Opal Stark
Former nursing home employee
Opal Stark, 76, formerly of 348 Grove St., Carey, died at 11:57 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in the Eaglewood Care Center of Carey, where she resided.
She was born April 14, 1924, in Wyandot County, to Robert Lincoln and Ruth (Starr) Tong. On Jan. 18, 1944, she married
Aloys Nicholas Stark, who died Feb. 10, 1971.
Surviving are a son, David Stark of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Waldo (Diane) Gallegos of Tucson, Ariz.; a grandchild; and three brothers, Lester Tong of rural Findlay and Cecil and Glen Tong, both of Carey.
Two sisters, Dorcas Donaldson and Katherine Fry, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Stark, a 1941 graduate of Carey High School, was formerly employed at the Wyandot County Nursing Home, rural Upper Sandusky.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehova's Witnesses of Upper Sandusky.
The body has been cremated. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.
The Beach Funeral Home of Carey is in charge of arrangements.

John William Behrendsen
Sandusky/Cedar Point fireman
John William Behrendsen, 77, of 1912 W. McPherson, Clyde, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in St. Charles Mercy Hospital, Oregon, Ohio.
He was born Feb. 10, 1923, in Sandusky, to Andrew and Doris (Liebacher) Behrendsen. His wife, Evelyn (Hardin) Behrendsen, survives in Kennesau, Ga.
Other survivors include: three sons, Jack Behrendsen of Catawba Island, James Behrendsen of Clyde and David Behrendsen of Sandusky; a step-son, Dennis Martin of Georgia; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Sue) Bower of Clyde; two step-daughters, Tonya Mayros of Georgia and Cindy Martin Whited of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Behrendsen of Ashland.
A brother, Wayne Behrendsen, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Behrendsen, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, having served Jan. 14, 1943-Jan. 13, 1946, was employed as a fireman for the City of Sandusky and at Cedar Point.
A graduate of Sandusky High School, he was a life member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion, both of Sandusky.
The Rev. Richard Mick of Lighthouse Baptist Church, will be the officiant at the 2 p.m. Wednesday service in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Interment will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.
Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Clemence M. Vogel
Tiffin /Bloomville centenarian
Clemence M. Vogel, 100, of 781 Greenfield St., Apt. 130 (Seneca House), and former Seymour, Ind. resident, died Monday morning, Oct. 16, 2000, in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, following a sudden illness.
She was born July 5, 1900, in Seymour, to Mitchel and Lola (Adams) Hunt. On Nov. 25, 1920, in Seymour, she married
Edwin Vogel, who preceded her in death in July 1968.
Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. David (Barbara) Jacoby and Mrs. Nadine Gates, both of Bloomville; and several nieces and nephews in Seymour.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Roy Hunt; and two sisters, Gladys Foist and Bernice Miller.
A resident of the Bloomville and Tiffin area for three years, she was a member of Seymour First United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Riverview cemetery, Seymour, Ind..
Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 SR 19, Bloomville, who are in charge of local arrangements.
Helen M. Cleveland
Former grocery store clerk
Helen M. Cleveland, 92, formerly of 93 Liberty St., died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, in St. Francis Home.
She was born Oct. 17, 1908, in Hagerstown, Md., to Emery and Ida (Fox) McCoy. On Nov. 27, 1928, she married
Hugh O. Cleveland, who preceded her in death in 1974.
Survivors include: two sons, John Cleveland of Tiffin and Thomas Cleveland of Elephant Butte, N.M.; two daughters, Mrs. Irving (Joan) Moulton of Perrysburg and Mrs. Clarence (Betty) Fry of Tiffin; a half-sister, Mildred Eidt of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Carl, Earl and Clifford McCoy; a sister, Hazel Thompson; a half-brother, Vernon Baker; a half-sister, Evelyn Baker; and a granddaughter.
Mrs. Cleveland, a member of the First Baptist Church, had been employed as a clerk for many years at the Berner and Flechtner Grocery Store.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mary Dellinger
Former Bellevue homemaker
Mary Dellinger, 73, formerly of Bellevue and Catawba Island, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in Mercy of St. Theresa, Cincinnati.
She was born April 1, 1927, in Chillicothe, to James and Alice (Bennett) London. On Oct. 17, 1947, she married
Donald James Dellinger, who preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1991.
Surviving are four children, Mrs. Alan (Lynn) Smith of Alexandria, Va., Mrs. Michael (Kay) Callaghan of Cincinnati, James Dellinger of Long Beach, Calif. and Mrs. Jay (Cindy) Johannigman, also of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters, Jim London of Florida, Bill London of Las Angeles, Calif., Gene London, Carol London of West Virginia, Bev Neff of Chillicothe and Barb Myers of Florida.
A sister, Genievive London, also is deceased.
Mrs. Dellinger, a homemaker, was a 1944 graduate of York High School.
The Rev. Douglas Lewis will be the officiant at the 3:30 p.m. Saturday service in the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue. Interment will be in Ellsworth cemetery.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Rev. Dr. Reber Bright
Former Bloomville UMC pastor
The Rev. Dr. Reber Bright died at his home, 1311 Grandstaff Ave., Lancaster, Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000.
He was born March 9, 1917, in Lancaster.
Survivors include: his wife Maxine, whom he married
Sept. 12, 1938; three sons, John, Ron and Neil; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Bright served Bloomville United Methodist Church from 1970-76. He received his doctorate from Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio, during this time.
Bloomville UMC has established a Reber Bright Scholarship Fund at the Methodist Theological School. Memorials can be made there.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Maple Street United Methodist Church in Lancaster.
Alyce Jo Kidder
Mother of Tiffin residents
Alyce Jo "Jodie" Kidder, 57, of Ridgewood Court, Marietta, died at 6:30 a.m. Oct. 11, 2000, at Mount Carmel Hospital East, Columbus.
She was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Marietta to Ernest and Florence Babcock Flowers. She was a graduate of Marietta High School and worked as a nurse's aide at Marietta Memorial Hospital and then in the home care division of Seneca County Health Department.
She is survived by her husband, John; three sons, David Thomas of Tiffin, John Kidder II and Gary Kidder, both of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Greg (Tammy) Rumschlag of Tiffin and Patricia Ann Jones; seven grandchildren; a brother, James Flowers of Gettysburg, Pa.; five sisters, Mrs. William (Wanda) Beeney, Mrs. James (Marilyn) Mullinex and Jackie Hockenberry, all of Marietta, Mrs. David (Virginia) Benham of Moundsville, W.Va., and Mrs. Larry (Pat) Ice of Lebanon, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bruce Ernest Flowers.
Services were Oct. 14 at McClure-Schafer Funeral Home in Marietta with the Rev. Russell Ice officiating. Burial was in Gravel Bank cemetery.

Agnes E. Harrer
Former New Washington homemaker
Agnes E. Harrer, 92, formerly of New Washington, died Oct. 19, 2000 at the Ruffing Family Care Center in Bloomville. She was born March 11, 1908 to Franklin F. and Ada B. (Kessler) Maul. On Feb. 10, 1932 she married
Florin Harrer, and he died Jan. 3, 1959.
Surviving include: a daughter, Mrs. Beverly A. Brundage of Tiffin; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna M. Maul and Mae I. Kark; and a niece, Marilyn Green.
Mrs. Harrer was a homemaker and member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, and member of Circle Group with the church in New Washington.
The Private Service will be held Saturday at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington. Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran cemetery.

LaVerne S. Schneider
Tiffin resident
LaVerne S. Schneider, 87, of St. Francis Home, Tiffin, died on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000. She was born on June 20, 1913. Her husband, Adel J. Schneider, of 50 years, preceded her in death.
Surviving include: two sons, Jim and Dan Schneider; a daughter, Joy Rose of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
The Rev. Judy Claycomb will officiate the 10 a.m. Saturday funeral service at Jardine Funeral Home, 14701 Pearl Rd., Strongsville. Burial will be at Strongsville cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 5-9 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.

Pearl E. "Dingle" French
Fostoria resident
Pearl E. "Dingle" French, 82, of Christopher Drive, Fostoria, died at 2:12 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000 at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria. She was born Aug. 26, 1918 in Rising Sun to Leland and Elsie (Steinhurst) Beeson. On Feb. 28, 1942 she married
Wilbur "Red" French, he died in 1971.
Surviving include: several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Bill Beeson; and two sisters, Ruth Dawson and Virginia Heistand.
Mrs. French was a 1936 graduate of Fostoria High School. She retired from Bersted & Fostoria Industries, both in Fostoria. Past President of Fostoria VFW Ladies Auxiliary and member of Fostoria Eagle's Ladies Auxiliary.
The Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite will officiate the 1 p.m. Monday graveside services at Fountain cemetery in Fostoria.
There are no visitation hours scheduled.
Arrangements are being handled by the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home.

Ofelia Ysasi

Ofelia Ysasi, 77, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at her home at 1117 N. TR 21, Fostoria.
She was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Robstown, Texas, to Rafael and Paula (Abrego) Ysasi.
Survivors include: four sons, Jose Luis Galvan of Fremont, Rene Valdez of California, Librado Valdez of Fostoria and Paulino Valdez, also of California; four daughters, Lydia Garza, Maria L. Galvan and Maria Arias, all of California and Yolanda Martinez of Texas; 36 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, David and Robert Ysasi, both of Texas.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Ricardo Garza; three brothers, Victor, Rafael and Jose Ysasi; and two sisters, Josephine Martinez and Delfina Garcia.
Mrs. Ysasi, a homemaker and farm worker, was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Fremont.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Clara Zerilda Croy
Mercy Hospital retiree
Clara Zerilda Croy, 84, formerly of 188 Huss St., died at 11:40 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, in St. Francis Home.
She was born June 30, 1916, in Kenton, to Edward and Clara (Marquart) Friedel. On April 21, 1938, in Kenton, she married
Glenn A. Croy, who survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Gary L. Croy of Berea and James E. Croy of Westerville; a brother, Eugene Friedel of Lima; a sister, Kathleen Angier of Kenton; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Croy, a Kenton high school graduate, had been employed as a bookeeper at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Keith Stripe as celebrant. The rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 8:45 p.m.
