Eleanor G. McClintock
Former Tiffin resident
Eleanor G. McClintock, 71, of Bradenton, Fla., died Sunday, March 26, 2000, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Hazelton, Pa., Feb. 8, 1929, and went to Manatee County from Tiffin in 1979.
Survivors include: her spouse, Roger R. McClintock; a daughter, Lori Sorg of Palmetto, Fla.; two sons, Scott and Patrick McClintock, both of Tiffin; a sister, Helen Fetchko of Hazelton; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. McClintock, who was affiliated with Parrish United Methodist Church, had been employed as a sales agent with McClintock Insurance Agency in Tiffin.
Services were in Bradenton.

Clarence A. Nowak
Gibsonburg Lime Products retiree
Clarence A. Nowak, 85, of West Dewey Street, Lindsey, died early Monday morning, March 27, 2000, in Memorial Hospital, Fremont.
He was born April 21, 1914, in Waterville, to August and Anna (Hansen) Nowak. He married
Lucy Gnepper Nov. 7, 1936. She died June 21, 1983.
Surviving are: four daughters, Joanne Zyski of Fremont, Nancy Ginnever of Tucson, Ariz., Janet Timmons of Kansas, Ohio, and Charlene Paxson of Lindsey; three sons, Robert Nowak of Sylvania, Dennis Nowak of Las Vegas, Nev., and David Nowak of Fremont; three brothers, Harold of Sylvania, Lester of Fremont and Harry of Ravenna; five sisters, Esther Sondergeld of Oak Harbor, Clara Walp and Margie Magrum, both of Gibsonburg, Hattie Huff and Kathryn Gibson, both of Fremont; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Linda; four sisters, a brother and a great-grandchild.
Mr. Nowak operated a stem shovel and front end loader for 47 years at the Gibsonburg Lime Products (now Pfizer), until his retirement in 1983.
A life member of the Sandusky County Sportsman's Club, he played in the Nowak Family Euchre Club and was an avid gardener and Cleveland Indians fan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Nopper-Veh Funeral Home, Gibsonburg. Burial will be in Lindsey cemetery.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in his name to the WSOS Senior Meals, 600 W. State St., Fremont, or the St. Clair Unit at St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs.
Judge John R. Evans
Former appeals court judge
Judge John Robb Evans, 72, of Lima, died at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2000, in Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Lima to Ernest Snow and Ruth Robb Evans Sr. His wife, Joyce (Link) Evans, whom he married
April 28, 1962, survives.
Survivors also include: three sons, James R. Evans of Waynesville, David R. Evans of Lima and George R. Evans, at home; a sister, Mrs. David (Patricia) Jenkins of Winter Park, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Two brothers, William James and Ernest S. Jr. Evans, also preceded him in death.
Judge Evans, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lima, was the former judge for the 3rd District Court of Appeals.
A 1945 graduate of Central High School, he served two years in the U.S. Army Infantry and was honorably discharged in 1954.
He received his bachelor of science degree in 1949 from Miami University, where he was a member of the Ohio Alpha Chapter, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity; and his law degree (Doctor of Juris prudence) from Ohio Northern University in 1952, where he was a member of Sigma Delta Kappa Law Fraternity.
He was admitted to practice of law in Ohio on March 26, 1952, and began his law practice in Lima in 1955. He also served as assistant Allen County prosecutor under Anthony J. Bowers 1957-60; as assistant Allen County Prosecutor under Robert L. Balyeat in 1961; elected first term as law director in 1961 and second term in 1965.
In 1986 he won election to the Third District Court of Appeals and was re-elected in 1992. He retired in February 1999, but continued to serve by assignment until December.
The Rev. William Croy and Jean Horn will be the co-officiants at the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday service in the Chiles and Sons-Laman Shawnee Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Lima, where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1275.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.

Ruth M. Romig
Former Carey homemaker
Ruth M. Romig, 93, formerly of 16474 CH 21, Carey, died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, March 26, 2000, in the Arlington Good Samaritan Center, where she had resided for the past 12 years.
She was born in Findlay June 22, 1906, to Linford and Edith (Spaith) Hallowell. On June 4, 1931, in Findlay, she married
Truman D. Romig. He died June 22, 1991.
Survivors include: three children, Mrs. Richard (Elizabeth) Vaughn of Columbus, John K. Romig of Winter Haven, Fla., and Mrs. John (Sara) Hunter of Carey; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
A sister, Inez Caldwell, also is deceased.
Mrs. Romig, a homemaker, was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carey, its Mary-Marthas and the Women of the Church., where she was very active.
A 1924 graduate of Findlay High School and a 1925 graduate of Findlay Business College, she also was an associate member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jenera.
As a young woman, she played piano and organ at St. Paul's E.U.B. Church in Findlay .
The Rev. Paul W. DeMoss and the Rev. John D. Stroup will be the co-officiants at the 11 a.m. Thursday service in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey and one hour prior to the service at the church Thursday.
Memorials may be made to Christ Evangelical Church, Arlington Good Samaritan Center or the donor's choice.
Anthony "Tony" Fredritz
Fostoria native, Tiffin resident
Anthony "Tony" Fredritz, 43, died early Sunday afternoon, March 26, 2000, at his residence at 341 W. Market St., Tiffin.
He was born in Fostoria, March 7, 1957, to Paul T. and Florence T. (Miller) Fredritz, who survive in Vanlue.
Other survivors include: seven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Donald (Janice) Stark of Wharton, Ronald and Gary, both of Carey, Linda Garrett of Fostoria, Carol Miller, Mrs. James (Sharon) Hunter, also both of Carey, Mrs. Gary (Rose) Weaver of Jasper, Mo. and Mark of McCutchenville.
Mr. Fredritz, a 1976 graduate of Vanlue High School, was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Carey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, with the Rev. Benjamin Knopp as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Carey.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, where a Christian wake service will be at
8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.
Thomas J. Heath
Tom's Automotive owner
Thomas J. Heath, 46, of 1212 White Ave., Fremont, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in the Emergency Care Center of the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.
He was born April 17, 1953, to the late James J. and Dorothy (Trautman) Heath.
Survivors include: four daughters, Rachel Shockley of Boca Raton, Fla., Michelle, Jessica and Jamie Heath, all of Fremont; nine grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Philo of Fremont; and a special friend Claire Shue, also of Fremont.
Mr. Heath, a former millwright at Whirlpool Corp, Clyde Div., owned Tom's Automotive in Fremont, retiring in 1999 due to a disability.
He enjoyed sprint car racing and camping.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. until time of the service at 7 p.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memory Gardens Chapel, Clyde. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
The Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde, is in charge of arrangements.
Mildred I. Steck
Homemaker
Mildred I. Steck, 90, formerly of Glen Haven Road, Upper Sandusky, died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2000, in Berkley Square Nursing Home, Hamilton, where she had resided for the past five years.
She was born in Wyandot County March 10, 1910, to G. Frank and Minnie (Schindler) Kuenzli. On May 2, 1932, in Kentucky, she married
Leonard E. Steck. He died May 24, 1978.
Survivors include: a son, David L. Steck of Hamilton; a daughter, Mrs. Robert D. (Marilyn) McGee, also of Hamilton; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
The last of her family, she also was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. George (Pearl) Rabbitt, and four brothers, Wayne, Glenn, Vinton and Galen.
A homemaker, Mrs. Steck also assisted her husband in the former Stansbery/Steck Grocery Store in Upper Sandusky.
Since the age of 14 she had been a member of Trinity Evangelical Methodist Church and its A.E.F. Class and sang in the church choir for many years.
She also was a member of Hospital Guild 14 and Eastern Star Chapter 366, which she had joined in 1941. She was a former member of Salem Grange, Upper Sandusky, and O.C.C.L. Mother's Club.
The Rev. Derik Hines will conduct the 1:30 p.m. Wednesday service in the Bringman Clark and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky. Interment will be in Old Mission cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dorothy F. Leahy
Former Tiffin resident
Dorothy F. Leahy, 93, of Springfield, formerly of Tiffin, died Wednesday evening, March 22, 2000, in Oakwood Village.
She was born Dec. 16, 1906, in Chicago, Ill., to James M. and Alice (Beever) Slattery. Her husband, Dr. John M. Leahy, died in 1964.
Surviving are four sons, John Leahy of Lima, William Leahy of Springfield, Thomas and Walter Leahy, both of Columbus; two sisters, Ethel Johnson and Ruth Kepner, both of Chicago; a brother, Philip Slattery of Chicago, 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers and a grandson, Sean Leahy in 1991.
A graduate of DePaul University and Illinois Normal University, Mrs Leahy taught elementary school in Chicago and Tiffin.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. April 1 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Frank Murd as celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service.
The Littleton and Rue Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge of arrangements.

Cleo Marie Wagner
Allied Signal retiree
Cleo Marie Wagner, 71, of Main Street, Risingsun, died at 6:35 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born in Kansas, Ohio, Aug. 14, 1928, to Sherman and Elva (Roush) Klotz. On Oct. 4, 1952, in New Riegel, she married
Wilfred G. Wagner. He survives in Risingsun.
Other survivors include: a son, Curtis R. Wagner of Fostoria; three daughters, Sheila M. Sharp of Fostoria, Pamela Feller and Ginger Wilson, both of Risingsun; a brother, Dallas Klotz of Helena; a sister, Valena Gibson of Bowling Green; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Cletus Klotz; and three sisters, Natilla Gaskalla, Elma Baker and Martha Klotz.
A 1947 graduate of Risingsun High School, Mrs. Wagner retired in 1980 as an inspector from Allied Signal (now Honeywell) in Fostoria, where she had been employed for 33 years.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Risingsun.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Trinity cemetery, Scott Township, Risingsun.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
