Wilbur Francis Nye
Green Springs resident
Wilbur Francis Nye, 81, of 7103 N. TR 169, Green Springs, died at 5:07 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital.
Mr. Nye was born on Dec. 11, 1917, in Adams Township to Oliver and Evelyn (Bricher) Nye. On Feb. 12, 1942, he married
Rose Boes in St. Joseph's Catholic Church who survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Stephen of Green Springs, Joseph of New Washington, Daniel of Norwalk; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Mary) Lonsway of Tiffin, Mrs. John (Rose Ann) Fick of Westerville, and Mrs. Howard (Jane) Van Horn of Rockville, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a son, James Nye; and a grandson.
He was a 1937 graduate of Old Fort high school and was a life-long farmer. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Father Joseph Steinbauer officiating. Rosary will be said 15 minutes before the funeral. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph's cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-5 p.m. Sunday, at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home with a Wake Service at 4:30 p.m.
Dennis J. Fetzer
Lifelong Tiffin resident
Dennis J. Fetzer, 50, of 91 1/2 First Ave., Tiffin, died at 9:58 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, in an accident at 325 N. Michigan St., Toledo. He was born Oct. 9, 1949, to the late Charles H. Fetzer and Marjorie (Beeler) Fetzer, who survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include: his divorced wife, Becky Beard; two daughters, Mrs. Amy Gamez of Miami, Fla., and Holly Fetzer of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, Ronald C. Fetzer of Yellow Springs, and Larry J. Fetzer of Tiffin; three sisters, Mrs. Linda L. Craig Kinney of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Betsy Chisholm of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Mrs. Carol Sowards of Tiffin; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Fetzer was a Class of 1967 graduate of Columbian High School. He worked as a journeyman for Mosser Construction Co. He was a member of the Catholic faith; AMVETS; Moose; Elks; Eagles; DAV; Sons of the Legion, Sycamore; and Journeymen Carpenter's Union.
The Rev. Frank A. Murd will officiate at the 10 a.m. funeral service at St. Mary Catholic Church today. Burial will be in St. Boniface cemetery.

Sharon A. Smith
Alta Mira Nursing Home retiree
Sharon A. Smith, 63, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, at her home at 46 Maple St.
She was born in Clinton Township, Seneca County, April 9, 1936, to the late Rolland and Musa Lavone (Warner) Church. Her husband, Richard E. Smith, whom she married
April 28, 1951, in the Tiffin Baptist Church, survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Timmy E. Smith of Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Nancy) Patterson of Tiffin and Mrs. Aster (Kaylene) Mullins of Bloomville; two sisters, Mary England of Berwick and Phyllis Magers of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Tina Sue Hess and Melody Kay Smith, and a granddaughter, Tasha Hess.
Mrs. Smith, a member of the Christian faith, retired from Alta Mira Nursing Home in 1993, after 10 years of service.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Fairmont cemetery, with the Rev. John Teeters officiating.
There will be no visitation. The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation.
Christina Walters
Lakota High School student
Christina Walters, 15, of 1950 Sandusky CR 41, Fremont, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, in an auto accident on CR 58.
She was born in Fremont, May 27, 1984, the daughter of Eric and Sherrie (Widman) Walters, who survive on Sandusky CR 41, Fremont.
Surviving besides her parents are: two sisters, Lisa and Erica Walters, both at home; and her grandparents, Richard and Janet Widman and Richard and Ruth Walters, all of Fremont.
Miss Walters, an honor student at Lakota High School, was a member of the Student Council, basketball team, and served as statistician for the cross country team.
She also was a member of St .Mary's Catholic Church, Millersville, and St. Mary's 4-H Club.
Services in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Millersville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Washington Chapel cemetery.
Visitation at the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, Fremont, will be noon-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made to the church or Lakota High School Girls Basketball team.
Francis John Nitecki
Webster Mfg. retiree
Francis John Nitecki, 86, of 314 Jefferson St., Republic, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, at his residence, following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 15, 1913, in Tiffin, to Walter Joseph and Antonio (Wesolowski) Nitecki. On Feb. 11, 1939, in Tiffin, he married
Viola Pauline Hartzel, who survives.
Survivors also include: two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Ann Nitecki) Deeter of Lima and Mrs. Monte (Karla Nitecki) Huss of Fremont; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Joseph Nitecki of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Stover and Elizabeth Nitecki.
Mr. Nitecki, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, retired as a sheet metal fabricator in 1975 from Webster Mfg. Co. in Tiffin, after 45 years of employment.
An avid gardner, winemaker and antique collector, he was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and Wade Benfer American Legion Post 404, both of Republic.
The Rev. Joseph Szybka will be the celebrant at the 10 a.m. Tuesday funeral Mass in St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Burial will be in Farewell Retreat cemetery, Republic.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, where a scripture service will be at 8:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the church or Community Hospice Care.
Marvin F. Moes
Atlas employee
Marvin F. Moes, 47, of 21583 CR 7, Alvada, died at 8:09 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, in Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born in Fostoria, Oct. 19, 1951, to Anthony J. and Berneda L. (Coleman) Moes. His mother survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: three sisters, Annette Shaull and Mrs. John (Donna) Shaull, both of Fostoria, and Jolynn Moes of Lakewood; and seven nieces and nephews.
His father and two brothers, Edvin and John Moes, are deceased.
Mr. Moes, a 1970 graduate of Lakota High School, had been employed at the Atlas in Fostoria, since 1970.
A member of UAW Local 336, he attended St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Kansas cemetery.
Visitation at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Frances Ann Erchenbrecher
Retired nurse
Frances Ann Erchenbrecher, 92, died at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, in St. Francis Home, where she resided.
She was born in Sperryville, Va., Oct. 15, 1907, to Charles and Modella (Jenkins) Adkins. Her first husband, George Carper, died in 1929. She later married
Edwin Erchenbrecher Sr. He died in 1973.
Surviving are: three stepchildren, Edwin Jr., Carl and John Erchenbrecher, all of Fremont; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Three children, Mary Angus, Dean Carper and an infant son; two stepchildren, Mary and Leland Erchenbrecher; a sister; and a grandchild, also are deceased.
Mrs. Erchenbrecher, who had resided in Fremont and at the Kiwanis Manor, was a retired nurse. She had worked at Fremont Memorial Hospital and also did private-duty nursing.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
The Rev. Wendell D. Shepherd will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Fremont.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Clara Browning
Retired nurses aide
Clara Browning, 74, formerly of 645 Lynn St., Fostoria, died at 12:22 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, in St. Catherine's Care Center, 536 Stinchcomb Drive, Fostoria., where she resided.
She was born in Sedalia, S.C., Aug. 3, 1925, to Walter Sr.and Maratha (Wilfield) Epps. Her husband, Postell Browning Sr., whom she married
April 6, 1947, in Sedalia, survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: five sons, Lewis Browning of Lima, Postell Jr., Marshall E., Willie M. and Joe W. Browning, all of Fostoria; three daughters, Mrs. Oliver (Maratha) Dulin and Whonetha Edwards, both of Mansfield and Patricia Johnson of Fostoria; a sister, Mrs. Jimmie N. Jones of Fostoria; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
A brother, Walter Epps Jr., also is deceased.
Mrs. Browning, a member of Faith A.M.E. Church, Fostoria, retired in 1982 as a nurses aide, from Fostoria Community Hospital, where she had been employed for 20 years.
Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation at the funeral home, will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Cahleene Haldeman
Retired homemaker
Cahleene Haldeman, 86, formerly of West Millgrove and Lima, died at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
She was born in Lima, Aug. 11, 1913, to Henry D. and Verla M. (Brenneman) Allen. On May 14, 1939, in Findlay, she married
Charles W. Haldeman, who preceded her in death May 7.
Survivors include: a son, Edward D. Haldeman of West Millgrove; and a grandson, Eric Haldeman of Louisville, Ky.
A sister, Geraldeene Allen, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Haldeman, a homemaker, was a 1931 graduate of Lima High School.
She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Fostoria, where she taught Primary Sunday School class for 31 years and a member of its Pathfinders Class and the 1939 Bereans.
A charter member of the Child Conservation League, West Millgrove, she also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the West Millgrove Fire Department.
The Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Friday service in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Catherine's Care Center Activity Fund.
Jaclyn A. Sherlock
Arcadia homemaker
Jaclyn A. Sherlock, 67, of South Street, Arcadia, died in St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Monday, Oct. 18, 1999.
She was born in Lambertsville, Mich., Sept. 4, 1932, to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Ward) Teets. Her husband, William W. Sherlock, whom she married
Jan. 5, 1970, in Fostoria, survives in Arcadia.
Other survivors include: three sons, Robert Delong of Findlay, Wayne Delong of Fostoria and Edward Arnett Jr. of Arcadia.
A homemaker, Mrs. Sherlock was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arcadia.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Arcadia cemetery.
There will be visitation. The Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements.
Gina Gorczyca
Infant daughter
Gina Gorczyca, infant daughter of Michael J. and Margaret M. (Magers) Gorczyca of Tiffin, was stillborn at 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
Survivors include her parents; three siblings, Samantha, Casandra and Ryan Spradlin, all of Findlay; maternal grandmother, Harriet Magers of Tiffin; and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Virginia Gorczyca of Michigan.
The maternal grandfather, Wilbur Magers, is deceased.
The baby was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Graveside services in St. Mary's cemetery will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. William Rose officiating.
Memorials may be made for Masses for the baby or to Mercy Hospital of Tiffin Maternity Ward.
Robert T. Ryder
Retired meat cutter
Robert T. Ryder, 73, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at his residence at 612 West St., Carey.
He was born in Findlay, Nov. 20, 1925, to Nial H. and Eva D. (Bacher) Ryder. His mother survives at the Wyandot County Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky. On Jan. 14, 1950, he married
Estella "Rosie" Brown, who preceded him in death Dec. 12, 1996.
Survivors include: three children, Mrs. David (Nancy) Kurtz of Carey, Michael W. Ryder of Ludington, Mich., and Charles J. Ryder, also of Carey; four grandchildren; a brother, Jack Ryder of Monroe, Mich.; and Joan Gohlke of Saginaw, Mich.
His father is deceased.
Mr. Ryder, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, retired in 1992 as a meat cutter from Valu-Pak Cardinal in Carey.
He was a member of American Legion Post 344, Carey, and Elks Lodge 75, Findlay, and a past member of American Legion Post 3, Findlay.
The Rev. Paul DeMoss will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Friday service in The Beach Funeral Home of Carey. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.
Visitation is after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
