Myrtle R. St. John

Myrtle R. St. John, 95, 1521 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, died at 10:10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
She was born July 11, 1905, in Toledo, to James and Clara (Bisonette) Flynn. Her husband, George E. St. John, whom she married
Oct. 20, 1920, in Port Clinton, died April 12, 1985.
Survivors include: a daughter, Joellen Youster of Fostoria; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, June Ohm of Arlington and Lillian Witter of Los Angeles, Calif.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Isabelle Neatfeld and Dolores Hart; a grandson, Tim VanCourt; and a granddaughter, Susan Albrecht.
A homemaker, Mrs. St. John was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in LaCarne cemetery, LaCarne, Ohio.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at 10:30 Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the church of St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
Catherine Mae Krause
General Motors retiree
Catherine Mae "Aunt Kate" Krause, 82, formerly of Cleveland and Glenwood Avenue, Fostoria, died at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, in St. Catherine's Care Center, 25 Christopher Drive, Fostoria, where she resided.
She was born Feb. 19, 1918, in Bellevue, to Andrew and Marie (Schaeffer) Frankart. Her husband, Otto A. Krause, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Marian Flicker of Fostoria and Mrs. Evelyn Perse of Marblehead.
A brother, Earl W. Frankart, also is deceased.
Mrs. Krause, a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, and the UAW of Cleveland, was employed in the Propshaft Department at General Motors, Cleveland, for 25 years, retiring in 1975.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment will be in the Bellevue cemetery, Bellevue.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the church.
Geraldine O. Garrett
Retired homemaker
Geraldine O. Garrett, 86, a resident of the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 725 Columbus Ave., Fostoria, died there at 3:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2000.
She was born Sept. 17, 1914, in Bowling Green, to Orville and Flora (Stacy) Ward. Her husband of 65 years, Richard E. Garrett, survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: two sons, Robert W. Garrett of Uniontown, Pa., and Douglas R. Garrett of Boca Raton, Fla.; three half brothers, Richard Ward of Atlanta, Ga., John and William Ward, both of Bowling Green; a brother, Robert Ward of Dayton; a sister, Helen Davenport of Fremont; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A brother, Howard Ward, and a sister, Mary Miller, also are deceased.
Mrs. Garrett, a homemaker, was a graduate of Bowling Green High School.
A member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Fire Department Auxiliary, which she had served as president, she was a past member of Mothers for Little League and Mothers for Schools, all of Bowling Green.
The Rev. Larry Swaisgood will be the officiant at the 10 a.m. Tuesday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery, Bowling Green.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. until time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Troy N. Smith
Self-employed carpenter
Troy N. Smith, 73, of West Maple Street, Clyde, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.
He was born Feb. 22, 1927, in Washington County, Va., to William Lucas and Winnie M. (Sweet) Smith. On June 27, 1953, he married
Norma J. Fry. She survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Carolyn) Farrar of Clyde and Denise Marie Smith Riley of Georgia; three grandchildren; his twin brother, Greer Smith of Clyde; and five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Morrow of Ashville, N.C., Mrs. David (Ruth) Montgomery of Abington, Va., Mrs. Lewis (Algernie) Dooley of Buffalo, W.Va., Mrs. Fredrick (Pauline) Koening and Mrs. William (Bessie) Watts, both of Charleston, S.C.
Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Ray, who died in Normandy during World War II, Kyle, Grant and W.L Smith.
Mr. Smith, who received his education in the Alvarado Schools in Virginia, was employed as a carpenter for Troy Smith Builders.
A member of the Fremont Alliance Church, he enjoyed restoring antique cars.
He had lived in the Clyde area since 1950.
The Rev. Paul Miller will conduct the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday service in the Fremont Alliance Church. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.

John F. Moyer
Seneca County native
John F. Moyer, 70, of Hillsboro, Ill., died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in the Hillsboro Area Hospital.
He was born Feb. 20, 1930, in Seneca County, to the late Russell M. and Margaret A. (Hansen) Moyer. His wife, Alice M. (Sipes) Moyer, whom he married
Feb. 18, 1973, survives.
Other survivors include: six sons, William Moyer of New Washington, Dale Moyer of San Diego, Calif., Eugene Moyer of Galion, Carl Moyer of Shelby, David Moyer of Crestline and John Moyer of Hillsboro, Ill.; five daughters, Mrs. Allan (Irene) Kapp and Mrs. Robert (Connie) Streff, both of Mansfield, Mrs. Joe (Laura) Crum of Iberia, Ohio, Barbara Moyer of Shelby and Mrs. Michael (Deborah) Conlee, also of Hillsboro, Ill.; 25 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Russell "Ed" Moyer of Willard, Melvin Moyer of Fremont, Donald Moyer of Norwalk and Harold Moyer of Republic; and two sisters, Clara Joseph of Bellevue and Carol McAninch of Charlotte, N.C.
A son, Christopher; a daughter, Susan; and a brother, Dale Moyer, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Moyer, a graduate of Republic High School, was a farmer and also worked as an inspector for Diamond Meat Packaging and as a truck driver for Moyer Trucking, until his retirement.
He was a member of the Wares Grove Lutheran Church and the Montgomery County Farm Bureau.
He moved to Hillsboro, Ill. in 1971 from Crawford County.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Snyder Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, with Pastor Ed Wahl officiating. Burial will be in Shauck cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
E. Marie Rine
Homemaker/former factory employee
E. Marie Rine, 90, formerly of Bertha Avenue, Clyde, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, in the Arbors of Clyde.
She was born June 18, 1910, in Adams Township, Seneca County, to John A. and Mary (Sparks) Hopple. On Dec. 15, 1937, she married
Alvin Rine, who preceded her in death in September 1967.
Nieces and nephews survive.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers and sisters, Hattie and Hattied Baldosser, Earl Hopple and Clare deWitt Hopple.
Mrs. Rine, a homemaker, also worked at the Unitex Mfg. in Attica and Tiffin and at the Howard Zink Co. in Fremont
A resident of Clyde since 1951, she was a member of Republic United Church of Christ.
She attended Adams Township School and Metzger School and graduated in 1929 from Republic High School..
The Rev. Jeff King will be the officiant at the 1 p.m. Wednesday service in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Interment will be in St. Jacobs cemetery, Adams Township.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Fredrick 'Fred' Kuhn
Native of Tiffin
Fredrick "Fred" Kuhn, 90, formerly of 1412 River St., Fremont, died Friday, Dec.1, 2000, in the Valley View Health Care Center, Fremont.
He was born Feb. 28, 1910, in Tiffin, to Louis and Victoria (Ranker) Kuhn. On May 10, 1944, he married
Margaret Banks, who died March 18, 1994.
Survivors include: a son, John Kuhn of New Port Richey, Fla.; a daughter, Norma Jean Hicks of Kentucky; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Eight sisters, Anna Louise, Rosetta and Loretta Kuhn, Theresa Myslinski, Rita Mosser, Margaret Mary Angelone, Mary Uhlbeck and Ruth Ann Zimmerman; and two brothers, Robert and James Kuhn., also are deceased.
Mr. Kuhn, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, was the owner/operator of the former Kuhn Insurance Agency.
A member of St. Ann Catholic Community Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Fremont, he attended St. Ann School.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Ann Catholic Community Church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, Fremont, where a wake service will take place at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Virginia Smarage
Clyde homemaker
Virginia Smarage, 66, of South Main Street, Clyde, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, in the Bellevue Hospital.
She was born March 24, 1934, in Dearborn, Mich., to the late Edward Theodore and Martha (Rhoade) Simcox. Her husband, Carlton Smarage, whom she married
March 14, 1964, died Dec. 28, 1996.
Surviving are her special friend, Melvin Jacobs of Fremont; a step-son, Carl W. Smarage of Tiffin; a step-daughter, Barbara Stratton of Bellevue; a brother, Les Simcox of Michigan and a sister, Leona Muse of Big Pine Key, Fla.
Mrs. Smarage, a homemaker, received her education in the Michigan Schools.
The Rev. Mark Gibbs will conduct the 10:30 a.m. Thursday service in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Raymond C. Lang
Roppe Corp. retiree
Raymond C. Lang, 72, of Poplar Street, Bascom, died at his home at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000.
He was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Wood County, to the late Arthur and Theresa (Filliater) Lang. On June 30, 1951, in Carey, he married
Ellen Atkins, who survives in Bascom.
Other survivors include: three sons, Bruce R. Lang of Tiffin, Mark A. Lang of Fostoria and Christopher L. Lang of Bascom; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Suzette) Baker of Fostoria; five brothers, Gilbert Lang of Fostoria, Norbert Lang of Carey, Alvin Lang of Bascom, Robert and Wilbur Lang, both of Tiffin; four sisters, Helen Fleck of Hollywood, Fla., Pauline Lang of Marion, Margaret Elchert of New Riegel and Donna Newlove of Fostoria; and five grandchildren.
An infant brother, also is deceased.
Mr. Lang, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, had been employed at the Roppe Corp. in Fostoria for 30 years, retiring in February 1990. He also was employed at Meadowbrook Park in Bascom, retiring in February 2000, after 49 years of employment.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom and the Fostoria Eagles Club.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Art Niewiadomski as celebrant. Burial will be in Sand Ridge cemetery, Bascom.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Scripture service will take place at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Home Health Care and Community Hospice, both of Tiffin or a charity of the donor's choice.
Gary D. Wilson
Construction worker
Gary D. Wilson, 31, of South West Street, Bradner, died at 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in Lawrence County, Ironton, near Kitts Hill.
He was born July 31, 1969, in Marion, to Eugene F. and Ida M. (Cochran) Wilson. His father survives in Green Springs. He had never married
.
Survivors also include: a son, Shawnee Matthew James of North Carolina; and 10 sisters, Sharon Hazlett of North Carolina, Rita Starr of Ironton, Linda Jurovcik of Fremont, Jeannie Cronin of East Liverpool, Donna Ellis and Sue Piper, both of Fremont, Debbie Goins and Paula Ellis, both of Marion and Terry Kiser and Mary May, both of Fremont.
His mother; and a brother, Anthony "Tony" Ellis, also are deceased.
Mr. Wilson, who had formerly lived in Fremont, was employed in construction.
The family will receive friends 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.
Martha M. Miller
Retired homemaker
Martha M. Miller, 88, formerly of 803 Marseilles Ave., Upper Sandusky, died at 2:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, in the Fairhaven Health Care Community, Upper Sandusky, where she had been a resident since 1997.
She was born Dec. 2, 1912, in Little Sandusky, to Franklin Noah and Myrta Edna (Montee) Swinehart. On July 8, 1939, she married
Cyril S. Miller, who preceded her in death March 17, 1988.
Surviving are a son, David W. Miller of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Kathleen) Schindler of Columbus; and a grandson.
She also was preceded in death by six siblings, Thomas, James, Benjamin and Helen Swinehart, Ruthanna Niederhouse and Dorothy Hunter.
A homemaker, Mrs. Miller also worked for many years at the Dairy Snack Drive Thru.
She was a member of John Stewart United Methodist Church, Upper Sandusky, and its Myrta Moody-Grace Davis Circle, served as a former Sunday School teacher and helped with the church bazaar.
A 1930 graduate of Harpster High School, she also was a member of Harpster Mother's Club and the Usando Literary Club.
She enjoyed flower gardening, feeding and watching birds, cooking, baking, reading, poetry, crossword puzzles and writing in her diary.
The Rev. Wayne Geissinger will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Friday service in the Bringman-Clark and Company Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
