Doris I. Ringle
Retired teacher
Doris I. Ringle, 83, formerly of Walker St., Tiffin, died on Wednesday, April 26, 2000 at The Forum at Knightsbridge Health Care Facility, Columbus.
She was born on Jan. 15, 1917 to George and Bessie Ryerson.
On Dec. 15, 1945 she married
Myron L. Ringle, he died Aug. 17, 1982.
Survivors include: a son, John Ringle of Columbus; a daughter, Mary Lou Ringle of Strongsville; a daughter-in-law, Linda L. Jacobs; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruby Ryerson of Huron County; three sisters, Eleanor Lewis of Huron County, Margaret Skinn of Norwalk, and Jeannette Wilcox of Huron County; a brother-in-law, William Garrard of Tx.; a granddaughter, Julia L. Hanna of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: two premature sons; a brother, George Ryerson; a sister, Harriette Garrard; and a sister-in-law, Vera L. Ringle.
Mrs. Ringle attended Kent State University and taught elementary school for a total of 37 1/2 years, retiring in 1986.
She began her career in North Olmstead, Elyria, and Willard, then spent 31 years teaching in Tiffin Public Schools at College Hill, Noble, and Lincoln Elementaries.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tiffin and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
The Rev. William H. Smith will officiate the 2 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2000 funeral service at Trinity United Church of Christ.
Burial will be at Farewell Retreat cemetery, Republic.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., tonight, at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

The Rev. Dorothy Mae Boles
Area minsister
The Rev. Dorothy Mae Boles, 77, of 600 Fox Run Road, Findlay, died Thursday, April 27, 2000 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Care Center.
She was born June 14, 1922 to Russell L. and Emma M. (Peters) Lynch.
On Sept. 25, 1942 she married
Hubert A. Boles, he died in 1985.
Surviving include: three sons, David A. Boles of Pinetop, Az., H. Keith Boles of Findlay, and Jonathan L. Boles of Zephyrhills, Fl.; three daughters, Gwen Ladd of Bellevue, Mrs. Diantha Palm of Bloomville, and Mrs. Beckie Claypool of Helena; a sister, Mrs. Jeanne Ponton of Lutz, Fl.; 14 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was an infant sister.
Mrs. Boles was a graduate of Practical Bible Training School, N.Y., and of the Theological Seminary in Garrett, Il.
She was a United Methodist minister, retiring in 1986.
Among the churches she ministered at were: St. Mary's UM Church, St. Mary's Ohio; McCutchenville UM Church; and Oregon Bethany UM Church.
Along with her husband, she ministered at United Methodist churches in Flat Rock, Milbury, Helena, Oak Harbor, and Carey, Ohio.
She was a member of the following: St. Paul's UM Church; previously active in the UM Women's Association, past Toledo District Officer.
She also led many workshops and retreats.
As a resident of the Grand Court, Findlay, she led Bible studies and played the piano during sing-a-longs.
Officiating will be The Rev. Don Flores and The Pastor Jeff Sheldon at the 11 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2000 funeral service at St. Paul's UM Church, 218 E. Sandusky St. Findlay.
Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery, Clyde.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Routson Funeral Chapel, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay.
Memorials may be made to: Wycliffe Bible Translators; Practical Bible College, Elmyria, N.Y.; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Christina J. "Dena" Bell
Former New Riegel resident
Christina J. "Dena" Bell, 83, of Dayton, died on Wednesday, April 26, 2000.
She was born Jan. 24, 1917 in New Riegel to Anthony J. and Eva M. (Theis) Huss.
She married
Raymond E. Bell, and he survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dennis Bell, and David Bell; a daughter, Mrs. Diane Baumgartner; three brothers, Cletus, Victor and Lucian Huss; three sisters, Celestia Tiell, Esther Wilson, and Clara Burkett; and seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Bell was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Rosary Altar Society, and Secretary of Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima and had the Blue Army Center in her home for over 25 years.
She was a Rosary and Brown Scapular maker of over 30 years and enjoyed bingo, cards and grandchildren.
Prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2000 at the Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 2300 S. Smithville Rd.
The Father Florian, Christina's godchild, will officiate the Mass. Interment Calvary cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 4-8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
The Rosary will be said by the Blue Army members beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Mass Cards or contributions to Our Lady of Fatima (Blue Army) will be appreciated.
Richard L. Reed
Former Tiffin resident
Richard L. Reed, 63 of North Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Tiffin, died Sunday, April 23, 2000.
He married
Billie Reed, and she survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Richard L. Reed, Jr. of Oiai, Calf.; two daughters, Brandi McKiddie of Moorepark, Ga., and Shawn George of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two brothers, Ronald Reed of N.J., and William Reed, Jr. of Fl.
Mr. Reed attended Columbian High School and moved from the area in 1953.
He retired as Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army National Guard and retired as an analyst for the government.
He was a member of the Stroke of Luck Club.
The Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:15 p.m., today, Friday, April 28, 2000 at Southern Nevada Veterans cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Palm Mortuary, Cheyenne, Las Vegas.
Paul B. Mehling
Area resident
Paul B. Mehling, 80, of Piqua, Ohio, died at 9:50 a.m., Thursday, April 27, 2000 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Fremont.
He was born Feb. 29, 1920 in Fremont to Alban and Frances (Walters) Mehling.
On May 25, 1946 he married
Alice C. Puffenberger in Tiffin, and she survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Gretchen Roeth of Piqua, and Mrs. Theresa Feller of Florence, S.C.; two brothers, Richard Mehling of Fremont, and Cyril Mehling of Doylestown, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Bowden, and Mary Mehling both of Fremont; and four grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were: two brothers.
Mr. Mehling graduated from St. Joseph High School in Fremont in 1938, then graduated from Tiffin University with an associate in business in 1947.
A member of: St. Mary Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council and ushered at church for many years; Knights of Columbus; past president of the PTA at Piqua Catholic School; 50 year member of the Piqua American Legion Post 184, 40 & 8 Honorary Society of the American Legion; Piqua Elks; Honorary member of the Piqua Civic Band in which he wrote all the information on each honorary guest band director for each program for over 20 years.
Active in Piqua Chamber of Commerce; also served as chairman for United Way, Crop Walk and Cancer Fund for many years.
Member of Piqua Kiwanis Club, aka "Mr. Kiwanis" and "The Pancake Ticket Man" since 1975, where he was the top ticket seller for over 15 years.
President from 1995-1996, he received the Kiwanian of the Year in 1988, also the Grand Marshall of the Kiwanis Halloween Parade that year.
In 1999 he received the Kiwanis Internationals Highest award given to a member, "The Hixon Award" for all his contributions to Kiwanis and community.
He served in every capacity and beyond where he will be remembered for the efforts given to the Kiwanis and his fellow members.
The Rev. Fr. Francis Keferl will officiate the 11 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2000 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church.
Burial will be at Forest Hill cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-6 p.m., Sunday at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home.
Prayer service will be at 2 p.m., and Piqua Kiwanis service at 3 p.m., Sunday.

Marvin H. Feindel
Green Springs farmer
Marvin H. Feindel, 92, of 214 E. Adams St., Green Springs, died at 4:10 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2000, in Fremont Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Seneca County March 10, 1908, to George and Josephine (Vogelsang) Feindel.
He spent his life in the Green Springs area.
On March 11, 1933, he married
Marie Diment in Green Springs.
She survives.
Also surviving are: three daughters, Fay Miller of Ventura, Calif., Janice Hoffman of Findlay, and Joneal Goodsite of Elyria; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was a 1927 graduate of Green Springs High School; a farmer; and a member of the Green Springs United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs with the Rev. James Scott officiating.
Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Marilyn Jean Burford
Fostoria resident's mother
The Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home of Fostoria has received word of the death of Marilyn Jean Burford, 73, of Chatham, Ontario, Canada, who died Friday, April 21, 2000, at the Cooper Terrace Long Term Care Facility, Chatham.
She was born Sept. 24, 1924, to Elza and Inez (Allen) Angles.
On Jan. 23, 1960, she married
Richard Burford in Fostoria. He survives in Chatham.
Other survivors include: seven sons, Dennis Mellroy and Gary Mellroy of Toledo, Butch Mellroy and Mike Mellroy of state of Delaware, Chuck Mellroy of Port Charlotte, Fla., Gregory Angles of Fostoria, and George Burford of Toronto, Ontario; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Allen Angles of Urbana, Milton and Duane Angles, both of Fostoria, Ron Angles of Cape Coral, Fla.; and a sister, Donelda Myers of Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Burford; a grandson; and two sisters, Audrey and Constance Angles.
Mrs. Burford was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Chatham.
Services were April 24 at the church, with burial in the Maple Leaf cemetery, Chatham.

James Vaughn Swartz
Upper Sandusky resident
James Vaughn Swartz, 69, of 513 Gamber Ct., Upper Sandusky, died at 3:55 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2000, in the Wyandot Manor Nursing Home.
He was born in Upper Sandusky Aug. 23, 1930, to Samuel Vaughn and Arvilla Bernadine (Johns) Swartz.
He married
Lucinda E. Gundecker Sept. 3, 1982, in First Lutheran Church, Upper Sandusky.
His former wife, Marcella Click, survives in Upper Sandusky.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana Lynn and Debra Kay Swartz, both of Upper Sandusky; three grandchildren; five brothers, Harrison of Ashland, Ky., Clifford and Kenneth of Upper Sandusky, Boyd of Wharton, and Robert of Fairfax, Va.; six sisters, Mrs. Clara Tharp of LaRue, Mrs. Eley (Florence) Owens of Rutledge, Ala., Mrs. Mabel Grimes of Marion, Mrs. Harvey (Marilyn) Harris of Caledonia, Mrs. William (Wilda) Grimes of Galion, and Mrs. Robert (Patsy) Smith of Forest.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Cloyd.
Mr. Swartz retired in 1991 as station manager for the former Lite Star Oil in Upper Sandusky where he had worked since 1959.
He attended St. Paul Lutheran Church, Upper Sandusky; was a former softball player and manager; loved nature; and enjoyed hunting raccoon, rabbit, squirrel and deer.
The Rev. Jerry Elsholz will officiate at the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday in the Bringman-Clark & Co. Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, with burial following in the Old Mission cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Patricia L. Fausey
Rural Fremont homemaker
Patricia L. Fausey, 70, 4234 Tiffin Road, Fremont, died at 7:05 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2000, in St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs, where she had been a patient for three weeks.
She was born Dec. 19, 1929, in Bettsville, to Gerald and Louise (Mowery) Garn.
On Nov. 2, 1947, in Old Fort, she married
Franklin Fausey, who survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Charles Fausey of rural Old Fort; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Charlotte) Cole of rural Tiffin; four grandchildren; four brothers, Roger Garn of Marblehead, Paul Garn of Bettsville, Ned Garn of Chardon and J. David Garn of Benton Ridge; and two sisters, Audrey Fedeles of Waynesville, N.C. and Carol Jean Robinett of Castalia.
A sister, Nancy, died in infancy.
Mrs. Fausey, a homemaker, was a 1947 graduate of Bettsville High School.
A lifetime rural Fremont area resident, she was a member of Old Fort United Methodist Church and the New Idea Farm Women's Club.
The Rev. Jerry K. Wiles will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday service in the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs.
Burial will be in Decker cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the church or St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs.

John E. Williams, 83, died at 5:05 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2000, at his residence at 192 St. Francis Ave., Villa 22.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. until time of the service at 3 p.m. Tuesday in St. Francis Home Chapel.

Harold G. Lowery

Harold G. Lowery Jr., 44, 20 Fairview, died at 11:48 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2000, in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born In Tiffin, Aug. 24, 1955, to the late Harold G. Sr. and Phyllis (Angus) Lowery.
He had never married

Survivors include a niece, Vanessa Tyree of Dennison, Texas, two nephews, Timmy and Willie Tyree, both of San Diego, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Tim (Becky L.) Tyree of Dennison.
A U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Vietnam Era, Mr. Lowery was employed as a mixer at Consolidated Biscut Co. in McComb for 11 years.
A life-long Tiffin resident, he was a member of VFW 2858, Tiffin Eagles 402, DAV Chapter 34 and Tiffin AMVETS.
He was a 1973 Columbian High School graduate.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary A. Halstead officiating.
Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery, where the United Veterans Council will hold military graveside services at 11:45 a.m.
VFW 2858 will serve a luncheon following the graveside service at the VFW.
Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
