsons; and two great granddaughters.
Mrs. Shepard worked in the Attica School system as a teacher for over 20 years, was a homemaker and member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and banner making and letter writing.
The Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m., today, Dec. 22, 2000 at the Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge, TN., with The Rev. Vernon Sansom officiating. Graveside Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
Visitation hours are from 6-7:30 p.m., tonight, at the Mortuary.

Raina Alexus Swartz
Two- day- old baby
Raina Alexus Swartz, two days old, of 27 Coe St., Tiffin, died at 10:08 a.m. Thursday morning, Dec. 21, 2000 in Toledo Children's Hospital. She was born in Toledo Children's Hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000 to Brian and Carol (Leonard) Swartz of Tiffin, and they survive.
Also surviving include: a brother, Joseph Swartz; two sisters,
Allegra and Brianna Swartz, all of home; Grandparents are:
Ronald and Leslie Leonard, Greg and Sydney Swartz, both of Tiffin; Great grandparents are: Lillian Jordan, Robert and Rita Leonard and Albert and Dorothy Kingseed, and Patricia Swartz, all of Tiffin.
The Rev. Frank Murd will officiate the 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000 Graveside Services at St. Mary's Catholic cemetery in Tiffin. The Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Donald R. Mowery, 58, 333 W. Glenn St., Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Bettsville, was found dead at the home of his brother, Edward E. Mowery, at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000. Arrangements are pending at the Engle Funeral Home, Bettsville.
Zerah E. 'Bub' Hoover
Republic native
Zerah E. "Bub" Hoover, 77, of 2616 Eastwood Drive, Sandusky, died early Saturday morning, Dec. 23, 2000, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky, following a long illness.
He was born Oct. 23, 1923, in Republic, to Zerah E. and Leta (Meyer) Hoover. His wife, Jean (Ferback) Hoover, whom he married
Sept. 5, 1942, survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dennis M. (Barbara) King of Sandusky; two sons, Terry Hoover of Norwalk and Jim Hoover of Sandusky; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Chapman of Findlay; a brother, Leon "Buster" Hoover of Fremont; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were four sisters, Enid Patricia Diebert, Mary Fleming, Patricia Hemmerly and Doris Kellem; and seven brothers, Herbert, Clayton, Delbert, Donald, Henry, Thomas and Gene Hoover.
Mr. Hoover, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre on PT 469, retired in 1988 as president of Firelands Electric.
He was a member of Sandusky Baptist Temple, P.T. Boats Inc., particularly enjoying their reunions; and a life member of both American Legion Post 83 and the VFW.
He also enjoyed antique auctions.
The Rev. Wally Gilbert will be the officiant at the 10 a.m. Wednesday service in the Sandusky Baptist Temple. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Chapel, Huron.
Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Groff Funeral Home, Sandusky.

Angel Marie Emahiser-Hutchins
Infant daughter
Angel Marie Emahiser, daughter of Tracy Emahiser and David Hutchins of Circle Drive, Fostoria, was stillborn at 8:10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.
Survivors include her parents; a sibling, Chelsea Mae Hutchins of Tiffin; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Shirley Emahiser of Fostoria; maternal great-grandparents, Denton Goodin Jr. of Parkers Lake, Ky., and Dorothy Dull of Republic; paternal grandparents, Roland and Barbara Hutchins of Fostoria; and paternal great-grandparents, Dorothy McElhany of Fremont and Erma Hutchins of Fostoria.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria, with the Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite officiating.
There will be no visitation. The Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements.

John R. Haugh
Bureau of Employment retiree
John R. Haugh, 86, formerly of 393 W. CR 592, Tiffin, died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in Bethesda Care Center, Fremont, where he had resided since March 1999.
He was born June 17, 1914, in Clinton Township, Seneca County, to Arthur Calvin and Susie Enid (Loose) Haugh. On Aug. 1, 1937, in Bloomville, he married
Mildred Dee Parks. She died June 18, 1999.
Survivors include: three sons, Robert A. Haugh of Dayton, David Lee Haugh of San Clemente, Calif., and Stephen R. Haugh of rural Tiffin; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul R. Haugh of Tiffin.
Also preceding him in death were a brother, Arthur Haugh, who died at birth; and a sister, Mary Haugh, who died at 3 months.
Mr. Haugh, owner of Haugh's Apple Orchard, retired as manager of the Ohio Bureau of Employment Service in Fremont, after 18 years. He also retired from farming.
He taught Veterans Program Vocational Agriculture at Hopewell-Loudon School for 14 years.
A World War II U.S. Army-Air Corps veteran, having served 1942-45 in the North Africa and Italy Campaign, he graduated in 1932 from Old Fort High School, where he was inducted into the Old Fort High School Hall of Fame in 1932 as a state broad jump winner.
He was a member of Fort Seneca United Church of Christ and its Challengers Sunday School Class, Shiloh Grange, Airstream (Wally Byram Unit-Auglaize County); and the following Masonic Bodies: Tiffin Lodge 77 Free and Accepted Masons, Seneca Chapter 42, Clinton Council 47, Demolay Commandery 9, Past commander of Demolay Commandery 1978-79; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo; Seneca County Scottish Rite, Zenobia Shrine-Toledo; Zenobia Crusaders and the Tiffin Shrine Club.
Mr. Haugh also volunteered as a swimming instructor at the Tiffin Community YMCA for many years (with his wife as a team). He also was a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
The Rev. Barry Bordenkircher will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Thursday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home. A Knights Templar Commandery service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to church or Bethesda Care Center.
Martha J. Althar
Tiffin homemaker
Martha J. Althar, 81, 277 Meadowbrook Place, died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born Dec. 29, 1918, in Lykens, Ohio, to Martin and Pearl (Myers) Weaver. Her husband, Andrew K. Althar, whom she married
May 21, 1944, in St. John's Church, Tiffin, survives.
Survivors also include: a brother, Russell Weaver of Tiffin.
A sister, Lessie (Weaver) Vesey, also is deceased.
Mrs. Althar, a homemaker, also worked at Myers Drug, Bintz Dress Store in Fremont and at Mosser Construction as a receptionist and switchboard operator.
A graduate of Columbian High School, she was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
The Rev. David M. Culp will conduct the 2 p.m. Thursday service in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Edna Marie Coleman, 78, of 95 Hampden Park, died at 4:09 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

Former executive secretary
J. Marie Coleman, 78, 95 Hampden Park, died at 4:09 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
She was born Dec. 9, 1922, in Clark County, to James William and Maude May (Ward) Meenach. On March 17, 1956, in Springfield, she married
Lucian M. Coleman. He died Feb. 14, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Diane D.) Anderson of Republic; a stepson, Paul Coleman of Livonia Mich.; a stepsister, Dorothy (Dillahunt) Schaefer of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; a stepbrother, Earl Dillahunt of Xenia; two grandsons, a granddaughter and a stepgrandson.; and many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were her stepmother, Blanche Dillahunt Meenach; a brother, William Lamer Meenach; and a stepbrother, Harold Dillahunt.
Mrs. Coleman, a 1940 graduate of Plattsburg High School, attended Springfield Business College. She worked as a secretary at Mast-Foos Mfg. Co. in Springfield; as a secretary to the president at Thermometer Corp. of America from 1952-58; and as a corporate secretary of Atcole Co. Inc., founded by her husband.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and while living in Springfield a member of Alpha Epsilon chapter of Omega Sigma Sorority, a national business women's sorority sponsoring leader dogs for the blind.
She also was a member of Springfield Advertising Club, National Premium Sales Executive, American Business Women's Association since 1956 and American Association of Retired Persons.
While employed as a secretary at Mast Foos Mfg. Co. the owner presented her and other employees with new 1950 Fords. She represented the office employees and gave the acceptance speech. The event was covered by Life Magazine.
The Rev. Frank A. Murd will be the officiant at the 1 p.m. Wednesday service in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be noon Wednesday until time of the service at the funeral home.

Luke Eugene Wise
Nursing home restorative aide
Luke Eugene Wise, 58, died at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at his residence at 210 East St., Republic.
He was born Nov. 8, 1942, in Tiffin, to the late Henry and Loretta (Roth) Wise.
Surviving are: two brothers, Ambrose Wise of Tiffin and Jim Wise of McCutchenville; four sisters, Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Kimmet of Kansas, Ohio, Sister Marie Catherine Wise RSM of Tiffin, Mrs. James (Imelda) Clouse of New Riegel and Mrs. Bernard (Alma) Wurm of Bloomville.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Louis and Bernard Wise; and three sisters, Adaline Heitz, Kathleen and Henrietta Wise.
Mr. Wise, a graduate of Calvert High School, was employed as a restorative aide at the former St. Catherine's Care Center (now Ruffing Family Care Center) in Tiffin.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Republic.
The Rev. Joseph Szybka will be the officiant at the 10 a.m. Friday funeral Mass in St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic cemetery, Tiffin.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home and 9-10 a.m. Friday at St. Aloysius Church. A wake service will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Irene L. Siebenaller, 79, of Wauwatosa, Wis., died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in the Lutheran Home, Wauwatosa.
She was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Seneca County, to Albert and Edna (McConaghy) Smith. On Dec. 4, 1943, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married
John Emmert Siebenaller. He died Feb. 4, 2000.
A daughter, Dr. Edmund (Ann) Duthie of Milwaukee, Wis.; and three grandchildren, survive.
A brother, Donald Smith, also is deceased.
Mrs. Siebenaller, a homemaker, also was employed as a secretary.
A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was a graduate of Columbian High School and attended Tiffin University.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Francis Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Dunn officiating.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Thursday in St. Francis Home Chapel.
