Glendon Gilbert Graves
Retired farmer
Glendon Gilbert Graves, 99, of Sandusky CR 247, Vickery, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, in Providence Hospital, Sandusky.
He was born July 7, 1900, in Vickery, to William J. and Ida Belle (Lindsey) Graves. His wife, Ruth B. (Bare) Graves, whom he married
June 4, 1938, survives.
Other survivors include: two children, Roger and Jeanie Graves of Port Clinton; and two grandsons, Bryan Graves of Charlotte, N.C., and Aaron Graves of Bowling Green.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Leo and Dean Graves.
Mr. Graves, a farmer, retired in 1975. He was a member of Vickery United Methodist Church and its Methodist Men's Club and the Sandusky County Farm Bureau.
A 1918 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, he attended Ohio Northern University.
Services in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Charles Frost officiating. Interment will be in Tew cemetery, rural Clyde.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to the church.
Kathyrn B. (Berlekamp) Feathers
Former Bettsville resident
Kathyrn B. (Berlekamp) Feathers, 87, formerly of Union St., Bettsville, Fremont, died, Tuesday, October 19, 1999, at Fremont Center. She was born Feb. 6, 1912, in Old Fort to Oscar and Sarah (Mayer) Berlekamp. On March 18, 1931, she married
Guy Feathers; he died in 1983.
She is survived by: a son, Paul Feathers of Fremont; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Feathers is preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Sarah; four brothers, infant brother Joseph, Rush Light, Wendall Kermit and Kenneth Berlekamp; and adopted sister, Isabel.
Mrs. Feathers graduated from Old Fort High School. She was a homemaker and for many years owned and operated Feathers trucking with her husband, where she served as bookkeeper. She was a member of: Women's Christian Temperance Union; Old Fort Garden Club; Bettsville Woman's Club; Bible Study Leader and Good News Club for Children. She loved gardening, especially her roses, and played piano.
The Rev. Thomas Goossens will officiate the 10 a.m. Saturday service at the Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont. Burial will be at Pleasant Union cemetery, Old Fort.
Visitation hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. tonight, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Gina Gorczyca
Infant daughter
Gina Gorczyca, infant daughter of Michael J. and Margaret M. (Magers) Gorczyca of Tiffin, was born at 2:16 p.m. and died at 3:06 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
Survivors include: Both parents, of Tiffin; two sisters, Samantha and Casandra Spradlin of Findlay; a brother, Ryan Spradlin of Findlay; maternal grandmother, Harriet Magers of Tiffin; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Virginia Gorczyca of Mich.
She was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Wilbur Magers.
The Rev. William Rose will officiate the private graveside services in St. Mary cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday.
There will be no visitation.
Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made: Masses for Baby; Mercy Hospital Maternity Ward.
Esther (Marlnee) Willman
Former area pastor's wife
Esther (Marlnee) Willman, 94, of Elmwood Care Centers, Green Springs and formerly of Milan, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Elmwood Centers.
She was born in Cleveland Oct. 31, 1904, to Frederick Joseph and Blanch (Beers) Marlnee. On Sept. 1, 1927, in Milan she married
the Rev. Harold Willman, who is deceased. He was a former pastor of Green Springs United Methodist Church and Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Charles of Green Springs and David of Elyria; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren.
A brother, Frederick Marlnee, is deceased.
She was a graduate of Milan High School and Bowling Green State University; a homemaker; a member of the Edison United Methodist Church in Milan; and an Eastern Star member for 68 years of Edison Chapter, Milan.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, in the Edison United Methodist Church, Milan, with the Rev. Becky Buckeye and the Rev. James Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Milan cemetery.
There will be no visitation. The Engle-Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Green Springs United Methodist Church.
Ellen Harriett Smith
Bloomville residents' mother
Ellen Harriett Smith, 58, of 409 W. Findlay St., Carey, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at the home of her daughter, 9017 E. US 224, Bloomville.
Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 11, 1941, in Carey to Elmer J. and Elizabeth (Wisebaker) Powers. On Sept. 22, 1960, she married
Charles D. Smith in Carey.
Surviving are her husband and mother; a daughter, Mrs. Michael G. (Kathy A.) Davis of Bloomville; two sons, Douglas S. of Bloomville and David B. of West Liberty, Iowa; and nine grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her father and a brother, Richard E. "Dicky" Powers.
A 1960 graduate of Carey High School, Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and affiliated with Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carey.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home in Carey with the Rev. Cathy Wirth officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill cemetery in Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Wyandot County.
Clara L. 'Judy' Smith
Retired licensed practical nurse
Clara L. "Judy" Smith, 78, died at 5:14 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at her home at 15 Hancock St.
She was born in Bascom, Dec. 4, 1920, to John Melchoir and Calistia Sara (Schultz) Myers. On July 3, 1942, in Tiffin, she married
Warren Smith, who survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Steven W. Smith of Bellevue; two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Janice A.) Zavrel of Perrysburg and Mrs. Barry (Sharon S.) Jerman of Tiffin; seven sisters, Lucille Dundore and Wanda Bohlin, both of Tiffin, Lillian Runion of Republic, Mrs. Gerard (Doris) Gauthier of Henderson, Nev., Mrs. Lea (Edith) Stevens Jr. of Bullhead City, Ariz., Mrs. John (Beatrice) Flood of Attica and Barbara Rotruck of Genoa; four grandchildren, a great-grandchild and three step-grandsons.
Preceding her in death were three sisters, Gladys Cool, Evelyn Lafountain and Lois Crowley; and a brother, John M. Myers.
Mrs. Smith, a member of the Protestant Faith, retired in 1983 as a licensed practical nurse from the Tiffin Developmental Center, where she had been employed for 20 years.
A 1940 graduate of Old Fort High School, she received her LPN from Fostoria Hospital.
The Rev. Douglas Nagle will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday service in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.

Margaret Laird
Mother of Tiffin resident
Margaret Laird, 82, of 1650 Williams Drive, Fremont, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, in Memorial Hospital, Fremont.
She was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Clyde, to Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Margaret Hoffman) Laurendeau. Her husband, Glendon Laird, whom she married
Feb. 8, 1936, in Clyde, preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, James and Glendon Laird Jr., both of Fremont; three daughters, Karol Boedecker of Lakeside, Kay Ritzman of Clyde and Kelly Zimmerman of Tiffin; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hyacinth Kipp of Fremont.
A son, Timothy; four brothers, Alfred, Raymond, Sidney and Clifford Laurendeau; and three sisters, Josephine Wurzel, Winifred Baumgartner and Marie Foos, also are deceased.
A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fremont, Mrs. Laird was a homemaker.
A Mass of Resurrection at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Mark Herzog officiating. Burial will be in Four Mile House cemetery, Fremont.
Visitation at the Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde, will be 9-10:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Alton McClory
State of Ohio Nursery retiree
Alton McClory, 85, of West Drew Lane, Clyde, died in the Arbors of Clyde Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999.
He was born in Riley Township, Sandusky County, Oct. 18, 1914, to John James and Virginia (Huston) McClory. On Feb. 6, 1942, he married
Genevieve Russell, who survives.
He also is survived by nieces.
Three brothers, John, Harry and Elvern McClory, and a sister, Mabel McClory, are deceased.
Mr. McClory, a 1933 graduate of Clyde High School, farmed until 1958, worked at Taylor's Fruit Farm and retired from the State of Ohio Nursery, Green Springs, in 1980.
A member of the Clyde Christian Church, he had resided in the Clyde area most of his life, except for living in Canada for about seven years as a child..
The Rev. Stephanie McLemore and the Rev. Mary Jo Bray will be the co-officiants at the 2 p.m. Wednesday service in the Clyde Christian Church, South Main Street, Clyde. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
Visitation at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the church.
John A. Marra
Husband of former Tiffin resident
John A. Marra, 77, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at his home in St. Albans, W.Va., following a long illness.
He was born Dec. 17, 1921, in a temporary mining town near Morgantown, W.Va., to the late Luigi and Rose (Spadafore) Marra. His wife, Lucy D. (Gaietto) Marra, whom he married
in 1949, survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dave of St. Albans and Rick of West Chester, Ohio; a grandson; and a sister, Josephine Dinardi of Morgantown.
Mr. Marra, a 1947 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in forestry, retired in 1985 as a forester from the West Virginia Department of Agriculture.
A World War II veteran, he saw action in the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-45 and his unit, the 69th Infantry, linked up with the Russian Army in Southern Germany at the end of the war.
He was a 50-year member of the Society of American Foresters, served as director of the Special Exhibits at the Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair for 25 years and was inducted into the fair's Hall of Fame.
A 45-year member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Albans, Mr. Marra served as past commander of the Catholic War Veterans and as past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Patrick M. McDonough as celebrant. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the church.

William P. Hanson
Retired salesman
William P. Hanson, 82, of 842 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.
He was born in Johnstown, Pa., July 6, 1917, to Sylvester and Elizabeth (Beach) Hanson. On June 29, 1946, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, he married
Rita M. Hoffbauer, who survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are two sons, Ronald P. and Donald P. Hanson, both of Fostoria; a sister, Mrs. Rita Gulley of Johnstown; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Mr. Hanson, a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and Eagles Club 430, both of Fostoria, retired in 1977, after eight years of employment as a salesman at Tom Davis Motors, formerly of Fostoria.
A funeral Mass in St. Wendelin Catholic Church will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the rosary recited at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Fund or the American Heart Association.
Vera M. Robison
Ash Street homemaker
Vera M. Robison, 90, of 16 Ash St., died at 6:52 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, in the Autumnwood Care Center, where she had resided since May.
She was born in Fostoria, March 16, 1909, to Henry William and Nell Dela (Mergenthaler) Ecker. Her husband, Willard Robison, whom she married
March 1, 1934, in Fostoria, preceded her in death in 1966.
Surviving are a step-daughter, Betty L. Houk of Tiffin, a step-grandson, and two step-great-granddaughters.
A homemaker, Mrs. Robison was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, Rebekah Lodge 900, Attica; Royal Neighbors of America; and Church Women United of Seneca County.
She had resided in the Tiffin area for many years.
The Rev. Gail Angel will be the officiant at the 2 p.m. Wednesday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where Rebekah Lodge 900 will conduct services at 2:30 p.m.
