Eugene P. Baumgardner
St. Francis Avenue resident

Eugene P. Baumgardner, 77, 182 St. Francis Ave., died at 4:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, where he had been a patient for a day.

He was born in Seneca County, Dec. 6, 1921, to Forrest L. and Grace Baumgardner. He had never married .

Mr. Baumgardner, a life-time Tiffin area resident, was retired.

Graveside services in McCutchenville cemetery will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Dr. Arthur M. Geyh officiating.

There will be no visitation. The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Eugene J. Kirian
Union Carbide retiree

Eugene J. Kirian, 86, of 512 Glenview Drive, Fostoria, died in the Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999.

He was born Feb. 3, 1913, in Fostoria, to Joseph J. and Florence (Carroll) Kirian, His wife, Dorothy L. (Altwies) Kirian, whom he married Sept. 28, 1935, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, died Oct. 20, 1998.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Janet) Haase and Mrs. Stephen (Mary) Weidner, both of Fostoria; 22 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Frank (Peg) Jurrus of Fostoria.

Also preceding him in death were three sons, John "Jack,"

William and James Kirian; a daughter, Barbara Beach; two sisters, Mary Catherine Tague and Dorothy Harris; and two brothers, Tim and Tom Enright.

Mr. Kirian, a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, retired in 1978 from the Union Carbide (now National Electrical Carbon), Fostoria, after 37 years of employment.

A 1932 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, he was a third degree Knight of Columbus Council 1197 member and fourth degree Father Kirsch Assembly 845 member, both of Fostoria. He also earned an associate degree in horticulture from the Ohio State University.

Services will be at noon Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where a Chalice presentation will follow the 8:30 p.m. Christian wake service and the Fourth Degree Honor Guard will take place 7-9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Church and Schools.

Doris Mae Savidge
Wyandot County nursing home retiree

Doris Mae Savidge, 75, of 191 F, Broadview St., Upper Sandusky, died at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, in Fairhaven Health Care Community, Upper Sandusky.

She was born in Sycamore, March 10, 1924, to Esther Hill Crawford. She was formerly married to Clarence Auck and Harold Scheitler. On June 2, 1990, in Upper Sandusky, she married Lester H. Savidge, who survives.

Also surviving are step-children, Kenneth Savidge of Garden City, S.C. and Connie Hanky of Monroeville; three step-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Heffelfinger of Upper Sandusky and Martha Barth of Carey; and two brothers, Glenn Crawford of Upper Sandusky and the Rev. Richard P. Stiefel of Topeka, Kan.

A sister, Helen Crawford, and a brother, James Stiefel, also are deceased.

Mrs. Savidge retired from the Wyandot County Nursing Home in 1982, where she had worked in housekeeping and laundry. She also worked at Swan Rubber in Bucyrus, U-Brand Corp, Upper Sandusky; and did babysitting.

A 50 year member of the First Lutheran Church, Upper Sandusky, she also was a member of the Upper Sandusky Lioness Club, Eastern Star 366, Women of the Moose, where she was a 50-year plus charter member and served as past deputy of Grand Region.

Also a 50-year plus member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Upper Sandusky, she enjoyed bowling for 50 years in several leagues and playing cards and bingo.

She graduated in 1942 from Sycamore High School.

The Rev. Robert Gordon will be the officiant at the 1:30 p.m. Wednesday service in the First Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Old Mission cemetery,Upper Sandusky.

Visitation at the Bringman-Clark and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where Moose and Eagles memorial services will be at 8:40 p.m. Visitation at the church will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the church, Wyandot County Historical Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

Bernard A. Lee
Bendix-Autolite retiree

Bernard A. Lee, 82, of 435 Park Ave., Fostoria, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, in Mesa, Ariz.

He was born May 23, 1917, in Napoleon, to Clayton and Vera (Stykemain) Lee. His wife, Katheryn (Knisely) Lee, whom he married Feb. 22, 1945, survives in Fostoria.

Survivors also include: three daughters, Mrs. John (Linda) Boos of Muskegon, Mich., Margaret "Peg" Keel of Worthington and Mrs. Rex (Carol) Burdette of Holly, Mich.; five grandchildren and a great-grandson; and a brother, William S. Lee of Arlington.

Mr. Lee a member of the First Christian Church, Fostoria, retired in 1977 from Bendix-Autolite, Fostoria, after 30 years of service.

A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he served in the European Theater in the Third Armored Division, where he earned a Purple Heart and an Oak Leaf Cluster.

He also was a member of American Legion Post 73, Fostoria.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Christian Church, with the Rev. Bertie Dell officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia,.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Fostoria, in care of the Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830, who are in charge of local arrangements..

Elizabeth M. Behm
Attica homemaker

Elizabeth M. Behm, 86, of 8331 SR 4 S., Attica, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, in Mercy Hospital of Willard.

She was born Sept. 25, 1913, in McCool Junction, Neb., to Arthur and Maude (Renquist) Marshall.

Survivors include: a son, Marshall Behm of Silverdale, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Barbara) Schaaf of Attica, Mrs. Kenneth (Victoria) Walliser of Fostoria and Mrs. David (Valerie) Gordon of Stilwell, Kan.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Donald Marshall of Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister, Mrs. Vic (Gretchen) Ebel of Ft. Collins, Colo.

A brother, Walter Marshall, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Behm, a homemaker, graduated in 1938 from the University of Nebraska.

She was a member of the Bloomville Eastern Star, Navy Mothers, Ladies Auxiliary of Caufield American Legion Post and the Seneca County Home Economics Club.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Seneca East Public Library or St. Wendelin High School Library, in care of the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 1295 W. Tiffin St., Attica.

Ervin Schenk
Farmer/former township trustee

Ervin Schenk, 81, of Sandusky CR 306, Clyde, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, in Firelands Hospital, Sandusky.

He was born in Townsend Township, Feb. 14, 1918, to William and Mattie (Lucal) Schenk. On March 18, 1942, he married Thelma Mae Williamson. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, William Schenk of Vickery and Larry Schenk of Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Teresa Meyer of Sandusky and Mrs. Larry (Kaye) Krogh of Castalia; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Edward (Hazel) Schoewe of Sandusky.

Mr. Schenk, a farmer, also had been employed at New Departure in Sandusky.

A lifetime resident of the Clyde area, he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, the Farm Bureau, the Loyal Pals Farm Council and the UAW.

Also a Townsend Township trustee for 18 years, before retiring in 1980, he was a 1936 graduate of Townsend Township High School.

The Rev. Douglas Haryu will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Thursday service in Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Parkhurst cemetery.

Visitation at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

George J. Wagner
National Machinery retiree

George J. Wagner, 66, 30 Gross St., died at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

He was born Aug. 25, 1933, in Tiffin, to the late Robert J. and G. Kathryn (Diemer) Wagner. His wife, Joan (Carson) Wagner of Tulsa, Okla., whom he married Jan. 16, 1954, in St. Edward's Chapel, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Fla., with Navy Chaplain Msgr. Edward Dunn of Chicago, officiating, survives.

Survivors also include: a son, George J. Wagner II of Toledo; two daughters, Jane A. Wagner of Sandusky and Mrs. Ron K. (Joan) Wehrle of Columbus; and a granddaughter.

A son, John A. Wagner, and a sister, Roberta M. Wagner, also are deceased.

Mr. Wagner, a 1951 Calvert High School graduate, retired in 1998 as a tool and die maker, from National Machinery Co., after 42 years of service.

A U.S. Navy veteran, during the Korean Conflict, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, president of St. Joseph cemetery Board, past grand knight of Knights of Columbus Third Degree Council 608, fourth degree member of Knights of Columbus Archbishop Schrembs Assembly and the Quarter Century Club at National Machinery.

A funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. James Say as celebrant. The rosary will be recited at the church 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, where the Quarter Century Club will meet at 7 and a wake service will be at 8:45.

Memorials may be made to the church, Community Hospice Care, Mercy Mobile Meals or Calvert High School.

Jennie M. Althauser
Upper Sandusky native

Former Wyandot County resident Jennie M. Althauser, 82, of 11 Crestview Drive, Boonville, Mo., died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, in the Cooper County Memorial Hospital, Boonville.

She was born in Upper Sandusky March 17, 1917, to Ralph L. Sr. and Ruth G. (Hayman) Bacon. On Nov. 3, 1935, in Sycamore, she married Karl Althauser. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Don Althauser of Herman, Mo., and Nick Althauser of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Forrest Bacon of Upper Sandusky.

A son, Timothy Althauser, died in 1949; and a brother, Ralph Junior Bacon, also is deceased.

Mrs. Althauser, a homemaker, was an active member of Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church, Boonville, where she served as the past president of the Women's Organization.

She also was past president and charter member of the Boonville Women's Club and Chapter GO of PE.O Sisterhood.

The Rev. Kenneth Wessler will conduct the 2:30 p.m. Saturday service in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery, Sycamore.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church, in care of the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Shaffel Ave., Sycamore.

Marilyn Ann Tuckerman
Heinz Corp. employee

Marilyn Ann Tuckerman, 54, of Rawlins Way, Clyde, died at her residence Monday, Dec. 6, 1999.

She was born in Houston, Texas, Dec. 5, 1945, to the late Barney and Hazel (Buchanan) Pritchett. Her husband, David A. Tuckerman, whom she married June 18, 1993, survives.

Also surviving are eight children, David J. Tuckerman of Powell, Christine Brown, Eric and Joel Tuckerman and Mrs. Truman (Robin) Phillips, all of Fremont, Mrs. Troy (Leanne) Stumph of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Earl (Amy) Betts of Bentonville, Ark., and Brian Nighswander of Coshocton; 15 grandchildren; and two brothers, Earl Pritchett of Fremont and Larry Pritchett of Channelview, Texas.

A son, Dale Lee Nighswander, and an infant sister, Barbara Pritchett, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Tuckerman, a member of Grace Brethren Chapel, Fremont, was employed at the Heinz Corp. in Fremont for 10 years.

A Clyde area resident most of her life, she moved to Arizona in 1994 and back to Clyde in 1998.

Mrs. Tuckerman also was a member of the first graduating class of NorthShore High School, Houston, Texas.

Services in the Grace Brethren Chapel, North Street, Fremont, will be conducted by the Rev. Tom Goossens at 3 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.

Visitation at the church will be noon Thursday until time of the service.

The Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Kenneth Creed Risner
Former bar owner/retired laborer

Kenneth Creed Risner, 67, of 6666 W. CR 6, New Riegel, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born in Carey Nov. 27, 1932, to the late Ernest and Grace (Hamlin) Risner.

Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Phil (Colleen) Kimmet of Attica; five brothers, Monroe Risner of Adrian, Derry and Ernest Risner, both of Upper Sandusky, Gerald Risner of Tiffin and Paul Risner of New Riegel; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Virginia) Caudill of Tiffin and Mrs. Harold (Roxie) Bowling of Findlay; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

A sister, Donna Thaxton; and a brother, Milo Risner, also are deceased.

Mr. Risner, a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict, retired as a general laborer. He was the former owner of Lackie's Bar in Alvada.

He attended the Upper Room Tabernacle Church, Tiffin.

The Rev. Benny Fitch will be the officiant at the 2 p.m. Friday service in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the United Veteran's Council.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
