Carol M. Lehman, 58, of 433 E. Findley St., Upper Sandusky, died at her resident at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2000.
She was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Upper Sandusky to L. Rudolph and Liloise (Lanier) Drew. She married
Gary L. Lehman Aug. 23, 1966, in Upper Sandusky.
Survivors include: her husband; two daughters, Susan Baker of Chargin Falls and Angela Brose of Akron; two grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters.
Her parents are deceased.
Mrs. Lehman was a registered nurse.
There will be private graveside rites at the Old Mission with the Rev. Cathy Wirth officiating.

Eleazer 'Al' Reesman
Retired railroad worker
Eleazer "Al" Reesman, 70, of 16083 E. TR 136, Bellevue, died in Bellevue Hospital Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, after a long illness.
He was born April 5, 1930, in Punxsutawney, Pa., to David C. and Catherine (Rhapps) Reesman. He married
Marigrace Stolz Feb. 12, 1955, at Anita, Pa. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, David A. Reesman of Scott Air Force Base, Belleville, Ill.; four daughters, Mrs. William (Catherine M.) Dearsman of Bellevue, Mrs. Ken (Roberta) Sax of Norwalk; Mrs. John (Cynthia) Pleer of Monroeville and Mrs. Jim (Patricia) Krause of Republic; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Ann Levy of Punxsutawney, Pa., and Agnes "Dolly" Hanbey of Tucson, Ariz.
Preceding him in death were a grandson, Joey Gillum, and a brother, William Reesman.
He was an U.S. Army veteran serving as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne; was employed with the Norfolk and Southern and the Nickel Plate Railroad, retiring in 1990 after 33 years of employment; a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Marywood, the Bellevue V.F.W. Post 1238 and the Angels Paratrooper Club of the 11th Airborne; enjoyed woodworking, building model cars, collecting guns and belt buckles and target shooting.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in St. Michael's Church with the Rev. John M. Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's cemetery, Marywood.

Corrine C. Thom
Rural Tiffin homemaker
Corrine C. Thom, 81, 2121 S. TR 119, died at 8:25 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
She was born Dec. 29, 1918, in Adrian, to Isadore H. and Estella (Williams) Tiell. On Dec. 29, 1945, in St. Boniface Church, New Riegel, she married
Charles V. Thom, who died Aug. 18.
Survivors include: two sons, William C. and John A. Thom, both of Tiffin; two daughters, Mrs. John T. (Martha A.) Fiegelist of Tiffin and Joan M. Thom of Toledo; a sister, Luella Huelskamp of New Riegel; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
A brother, Paul L. Tiell Sr., also is deceased.
Mrs. Thom, a homemaker, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Mall Workers.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating. The rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Boniface cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 8:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Church, Community Hospice Care or a charity of the donor's choice.
Amos Hiser
Fostoria native
Amos Hiser, 84, of Mineola, Texas, formerly of McCutchenville, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, in Texas.
He was born Dec. 12, 1915, in Fostoria, to Marion Boyd and Edna (Amos) Hiser. His wife, Marjorie (Might) Hiser, also is deceased.
Survivors include: a son, Gary Hiser of Mineola; a grandchild; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Hiser of Fostoria.
Also preceding him in death were a son, Ned Hiser; a sister, Cecyle O'Brien; and two brothers, Donovan and Albert Hiser.
A member of the Lutheran faith, he retired as a traffic manager from Glidden Paint in Cleveland. He also was a retired music teacher.
Mr. Hiser, a musician in the Big Band era, formed his own group in the Fostoria area called "The 4 Sharps."
The Rev. Karl Kessler will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Thursday service in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Betty Kelbley

Betty Kelbley, 66, of 1709 Forest Park, Findlay, died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
She was born Feb. 28, 1934, in Tiffin, to the late Clarence and Caroline (Stevenson) Kuebler. On July 16, 1955, she married
Ralph J. "Jack" Kelbley, who survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Mark Kelbley of Findlay; four daughters, Mrs. Troy (Jackie) Althaus, Mrs. Janet Bower and Mrs. Steve (Jane) Schroeder, all of Findlay and Mrs. Bill (Anne) Daum of Beavercreek; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Jerry (Carol Sue) Piatt, also of Findlay.
Mrs. Kelbley, a homemaker and registered nurse, was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Findlay.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with Msgr. Edward Dunn officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery, Tiffin.
Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.

Rosetta M. Carolus
Mother of New Riegel resident
Rosetta M. Carolus, 60, of Port Clinton, died Saturday morning, Sept. 2, 2000, from injuries sustained in an accident on Oak Harbor S.E. Road in Ottawa County.
She was born Jan. 3, 1940, in Berlin, Pa., to the late Merle and Bertha (Sweitzer) Vought. Her husband, Roger W. Carolus, whom she married
Sept. 29, 1958, in Frostburg, Md., died Feb. 12.
Survivors include: five children, Roger W. Carolus Jr. of Oak Harbor, Mrs. Cameron (Peggy Sue) Druyor of St.Juliet, Tenn., Bradley S. Carolus of Sandusky, Mrs. Joey (Beth Ann) Arbogast of New Riegel and Lee H. Carolus of Port Clinton; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. John (Shirley) Tateleba and Mrs. Dick (Joyce) Hay, both of Berlin, Pa.; and two brothers, Glenn and Barry Vought, also both of Berlin.
Mrs. Carolus operated her own cleaning business, working in private residents, mostly in the Lakeside area.
She was a member of the Alliance Chapel, Oak Harbor and its Alliance Women Alive group. She also served as a former Sunday School teacher.
When her children were young she served as a den mother and Scout leader for the Boy Scouts.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, all types of racing and antique farm equipment.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Alliance Chapel, 11805 W. SR 105, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Roose cemetery, Oak Harbor.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of the service Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Francisca Rios Salazar
Retired nurses's aide
Francisca Rios Salazar, 84, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at her residence at 2451 CR 181, Clyde.
She was born Dec. 29, 1915, in Cotulla, Texas, to Ancellmo and Georga (Flores) Rios. On Sept. 23, 1934, in Cotulla, she married
Ramon G. Salazar, who survives.
Survivors also include: seven sons, Joe Salazar of Laredo, Texas, Ramon Salazar Jr. of Green Springs, Reynaldo Salazar of Clyde, Ruben Salazar of Fremont, Rick Salazar of London, Ohio, Rogello "Roy" Salazar, also of Clyde and Frank Martinez-Salazar of Green Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Denny (Mary Lou) Wotring of Toledo and Mrs. Tom (Theresa) Farster of Clyde; 27 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Guadalupe Martinez; a brother, Senon Rios; and two sisters, Manuela Cruz and Minnie Rangel.
Mrs. Salazar, who had lived in Clyde since 1946, retired as a nurses' aide in 1974, from St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde and its Altar Rosary Society, the Guadalupe Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont; the Guadalupanas and Madres Society of Sacred Heart Church, Cotulla.
The Rev. Jeffrey J. Nordhaus and Deacon Tito Ollervides will be the co-officiants at the 10 a.m. Wednesday service in St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde. Burial will be in Clyde St. Mary cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Engle-Young Funeral Home, Green Springs, where a Christian wake service will be at 8 p.m. and the rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.

Robert L. McDaniel
General Electric retiree
Robert L. McDaniel, 73, 74 Westwood Drive, died at 1 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, in the Ruffing Family Care Center, where he had been a patient for a day.
He was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Kenneth Leland and Nondes (Miller) McDaniel. His wife, Marilyn J. (Harvey) McDaniel, whom he married
Aug. 20, 1949, in Memorial Baptist Church, Fort Wayne, survives.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Mark (Martha) Weidinger of Bellevue; Mrs. Bryan (Janice) Schatzinger of Chino, Calif. and Mrs. Kenneth (Michelle) Bondurant of Belmont, Mass.; and six grandchildren.
Mr. McDaniel, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, retired in 1983 as a foreman, from the General Electric.
A Tiffin resident since 1954, he was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he taught the adult Sunday School class for many years.
He also wrote "Tiffin Topics" for the Tiffin edition of the General Electric newsletter.
A 1947 graduate of Northside High School, Fort Wayne, he attended Indiana University Extension in Fort Wayne.
The Rev. Al Wilkes will be the officiant at the 10 a.m. Wednesday service in the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Raymond L. 'Red' Clark
Union Carbide Corp. retiree
Raymond L. "Red" Clark, 73, of Sycamore Street, Fostoria, was found dead at his residence at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000.
He was born June 16, 1927, in Walbridge, to Foster A. and Edna E. (Powell) Clark. His wife, Rosemary (Ellis) Clark, whom he married
Nov. 28, 1953, in Tiffin, preceded him in death July 10, 1995.
Surviving are: two sons, Scott W. Clark of Killeen, Texas and David L. Clark of Fostoria; a daughter, Rebecca Clark of Toledo; a brother, Timothy R. Clark of Maumee; two sisters, Constance S. Rombach of Jupiter, Fla. and Ruth Watson-Clark of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Clark, a 1945 graduate of Fostoria High School, retired in 1984 from the Union Carbide Corp. in Fostoria, after 37 years of employment. He then worked at Roppe Rubber Corp., also of Fostoria, for five years.
A life member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion, both of Fostoria, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Edmond Zickefoos officiating. Burial will be in Dayton National cemetery.
There will be no visitation.

Emma Elizabeth 'Betty' Zbinden
Former college music director
Emma Elizabeth "Betty" Zbinden, 85, 63 Warren St., died at 9:26 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo, following a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 30, 1914, in Shelbyville, Ind., to L. Richard and Frances (Morris) Bryant. On Sept. 7, 1941, in Shelbyville, she married
Albert T. Zbinden, who died Feb. 16, 1980.
Survivors include: a son, Terry Bryant Zbinden of Maple Grove, Minn.; a daughter, Elizabeth "Libby" Zbinden of Tiffin; a daughter-in-law; and a grandson, John Terrence Zbinden.
Mrs. Zbinden, a resident of Tiffin since 1951, was a former music teacher in the St. Clair Shores, Michigan School system. She also worked as former director of music and as a French instructor at Defiance College.
A Summa cum laude 1937 graduate of Western College for Women, Oxford, Ohio with an A.B. degree, she earned her master of music degree from the University of Michigan in 1938.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a former elder, Sunday School teacher, member of the church choir since 1951 and past member and president of the Presbyterian Women's Association.
She also served as past president of the former Tiffin Civic Music Association and was a past member of the American Association of University Women.
Graveside services will take place Saturday in Forest Hill cemetery, Shelbyville, with the Rev. Richard E. Mahlman of Tiffin Presbyterian, officiating.
There will be no visitation. The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the church.
Janet E. Young
Dental nurse
Janet E. Young, 51, 211 Clinton Ave., died suddenly at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, in the Emergency Room of Otsego Memorial Hospital, Gaylord, Mich., while vacationing in Michigan.
She was born June 23, 1949, in Tiffin, to Robert and Helen (Koehl) Weller, who survive in Tiffin. On July 21, 1988, in Trinity United Church of Christ, she married
David A. Young, who also survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Nathan Nitecki of Tiffin; two step-sons, Jesse K. Young of Findlay and Zachary D. Young, also of Tiffin; two sisters, Mrs. Jeff (Jayne) Loudenslager of Hillliard and Mrs. Sid (Julie) Sink of Bowling Green; several nieces and nephews; and a step-grandchild.
Mrs. Young, a 1967 graduate of Calvert High School, graduated in 1968 as a dental nurse from Elkhart Dental Institute, Elkhart, Ind.
She was employed as a dental nurse by Dr. Norman Krieger until his retirement and continued with the practice under Dr. Carl Schafer.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Eagles Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary and vice-president/secretary of the DeMolay Knights-Templar Ladies Club.
She was a past member of the Optimist Club.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank A. Murd as celebrant. The rosary will be recited at the church at 9:45 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.
