David Earl Graham
Old Fort native

David Earl Graham, 62, of Akron, died Saturday, July 17, 1999, following a battle with cancer.

He was born in Old Fort.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou Graham of Akron; two sons, Michael David Graham of Akron and Patrick Shawn Graham of Cincinnati; two grandsons; a sister, Mary Price; a brother, William Graham; a half sister, Vicky Shisler; a step-sister, Nancy Noon; and two step brothers, Howard and Robert Lucas.

Mr. Graham, a U.S. Army veteran 1954-56, served as a personnel specialist. In February 1958, he joined the Ohio State Highway Patrol, where he worked as a dispatcher, road patrolman and training officer until 1964.

In 1965, he joined the Summit County Sheriff's Department, where he worked in the patrol division. He was promoted to sergeant in the detective bureau and inspector in the training division. In 1967, he obtained his certification as a State of Ohio certified instructor from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Council.

In 1969, he joined the Fairlawn Police Department where he served as sergeant and senior sergeant in the patrol division. He was then assigned as Fairlawn Police Department's first full time training officer and gained state wide recognition. He retired in January 1992 with a total of 33 years of service.

In 1988 he started his own consulting and training business, "Graham and Associates," which recently combined with SACS, consulting and training center. He currently was the training director and certified instructor for the law enforcement division.

Mr. Graham was a member of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers, Who's Who in Law Enforcement, International Police Association, International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners, Ohio Crime Clinic, Ohio Crime Prevention Association, National Association of Professional Law Enforcement Emergency Vehicle Response Trainers and the Ohio Auto Theft Investigators Association.

He also instructed the first Basic Defensive Driving School for the State of Ohio.

Services will be Tuesday in the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Akron. Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.

James P. Gee
Brother of Tiffin resident

James P. Gee, 47, died Saturday, July 17, 1999, at his home in Clyde, following a long illness contracted while serving in Vietnam.

He was born March 10, 1952, in Clyde, to Mr. and Mrs. Jessie (Janet R.) Gee. His mother, Janet R. Stearns, survives in Clyde and his father survives in Xenia.

Other survivors include: two sisters, Judy Soper of Fremont and Robbin Neil of Monroe, Mich.; four brothers, Lynn Stearns of Benton Harbor, Mich., Scott Stearns of Tiffin, Jeffrey Gee of Charlton, Mich. and Kirk Gee of Monroe, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Gee.

Mr. Gee, a self-employed contractor, served one tour in the U.S. Army in Vietnam with the 25th Infantry Division and two tours in Germany. While in Vietnam he did extensive work with Vietnamese war orphans. He also graduated from the 82nd Airbourne Division School.

A graduate of the Kurtz National School of Meat Cutting in Toledo, he also attended the University of Maryland.

Mr. Gee was an avid fisherman and an excellent marksman and enjoyed hunting.

Military graveside services will be conducted by Clyde VFW Post 3343 and Clyde American Legion Post 122, at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

Friends will be received at the family residence at 2188 S. Main St., Clyde, at 6-8 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, where the body will lie in state.

Memorials may be made to the family. The Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde, is in change of arrangements.

Marjorie M. Harrison
Black Mountain, N.C. resident

Former Tiffin resident Marjorie M. Harrison, 75, of Black Mountain, N.C., died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 1999, in Memorial Mission Hospital, Ashville, N.C.

She was born in Tiffin May 2, 1924, to Arlington B. and Mary (Behm) Beck. On March 30, 1944, in Tiffin, she married Edsel Harrison. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Donald A. Harrison of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. James (Sharon) Smith of Spartanburg, S.C., and Mrs. Robert (Vicki) Fallon of Medford, N.J.; a sister, Mrs. Allen (Barbara) Dryfuse of Republic; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were two brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Harrison, a 1942 Columbian High School graduate, had been employed as an accountant at both Sterling ITT and Hobe Groves Inc., Hobe Sound, Fla.

A former member of Trinity United Church of Christ, she was a charter member of its Mother's Circle and a member of the Emblem Club.

Services in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Dolores M. DeWald
Housekeeper

Dolores M. DeWald, 71, of 215 Gibson St., Tiffin, died in the early afternoon Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at her residence. She was born April 18, 1928, in Bascom to William E. and Gertrude (Hoepf) DeWald. Her mother died when she was an infant. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, George and Lovina Tiell. All are deceased.

Survivors include: a brother, Francis DeWald of Bascom; two sisters, Anna Benner of Tiffin and Mary Louise Elchert of Fostoria; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were: two brothers, Ivo and Herman DeWald, and a sister, Gertrude DeWald Nichols.

Ms. DeWald was a housekeeper for 15 years at numerous Catholic churches, including St. Boniface in Oak Harbor and St. Ann's in Fremont. She was also a housekeeper for John "Jack" Friedman for 20 years. She was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of the Allen Eiry Senior Center of Tiffin.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, Tiffin. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery, Bascom.

Visitation hours will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Foundation and/or Allen Eiry Senior Center.

Ruth (Pankhurst) Findley
Rural Fremont homemaker

Ruth (Pankhurst) Findley, 88, of Tiffin Road, Fremont, died Sunday, July 18, 1999, in the Arbors of Clyde.

She was born Aug. 24,1910, in Michigan, to Wesely E. and Iva (Hull) Pankhurst. On Jan. 29, 1930, in Contennial, Ohio, she married Denver Findley, who preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1988.

Survivors include: a daughter, Gloria Rufty of Fremont; two grandsons, both of Fremont; and two great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were a brother, Richard Pankhurst; and three sisters, Genevieve Miller, Rose Mary Weaver and Jean McCumber.

A homemaker, Mrs. Findley was a graduate of Jackson Liberty High School in Amsden.

She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church.

Services in the Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Robert Lecce officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Paul R. Dearsman
Farm laborer

Paul R. Dearsman, 61, of 725 Swessor Ave., Willard, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, July 18, 1999, in the Genesis Elder Care Center, Willard. Arrangements are pending at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, Tiffin.

Dorothy E. Mosier
Homemaker

Dorothy E. Mosier, 81, 227 Mohawk St., died Sunday, July 18, 1999, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Arrangements are pending at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Dexter Lee Campbell
Ford Motor Co. retiree

Dexter Lee Campbell, 84, of West Drew Lane, Clyde, died Sunday, July 18, 1999, in the Bellevue Hospital. He had been in failing health.

He was born in Rosehill, Va., Feb. 26, 1915, to John and Kitty (Daniels) Campbell. His wife of 59 years, Novella (Northcutt) Campbell, whom he married June 15, 1940, survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Vernon Roger, John William and Ronald L. Campbell, all of Clyde; four daughters, Mrs. James (Linda) Click of Clyde, Margie Campbell of Longmont, Colo., Mrs. Dale (Karen) White of Pensacola, Fla.; and Tina Deck of Fremont; 18 grandchildren including Tina Bush, who lives with her grandparents; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Two sisters, Susie Pruitt and Elizabeth Eads; and six brothers, John, Frank, Eligah, Robert, Lonnie and Nathan Campbell, are deceased.

Mr. Campbell, who received his education in Rosehill, retired in April 1977 as a die cutter from the Ford Motor Co., Sandusky, where he had been employed for 23 years.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Clyde, and the United Auto Worker's Local 1216, Sandusky.

The Rev. James Belcher will be the officiant at the 1 p.m. Tuesday service in the Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.

Visitation is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Eben Kreps McArthur
Retired purchasing agent

Eben Kreps McArthur, 80, of 2820 Greenacre Drive, Findlay, died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 1999, in the Heritage Manor, Findlay.

He was born in Cleveland, Sept. 12, 1918, to Arthur and Dorothy (Kreps) McArthur. In June 1946, he married Mary "Molly" Hatfield, who is deceased.

Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Robinson of Fostoria and Leslie Risser of Oregon; a son, Tom McArthur of Elkhart, Ind.; four grandchildren; and a brother, John McArthur of Strongsville.

Mr. McArthur, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, retired as a purchasing agent from Kase Mfg. Co. in Cleveland.

A volunteer for the American Red Cross, he was a member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, Mayfield Village, and its Vestry.

Memorial services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church.

Memorials may be made to Memorial Garden Fund, in care of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, 435 S.O.M. Center Road, Mayfield Village, Ohio 44143 or the American Red Cross-Fostoria Chapter.

The Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements.

Michael R. Prenzlin
National Machinery employee

Michael R. Prenzlin, 49, of 1416 Park St., Findlay, died Thursday, July 22, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Prenzlin was born June 14, 1950, in Fostoria to Warren and Mary (Brickner) Prenzlin. They are deceased.

He married Vicki Dewese July 26, 1986, in Weston. She survives.

Other surviviors include: two sons, Matthew and Mark of Tiffin; two brothers, Warren of Tiffin and Timothy of Columbus; two sisters, Diana Murphy of Fostoria and Kathy Jarrett of Bellevue; and two grandchildren.

A brother, Christopher, preceded him in death.

Mr. Prenzlin was employed at the National Machinery Co.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Loomis-Hanneman Funeral Home in Weston with burial following in the Weston cemetery. The Rev. Robert Stewart will officiate.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made the the American Cancer Society.

Forest W. Cupp
Rural Fostoria resident

Forest W. Cupp, 60, of 11071 W. TR 116, Fostoria, died Friday, July 23, 1999, in West Virginia.

Arrangements are pending at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home.

Robert E. Harman
Former teacher/coach

Robert E. Harman, 88, of 410 S. Eighth St., Upper Sandusky, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday, July 23, 1999, at the Wyandot Manor Nursing Home.

He was born April 20, 1911, in Upper Sandusky to Benjamin Carlton and Minnie Edith (Stecher) Harman.

On Feb. 17, 1940, he married Gladys M. (Sue) Newman in Covington, Ky. She died June 8, 1996.

Mr. Harman is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Ann) Frisch of Houston, Texas; a brother, Richard Carlton Harman of Akron; and two grandchildren, Johanna Elizabeth Frisch and Andrew Harman Frisch, Houston.

Two sons, Thomas Dirck and R. Michael; and one brother, John Harman, preceded him in death.

Mr. Harman graduated in 1929 from Upper Sandusky High School, where he was very active in sports. He attended Wittenberg College for two years on a football scholarship; was a member of Lamba Chi Alpha fraternity at Wittenberg; graduated from Dennison University in Granville; and did graduate work from the University of Michigan. After receiving his Ohio teacher's license in 1940, he taught history and American government and coached football and basketball.

He first taught at Salem Twp. School in Wyandot County and was coach when they were Wyandot County basketball champions in 1939. He also taught and coached at: Granville High School and Rawson High School where he coached basketball and football; Oak Harbor High School coaching football; and taught at Sycamore/Mohawk High School 1956-1977, retiring in 1977. He was active in other activities including: officiating football and basketball for 30 years, A-AA-AAA-AAAA as well as Mid Ohio Conference Colleges; an Ohio licensed real estate broker and did real estate appraising; a 60-year plus member of the Warpole Masonic Lodge 176; McCutchen Chapter 96; U. S. Council 98; B.P.O.E. 83 Elks; served as Republican central committeeman for his precinct; and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, making candy and fishing.

His family also owned and operated the Harman Texaco service station in Upper Sandusky.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Robert Gordon officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to either the Wyandot County Historical Society or the Upper Sandusky High School Booster Athletic Fund.
