Anna C. Stacklin
Former Attica resident
Anna C. Stacklin, 88, formerly of 7 Beechwood Drive, died at 5:25 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2000, in St. Francis Home, 182 St. Francis Ave.
She was born June 22, 1912, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Charles and Laura (Adams) Arend. On May 28, 1936, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue, she married
Frank J. Stacklin. He died March 11, 1988.
Survivors include: two sons, Joseph Stacklin of Tiffin and Michael Stacklin of Portage; a daughter, Mrs. Mary S. Mahley of Mansfield; a brother, James A. Scard of Attica; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Ralph and Jack Arend; and a sister, Mrs. Stanley (Mary E.) Ryman.
A homemaker, Mrs. Stacklin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Rosary-Altar Society.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Attica, with the Rev. Joseph P. Szybka as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 4 p.m.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Anna R. Bailey
Former nursing home cook
Anna R. Bailey, 76, of SR 101, Clyde, died Monday, June 26, 2000, in the Arbors of Clyde.
She was born March 20, 1924, in Tiffin, to Courtney and Inez (Sours) Egbert. Her husband, William H. Bailey Sr., whom she married
in 1946, died in 1952. Shemarried
Neal Fowler in 1956. He died in 1994.
Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Jean Davenport of Clyde; two sons, William H. Bailey Jr. of Bloomville and Thomas Bailey of Clyde; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters, Alvin Egbert of Clyde, Pauline Schultz of Republic, Mardell Woolston of New Jersey, Edith Rhoads of Bloomville, Dale Egbert of Fostoria and Lois Jean Egbert of Tiffin.
Two sons, Don and Ted Egbert, also are deceased.
Mrs. Bailey, a 1942 graduate of Republic High School, had been employed as a cook for 18 years at St. Francis Home, Green Springs, and then as a cook for the Green Springs Methodist Green Thumb Program.
She was a member of Green Springs United Methodist Church, Green Springs VFW Auxiliary, of which she was a life member; Bellevue Ladies of the Moose, Rebecca Lodge Order of Eastern Star, Republic; and a former member of Clyde Eagles Auxiliary.
She also volunteered at St. Francis for many years.
The Rev. James Scott will be the officiant at the 2 p.m. Thursday service in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Interment will be in Egbert cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wesley W. Weatherholtz
Nursing home owner/operator
Wesley W. Weatherholtz, 71, of 710 Chestnut Drive, Upper Sandusky, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2000, in the Wyandot Manor Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky.
He was born March 9, 1929, in McCutchenville, Wyandot County, to Harry "Bud" Thomas and Evelyn (Bennett) Weatherholtz. His wife, Doris (Baldwin) Weatherholtz, died Aug. 12, 1994.
Survivors include: two daughters, Celia Stansbery and Alda Brown, both of Upper Sandusky; four sons, Wesley Jr., James Allen, Charles Thomas and Jonathan Scott Weatherholtz, all of Upper Sandusky; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harry Weatherholtz, also of Upper Sandusky.
Three brothers and a sister also preceded him in death.
Mr. Weatherholtz was the owner-operator of several former nursing homes: Indian Trail Nursing Home, Carey; Carey Nursing Home, Cozy Rest Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky and the Dunkirk Nursing Home in Dunkirk.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and vacationing in Virginia.
A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was affiliated with the Apostolic Gospel Church, Upper Sandusky.
Graveside services are at 10 a.m. today in Old Mission cemetery, Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Greg Hord officiating.
The Bringman-Clark and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, is in charge of arrangements.

Robert C. Zimmerman
Retired postal employee
Robert C. Zimmerman, 89, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in Fort Myers, Fla., where he resided.
He was born May 17, 1911, in Green Springs. His wife of 50 years, Pauline Zimmerman, died in 1984.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (B. Ann) Newton of Fort Myers and Mrs. Art (Joan C.) Richmond of Cape Coral, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Zimmerman, who had lived in Florida since 1976, coming there from New Castle, Ind., retired as a postal employee.
He was a member of Pilgrims Church, Fort Myers, and a 50-year member of the Knights of Pythias, New Castle.
The Rev. Helen DuBell will conduct the 2 p.m. Friday service in the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before the service Friday at the funeral home.

Carole D. Bailey
Former Stalsworth Hotel waitress
Carole D. Bailey, 60, of 506 Kilbourne St., Republic, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
She was born Dec. 21, 1939, in Toledo, to the late Hobart and Georgie Bailey Sr.
Survivors include: a son, William Vance Jr. of Republic; six grandchildren; five sisters, Marcia Cline, Clara Smarriage, Lu Olmsted, Dottie Codner and Marcy Myers, all of Toledo; and two brothers, Hobart Jr. and James Bailey, both of Toledo.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George Bailey Sr. and a sister, Betty LaRue.
Mrs. Bailey lived in the Toledo and Republic area most of her life, having moved to Republic seven months ago. She had been employed as a waitress at Nick and Jimmie's in Toledo and at the Stalsworth Hotel in Tiffin.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Farewell Retreat cemetery, Republic, with the Rev. David Spradlin officiating.
Visitation will be 10-10:45 a.m. Friday in the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville.
Memorials may be made to the family.
JoAnn Browning
Fostoria homemaker
JoAnn Browning, 66, of 568 Lynn St., Fostoria, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born Oct. 30, 1933, in Fostoria, to the late Pink and Jessie Mae (Parkman) Evers. Her husband, James C. Browning, whom she married
Oct. 21, 1955, in Fostoria, survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: a son, Tracey C. Browning of Fostoria; a daughter, Roxanne S. Browning, also of Fostoria; a stepdaugher, Brenda G. Tucker of Fostoria; three sisters, Nannie M. Adams of Columbus, Fern Martin and Addie L. North, both of Fostoria; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Watson J. Browning; two brothers, Robert and Paul Evers; and a stepsister, Rosalie Woodley.
Mrs. Browning, a homemaker, had worked at Fostoria Community Hospital in the 1950s.
A 1953 graduate of Fostoria High School, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fostoria.
A Friday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be private. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Marjorie Grombka
Former Tiffin resident
Marjorie L. Grombka, 79, of 4601 Peachton Drive, Port Clinton, formerly of Tiffin, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in Mercy Hospital, Fairfield.
She was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Dougherty, Iowa, to James and Agnes (Kelley) Rooney. She married
Walter Grombka Feb. 28, 1946, at St. Patrick's Church in Doughterty. He survives.
Also surviving are: four daughters, Pat Lux and Deborah Grombka, both of Cincinnati, Kathy Fox of Dumfries, Va., and Mary Jo Paris of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Ambrose Rooney and Joe Rooney of Dougherty, Iowa, and John Rooney of Algona, Iowa; and a sister, Ann Rooney of Rockwell, Iowa.
A sister, Mary Bottolfson, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Grombka graduated from Dougherty High School and nursing school in Iowa; served in the U.S. Army in Denver Colorado Fitzsimmons Hospital, 1945-46; was a nurse at Mason City, Iowa; worked in various Cleveland hospitals for private duty; a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, and St. Andrews Catholic Church in Cape Coral, Fla.
The rosary will be recited at 10:45 a.m. Saturday with the funeral Mass following at 11 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. James K. Say officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
Visitation is 9-10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
