Deb Smith
Area teacher
Deb Smith, 42, of 1004 N. Union St., Fostoria, died at 6:05 a.m., Thursday, May 11, 2000 in her home. She was born Oct. 22, 1957 to John A. and Elaine (Arheit) Ziegler, both deceased. On Nov. 1, 1980 she married
Greg G. Smith in the 1st United Church of Christ, Sandusky, he survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: two sons, Tyler and Hudson Smith ;and a daughter, Mattie Smith of Fostoria; a sister, Jody Eschenauer of Sandusky; four nieces; three nephews; and many friends.
Mrs. Smith was a kindergarten teacher for 20 years in the Fostoria Community Schools, teaching at Lowell, Longfellow, and most recently at Riley Elementary. She is a 1976 graduate of Perkins High School, Sandusky and a June 1980 graduate of The Ohio State University. She was the 1996-1997 School Certified Employee of the Year in Fostoria Community Schools, she served on the Strategic Planning Committee for St. Wendelin Schools and member of the following: St. Wendelin Catholic Church; Ohio Education Association; OSU Alumni Association; and Disney Magic Kingdom Club.
The Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 16 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Mann-Hare Funeral Home of Fostoria.
The family requests that in lieu of cut flowers, perennials be planted in her honor.

Manuel "Manny" Amezquita
Whirlpool Corporation retiree
Manuel "Manny" Amezquita, 70, of 632 S. Sandusky Co. Rd. 232, Fremont formerly of Bellevue, died Wednesday evening, May 10, 2000 at Firelands Community Hospital, Sandusky. He was born June 5, 1929 to Jose and Refugia (Del La Rosa) Amezquita. On May 10, 1949 he married
Carmen M. Comacho in Austin, Tx., and she survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Manuel Rafael Amezquita of Clyde, and Mario Albert Amezquita of Monroeville; a brother, Albert Amezquita of Austin, Tx.; two sisters, Alvina Degollado and Lydia Arroyo, both of Austin, Tx.; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Mary Ruth Amezquita; four brothers, Louis Amezquita, Jose Del La Rosa, Anastacia and Martin Castillo; and four sisters, Helen Salas, Linda Davis, Sara Garcia and Josie Ann.
Mr. Amezquita was employed at Whirlpool Corporation, Clyde Division for 44 years retiring in 1995 and also was a self employed insurance agent for the Reserve Life Insurance Company for many years. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He participated in the barbershop quartet in Clyde for many years and was the "unofficial" "Happy Birthday" singer to thousands of Whirlpool employees for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and he enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing and traveling.
Friends will be received at Foos & Son Funeral Home, Bellevue from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., tonight, where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Prayers will be recited on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue, Fr. David Ross and Fr. Jeff Nordhaus, officiating. Burial will be at Bellevue Catholic cemetery.
Memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association and/or The Sorrowful Mother Shrine, Bellevue.
Betty Louise Stuckey
Bucyrus area homemaker
Betty Louise Stuckey, 80, 945 S. East St., Bucyrus, died at 8:27 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2000, in the Bucyrus Community Hospital.
She was born on Jan. 27, 1920, in Greenwich to Lon and Dorothy Louise (Poole) Cohen. On Oct. 7, 1939, she married
Myrl W. Stuckey who died April 18, 1978. A sister, Gertrude Irene Brown, also is deceased.
Survivors include: a niece and several nephews, including Lucas C. Stuckey of Tiffin; and a half-sister, Mary Eleanor Boley of Bucyrus.
She graduated from Norwalk High School, was a homemaker who had lived in the Nevada and Bucyrus areas most of her life and enjoyed playing the piano and reading.
Funeral services will be at 11 a..m Monday in the Wise Funeral Home, Bucyrus, with the Rev. Robert Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. prior to the service on Monday.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
Earl A. Bronson
Tiffin GE retiree
Earl A. "Jake" Bronson, 68, of SR 587, Fostoria, died at 6:29 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Fostoria Community Hospital.
Mr. Bronson was born May 20, 1931, in Fostoria to Arthur and Hazel (Myers) Bronson. He married
Jean Bowerman on Oct. 2, 1953, in Fostoria, and she survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are: a son, Jeffrey A. of Fenton, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Jill) Brose of Fostoria; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Myers of Fostoria and Helen Gasakalla of New Riegel.
His parents are deceased.
A U.S. Army veteran, who served during the Korean Conflict, he retired in 1985 as a press operator for General Electric in Tiffin with 22 years of service. He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Fostoria and past president of the Church Consistory.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria with the Rev. Lucinda Hunter officiating.
Interment will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Grace United Church of Christ or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Florence M. Wright

Florence M.Wright, 84, of 175 St. Francis Ave., died at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2000, in Hertland of Browning Nursing Home, Waterville.
She was born in Jackson, Mich., to Frederick and Ivoleta (Phillips) Salisbury on Oct. 29, 1915. She married
Robert G. Wright Nov. 6, 1938, in Jackson, Mich., and he died July 7, 1983.
Survivors include: a son, Richard Wright of Tiffin; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wright was co-owner and vice president of WTTF Inc. of Tiffin and a member of First Christian Church.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the First Christian Church with the Rev. David Mills officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
Winford Riddle
Carey resident
Winford Riddle, 79, of 811 E. Findlay St., Carey, died at 2:35 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2000, in Marion General Hospital.
He was born April 17, 1921, in Gilley, Ky. on Lineford Creek to L.C. and Martha Jane (Pratt) Riddle.
Survivors include Gladys "Patsy" Click, his companion of 24 years; two sons, Maurice (George) Riddle of Allen Park, Mich., and Robert (Bobby) Riddle of Taylor, Mich.; five daughters, Louise Moore of Taylor, Mich., Patsy Jent of South Gate, Mich., Linda Jent of Livonia, Mich., Rita Neblett of Dearborn Heights, Mich., and Sharon Smith of Linden, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Subrina Caudill of Premium, Ky., and Mrs. Ola Corder of Coeburn, Va.
A daughter, Janice Faye Riddle, is deceased along with four brothers and two sisters.
During World War II, he served in the South Pacific Theater with the U.S. Army's 533rd Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment and was discharged Dec. 5, 1945, at Camp Atterburty, Ind. He retired from Ford Motor Co. in Livonia, Mich. in April 1979 after working 27 years. He was a member of Local 182 U.A.W. in Livonia, a retired Baptist minister and an avid fisherman.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. Brent Layne officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by local veterans' organizations at the Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.
Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Leukemia Foundation in memory of his daughter, Janice, or Carey V.F.W., both c/o funeral home.
Frances L. Shaffer
Former Bloomville resident
Frances L. Shaffer, 79, of 60 N. SR 101 and a former Bloomville resident, died Friday morning, May 12, 2000, at the Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard.
She was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Sycamore to Paul R. and Mary (Brown) Walton. On March 21, 1941, in Sycamore, she married
Foster G. Shaffer and he survives in Tiffin.
Also surviving are: four sons, Dick Shaffer of Shelby, Dan Shaffer of Bloomville, Jim Shaffer of Tiffin, and Jeff Shaffer of Suwanee, Ga.; two daughters, Janet Aschemeler of Napoleon and Linda Fatzinger of Tiffin; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Walton Jr. of Texas; and four sisters, Dorothy Courtad of Sulfur Springs, Pauline Powell of Fairfield, Ill., Margaret Hanover of St. Mary, and Betty Stanley of Tiffin.
A daughter, Nancy Shaffer, and two brothers, Rev. Stanley Walton and Wayne Walton, are deceased.
Mrs. Shaffer served as a nurse's aid at the Tiffin State Hospital for 15 years and was a member of the Bloomville United Methodist Church and Circle Two, the No-Name Club of Bloomville, and Bloomville Community Grange.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Bloomville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Bloomville.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville.

Joan R. (Froning) Brown

Joan R. (Froning) Brown, 59, East SR 18, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born July 30, 1940, in St. Sebastian, Ohio, to Clem and Marie (Sutter) Froning. Her mother survives in Chickasaw, Ohio. On May 9, 1998, in Tiffin, she married
James R. Brown, who survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Mike Idle of Sheppardsville, Ky., Max Brown of Newburg, Ind., and Aaron Brown of Gibsonburg; six sisters, Sister Patricia Froning, OSF, of Owensboro, Ky., Virginia Stephenson of Wooster, Marjorie Goecke of Versailles, Judith Mescher of Maria Stein, Kathleen Scholes of Fremont, N.H., and Cynthia Rammel of Burkettsville, Ohio; a brother, John Froning of Lake City, Tenn; and seven grandchildren.
Her father is deceased.
Mrs. Brown, a 1958 graduate of St. Francis High School, Tiffin, received her nursing degree from Mary Manse College in Toledo in 1966. She received her master's degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and master's in pastoral studies from Loyola University, Chicago, Ill.
A memer of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, she was employed as a mental health therapist with Firelands Hospital, Sandusky, working in Fostoria and Tiffin.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in West Union cemetery, Gibsonburg at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Nopper-Veh Funeral Home, Gibsonburg, where a wake service will be at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the church.

Florence M. "Pat" Wright, 84, 175 St. Francis Ave., died at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2000, in the Heartland of Browning Nursing Home, Waterville.
She was born in Jackson, Mich., Oct. 29, 1915, to Frederick and Ivoleta (Phillips) Salisbury. Her husband, Robert G. Wright, whom she married
Nov. 6, 1938, in Jackson, Mich., preceded her in death July 7, 1983.

Mrs. Wright, a member of First Christian Church, was the co-owner and vice president of WTTF Inc. of Tiffin.
The Rev. David Mills will be the officiant at the 10 a.m. Tuesday service in the First Christian Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Isidro C. Gonzales

Isidro C. Gonzales, 69, died at 9:46 a.m. Sunday, May 14, 2000, at his home at 725 Sandusky St., Fostoria.
He was born March 12, 1931, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Ysidro and Soledad (Coronado) Gonzales. In 1952, he married
Irene Ramiez. They were divorced. In 1975, he married
Delores Lopez, who survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son, Nick Ledesma of Marion; 10 daughters, Mrs. Felix (Christina) Lerma of Alvada, Mrs. Soledad Adams of Tiffin, Rita Ledesma of Marion, Mrs. Charles (Carmen) Walter, Hope Hunt, Mrs. Kenneth (Peggy) Cousin and Mrs. Mike (Rachel) Gieser, all of Fostoria, Mrs. Jim (Linda) Kenny of Tippecanoe, Ohio, Mrs. Greg (Eloisa) Kisaberth of Lebanon and Sonja Ledesma of Findlay; six brothers, Joe and Ramulo Gonzales of Houston, Texas, Tony, Cipirano and Mauro Gonzales, all of San Antonio, and Mike Gonzales of Spring Beach, Texas; two sisters, Frances Sierra and Janie Venazula, both of San Antonio; and 60 grand- and great-grandchildren.
A brother, Crispin Gonzales, also is deceased.
Mr. Gonzales, a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, retired from the Fostoria Foundry (Chrysler), after 30 years.
He also was a member of The Guadalupe Society, Fostoria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited at 1 p.m.. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Seneca County Community Hospice Care.
Donna Jean Loudenslager
Former Tiffin area resident
Donna Jean Loudenslager, 73, of Columbus, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in Mt. Carmel West Medical Center, Columbus.
Her parents, Carl and Gladys Fruth, preceded her in death. Her husband of 55 years, Ralph Loudenslager, survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Gary of North Carolina, Michael of Cincinnati, Jeffrey of Hilliard and Terry of Columbus; eight grandchildren; her stepmother, Chloe Fruth; two sisters, Evelyn Thompson of Illinois and Carol Gainsley of Findlay; and a brother, Carlton Fruth, also of Findlay.
Mrs. Loudenslager was a former Tiffin area resident.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Cypress Wesleyan Church, with Pastor David Holdren officiating. Interment will be in Alton cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard.
