Mildred E. Earick
Bloomville resident
Mildred E. Earick, 92, of 15 W. New Haven St., Bloomville, died Thursday morning, Oct. 12, 2000, at the Ruffing Family Care Center in Bloomville. She was born June 21, 1908 in Melmore, to Fred A. and Bessie (Richard) Frankenfield. On July 3, 1933, she married
Harlan Earick in Indiana, and he died July 26, 1988.
Survivors include: a sister, Velma Armitage of Tiffin; three nieces; and six nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son.
Mrs. Earick was a member of the Bloomville United Church of Christ and Luella Chapter 223 OES of Bloomville. She was the secretary for France Stone Company in Bloomville for many years.
The funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, with the Rev. Diane Grohmann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 12 noon until the time of service.
Memorials may be made to the church.
John Calvin Carter
Veteran, retired butcher
John Calvin Carter, 87, of 182 St. Francis Ave., and formerly of Gross Street, died at 7:58 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at St. Francis Home. He was born May 30, 1913, to Thomas and Margaret (Starkey) Carter. On March 20, 1947, he married
Myra Dutnell. She died Oct. 15, 1994.
Surviving are: two daughters, Dianne M. Pytel of Tiffin and Mrs. Patricia Hamker of Grafton; a brother, Bruce Carter of Sandusky; two sisters, Adaline Taggert of Cambridge and Margaret Hopkins of Cadiz; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and six sisters.
Mr. Carter was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. A butcher for Pentons Country Market in Amherst, he retired to Tiffin in 1985. He cooked for the annual spaghetti dinners and lawn fete for St. John's United Church of Christ, of which he was a member.
The Rev. David M. Culp will officiate the private services. Burial will be at the Greenlawn cemetery.
There are no visitation hours. The Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Donna Grace Allison
Former Tiffin resident
Donna Grace Allison, 68, formerly of Tiffin, living with her daughter in Liberty, Ind., died at her home Thursday evening, Oct. 12, 2000. She was born Nov. 28, 1931, to Vincent and Sylvia Westbrook Selvaggio. Her husband, Willis Allison, died May 4, 1984.
Surviving are: six daughters, Mrs. Sherri Spitzer of Marion, Lore Bowman of Mansfield, Camille "Candy" Schuck of Tiffin, Mrs. Michelle Schuck of Liberty, Ind., Mrs. Valerie Hoepf of Republic, and Mrs. Vicki Partin of Lucas; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Sherry.
Mrs. Allison graduated from Strongsville High School and went to Case Western Reserve University for two years. She was an in-home nurse, retiring in 1996. She also did private duty nursing, was an intern in the medical personnel pool and a member of the Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary.
Private services will be Monday, with The Rev. David Garman, chaplain of the Reid Hospital Hospice officiating. Burial will be at West Point cemetery, Liberty, Ind.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or Reid Hospital Foundation for Hospice in her memory.

Robert G. Wilkinson
Former R.R. Donnelley employee
Robert G. Wilkinson, 65, of Egypt Road, Centerton, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at his home, following a long illness. He was born Feb. 18, 1935, in Hocking County to Harry and Bertha (Johnson) Wilkinson. They are deceased.
He moved to Willard from Attica in 1946. On Sept. 15, 1956, he married
Nedra Reed. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Darrell and Eric Wilkinson, both of Willard; a daughter, Mrs. Jackie Newmyer of Willard; three brothers, Joe Wilkinson of North Ridgeville, Paul Wilkinson of Huron and Jack Wilkinson of Willard; three sisters, June Bonham of Attica, Janet Stanfield of Bradenton, Fla., and Jean Van Zoest of Willard; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wilkinson was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard and a journeyman at R.R. Donnelley's & Sons Co. of Willard.
Pastor Kent Wilson will officiate the 11 a.m. Tuesday service at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran cemetery.
Visitation hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Secor Funeral home in Willard.

Victor F. Smith
Former Republic Locker owner
Victor F. Smith, 82, of 11901 Potter Road, Bellevue, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Firelands Community Hospital, Sandusky. He was born June 27, 1918, to Frederick and Mary (Herrig) Smith. On Nov. 25, 1967 he married
Rose Williams (Brandstrup) Smith. She survives.
Other survivors include: two stepsons, Ronald Brandstrup of Bellevue and Chris Brandstrup of Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Rose Ann Sberna, and Marcia Loparo, both of Bellevue; a sister, Mildred Dick; six step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were: three brothers, Thomas, William and Edward Smith; and a sister, Anna Dick.
Mr. Smith attended Assumption School in Reed, was the former owner of Republic Meat Locker and Smity's Tavern in Genoa and the former owner of Smith's House of Gifts in Sandusky. Memberships included: Immaculate Conception Church; Life member Elks; Moose; Jim Beam Club; and IAB of Sandusky. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
The Rev. Robert Tucerri will officiate the 1 p.m. Monday funeral at Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue. Burial will be at Bellevue Catholic cemetery.
Visitation hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Foos & Sons Funeral Home, Bellevue. The rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception School.
Mary Catherine Gregg
Retired home economist
Mary Catherine Gregg, 76, of Vine Street, Clyde, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at Arbors of Clyde. She was born May 8, 1924, to J. R. and Helen (Wilcox) Potter. On March 23, 1943, she married
James F. McFarland. He died Jan. 23, 1945, in France during World War II. She married
Bernard A. Gregg Feb. 11, 1954. He died Feb. 28, 2000.
Surviving are a son, David Gregg of Clyde; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son, John Gregg, and a brother, Robert Wilcox.
Mrs. Gregg graduated from Northville High School in 1940 and from Michigan State College with a home economics degree in 1945. She did dietetic internship at the University of Michigan from August 1945 to August 1946. She was a York School teacher 1967-68 then a food service instructor at Vanguard 1968-1980, when she retired. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Sandusky County Retired Teachers Association.
The Rev. Alex McLean will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Monday service at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will be at McPherson cemetery.
Visitation hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Butler R. Stephens
General Electric retiree
Butler R. Stephens, 81, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at his home at 94 Minerva St.
He was born June 12, 1919, in Pine Knot, Ky., to Edward and Ollie (Garland) Stephens. His wife, Betty Mae (Fulton) Stephens, whom he married
March 15, 1942, in State College, Pa., preceded him in death Aug. 12, 1993.
Surviving are four sons, Larry D., Wayne A. and Butler R. Jr. Stephens, all of Tiffin, and Mark R. Stephens of Land O' Lakes, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. James (Christine B.) Rettig of Holgate; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Steinhauser of Sunman, Ind.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Daniel and T.J. Stephens; and two sisters, Florida Philpot and Doris Stephens, who died in infancy.
Mr. Stephens, who had resided in the Tiffin area for 55 years, coming here from Wilmington, N.C., retired as a welder from the General Electric, after 34 years of service.
A 1939 graduate of the Tiffin Junior Home, he was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Tiffin VFW Post 2858 and the Junior Order United American Mechanics.
He served in the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet during World War II on the ship USS Peiffer. He also was an avid New York Yankees fan.
The Rev. Margaret Marks will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Monday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Esther B. Young
Chamber of Commerce office manager
Esther B. Young, 84, 41 Westwood Drive, died at 10:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in the Fairhaven Community Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky.
She was born July 28, 1916, in Fremont, to Troy and Anna (Shoemaker) Mulholland. On July 1, 1939, in Fremont Trinity Evangelical Church, she married
Russell H. Young, who preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1985.
Surviving are a son, Thomas R. Young of Upper Sandusky; two grandchildren, Thomas R. Young Jr. of Lebanon and Kristi L Kirkham of Cincinnati; and nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Gerald Mulholland; and a sister, Lois Pickett.
Mrs. Young worked in the planning and scheduling department of the National Carbon Co. in Fremont for eight and a half years, then moved to Tiffin and worked for Dr. Avery Powell as secretary/receptionist for eight years. She later worked for and retired as an office manager from the Tiffin Area Chamber of Commerce, where she had been employed for 12 years.
A graduate of Fremont High School, where she was a member of its National Honor Society, she also was a member of Dendarah Court 10, L.O.S.N.A. of Toledo and the Tiffin Club of Dendarah Court 10, where she served as past president.
She also was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she served as past member of both the Board of Trustees and the Pastor Parish Committee.
The Rev. Gail Angel will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday service in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the church, Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children or Shriners Burns Institute.
Dorothy Little
Beauty shop owner/operator
Dorothy Little, 85, died early Sunday morning, Oct. 15, 2000, in the Autumnwood Care Center.
She was born June 14, 1915, in Watson Station, to Charles and Clyda (Gilbert) Miller. Her husband, Forest Little, whom she married
Oct. 31, 1934, in Tiffin, died Sept. 23, 1999.
Survivors include: a nephew, Robert Miller of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Glenn Miller; and two sisters, Nina Ohler and Ruth Savial.
A1934 graduate of Old Fort High School, Mrs. Little was a homemaker and owner/operator of a beauty shop in Fremont.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Oakwood Cemtery. The Nopper-Karlovetz Mortuary, Fremont, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Robert L. 'Boobie' Sours
Basic retiree/OSU fan
Robert L. "Boobie" Sours, 64, 108 Ann St., died at 6:55 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in the Bellevue Hospital.
He was born Feb. 21, 1936, in Seneca County, to Casper and Beulah (Rau) Sours. His mother survives in Tiffin. On Feb. 21, 1959, in Baseline Church, Seneca County, he married
Marjorie A. Miller, who survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Roger E. and Edward L. Sours, both of Tiffin; a brother, Larry Sours of Maple Grove; a sister, Mrs. Dennis (Linda) Wilhelm of Tiffin; and five grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were his father; and a brother, James Sours.
Mr. Sours, a 1954 graduate of Columbian High School, had been employed as a chemical operator for Premier Services Corp. (Basic).
An avid Ohio State University fan, he was a member of the Protestant Faith, Eagles 402 and AMVETS Post 48, both of Tiffin.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Home, with the Rev. Scott Hayward officiating. Burial will be in Bethel-South Bend cemetery, McCutchenville.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where Eagles services will be at 7:30 p.m.

Mildred A. Lucius

Mildred A. Lucius, 91, formerly of 166 S. Monroe St., died at 10:43 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in St. Francis Home.
She was born Feb. 22, 1909, in Carey, to George and Mary (Voelker) Fox. Her husband, Aloysius J. Lucius, whom she married
Nov. 19, 1929, in St. Patrick Church, Bascom, died Nov. 22, 1981.
Survivors include: six sons, Vincent, Ralph, Leonard, Harold and Herman Lucius, all of Tiffin and Mark Lucius of Findlay; seven daughters, Mrs. Willard (Mary Jo) Cramer of Bucyrus, Mrs. Keith (Theresa) Ziegler of McCutchenville, Mrs. Thomas (Oleta) Miller of Republic, Marie Taylor of Columbus, Mrs. Herman (Inez) Lauterbur, Mrs. John (Viola) Ink and Mrs. John (Leona) Mogle, all of Tiffin; 51 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Cletus, Walter and Robert Fox; and three grandchildren.
A homemaker, Mrs. Lucius was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society and St. Francis Auxiliary.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Msgr Edward Dunn as celebrant. The rosary will be recited at the church 15 minutes prior to the Mass Thursday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.
