Brother of Tiffin resident
Robert E. Strausbaugh, 77, died Friday, July 28, 2000, in Sylvia's Hospice House, Ocala, Fla.
He was born in Tiffin, and moved to Marion County, Fla. from New Washington in 1975.
Survivors include: his wife, Pauline LaRoss of Belleview, Fla.; nine daughters, Patricia Aten of Columbus, Kathleen Harris of Clovis, Ohio, Barbara Batdore of Marion, Regina Whitaker of Greenwich, Joan Lourenco and Alice Ghigliotty, both of Belleview, Fla.; Sharon Walker of Tampa, Fla., Nancy Bacchus of Orlando, Fla. and Brenda Mason of Memphis, Tenn.; four sons, Kenneth Strausbaugh of London, Ohio, Joseph Strausbaugh of Summerfield, Fla., Donald and James Strausbaugh, both of New Washington; a sister, Marie Zoeller of Tiffin; 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His wife of 52 years, Esther Clouse Strausbaugh; a son, Robert; and two brothers, Richard and James, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Strausbaugh, a World War II U.S. Army Veteran, was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Belleview and the Knights of Columbus.
The Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 S. Pine Ave., Ocala, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.

Jeff Ramsey, 58, of Attica, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, in St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Arrangements are pending at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, Attica.
Margaret Kosher
Sandusky Philco retiree
Margaret Kosher, 83, formerly of Rotary Commons, Bellevue, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, in the Bellevue Care Center, following a long illness.
She was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Reed Township, to Alois and Elizabeth (Raufeisen) Stockmaster.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mary Hummel-Kubat of Sandusky; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, Andrew Stockmaster of Mayfield Heights; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Limber and Helen Gfell.
Mrs. Kosher retired many years ago from Philco in Sandusky. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue and a former member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Marywood.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Prayers will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Monday in the Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St .Michael's Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Bellevue Catholic cemetery.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Raymond C. Aldrich
Lifetime farmer
Raymond C. Aldrich, 84, of CR 21, Risingsun, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, in Memorial Hospital, Fremont.
He was born Nov. 9, 1915, in Rollersville, to Arla and Anna (Schoendorff) Aldrich. His first wife, Fern (Limke) Aldrich, whom he married
Oct. 10, 1936, died Jan. 21, 1968. He later married
Wilda Jeane Myers on July 28, 1977, in McComb. She survives.
Survivors also include: two sons, Thomas Aldrich of Byron, Ga. and Gerald Aldrich of Risingsun; two daughters, Mrs. Paul R. (Mary Ann) Evans and Mrs. Douglas L.(Jane) Smith, both of Fostoria; a step-daughter, Bonnie Zimmermen of Virginia; two step-sons, Richard Myers of Rockville, Md. and Daniel Myers of Cheney, Wash.; a sister, Annabelle O'Neill of Phoenix, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were a son, Richard; a step-son, James Myers; a step-daughter, Donna Jean Myers; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Aldrich, a lifetime farmer, also worked as a welder for the J.E. Baker Lime Plant in Millersville for 20 years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Millersville.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Millersville. B urial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Nopper-Veh Funeral Home, Gibsonburg, where a wake service will take place Tuesday evening.
Memorials may be made to the Rising Sun Park.
Nicholas W. Watson
Columbian High School student
Nicholas W. Watson, 17, 1370 E. TR 201, died at 1:19 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2000, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, where he had been a patient for two hours..
He was born Dec. 5, 1982, in Tiffin, to Dave L. and Mary K. (Breidenbach) Watson, who survive at 1370 E. TR 201.
Other survivors include: a brother, Jared M. Watson, at home and his fiance; a sister, Jennifer A. Watson, at home; grandparents, Leonard R. and Dorothy Watson of Bascom and Francis M. and Bea Breidenbach of Tiffin; and his great-grandmother, Oleta C. Watson, formerly of rural Kansas, Ohio.
Nicholas, a member of Bascom United Methodist Church, was a student at Columbian High School.
The Rev. James Lambert will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday service in the Bascom United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Sand Ridge cemetery, Bascom.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Nicholas W. Watson Memorial Fund.
Naomi E. Swartzmiller
First Bettsville Postmistress
Naomi E. Swartzmiller, 99, of 5833 32nd Ave. North, St. Petersburg, Fla., was dead on arrival at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2000, in Firelands Community Hospital, Erie County, Sandusky.
She was born Sept. 5, 1900, in Prairie Depot, Ohio, to John and Hulda (Schultz) Hinkley. On Aug. 21, 1921, in Bettsville, she married
Olen G. Swartzmiller, who preceded her in death in 1973.
Surviving are two sons, Burniel O. Swartzmiller of Burlington, N.C. and Dale L. Swartzmiller of St. Petersburg; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Doran E. Swartzmiller; and a sister, Hazel Hinkley.
Mrs. Swartzmiller, who is retired, was the first postmistress of Bettsville, 1919-21.
A 1917 graduate of Bettsville High School, she was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church, St. Petersburg and active in the Rebekah Lodge, where she had served as past state president.
Formerly of Sandusky, she had resided in Erie County for a few days.
The Rev. Gary Halstead will be the officiant at the 3 p.m. graveside service today in Pleasant Union cemetery.
There will be no visitation. The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the church or the Gideons.
Jeffrey C. Ramsey
Ramsey Trucking retiree
Jeffrey C. Ramsey, 58, of 6766 S. Venice TR 191, Attica, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, in St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born Sept. 29, 1941, in Findlay, to the late Myron J. and Edna R. (Ziesloft) Ramsey. His wife, Wanda (Gangluff) Ramsey, whom he married
Feb. 24, 1962, survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Mike (Tracey E.) Lampshire of Columbus and Mrs. Mark (Stephnie M.) Darby of Warren; a son, Keith Ramsey of Attica and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Ramsey, a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, retired in 1999 from Ramsey Trucking.
He also was a member of Attica Eagles, Attica Lodge 367 Free and Accepted Masons and the Golden Rule Council 132 RSM. He formerly was a member of the Golden Rule Chapter 167 RAM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo, De Molay 009 KT and Order Eastern Star 299, Tiffin.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 1295 W. Tiffin St., Attica, with the Rev. James L. Barkenquast officiating.
Visitation will be 4-6:45 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home where a Masonic Service will be at 6:45 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Attica Lions Hall after the memorial service.

Anna Louise Hamlin Lawson
Cousin of Tiffin resident
Word has been received of the death of Anna Louise Hamlin Lawson of Howell, Mich.
Surviving are three daughters, a son and a first cousin, living in Tiffin.
Mrs. Lawson resided in Tiffin for a year, living with her late aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Patterson. She attended Miami School at that time.
Norma Jean Smith
Lifetime Tiffin resident
Norma Jean Smith, 65, 28 Quay St., died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2000, in St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Tiffin, to the late Urban and Helen (Walters) Smith.
Survivors include: three sisters, Mrs. Lewis (Pauline) Kohlenberg, Mrs. Philip (Helen) Miller and Ruth Ann Ludwig, all of Tiffin; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A brother, James Smith, also is deceased.
Miss Smith, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was employed at the Roppe Rubber Co. in Fostoria, through the Seneca Re-Ads Workshop.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. James K. Say as celebrant. The rosary will be recited at the church at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 8:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the School of Opportunity or St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center ICU.
Herman J. Wise
Nickel Plate Railroad retiree
Herman J. Wise, 91, formerly of 149 McKin, Bellevue, recently of the Ohio Veteran's Home, Sandusky, died Monday, July 31, 2000, in Providence Hospital, Sandusky.
He was born Oct. 30, 1908, in Peru Township, to Louis and Clara (Philipps) Wise. On Oct. 7, 1944, in Reed Assumption Catholic Church, he married
Cordula Bertsch, who is deceased.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Albin and Vincent; and a sister, Leona Wise, are deceased.
Mr. Wise, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Norwalk VFW, retired as a car inspector from the Nickel Plate Railroad.
He was a former member of the Bellevue Eagles.
The Rev. Robert Tuccheri will be the celebrant at the 11 a.m. Wednesday service in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Bellevue cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today in the Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception School.
Edward M. Mossbrugger Sr.
Roofing/sheet metal owner/operator
Edward M. Mossbrugger Sr., 79, died at 7:15 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2000, at his residence at 213 N. 7th St., Upper Sandusky, where he had resided for the past 51 years.
He was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Upper Sandusky, to Frank Edward and Ruth Margaret (McNally) Mossbrugger. On Jan. 10, 1945, in Upper Sandusky, he married
M. Jean Bogard, who survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Edward M. Mossbrugger Jr. of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Mrs. Norris (Barbara Ann) Stinehelfer of rural Upper Sandusky; and a granddaughter.
A 1939 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, Mr. Mossbrugger retired in 1977 as owner/operator of the former Mossbrugger Roofing and Sheet Metal, where he had worked for many years.
He was a member of American Legion Post 225, VFW Post 2842, and a life-long member of St. Peter Catholic Church, all of Upper Sandusky and the AARP.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he enjoyed boating, fishing and summers at his cottage at Shrock's Hidden Beach Marina, Marblehead.
He was a former member of Knights of Columbus 2050 and Elks Lodge 83, both of Upper Sandusky and also enjoyed bowling, watching Cleveland Browns football and attending super modified car races.
Sister Barbara Jean Miller will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Thursday service in the Bringman Clark and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky. Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic cemetery, Upper Sandusky, where military graveside services will be conducted by local veterans organizations.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic cemetery Fund, Hospice of Wyandot County or a charity of the donor's choice.
Laura Miller
Former food service worker/cashier
Laura Miller, 81, of North Seneca CR 27, Bellevue, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, in the Bellevue Hospital.
She was born Oct. 16, 1918, in Port Washington, Ohio, to James Franklin and Hazel (Jacobs) Roades. Her husband, Torrence E. Miller, whom she married
Jan. 8, 1951, preceded her in death Dec. 31, 1982.
Survivors include: four sons, James Burrus Jr. of Sandusky, Thomas, Bruce and Gary Miller, all of Castalia; two stepsons, Dale and Robert Miller, both of Anderson, Ind.; five daughters, Mrs. Karl (Suann) Kollat of Green Springs, Mrs. William (Pamela) Smith of Crestwood, Ky., Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Widman of Republic, Mrs. John (Shirley) Gregg of Clyde and Mrs. Scott (Paula) Malernee of Elbridge; three step-daughters, Portia Smith and Betty Kelly, both of Anderson, Ind. and Mary Burr of Clyde; 15 grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Florence Parks and Dorothy Hayes, both of Newcomerstown and Betty Rhoades of Cambridge; and a brother, Franklin Rhoades of Bettsville.
Also preceding her in death were a sister and brother, Lethel Cunningham and Ralph Rhoades.
Mrs. Miller, a 1936 graduate of Port Washington High School, had been employed in food service and as a cashier at the Commodore Perry Plaza on the Ohio Turnpike for 15 years.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
