Beatrice M. Green, 73, of Davenport, Fla., and formerly of McCutchenville, died at 2:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, in Bishop-Gray Inn, Davenport.
She was born to Adam and Esther (Von Blon) Schuetz Aug. 27, 1926, in McCutchenville. She married
George O. Green Aug. 16, 1976. He is deceased.
She is survived by a foster brother, John J. O'Donnell, of Tiffin.
A 1949 graduate of Heidelberg College, she operated the Bea's Superett Grocery in McCutchenville for 31 years, and was a member of the McCutchenville Trinity United Church of Christ and the United Methodist Church in Davenport, Fla.
The body has been cremated. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the Pleasant Ridge cemetery in Wyandot County.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the McCutchenville Trininty United Church of Christ.
Local arrangements have been handled by Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore.
Ardis M. "Cookie" Iler
Columbian graduate
Ardis M. "Cookie" Iler, 52, of West Birchard, Fremont, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, in St. Charles Hospital.
She was born April 5, 1947, in Tiffin to Milford Eugene and Hannah (Merinda) Hayward. She married
Andrew F. Iler in Las Vegas July 29, 1980.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Dawn V. White of Fremont; a stepson, Robert Iler of Fremont; a stepdaughter, Christine Iler of Fremont; two grandchildren; two brothers, Bruce Hayward of Tiffin and Jan Hayward of Bowling Green, Mo.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Iler was a 1965 graduate of ColumbianHigh School; was employed by Singer Control as an assembler for 22 years; was manager of the Copper Penny and a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and of the Fremont Eagles.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont, with the Rev. Ervin Walther officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery, Fremont.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Neil F. Meredith, 78, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, in his home in Desloge, Mo.
He was born April 16, 1921, in Imlay City, Mich.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; two sons, John G. Meredith of St. Clair, Mich., and Mark D. Meredith of Tiffin; two daughters, Mrs. John (Rebecca) Traxler and Mrs. Ronald (Debra) Peters of Punta Gorda, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Ronald (Janice) Burns of Flushing, Mich.
A daughter, Marcia, two brothers and a sister are deceased.
He was: a World War II veteran who served with the 8th Air Force in England; former manager of Basic Inc.; a past exalted ruler of Tiffin Elks Lodge; and a charter member and past exalted ruler of the Desloge Elks Lodge.
Memorial services were at the Boyer Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell McFarland officiating.
Carrie L. Hayward
Former Republic homemaker
Carrie L. Hayward, 90, of North CR 21, Republic, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs.
She was born May 9, 1909, in Defiance, to John and Olive (Todd) Frederick. On Oct. 18, 1928, she married
Melvin E. Hayward, who preceded her in death in 1997.
Surviving are a son, Gordon E. Hayward of Republic; a daughter, Melva Rohrbacher of Republic; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Gladys Conger, also of Republic.
Also preceding her in death were four sisters and four brothers.
Mrs. Hayward, a homemaker, was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Fireside.
The Rev. Candace Thomas will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Monday service in Zion United Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Bellevue cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue. The body also will lie in state after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Memorial may be made to the church.
Clarence L. Martin
Former Webster/National employee
Clarence L. "Cork" Martin, 76, a resident of the Ruffing Family Care Center of Tiffin since October 1999, died at 1:25 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, where he had been a patient for about five days.
He was born on Jackson Street in Tiffin, Dec. 27, 1923, to Clarence Avery and Maude Ellen (Haley) Martin. His wife of 55 years, Norma Ruth (Stover) Martin, whom he married
April 18, 1944, in the parsonage of the United Brethren Church, Willard, survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Harry James Martin of Wichita Falls, Texas; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Harry H. Martin of Banning, Calif.; a half-brother, Jack Martin of Indiana; and a sister, Mrs. Elwood (Myrtle E.) Stone of Las Vegas, Nev.
Two brothers, George W. and Charles W. Martin, are deceased.
Mr. Martin, who had formerly resided on West SR 18, farmed with his friend, Howard Price, operated two gas stations, worked at Katzenmeyer Sohio Station and transported cars for Wittman Motors. He also worked as a fireman on the B&O Railroad, at Webster and National Machinery and on the Jamison Ranch in Wyoming.
During World War II, he worked at Trojan Power Plant in Sandusky, where he received the Army-Navy "E" award for his knowledge and expertise at the plant.
He served in the National Guard for two and a half years in the 135 Field Artillery Division, Company B, where he received military honors for his accomplishments in the guard.
Mr. Martin attended Miami Street School in Tiffin and Melmore School and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jan Kucera and Deacon Robert Hartzell co-officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Matthew T. A. Conley
Noble School fourth grader
Matthew Thomas Anthony Conley, 10, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at his home at 217 Fourth Ave.
He was born Nov. 16, 1989, in Tiffin, to Fred and Rene (Anese) Conley, who survive at 217 Fourth Ave.
Survivors also include: his grandparents, Amedes and Shirley Anese of Tiffin and Clyde R. and Shirley Conley of Springfield; his great-grandmothers, Mrs. Harry Foster of Defiance and Anna Keeton of Springfield; and two siblings, Ryan and Brooke Conley, both at home.
Ryan, a fourth grade student at Noble School, played both flag football at the YMCA and Little League Baseball.
He enjoyed animals, playing the guitar and served as flag boy for the Starbright Baton Corps.
The Rev. William Rose and his uncle, the Rev. Robert W. Blalock, will be the co-officiants at the 11 a.m. Monday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.
Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today and one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Matthew Conley Memorial Fund.
Robert W. Ethell

Robert W. Ethell, 63, of 330 Water St. died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at his residence.
He was born July 15, 1936, in Columbus to Wayne F. and Louise (Hossler) Ethell. He married
Charlotte Bixler Feb. 25, 1979 in Findlay. She survives.
Also surviving are an adopted son, Chris Wagner of Tiffin; a stepson, Richard Charles Brashares of Titusville, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Cherl Brooks of Findlay, Lori Christopher of Hershey, Pa., and Tabatha Puckett of Defiance; and 16 step-grandchildren.
His parents and a stepson, Gary Eugene Emmons, preceded him in death.
He was a retired cook and a retired truck driver; a past member of the Moose; and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
A memorial Mass is at 10 a.m. today in the St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating.
There is no visitation.

Walton Aubrey, 80, of 122 Winston Ave., Lexington, Ky., died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000.
Mr. Aubrey was born in Lexington, Ky., April 8, 1919, to James David and Lieu Ann (Clark) Aubrey.
Survivors include his wife, Florence; three sons; and a daughter.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, which included his twin brother, Walter, of Tiffin, and two sisters.
He was raised at the Junior Order Home from age 6 to 18 and was a retired postal worker.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the White Hall Funeral Chapel, Lexington, Ky. with burial in Memorial Garden.
Ruth M. Gwiner

Ruth M. Gwiner, 77, of Columbus Avenue, Fostoria, died 7:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
She was born Feb. 29, 1922, in Covington, Ky., to Sherman and Catherine (Hemminger) Curry. She married
Earl F. Gwiner July 4, 1944, in Fostoria. He died in October 1969.
Survivors include: three sons, Richard and Gary of Fostoria and Greg of Lansing, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Ginger) Traul of Edina, Minn.; two brothers, Joe Curry of Erie, Mich., and Ed Curry of Grand Rapids; and nine grandchildren.
Three sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
She was a 1940 graduate of Weston High School; retired in 1989 from Kroger, where she had been a cashier for more than 30 years; a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria Woman's Club, Fostoria Business and Professional Woman, Fostoria Chapter 94 Order of the Eastern Star; volunteer at Fostoria Community Hospital, Meals on Wheels, Red Cross Bloodmobile and the Soup Kitchen; and was an avid bowler.
The Rev. Branson J. Hawkes will officiate at the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will follow in the Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or to St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.

Harvey Louis Jordan
U.S. Air Force-retired
Word has been received of the death of Harvey Louis Jordan, 77, who died at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at his residence in Baton Rouge, La.
His wife, a former Bloomville resident, Josefine (Kranz) Jordan, survives at 5433 Stonewall Drive, Baton Rouge.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Margie Ricks and Debbie Markham; three sons, Thomas, Mark and Tony Jordan; a sister, Evelyn Stark; and 11 grandchildren.
Mr. Jordan, a former resident of Pearl, Miss., retired from the U.S. Air Force as a senior master sergeant.
Services were Jan. 5 in the Rabenhorst Funeral Home East Chapel, Baton Rouge. Interment was in Port Hudson National cemetery.
